My husband and I chose Westminster St. Augustine because we already knew it was an exceptional community. Since my father had lived here previously, we were familiar with its outstanding independent living, as well as the assisted living and continuing care available when needed. When my husband fell and broke his hip, he was admitted to the Westminster healthcare facility where he received excellent care from a skilled medical team and compassionate staff. He has since joined me in our new residence and continues physical therapy at the health center where the staff continues to provide ongoing support through recovery and any changes in needed care. We enjoy a welcoming community of friendly residents and helpful staff, excellent food and service in the beautiful dining room, and a full range of activities and fitness options that keep us physically, socially, and spiritually engaged. There is always something happening”fitness programs, events, outings, and volunteer opportunities. I highly recommend Westminster, St. Augustine to anyone looking for a maintenance-free, active lifestyle with access to ongoing health services and care.

We were attracted to Westminster St Augustine because we knew it is nonprofit”as a 501c3, their revenue is committed to their mission. I’m writing this as I sit with my dog under a canopy of blooming jasmine, enjoying the peaceful sounds of our courtyard fountain. When you tour here, you’ll see it’s designed to bring peace: homes with tall windows so daylight lifts the spiritwell-tended gardensshuttle drivers standing by in case you want a lift to the clubhouse or health center. Activities for everyone to keep learning, stay fit, and make social connectionsfactors important to longevity. I have been here just 7 weeks and the neighbors are welcoming to newcomers and quick with invitations to get involved. Plus, at Westminster St Augustine, rental fees include a monthly allowance for dining or other services. The restaurant-style menus include healthy ingredients known to support aging bodies. The waterfront campus is beautiful, with an abundance of birds to watch and paths to walk. I am glad we chose to age in place here, where we can have assistance when we need it both now and in future. Considering the number of 90th-100th birthday celebrations we’ve already seen here, I think it was a wise decision!

My husband and I are thrilled that we will shortly be residents at Westminster St. Augustine, located in World Golf Village, St. Augustine, FL. Over the past 8 years searching for a continuum of care environment, we have found it to be a very friendly, active community with a very helpful and compassionate staff. Residents can enjoy many social, educational, and fitness opportunities, while living in spacious, independent living homes, before progressing to assisted living and skilled nursing. It gives us much comfort to be part of a wonderful environment with continuum of care!

We visited Westminster St. Augustine seven years ago and were impressed with the beautiful setting, living accommodations, friendly staff, and programs offered. We moved to Westminster six months ago and are so happy to be in this beautiful, vibrant community. There are so many activities to engage the body, mind, and spirit! Our new home in Southpointe is lovely and our neighbors are a blessing. The Team Members have been so helpful and caring and have made every effort to make our transition as seamless as possible. Residents are friendly and welcoming. This feels like "home" now as we are making new friends and engaging in activities.

My husband and I moved to Westminster St Augustine in November. We echo the positive comments in other reviews. The friendliness, the beautiful campus, the plethora of activities and for us the relaxing atmosphere and the great food in the dining room. My husband enjoys dining and savors good food. We are cruisers and equate our WSA dining experience with that of the fine dining we love when cruising. There are excellent chefs and our servers are the best. We are very glad we chose to live at WSA!

My husband and I recently moved into Southpointe, the Independent Living expansion at Westminster St. Augustine. The exceptional leadership team and superior staff have been attentive and supportive to make certain that we feel welcomed and well-cared for. The Residents’ Council is actively engaged in making sure that we have a clear understanding of everything Westminster. No matter what we attend- spiritual offerings, educational selections, fitness classes, musical events, volunteer opportunities, special field trips or a Happy Hour- we have enjoyed meeting beautiful new friends as we navigate this new season of our lives. The monthly calendar is filled with a plethora of activities. Our home is lovely and our neighbors are an absolute blessing to us. We have dined with many new friends in the lovely dining room and/or lounge and enjoyed a sumptuous meal as we become better acquainted. As my dog and I walk or golf cart around the property several times each day, we are delighted to be on such gorgeous grounds. We are so thankful to be living at Westminster St. Augustine; it is an exceptional active living community with so many opportunities to engage with others and live life fully.

When Alex retired from his law practice in Atlanta in December 1999, we moved to St. Augustine’s Marsh Creek community, having built a new home that year in the very solid Marsh Creek community. We had no thought at that time of moving anywhere else, especially to a retirement community. Our four daughters were scattered around the country (Oregon, Ohio, Mississippi, Georgia) doing well with their families. While we had several friends who had moved from Marsh Creek to Westminster, we gave very little thought to the possibility of our moving into a retirement community. Our general thought continued to be Well, that will never happen to us, or why would we ever want to move again?! After awhile, though, we did begin to ask ourselves questions such as which of our four daughters is going to have time to be looking after us if we do have health problems, those conversations frequently ending with Is that fair to them? To our mutual surprise, in 2018, we did set aside our anti-moving thoughts enough to contact WSA Marketing Director Fritz Scholze, making an appoin tment to come out to WSA to look around a bit. Of course, Fritz had a very reasonable, fully reimbursable wait-list document for us to sign just in case we changed our minds, so we signed up on the wait list., still not seriously thinking about moving anywhere. However, the next couple of years saw the threat of Covid hit the area, as well as a couple of pretty serious hurricanes in north Florida In early 2020, we got a call from Fritz that a house was available in Westminster St. Augustine. Even though Westminster was closed down pretty tight due to Covid, we visited WSA’s available home, liked what we saw, and a couple of weeks later after much deliberation, decided to make the move to Westminster. In early July, we put our lifetime home on the market, obtained a fair price, and the rest is history. We told Fritz we were coming, and in late August 2020, though at the peak of Covid, we moved to Westminster Retirement Community. So did we make the right decision in moving to Westminster? Looking back to our 2020 decision to move, and forward to having lived here five years, the answer is YES. We have a solid home in WSA. The price we pay WSA is fixed, subject to reasonable cost of living increases. The WSA Health Center, as described to us in 2020, is available when needed (thus far, there has been no need by us). We do not own our home, but neither are we responsible for home maintenance issues when they occur. WSA Staff---maintenance, food service, activities personnel, health care-- are all very competent and good at their jobs. Resident activities-- whether physical exercises or first class entertainment-- are available virtually every day of the week, ongoing for whatever is needed or wanted. WSA management does a very good job and is available when needed, and corporate management appears fully competent in its WSA oversight responsibiities. So to answer our question, we believe we made the right decision to sell our home and move to WSA in 2020. We believe we can legitimately look back on the decision to move to WSA and say our decision was well made. And the real test is that our four daughters and nine grandchildren, all of whom visited our home before we moved to WSA and have visited our Westminster home on occasion during the last five years, believe we made the right decision at the right time. (And one more YES, we have written the above on our own without editing by WSA.)

My four-year residency at Westminster St Augustine (WSA) has been fulfilling and relatively hassle free. At the age of 87 I really appreciate the fact that everything I need is only a short walk away. Yes, I have a car, but at WSA I am unafraid to transition to the car free life. Maintaining my physical fitness is a priority in my life. At WSA every weekday I am able to walk to and participate in varied exercise programs specifically designed for seniors. And, to put the frosting on cake, all the physical fitness programs are included in my monthly fee; there are no nuisance extra charges!

Jan and I moved from Winter Park to St. Augustine in 2003 and as I approached the age of 80, we began to research retirement communities in Northeast Florida, visiting CCRC's in Gainesville, Ponte Vedra and Jacksonville. When we learned of Westminster St. Augustine (WSA, formerly Glenmoor), we first studied the Master Plan online, and I was very impressed with the geometric organization of the Plan and the abundant open space including the lakefront "Green Mile". When we first visited WSA we were very impressed with the architecture of the campus including the residences and the dramatic Clubhouse. After moving to WSA in March 2019, we were further impressed with the friendly residents from all walks of life and the WSA Staff. Shopping and medical facilities are nearby and the services provided at WSA couldn't be better including dining, fitness programs and many other activities both on and off campus. During the trying times of Pandemic of 2020, the Staff has been great, including the delivery of 5-course meals to our front door, whenever we ordered them. Amazing service all around. Well, now I’m six months in. I must admit I didn’t know what to expect. But when I met Fritz at WSA I knew I had a place that would make me very comfortable. The personnel, Here atWSA makes life easy for me, but it was very hard for them. I must admit I’m not easy. But I thank everybody because if it wasn’t for them from Fritz to Kirsten to Monica to Keri, who’s not here To the staff that feeds Us, To the many many activities that are there for everyone to do. I now feel. Like I belong here at WSA. The security, the bus system, to having people bringing me things I want from the kitchen from the pop-up store. Is so rewarding, I know I made the right decision to come here. The Hardest part I have and still do is remembering Everyone’s name. But guess what, OK that’s why I’m here. I forget everything and I don’t feel that awkward..it doesn’t take long to know you made the right decision. And I know I will be very happy here and I made the right decision.. It’s all because of the way the personnel takes care of you. I feel like I’m getting very spoiled. But if you ever met me, you would know I like to be Spoiled. Yes, Westminster Saint Augustine, has made me a believer that you can be happy even when you Get Old. Thank you everyone. Bobbi Feldman

My wife and I moved into Westminster St. Augustine about nine months ago. After a period of Marketing, we decided that Westminster St. Augustine was the place for us. Our home is beautiful and spacious coming with all new appliances and cabinets upon moving in. Any maintenance of our dwelling is handled by the maintenance team here at Westminster. The staff is friendly and helpful. They are here to make sure your life is fun and fulfilling. Our retired lives have never been so busy It’s hard work to keep up with all the things that are available to do. But there’s never an attempt to coerce you to join. It is so hard to believe that on 6.26 I will celebrate my 6th year at Westminster St Augustine! I joined the community rather reluctantly since I moved from my dream location on the intra-coastal. At the age of 71 with significant changes in health, I made the best and last move of my life. Best living accommodations, best services and new best friends. There is nothing boring about living here unless that's your desire. But why when there is an awesome menu of lifestyle alternatives. A few of my favorites are: live music, book club, dining specials exercise, volunteering, teaching, meeting new people, playing games, dancing, theatre and more. Here you can create your menu of enriching activities and if WSA doesn't have it, make suggestions and your voice will go far. I'm staying young, my healthiest as possible and vibrant! Hard to believe that on 6.26 I'll be toasting the beginning of my 7th and welcoming my best year at Westminster St Augustine.

My mother, Lois, has been in the skilled nursing rehabilitation area of Westminster St. Augustine, twice. Once in the spring of 2023 and most recently when she was discharged last week. I highly recommend this outstanding team of caring professionals. There were still many of the same healthcare team members (nurses, CNAs, staff, PT) who had been at the facility previously and remembered my mother. Lack of major turnover in staff is a great sign. The facility is clean, the staff supports and advocates for its patients and residents, the social aspects with music, games and mental stimulation is a full schedule. You can trust your family member here - I went every day, but honestly, but for helping my mother recover, I wouldn’t have needed to do so.

My entire experience (over a year & 1/2) has been nothing but positive. I transferred my mom to skilled nursing from south Florida during a bout with pneumonia. Then transitioned my mom to memory care on the 2nd floor at Westminster and now she is back in still nursing after a fall. The nursing and CNAs have all been caring and concerned while also showing compassion to my mom as well as myself. The facility is clean and welcoming. The entire staff (from the front desk, kitchen staff, maintenance, etc.) are always friendly, saying hello and calling most residents by their name. The food menu is varied, creative and looks and tastes good. The activity team is awesome, friendly very creative & does a wonderful job with activities for the residents & their families. If I had to ever go to an assisted living, memory or skilled center, Westminster would be my pick. They make me feel like family. I’m so happy to have found them and lucky enough to get into their facility. ‘©

Before moving to Westminster-St. Augustine in January of 2000, my husband and I lived in a 3500 sq.ft. home also located in St. Augustine, built in 2000.The Master Bedroom was on the first floor but our office was located on the second floor, up a very steep staircase. However, the major negative was the continuing need for maintenance...something was always needing to be repaired or replaced. It was expensive, time-consuming and stressful. At Westminster, we found a free-standing, three bedroom c.2000 sq.ft. home, all on one floor. All maintenance is taken care of by the friendly and competent staff, just a phone call away. We are in our mid 80's and are comforted by the options offered at the Health Center located on the WSA campus. It provides Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, Memory Care and Physical Therapy. An outdoor heated swimming pool is a special plus here. Because all living units have full sized kitchens, meal preparation is possible whenever we choose not to dine at the Club House dining room. A multitude of activities and programs, including golf, keep us busy as we wish to be. Choosing WSA has proven to be a very good decision. "Live Well and be Happy". Indeed!

For over 30 years I had lived in historic St. Augustine. At the age of 81 I decided I was tired of calling people to take care of my Marsh Creek home. Accordingly, I started visiting independent living through health care communities in northeast Florida. Finally I selected Westminster-St. Augustine because I found an apartment I loved with a view of a picturesque lake and a beautiful courtyard outside my door. And, it was only a 20 minute drive to St. Augustine but we are far enough from the ocean that we have not had to evacuate! Kindness and caring from both residents and staff have enabled me to be happy and comfortable here for over two years. Perfect W-SA is not ”-but Excellent, Yes. Beverly Segal.

My in-laws lived in a CCRC in Illinois. Their only regret was that they didn't move in earlier. They were in their mid 80's, so only got to enjoy the carefree life for about 15 years. We are in our mid 70's and all are friends say we're too young to make this move. We disagree. We want to be established in the community when one of us passes. We don't want to be forced to move and sell everything once that time comes. Many "baby boomers" are feeling as we do and are now moving into a CCRC. Great time in our lives to make new friends and be able to enjoy all the activities that are offered. WE LOVE IT ! I am Dianne, Mike's wife of 53 years and the above review was written almost 3 years ago. Today we feel the same. We love the campus, the staff, but mostly the people here who have become close friends. We toured over 40 CCRC's while RVing across the US. We decided on Westminster St Augustine and are very happy with our choice. WE STILL LOVE IT HERE !

My wife and I have lived in this CCRC for almost three years. Absolutely, the best decision we made ! We are in our mid 70's, have no children, and felt this community offered a support structure, sense of community, attractive campus, and a lifestyle within WGV that we wanted to experience. We made the important decision to move here a little earlier than most, however, we felt that by doing so we could take more time dealing with all the decisions necessary for such a huge life change and............do it together! Westminster St Augustine offers a few comforting facts, which are sometimes overlooked. For example, financial strength, prudent stewardship, and management commitment by the corporate entity which owns and manages this community. Westminster is financially strong (Fitch rating of A-), management's commitment is evident in our community every day and night! Is everything perfect ? The answer is obviously no, however, if there are issues or problems they are addressed, usually to a satisfactory conclusion. Westminster Communities of Florida owns and manages 22 communities in Florida, 10 of which are Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRC).

POOR EXPERIENCE As an Independent Living resident of Westminster St. Augustine, formerly Glenmoor, my experience was poor. I was a resident for over 4 years. There was a noticeable decline in service and lifestyle under Westminster’s management. For example, it took repeated requests and long waits for basic home maintenance. Food quality was poor. Yard care and basic upkeep were regularly delayed. My greatest disappointment was the care and services provided to my wife, a resident of the skilled nursing facility for over 9 months. Much of the time, nursing staff consisted primarily of agency personnel or temporary help. There was a lack of attention to daily needs and continuity of care. The facility was in poor condition e.g. floor cracks repaired with duct tape, stained and worn furniture. Management seemed satisfied with meeting only minimal requirements. If you are thinking of making a move to Westminster, and there is a possibility you may need the services of the health center, especially memory care, do your research and give the matter considerable thought.

Not only is Westminster St. Augustine a beautiful place, but it also has some of the nicest people living and working there! The Executive Chef prepares delicious meals, and the Lifestyle programs are enjoyable. My experience at the Health Center has been very good, with compassionate staff who provide high quality care. I would recommend Westminster St. Augustine to anyone!
