My wife passed Jan 5, 2024 and I moved into the Orchard on January 8th. Needless to say it was a very emotional time for me. The staff here took me under special care immediately. All of them are people persons who genuinely like you and seem to know what to do to comfort you in your time of need. I can see why The Orchard is number one of assisted care facilities in the area.

My Mother moved in to Orchard Athens one year ago. The staff are friendly, professional and very compassionate towards all the residents and have been wonderful to my Mother. The community is beautiful! There are lots of activities and Engagement staff who keep everyone active. As an employee at the Orchard AL in Athens, I have come to love each and every resident and their unique personalities. I love the people I work with and the engagement activities these residents, no matter which grove, have an opportunity to engage in. Rather suddenly, my loved one's dementia progressed to a point that I can no longer provide him the care in my home he deserves. Having been down the assisted living path in the past, I feared the level of care and environment I wish for him just simply doesn't exist. He is a highly intelligent and accomplished man who should be treated with dignity and respect, as well as someone who is not tolerant of an institutional setting. He most enjoys an aesthetically pleasing environment, friendly folks and please please DO NOT treat him like a baby! Take a tour of Orchard and you will be amazed!! It's simply perfect!! Mary Stribling and her team jumped through hoops to get Mr Mann admitted, literally overnight! I've never seen an operation with staff that work so efficiently together, everyone team member is "on the same page". Upon Mr Mann's arrival, he was greeted with the warmest welcoming from all staff, even the sweet sweet gal who's responsible for laundry service. This is professionalism at its best! My mother moved into Orchard in August 2020. I had heard wonderful things about Orchard communities from a friend in Atlanta. When I heard Athens was getting an Orchard community I was so happy. Orchard has been incredible to my mother and our family. The staff is very professional and warm and engaging too. They have done an amazing job creating a sense of community in such a short time. Orchard at Athens provided an excellent refuge for my Uncle. The employees, especially the administrators, facilitated his transition. Once established in his room ( a spacious, clean and lovely place) he flourished from the care, receiving his medication on time and enjoying healthy meals. Laundry, housekeeping and visits to the barber all worked beautifully. I must comment on the facilities at Orchard, which are bright and pretty spectacular, especially the "Main Street" atrium with the movie theater and scheduled activities. The staff excelled, including Coach Rusty, who helped with everything from IT problems, to serving as tour guide on sight seeing adventures. In the midst of the pandemic, Orchard established clear guidelines to protect their residents, communicating frequently with the families and continuing to run the facility with great efficiency. I was able to rest easy knowing my Uncle was safe, happy and receiving the very best care. We will always be grateful to the staff for their help.

Working with the Orchard family as an outside vendor who has spend a decade working on behalf of seniors, it is so clear how much this organization cares about their residents and families. From their individualized approach and plan for each resident to the caring staff, Orchard really sets the bar for how senior care should be! We moved my mother into Orchards at Athens in October of 2020. The staff has done an amazing job thoughout this pandemic to keep them safe and get them vaccinated quickly. The staff and leadership at Athens is amazing and works so hard to keep the residents active and engaged. The staff is just wonderful and I cannot say enough about them. They are very avaialble and quick to respond. It has been so nice during this time of seperation to know how our loved ones are being cared for. We could not be happier with our decision to choose Orchard at Athens.

I moved my mother to Orchard just over four months ago because she has advanced alzheimer's. One of the symptoms is that she easily gets extremely angry, when she is asked to perform simple tasks like getting dressed, eat, or go to the bathroom—and she frequently expresses that anger by screaming and tell the people who are trying to help her that she hates them. I can't imagine how difficult it must be to be on the receiving end of that kind of behavior, especially for people who never knew my mother before she was in this condition. I am unspeakably impressed at how calm, patient, and loving all the staff at Orchard are with her at all times, even when she is at her most hostile and combative. Only two years ago my mother, who had been a university professor and administrator, was still incredibly lucid, compassionate, and wise. That woman is still in there somewhere, and I'm grateful that the staff at Orchard seem to understand that even though they never knew her then.

After being at my wits end about finding my wife in a senior living home with a suitable dementia unit, Orchard Senior Living came to the rescue! The environment At Orchard is quiet, beautiful, and very conducive to to-notch resident care. Each room had a view of a beautiful courtyard, and low, easy listening music provided a relaxing environment. The staff is well-trained and very punctual, and they are very caring insofar as the health and well-being of the residents are concerned.

I feel compelled to write this as I am just leaving the community where my 94 year old mother is now in the hands of the care staff at the Orchard Athens... and I am literally crying tears of joy. After a three year search in trying to find the best possible situation for my mother who has been living with me and my husband and who suffers from dementia, I am still in shock that a place like The Orchard exists, and my search is over. There are no words eloquent enough to describe what you will find here. My mom needs Memory Care and if any of you have ever searched for a Memory Care facility for your loved one, you know that a typical scenario involves one big room and a table with puzzles and games. Not at the Orchard. My quite active mother has the run of the ENTIRE community, including outdoor gardens and patios, and remains safe and secure, as the entire community is a secure establishment . And the decor? Unbelievable!!!! We should ALL be so lucky to live in surroundings as warm and inviting as these!!! From the moment you walk in, you will be DAZZLED by the unique and exciting decor which again, while being new and current, is cozy and welcoming. You will WANT to come and spend time with your loved one!!! But MOST importantly , what I want to stress, is the incredible staff that permeates this place. OMG - I have never seen so many caring, compassionate, capable and eager care givers in my life, and believe me when I tell you , I have looked!! My mom is a challenge and because I have been her care giver for over 6 years, my standards and expectations were high. They have SURPASSED my highest expectations and continue to surprise and amaze me at every turn. I now know, with every fiber of my being, that my own mother is actually receiving BETTER care than I could ever give her!!! I write this for those of you that have been looking for the place that you feel you could trust your loved one to be properly cared for and who could give you complete peace of mind as you walk away. This is that place. Having said that, keep in mind they are BRAND NEW and with that comes some logistical challenges, but each and every day they rise to the occasion and address every need. They are an exceptional group of people and I am so blessed to have been led to them. Thank you Orchard Staff, from the depths of my heart.

We moved my mom into this incredible residence almost a month ago, her dementia having exceeded the personal care available at her previous assisted living facility. The administration and staff have exceeded our expectations and have been unfailingly responsive.
