Have had my family member is several rehabilitation facilities recently. Mostly bad experiences. This facility was such a refreshing change. Staff is so kind, considerate and helpful. Many activities available for the residents and short term patients, they looked happy (unlike the prior facilities we encountered). This was the first day there but at this point I would highly recommend.

Plaza West Rehab maybe one of the best in Sun City Center and they are for sure award winners, but like any other medical, rehab place some very important things can be better. They leave my mom without water until we visit and ask for it. They put her on oxygen without the water bottle that her nose was so dry it was bleeding, they didn't make sure she swallowed her pills, I found one on her bedroom floor. Very important things go unnoticed with patients relying 100% on staff. The staff are super nice but they work very hard and they have too many patients to be able to provide better care. Management needs to hire more employees. I will be asking the Dr to send mom home and arrange for rehab at home. We are fortunate we have that choice, God be with those who don't.

Very big facility with a lot of opportunities for the residents. We always have transfers from this Plaza to Tampa, Sarasota, Clearwater and surrounding areas. Very easy pick up and drop off with our spacious vehicles.

My parents lived near Freedom Plaza for many years. When it became difficult for them to maintain their own home, I explored Freedom Plaza Independent Living. This move offered life care, a lovely apartment, many social activities, dining, and more. After several years, my Mother transitioned to Freedom Plaza Assisted Living. It is always difficult to move a parent multiple times, but due to outstanding Freedom employees and thoughtful caregivers she is thriving.

My husband and I moved into Freedom Plaza Retirement Community in Sept. 2014. I have been a resident since then very happily.!! Unfortunately my husband passed away in May, 2015. ROC was helpful to me in arranging a memorial service even though it was such a short time that we had lived here. Since then, I myself needed therapy after a brief hospital stay because of a hip nerve issue. The care at Plaza West was quite good. Upon return to my apartment I was given IRD (in room dining) meals for a period of time which was very helpful. Aside from the death and health care issues, this is quite an active facility with off campus excursions, available transportation to doctors, grocery shopping, banking and various churches on Sunday. There are sports activities ( tennis, pickle ball, shuffle board, corn hole and indoor card and other games). There are 2 gyms that are fitted with equipment plus and indoor and an outdoor pool.!! All in all this has been a wonderful place for me for 9 years with friendly residents and very helpful staff. Dining is another most pleasant experience with 6 dining rooms, wait staff, and good kitchen help plus there is a casual dining Grill with a limited grocery shop. Come join us for a most pleasant living experience!!

A beautiful active community with lovely apartments and amenities at your fingertips. God has a different plan for me, as residents do no pass their home generation to generation even under trust. Are their subsidized units for first responders/different abled /military and life long single individuals? Most of us whose purpose is to assist all people would welcomed to join their community. Being active in their community has brought me many blessings while my parents reside there. I have had the privilege of meeting new and interesting people; many service men and women; listening carefully to their stories of unselfish acts to keep us all safe over the years. The wisdom and talent residing under on roof astonishes me. Everyone deserves a prestige, world-class place to retire so they may pay it forward with kindness, joy in their heart and love. I continue to witness and participate in countless random acts of kindness to their neighbors, resident family members and visitors. I pray for peace and comfort for every resident and staff member who may have shared a sliver of themselves, enlightened and allowed my mother and father to do the same with their common choice to live and thrive at Freedom Plaza. Bravo!

Reviewed all of the senior living facilities. This got my best review. Facilities are great. The food is outstanding in six dining rooms. The services are also above par. We have visiting doctors, and our transportation department takes us to our doctors appointment for free. We also get free transport to churches, shopping and banking. Onsite 24 hour EMT. All the physical therapy you may need and a complete workout facility with 2 pools. All the golf you may want on site. The place and people are very friendly.

We are so glad that we moved to Freedom Plaza. Our only regret is not having moved here sooner. It is a wonderful place to live with so many amenities, a great staff and a community of other friendly residents. The apartments are spacious (bigger than anywhere else we looked) and we have a lovely lanai. The six dining rooms, all with different themes, are refreshing. In short, a great place to live and enjoy life on 140 acres of lovely, landscaped grounds including an 18-hole executive golf course. Finally having the option for higher levels of health care right here helps to provide some peace of mind if needed.

I have lived at Freedom Plaza for 7 months now and have been impressed with the friendliness of the residents, the food quality, facility cleanliness, and responsiveness of the management. There are activities for a wide variety of interests. The Marketing staff members get friendly greetings from the residents. That is a great sign. No buyers remorse! I am curious about the 2 one star reviews. The writers' names are not in the resident directory. Makes me wonder if they are false reviews.

My mother decided to move to Freedom Plaza after my father died. It was the best decision she made not only for herself but also for her children. For mom, she had a beautiful stress free apartment( i would have loved to have her apt) with an amazing view of the stream and golf course. She didnt have to worry about housework. There were activities all day and evening that she could chose from. There are 6 dining rooms to have dinner in, and if she didnt want to make lunch or just wanted a snack she could always visit the grill. The other residents and staff form a community and look out for each other. For us children having mom at Freedom Plaza gave us a piece of mind and security that we would not have otherwise had. Knowing that if mom didnt trip the motion detector in the morning she was checked on. If she didnt show up to dinner and hadnt let people know she was going out, she was checked on. If staff noticed that something "just wasnt right" with mom, they let us know. Mom has now moved to the assisted living building. When i come to visit I stay at the big house. I walk in the door and am greeted with a "Hi Sharon, hows your mom doing?" Anywhere in the building I go, i get asked that by residents and staff. Its incredible how much people still care. I can't say enough about the care that she recieves at the assisted living facility. The director of nursing makes sure that all the staff make the residents feel that they are truly cared for, that is their home, that they are being cared for by family. Since I cant be here myself caring for mom, Freedom Plaza is the next best thing and the closest to home you will ever find

When looking for a place for a final retirement home my wife and I wanted 3 things: A warm climate, continuing care, and a military affiliation. We found all of these at Freedom Plaza and much more. The people are very friendly, the staff treats us like family, and the grounds are beautiful. We also love having a golf course on the campus. It truly is stress free living in a country club atmosphere. My wife and I cannot think of a better place to live.

I surveyed or visited a half dozen CCRCs in Tampa Bay area and found Freedom Plaza fit my needs best. I am one of the best sales persons for the GVT apartments. The apartment is roomy and closed car and golf cart garages come with as well as a climate controlled store room. There are 14 apartments in each GVT units and I lucked on one with great neighbors that are much like family. Residents in all Freedom are friendly and helpful. Meal are very good. Management of dining services and all of Freedom listen to us and respond.

Freedom Plaza, a CCR facility, is a very large complex. The BIG HOUSE (as we residents call it) is a large seven story building with 6 dining rooms plus two private rooms for private parties. Several rooms for a variety of meetings and events are available. An Auditorium for big events, movies, Bingo, resident performances etc. are used constantly. A full time nurse and EMTS are on staff at all times. Residents have doctors who come to the facility for appointments. A transportation staff to take residents to Doctors, hospitals, appointments and even events and shows in the area. An indoor pool and spa, exercise room plus several fun clubs with the necessary equipment are all available. WHAT A PLACE. MORE: Golf View Terrace (known as GVT, the Out House or Government Housing) is a separate area of the Campus. Their are 6 separate apartment buildings with 14 units per building, a golf cart garage and a normal garage with an additional storage room for each resident. In this area an outdoor pool and spa with indoor exercise equipment are in the center of this complex. Two Tennis courts and four pickleball courts plus a beautiful 18 hole Golf Course and Club House for several events. Their is so much more but How Much More Does One Need? MORE: Because Freedom Plaza is a CCR Complex, they have an Assisted Living Building, a Memory care lockdown building plus a large rehab, skilled nursing and additional Assisted living apartments available. My wife (Linda) and I have lived here going on ten years. We both feel we are here to stay. We have never wanted our children to be concerned about our well being. Management does such a caring job threw all levels of employment, it would be very hard to find a better place. MORE: Personally, I have never been made to feel more welcomed and have made more friends here than any place I have lived before. My thanks to have this opportunity to voice my feelings.

My husband and I have lived in Freedom Plaza for 11 years. Our management is excellent. They always have time for resident input, and resident input drives many decisions and plans. The facilities are outstanding; we have interesting activities every day, and extensive sports facilities, including an 18 hole golf course and tennis courts. Our food is excellent, and EMTs are on duty around the clock. In reviewing the two 1 star reviews, I agree with Mr. Heym, they seem bogus. I have never heard of those people and their claims are clearly false. From a price/performance standpoint, you cannot find a better Forever Home.

My husband and I were thinking about continuing care senior living when we were 70 years old and had a plan to move when we were 75 years old. But on a visit to Freedom Plaza, we decided to become members of the Freedom Plaza Family then. We found it was better than advertised. Seeing all the activities Freedom Plaza offers, we decided we wanted that lifestyle while we were healthy enough to enjoy it. We would be living in a beautiful setting without the daily household chores and maintenance upkeep you have with a house. Common sense told us we would have more "free time and independence" than we had living in our home. Moving to Freedom Plaza was the smartest thing we ever did. Our friends in Virginia were very skeptical of our decision. But, as each one visited us, they said, "You made the right decision." We have maintenance free, care-free living, great food, housekeeping every week, live entertainment shows, 24-hour EMT, and a variety of clubs to join. It is very easy to make friends AND our Plaza West Health Center has a 5-star rating. The staff who care for us are GREAT! Don't wait. We have lived here 9 years and we are more active now than we were 9 years ago.

My wife, now deceased, arrived at Freedom Plaza fro New Hampshire six years ago after a number of visits and checking out other such facilities. I have a lovely two bedroom and bath unit overlooking the golf course on the sixth floor. It is quit and comfortable meeting all my needs. Two years after our arrival we moved my wife to the memory care facility (The Arbors) where she was treated with great love and care. While things change over time, management has done their best to continue to provide care and services throughout the years of outside challenges such as the Covid-19 pandemic. I would recommend Freedom Plaza to anyone seeking a continuing care retirement community. And don't wait so late that you cannot fully utilize all it has to offer.

When living in a private home became to much of a burden, we looked for some place to move too in order to make our living more manageable. Freedom Plaza was highly recommended and after checking it out we decided to move into one of their independent living apartments. Excellent decision. Maintenance problems are immediately taken care of and there is a weekly housekeeping service. When we first moved in, we ate our meals in the main dining rooms and when that became too difficult, because of health problems, we picked up our meals and took them to our apartment. Eventually, even that became too difficult for us to do and they delivered our meals to our apartment There are many events in the main building for entertainment and a large auditorium for special events including Town Halls where the director provides pertinent information and accepts questions on how to improve things. the staff are all very friendly and receptive to suggestions. There is also a transportation service for trips to doctors, grocery stores, shows, etc.. Another important factor in our decision is the nursing home and memory unit that one can progress to when and if that becomes necessary.
