The time had come for my mother to transition from independent living to assisted living and I truly feel we've made a great decision to be a resident of the Oaks at Acworth. Her move was about 90 days ago, and the transition couldn't have gone any smoother. Everyone whether it be management, community relations, wellness, nursing, lifestyle, food service to maintenance has been more than accommodating to not only my mother but to myself and our family. The staff to resident ratio is amazing and every staff member makes it a point to know everything about the residents beyond their name, level of care or even food preference. If we have a concern or question it has been addressed in a timely manner every time. We make it a point to visit often and we are welcomed with open arms every time we walk into the Oaks. These types of moves are never easy for any family, but I know my mother is in great hands!

In November we moved my mother into The Overlook. Although she was only there for a short time due to the progression of her pancreatic cancer, the Overlook and Heartland teams gave her (and our family) amazing support. Becky was always helpful with all of our questions and everyone showed a caring side that can only come from this being a calling on their lives. Our family will be forever grateful for how mom was cared for during the last weeks of her life. Thank you!

A few weeks ago, I called the Oaks at Acworth and spoke with Becky who was the Executive Director. My father had been in the hospital and was told they were going to be discharging him, sadly, due to his current condition, he would not be able to return home where we wanted him to be. I had to find a place for him to go and didn't know where to begin.I was frantic and I didn’t know what to do. I called the Oaks at Acworth and I am pretty sure that the caller could tell I was a complete mess!Becky took the time to explain the steps needed so I wasn’t just calling anywhere dad wasn’t qualified to go. Becky was very informative, kind and genuinely appeared to really care.Unfortunately, my dad didn’t qualify to live at the Oaks at Acworth but I now had the right tools to move forward and find the appropriate place that could meet my father's needs.I am a believer in reading reviews to research a business and felt that if you are like me, this will help you in your search to consider reaching out.I was so glad I did.Thank you, Becky, for being the compassionate person you are helping me and my dad.

We are very thankful and grateful having our Mom at this beautiful place. Most of all having Becky as Executive Director, we noticed a nice change in the attention of our requests. She is being eager to help giving us time and attention. We are pretty sure that with her knowledge and experience, this Community will thrive. We want to thank the staff for all their relentless work on this difficult times, taking care of Seniors and making sure that everyone is always there for them. My wife and I are entertainers for seniors in communities all over Metro Atlanta. Weve been doing this for the last 12 years so weve been to dozens of communities and met hundreds of residents and activity directors. In 2019 we had the pleasure of singing at Overlook at Cedarcrest for their family Thanksgiving luncheon. Walking in the door we were wowed by the beautiful greatroom with its soaring ceiling, huge fireplace and beautiful furnishings. It felt like we were at a vacation lodge. As the residents came in, the staff patiently and gently helped them find their seats and it was heartwarming to see so many family guests joining them. The food was delicious and the conversation was lively. Congratulations to the staff and to Activity Director Alicia Ayre who clearly loves her job and the residents and who was in charge of this beautiful event.

I am glad to see they have a new quality activity director. Alicia Ayre really cares about residents and engages them with her dancing singing and laughter when I come to play the piano. She works hard to provide all the little special touches. Its a hard job and she makes it look easy!.

My wife was in the Memory Care Unit for a years and a half. The Overlook staff took such wonderful care of her and gave her so much love that I wished to give something back. Accordingly, I have provided musical entertainment during lunch for the residents since my wifes death as a way of saying, Thank you. I was pleased to see that Overlook received five stars in its latest public health inspection. The living conditions are fine, but the love that the staff gives makes Overlook at Cedarcrest outstanding.

My mother lived at The Overlook for 4 years! She passed in January literally surrounded by her 2nd family - - the caregivers of Overlook. They loved her and she loved them. The building is beautiful, and not too big, and not too small. Her living room was the one pictured in the gallery with the red chair! Gina, Kim, Laurette, Pam, Serika, Natelie, Tosha, Wau... and SO many others (its a long list) were my rock (and Moms) and they truly love their residents.

A warm and friendly staff greet you when you walk in and there is always activities going on with lots of participation for the residents. Great location and the facility has the feel of a northwest lodge. Wonderful!

My mom lived at the Overlook for a year and a half. The staff is amazing. Gina and Eric are doing an amazing job. I had to go by this week which was bittersweet for me but it was great to see all the wonderful staff. The current staff has worked very hard and received a 100 in their state inspection. Way to go Gina, Eric and all the staff!! Well done!!

This place is amazing if you are looking for a place to call home for your parent or loved one. If you go check it out asked for Gina, she was so good with my mom. And the whole staff treated us like family.

I have a friend that lives at the Overlook At Cedarcrest and is treated with the utmost respect and excellent care from all the staff! It is a beautiful environment and all of the staff are so loving and caring. I love to visit there and it makes me feel good knowing that he is taken care of and is happy . It is truly a place you would love to call Home!

My mother was a resident at Cedarcrest and felt very comfortable there. She passed away peacefully in her room at CedarCrest last evening. The staff at CedarCrest was extremely caring, to both family and my mother. They genuinely cared for her! My mother enjoyed the beautiful view from her room. The faculty has a hospice nurse to aid families and dying loved ones pass comfortably in their own apartment when the end of life approaches. My mom did not want to die in a hospital. I am grateful she was able to fulfill that wish. I am also very grateful to Lisa, a kind employee, and the hospice nurse who both took the time to share affectionate details about her with me and console me in my grief. My heartfelt thanks to all who cared for her! Namaste

My grandmother lived in the memory care unit at the Overlook for almost a year and a half. She never fell once or had to go to the hospital, unlike the previous facility. The staff to patient ratio was much better. We really liked how small the memory care unit was, that way we knew she wouldnt be forgotten because the staff desk had a clear view to every room. In her final days, the staff was so great and loving towards her. You could see how much they truly cared, which made us feel good about having her there. Also, the price that was originally given was what we were charged, not nickel and dimed for every little thing like some facilities. God forbid someone had to reassure her that her dreams werent real... that took an extra 2 minutes, so that will be an extra $5 a day. I mean after all she was in memory care. The Overlook truly felt all inclusive. They also set us up with Heartland hospice to add an extra level of care for her and they were so great as well. I highly recommend this facility.

God led us there through my good friend Louise and my mother was the first resident. She is loved and very well cared for as is my father who visits every day. Outstanding staff, exceptional facility. I want my mothers last years to be filled with love, compassion, understanding and happiness. She has made great friends as she is very social and I thank God for providing the answer to our familys need.

My mother, Margie, moved in when Overlook opened (Jan 2015) and she has been very happy and well cared for by the wonderful staff at Overlook. She is making new friends and likes the food and beautiful facility (not too big...not too small). Everyone is very kind and understanding of the special needs of each resident.
