Reviews Marshall Pines Assisted Living and Memory Care
March 2023
Our family has only one regret with our loved one here at Marshall Pines. We wish we had found it sooner! We have been at two previous “premiere” memory care facilities in Augusta over the last few years and they just can’t hold a candle to the care our father receives here at Marshall Pines. They accept him for everything he is. They love him consistently where he is at each day in his ups and downs. The staff are GOLDEN. They operate a well oiled machine with precision care. The compassion and love displayed by each of the staff is overwhelming to us sometimes. We are overjoyed to be a part of the Marshall Pines family. We have FOUND ‘HOME’. Thank you so very much for making a difficult period in our lives feel like we aren’t just holding our heads above water. We can breathe knowing dad is well cared for each day and night. We can feel your empathy and love and that brings us GREAT COMFORT! Thank you and God Bless each of you!

I am an Occupational Therapist in the area and I visit many places. Kelly and her Staff provide amazing care for their residents. I am especially fond of all the activities they plan and ensure that everyone is able to be included! Also, they have what's called a Sensory Spa that is amazing! It's a serene room that has so many calming features. I really enjoy the time i've been able to spend there and would recommend it for anyone with a loved one that has special memory care needs

I work in the healthcare industry. Marshall Pines is one of my favorite communities to partner with. The staff really goes above and beyond to take care of their residents. The facility is always clean and friendly. Kellie, Teresa and Laura treat everyone like family. I highly recommend Marshall Pines if you are looking for Assisted living /Memory care for your loved one. You will not be disappointed!

My Mom has been at Marshall Pines for almost 3 years. She likes it so much she now calls it home. All of the staff are helpful and caring people. The Medical stall, led by Teresa Brown, take excellent care of all the residents. The Culinary staff prepare meals that are very good. I have eaten with my Mom several times. The Activities staff keep the residents engaged and active. The Housekeeping staff keep things clean and tidy. The Executive Director Kellie Pugh is the warmest and most genuine caring person you will meet. I have seen talking with residents, asking about their families, and calling them by name. I know that I made the right decision when I brought my Mom to Marshall Pines.

Marshall Pines is the best place I could have found for my mom. The staff is incredible. They are very concerned about their residents always checking on them, talking and laughing with them. So much like home, the residents are free to roam the entire building and not locked up in a certain area. Always activities going on and the meals are incredible. I would recommend Marshall Pines for you spouse or loved one. I have made so many new friends with the staff and residents. I could not be happier and most importantly, my mom is happy. My heart is at rest.

My mother has been in 3 facilities in this area and this is one of the best. A warm homey setting and staff that are friendly and kind. She thrived during the Covid lockdown. Even though I could not visit inside they always were ready to set up a window visit or FaceTime. She is 93, in a wheelchair and without sores .Good Job!

This was a good facility 4 years ago NOT NOW! My family member did not die of COVID but of NEGLECT. We got to see our relative on their death bed. SKELETON is a generous description. ALL THE POSITIVE REVIEWS ARE FROM EMPLOYEES!!! My loved one lost 65 lbs in 10 months! That is not the disease- that is straight up neglect. I saw how they cared for their clients. I lived in that facility taking care of my loved one.I could write a book on what I personally saw but it is too disturbing to relive. When I would bring up concerns to the director, she became NASTY to me! Instead of listening to my concerns she purposefully made it more difficult for me to see my relative and then COVID happened and that was the end of my relative. I called omnibudsman, the state of ga it was all just voicemails messages and no one ever called me back. I called the facility to ask how my loved one was doing during COVID. I was told - this was a place of business and they did not have time to answer my questions!!! The reason they have a business is bc my relative pays their jobs!!! Other facilities did FaceTime with families. No one could be bothered to answer a phone call??? I was given a voice Mail # to a nurse #. No One EVER RETURNED MY PHONE CALL- NOT ONCE IN 10 months!! No, this place is a filthy, disgusting joke. I know my loved one suffered and the new female director with her giant cross she wears is a pure joke-just like this place!

Four years ago, our family began the journey of Alzheimer's with my mother. Since then, my sister and brother-in-law were also afflicted. The staff at Marshall Pines are more than care providers-they are partners, counselors and friends. Kellie Pugh, the director, works side-by-side with me to provide optimal care and guidance.

Having my mother in Marshall Pines has given me a great peace of mind. The staff and admin are very dedicated which is comforting. There are daily engaging activities, field trips, a diverse community, good nutritional food, weekly laundry service, housekeeping weekly, full time on site nurse, weekly on site Dr visits and X-ray service, weekly community updates from admin, monthly newsletter, memory decor throughout facility. I recommend Marshall Pines to anyone in need of memory care for a loved one. I have no more sleepless nights.

I unfortunately have experienced dementia and Alzheimers in my family for over 24 years, from my grandmothers, aunt, brother, dear friends who became family and now my mom. We luckily had Jud C. Hickey Center help us in our times of need and now that I am working at Marshall Pines I see our staff have the passion to care for our residents just as I do. Residents are family, the love and kindness I see given to each and everyone of them warms my heart. Our residents families become friends we hug, listen to, laugh and cry with.

This has been such a difficult time for all of us for sure. It is so hard for those of us who have loved ones that we cannot see in person, and it is challenging for the staff to keep everyone happy and safe. The staff at Marshall Pines has done a wonderful job, both with being so attentive to our loved ones, and also with taking the time to share so many of the photos of the activities with us at home so that we can lay our eyes on those we love. It is so wonderful to see Bill in photos showing him participating in activities and looking so well. I look forward to this pandemic ending so that we can all be reunited again and I can thank each and everyone in person! Marshall Pines is a wonderful facility with a dedicated talented staff. I wholeheartedly recommend Marshall Pines to anyone who is in need of assistance with a family member. Donna Greenaway and the entire Greenaway family.

If you have a family member that is suffering from Alzheimers dementia then you are in the right facility. My father was in the premiere facility in Augusta (starts with a Brandon) and lets just say that it resulted in a move to a new facility, Marshall Pines. Here, the staff is actually trained on how to take care of the patients and as the disease progresses they know how to individualize care for each patient. As of this writing, he has been living there for over a year now. I cannot say enough positive things about the staff, especially Kimberly, the head administrator. I have called the facility at 10:30 at night and Kimberly answers the phone. I have stopped by the facility at 11pm and she answers the door. She has given her life to this facility and my family is so entirely appreciative of her. If we have any problems because no place is perfect, Kimberly has always been attentive to our needs and puts the needs of the patients, and their families first. She has no problem disciplining staff and if necessary dismissing employees that are not a good fit for the facility. We are a very involved family and we trust the facility. It is when you are not at the facility that you want to know that your loved one is receiving good quality care. It was a very hard decision to move him and when I moved him to Marshall Pines I knew we had made the right decision.

I love coming to work here, except it doesnt feel like youre working because our residents are such wonderful and unique people. They make you laugh.( at least for me they do). I remember when I lost my sister to dementia, it was devastating for me I had to do everything on my own. I only wish my sister could have lived in this community, because of the loving and caring staff that we have here at Marshall Pines, this community is our residents home and we love them and their family dearly. To all of our staff ( Lets Keep Moving Forward). Leona Wells, Executive Chef

Happy to report that Kellie Pugh and her staff are working diligently at Marshall Pines to provide solid, compassionate care to their residents. Consistently in the past and even today on a FaceTime call with a resident, I observed the residents engaged in the scheduled activity - CornHole! Thanks for offering Memory Care residents interaction to keep their minds and bodies working as well as possible. Amy Hane, Aging Life Care Manager Long Term Liaisons

Especially during a difficult time like this, I am especially glad that my mother is in the capable, caring hands of the staff and administrators at Marshall Pines. I have every confidence that they are doing everything in their power to keep the residents AND staff healthy and fulfilled. I appreciate the honesty, the communication, and the professionalism they offer, but most important, I know they genuinely care about my mom - and that goes a long way towards reassuring me that mom is in the right place.

Best memory care in Evans. Everyone at Marshall Pines Memory Care will take care of your loved one like family. I recommend Marshall Pines 110%.
July 2018
My experience with Marshall Pines is through my father, Jack Flett, who recently passed away there. Alzheimers patients dont always do what they should do, they get into trouble, they misbehave and many times dont listen. The staff at Marshall Pines were always so kind to my father and always treated him respect and dignity no matter what the situation. Even though some of his behavior brought us worry and concern that he might be removed from Marshall Pines, we were always assured that they were used to this type of behavior, would try to rediect and not to worry that all would be okay. If he didnt like something at dinner and they knew it, they would go get Mr Jack a sandwich. Im pretty sure he talked them out of a few extra desserts as well. At the time of my fathers passing, throughout the day many staff came in to tell us stories about my dad and their experiences with him. Several took the time to sit with him, talk to him, touch him and tell him they loved him. They brought us food and beverages without our asking and always made sure we had everything we needed. If my dad had to spend his last few years anywhere, Im so glad it was Marshall Pines because not only did they take care of my dad, but they took care of us as a family. 5 stars

Went here to view the facility for my grandmother and it is beautiful! It truly feels like your home. You can see the thought and care Kim and her employees put into this place and towards their residents. There is enough employees to care for the residents with an almost one on one basis. They are very thoughtful of everyone and their families. Im so happy we found this place.
