We had been trying to help my elderly aunt find an affordable and comfortable assisted living home for quite a while. We came across The Oaks Habersham, which we toured earlier this year, and The Oaks Pooler, which we recently visited. While my aunt ultimately didn’t become a resident of either location, we have only high praise for Robert and Alan, two of The Oaks’ representatives and their staff members. We would have loved for my aunt to live at either location; however, due to extenuating personal circumstances which occurred at the last moment, we couldn’t move forward. Both Alan and Robert have been the exceptionally kind, professional, patient, caring, gracious and accommodating during this whole time. When we toured their respective facilities there was a warm and inviting atmosphere, the facilities were clean, fresh smelling, and beautifully decorated. Additionally, the staff and residents interacted like a family. Robert and Alan greeted their residents by name. Most of all, the residents were cheerful, engaged, and hopeful. Had our circumstances been different we would have definitely moved forward with placing my aunt there. I would highly recommend The Oaks Habersham or Pooler to anyone who is seeking a home away from home for themselves or their loved ones. Most sincerely, Les & Jan C.

It is a beautiful place to place your love ones. Allen represents Oaks of Pooler with such love of the place he cares so much of. He really makes you feel hoe safe it is there.

My concern is not so much my sister, but some of the other residents without family around as much as we are. A main concern is a few people who cannot seem to roll their wheelchairs to the dining room. I know many times no staff member checks on them. I realize everywhere is short staffed, but the residents should not suffer because you are short staffed. Pay more, hire upscale workers! I appreciate everything you do for my family because many times recently I’ve had to yell to staff for help.

The oaks is a nice place and the staff seems ready to help. The establishment was clean. It was nice to see a chapel as well as a movie theater. Certainly a place to check out if looking for a place for a loved one.

This place has an amazing upbeat atmosphere and extremely caring staff, last time I visited I witnessed how hands on and empathetic the Executive Director, Letty Cockrum, was with her residents. The place is absolutely beautiful and the best senior care facility in the area, I'm so happy with the care they are giving my grandmother

The caregiving at the Oaks at Pooler is exceptional. They have independent living with assistance as well as a memory care unit, fully staffed with caring and supportive attendants. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and I can’t say enough about how much the staff takes an interest in each and every resident. I recommend them all the time tofriends who are looking for this level of care for their family members and will continue to do so.

The Oaks at Pooler has met all the needs of our aging mother. The friends and fellowship she has there have made this time of isolation and Covid more than bearable. Mom has been a resident at The Oaks for over 2 years now and has thrived in her golden years. She loves helping new residents get acclimated, helped with sewing pillows for cancer patients, has lots of activities (pre covid-having outings), confers with the chef for meal ideas, plays the games that are available, and enjoys her visiting time with the staff. I can highly recommend the apartment living at THE OAKS!

This place was awesome they took care of my father for a few years and he was there until the end My thanks to all the people who work here you were great

The reason I don't give The Oaks at Pooler a 6-star review is because there aren't 6 stars. My 84 year old mother got to the point where another assisted living facility could no longer give her the care she needed. I couldn't bear to see her in an outright nursing home. I contacted The Oaks and they absolutely went out of their way and bent over backwards assisting us in getting Mom into their facility. They worked with us on financial arrangements, answered all of our questions, were always courteous, returned our phone calls, and were just generally good, outstanding and caring people! The Oaks was the best decision that we made for the comfort, safety, and well being of Mom. It was so very difficult with the Covid19 mess, not being able to visit, but it was totally understandable. It just went to prove that The Oaks placed the safety, health, and well-being of their residents above all else, and it was greatly appreciated. We lost Mom 2 or 3 months after she moved in, but those 2 or 3 months put my mind at ease knowing she was well taken care of. I will forever be greatful to The Oaks for the service they provided my mother. I know I will omit someone, but I want to mention and especially thank Sherri, Nikki, Diane, Kimberly, and Kayla for their outstanding love, care, and devotion.

The staff has been amazing! The level of care and response to the family is excellent. They have let me know about programs and opportunities that I would have struggled to know existed on my own. They make it so easy for me to get the assistance my father needs. I couldn't think of a better place for him. They keep him engaged and he seems to be at peace with his new home.

My mother has lived in the assisted living area for almost a year and she loves it. The nursing staff seem to really care about the patients and the food is amazing. I have never had any issues as of this date and I am there to visit every day.

I truly love this place and I could not have picked a more perfect place for my Mother. She did not even want to come here but after two days here.....she thanked me and told me she LOVES IT here!!! I have watched her flourish and be more herself since she got here. I can not say enough good things about the staff....they go above and beyond to make sure Mom is happy and taking care of daily. Thanks to The Oaks in Pooler we appreciate all of you.
January 2019
I just want to say what a Godsend this place has been to me and my Dad. My dad is in the Horizons Memory Care wing and the staff has been amazing. He was previously "asked to leave" another local Memory Care facility due to behavior problems associated with Sundowners after only a month. I was at my wits end. When I talked to the staff at The Oaks about what was going on they assured me that it was not anything they had not seen in other Alzheimer's patients and they would work with him. Their goal is to make sure that this is the last place he would have to be moved to and could live out his life without disruption of moving to a nursing facility. Everyone there has gone out of their way to learn about his life prior to Alzheimer's so they can better adapt his activities to things he likes to do. You can tell how truly caring they are and the genuine concern and care they give my dad. The interaction of the staff with all the patients is wonderful. They are very patient and treat everyone with respect. Dad has been there 3 months now. It took me a little while to relax and realize that they have this under control but it is an amazing feeling to know that when I cannot be there I do not have to worry about him. I could go on and on but for those looking for a place to put a loved one when the tough decision comes I would recommend visiting the Oaks. When you start looking do your homework and make sure that wherever you go there is enough staff and that they are trained well. A place can look great but not have the proper care and staff to take care of your loved one. The Oaks has both.
August 2018
There are some very caring people who work here, but my parents did not have a good experience at this place at all. Promises were made when we set them up to stay for respite care after my dad took a fall. Many of those promises were not kept. Wait times for help were longer than we found acceptable, and at least once they were completely forgotten about and didn't get taken downstairs to eat for a meal. The basic problem is understaffing. If they'd be willing to hire a couple more people to help during peak hours, it would make a world of difference. Now that an amazing new assisted living facility is opening near Savannah Quarters, The Oaks will up it's game and do better for the people living there.

The place is amazing. As far as staff. I called the phone for some information and someone named renita answered the phone. She was very rude and yelled a few times throughly the conversation. If you don’t want to do your job then quit! Don’t take it out on the customers
