Came in for rehab after breaking my ankle. With the exception of one night, their care was top notch. Rehab has worked with me to reach my goal of going home. Facility is clean and comfortable. Food is above average for facility food. CNA even figured out how to get me sweet tea.

The buildings and maintenance are wonderful. The residents are fantastic. The grounds are maintained fairly well, but not always with safety in mind. For example, sidewalks are uneven and not level with the ground beside them. The employees often speed into the campus with music blaring and looking at cell phones. Very scary. Lastly, communication between administration and residents could be better. While the tennis court is excellent, the pool is tiny. The gym in Canopy Oaks building is top-notch. All that being said, I would not want to live anywhere else in Tallahassee at this stage in my life. ❤

I grew up in Tallahassee and knew there was nowhere else to retire except Westminister OAKS. We had driven out here several times before my husband and I actually attended a meeting to commit; that was more than 11 years ago. I have been very happy at WO. The staff is excellent and very kind. They are knowledgeable in their duties and attentive to the residents. The food is delicious in the dining room and the service personnel do almost all they can to assist us. I feel extremely safe in this community and I feel that my neighbors are family. I am so very satisfied at the independent location on Diplomacy Circle that I hope to never have to move into a more hospital oriented location.

The entire staff demonstrates that they love their job. Nobody acts exasperated. The staff actually comes up to ME to let me know the latest about my mother before I can even ask them. This is the entire staff. Administration and the Medical Technicians. The administration eliminated the confusion often associated with transitioning in the process of moving into a new Facility. They handled all the potential hurdles. The maintenance crew keeps the place beautiful. The Bingo facility is of Bingo olympics caliber. My mother was apprehensive to move. Now; she feels so safe and surrounded by friends, yet can retreat to her room to nap at any time. Great staff at all levels and duties. ??

I have worked here for over 4 years as an outside contractor. I was very impressed with how much respect the employees give to all the residents. It is great to hear a 'Good 'Morning' or a 'Thank You'. I have met a lot of caring people who have the desire to make the residents feel right at home and very comfortable. This is a very active community and a wonderful place to live.

I’ve been in Tallahassee since 1964 with my family. After my wife passed in 2001, I did not want to be in that house alone. I signed up with another company initially, but after the recession hit, they weren’t able to come up with the money for construction. That was disappointing, but I knew that Westminster Oaks was the only place in town I would consider coming to. As a World War II veteran and retired professor of Florida State University after 31 years, I was pleased to see so many friends here. At 91, I’m somebody who needs to be active and there are numerous activities here. I’m involved in all kinds of things. I’m on the resident council, table tennis team, and I develop and maintain the website for the military veterans group. I routinely workout in the fitness center and I’m careful about my diet. I cook my own meals or go to the restaurant. The Westminster Oaks organization is run exceptionally well. I love my home on Diplomacy Circle. Both my children are very pleased with this community. When they visit me I can accommodate them without putting them in a hotel.

I knew I would be coming to Westminster Oaks when I retired. My sister lived at Westminster Shores in St. Petersburg and I would often visit her. I wanted to be in a nice community here in Tallahassee. Upon my first visit, everybody was friendly, the place was clean, and there were many opportunities to do things. The staff is wonderful, they look after us like we’re family. My children and I often visit each other and go on mission trips to Africa. I enjoy cultivating my rose garden and spending time with my cat. I appreciate my privacy, spacious home and wonderful neighbors. I love living here.

Mary and I have been here almost seven years and weve always known it was the best choice for us. Westminster Oaks has exceeded our expectations, even they were high from the time we heard about the place. Our friends live here, including those from Florida State University, local and state government and my wifes best friend. We feel at home. Our home was nearly built when we moved in and we had the opportunity to choose the furnishings, fireplace and screened-in porch we wanted. This community encourages activities with the fitness center, educational opportunities in the Maguire Center, and recreational events. We truly appreciate the level of kindness and responsibility of the Westminster Oaks management in accommodating our needs on an ongoing basis. Truthfully, I cant think of one complaint about Westminster. These are good people out here. They really are!
