Our Dad moved to Lia's just over 4 weeks ago after being at a large institution for 6 months. The difference between the two is unbelievable! Lia's is truly a home. It is not cold and impersonal, and the care is phenomenal! After multiple falls at the other facility and the most recent severe fall, our Dad couldn't do anything for himself anymore. Now, he is clean, well groomed, well fed, and safe. He has begun to stand and take baby steps again. He doesn't just spend the entire day in bed like he used to at the other place, even before the falls. He is a grouch at times, but they just accept him and see the good in him. He has rapidly advancing dementia at 92.5 years. He is a type A personality and normally very active, so this change is especially distressing for him. We simply cannot thank all the staff at Lia's for the loving care and all they do. We truly feel God led us there, and we are so thankful. There is no better care anywhere! Thank you all! UPDATE - 2/22/24 My Dad passed away a month ago at Lia's. I would still give them 10 stars if I could! Our Dad was only there 4 months before he passed, and they were hard times, but Lia, Alex, Mona, and all of their loving staff made it so much easier. We can not thank them enough for the tender loving care they gave Daddy. I know it was extremely challenging at times with his severe dementia. They treated him like their own father, and that did our hearts good to see. I wish we had known about Lia's sooner and that we had started his journey there in the beginning, but I am so very thankful that God led us to Lia's when he did. They provided extraordinary care! As an RN, I know the challenges with skin care in patients. Daddy's tailbone protruded horribly as he deteriorated, but with their excellent care, he did not have any bedsores. That alone speaks volumes about their care! Lia's is a warm and loving home, not an overcrowded institution. It is immaculate with stable staff. If you are fortunate enough that Lia's has an opening and you have a loved one that needs this type of care, run, don't walk, to Lia's! This is the place we all deserve when circumstances warrant. Thank you, Lia, Alex, Mona, and everyone. We love you and appreciate you.

Our father recently passed away, just before his 93rd birthday, slightly less than a year after pretty sudden onset of rapidly debilitating dementia. He spent the first 6 months in memory care at a local, very nice, assisted living complex, however, there was such frequent turnover of staff, that with him all the while getting worse and worse, we were delighted when an opening became available at Lia's and we were able to move Daddy there in early September. Lia, her sister Mona, son Alex, as well as all the rest of the staff, are very loving, caring people who truly do their best to keep the residents as comfortable and well cared for as humanly possible. And there is very little staff turnover here - not different faces all the time, as before. Our family would highly recommend Lia's. You could not ask for a better home for your loved one, however long it might prove to be needed. They only have 7-8 residents at a time in this large, warm and welcoming, immaculately-kept house - nothing institutional about it! With the way we came to learn of it and how quickly we were able to move him there, we truly feel God led us there. Bless all of you at Lia's for your wonderful, compassionate, not to mention PATIENT, care of Roy! You made a very difficult time a lot more bearable, and we all sincerely thank you!

Literally the best place for your loved one. They treat your family like their family. My grandmother was there for a while and with the help of this facility, every day was her best day. Words can't express how much I recommend them for anyone's assisted living needs. They are the Nicest, sweetest and most amazing people.

Losing a loved one, especially a cherished mother, is an awful thing to go through. We were referred to Lia's Personal Care home by our hospice social worker and we have never been so blessed as to have been welcomed into Lia's home and family. She and her son Alex and her sister Moni (as well as all the other staff family) are truly "angels on earth". Our mother could no longer remain in assisted living and being with Lia's family was a gift from God. She needed 24 hour care and constant assistance and she got all that and so much more. Our father would have been so pleased to know the amazing care and love shown by Lia's "family" to our mother. Mary was quite "the pill" and Lia and the gang handled her so lovingly, with the gentlest of care and a huge smattering of humor (which was priceless to our mother). Should you find yourself in need of help with a loved one you will find no better place than Lia's Personal Care Home in Buford, GA. Our family will forever be grateful for Lia!!!

10+ STARS!!! I was happy to move my mother from another state so I could care for her in my home due to her condition of dementia. However, after 2 years I became physically unable to care for her. I was very distressed but knew I had to make a change. I toured numerous facilities and admitted her to 2 different Corporate Facilities, but brought Mom back home with me in less than a week at each place. These Corporate places were beautifully decorated (don't be distracted by the shiny stuff) and the sales staff made many promises they would not do after Mom was there. The second place had a caretaker who told me she provided Mom with meals. I knew they didn't because I had been there with her. Their Director even confirmed to me Mom had not been cared for or provided with meals due to staffing issues. When talking to Mom's hospice Social Worker I was in tears and a nervous wreck. She asked if I had considered a Personal Care Home, which I had not. We toured 10 Homes in the area and found Lia's Personal Care Home. I could never fully express the comfort, peace of mind, love and gratitude we have with our "new family" at Lia's. They meet Mom where her needs are. The Corporate facilities promised they would develop a "Personalized Program" meeting the resident's needs. After Mom moved in, they did not do so and said she would have to adapt to their program established for other residents due to staffing. Lia's intimate home is not a large or corporate facility. Mom has been there almost 4 years now. Lia, Alex, Moni, Delores and others have been there all along. They love my mom and she loves them. They are easy to communicate with. Their home is always clean and orderly. They prepare delicious meals, and consider what each person enjoys. The residents are always clean and comfortable. I would be happy to talk with anyone who may be considering this wonderful home. If you are lucky enough to find availability and you all feel this is a good fit, don't hesitate.

I can't say enough about Lia, her family, and her staff. The care and attention she devoted to my stepmom over many years was so comforting since I live out of town. We can't say enough about the quality and devotion of their efforts for our loved one. Thank you.

If you are fortunate enough to find a spot open at Lias, do NOT pass on placing your loved one in her care!!! There are not words to adequately express how at peace I was by having my mother (with late stage dementia) cared for at Lias Personal Care Home until she passed 12-25-2020. She entered 3 months before Covid and it was purely a God send that we found availability with Lia. All of the residents clearly love Lia and her staff as did my mother. Lia treats them like her own parent. Home cooked meals, small number of residents, crafts, holiday parties, personal one-on-one round the clock care and not just medical care but also emotional care. Lia would play hymns for my Mom in her room and she would show her pics of her family. All of the little things that adds up to that personal touch you cant put a price on. We had looked for some time and would have thought this type of personal care would have been much more expensive than the average home, but it wasnt. It was the same if not a little less. But you cannot put a price on peace of mind and knowing that your loved one is 100% taken care of. I never had one complaint....EVER! Lia face timed with me as often as I wanted during Covid. She helped me make decisions on things mom needed. You wont find something like this anywhere else. Run....do not walk to get your loved one into Lias care!!! If anyone walk to personally speak to me, feel free to email me. Melissalaw68atgmail.com. Melissa H.

The best place in North Georgia. Lia and her staff and hands down the best there is. Lia is so nurturing and treats every person like they are her own parent. She was put on this earth to care for the elderly. If you can get in, I highly recommend it.

Lia and Alex cared for my mother for eighteen months before she passed this month. My family, relatives, and friends all agreed that we placed her in the right home. Mom had constant visitors and my schedule was not predictable and at no time was the home out of place and smelly like other homes I visited in the past. Mom was always clean and attended to. We grew to be friends with the owners that will continue now that mom is gone. We heard about Lia's from a daughter of one of the ladies living here. I think God lead us to this place. When ever there arose a problem we all huddled and found a solution. Lia and Alex prevented mom's dentist from pulling all of her teeth by spending more effort attending to her gums. I don't think mom would have survived that ordeal. They definitely kept her alive longer than I could. You have to form a team to take care of a patient. You just can't leave it to the home. I totally recommend Lia's PCH !

A Wonderful Experience for my Father! While it is always tough to place a loved one's care into the hands of another, I have to tell you! After researching the array of options and without a doubt, Lia's was the right choice! Her small and intimate residency with a great team provided a high level of personal care you simply won't get in one of the large corporate facilities. My Dad and I always felt at home where he was loved and became part of the family. I am forever grateful to Lia and Alex for all of your kindness and upmost quality of care - Thank You! #totallyrecommend!

This was by far the very best place for my husband. When I could no longer care for my husband, I was so overwhelmed. I went to visit several care homes. I knew when I went to Lia's I had found the home for my husband. It was so clean. I was looking for clean and ordor free. It was both. They worked so well with him and believe me that was not easy. They were so patient and so kind to him. They truly care about the people that they take care of. He was in Lia's for 2-1/2 years. I never visited that home that it was not spotless. EVER...... If I could rate it more than a "5" I certainly would.

I would love to give Lias personal home care a review! My husband was with Lias for almost 4 years and I was there everyday. The fine care that was given to him was exceptional. TLC is their first priority. When I had nurses visit him, they would always remark about the care given by Lia and, if they had a loved one, they would want them at Lias. Its a monumental decision when we must decide for our loved ones if they would do best having someone else care for them. If you are making that decision, I can assure that you will know you have made the right choice with Lias Personal Home Care.
