I took advantage of Holiday’s travel program and enjoyed a stay at DeSoto Beach Club. The guest room was beautifully decorated with beach theme, the hospitality/food gracious/delicious, and the managers were so energetic and attentive to all. What a nice experience!

What a great experience at Holiday Desoto Beach Club (a Holiday Independent Living Community)! The staff at this community is amazing! It is team work in all areas. The residents are warm and friendly and the food is awesome! They obviously have a great chef! General Manager, Kelley Yoder, has a positive attitude and love for the residents, which is reflected in all her staff.

I had to experience it before I could believe just how awesome this Holiday Retirement community really is in every way. The staff, led by Kelley Yoder (General Manager), treats the residents of this Independent Living community with loving care. The entire management team and staff work together in harmony to provide an enriched life experience. The residents themselves reflect the care and attention they receive and share in interesting activities both on site and out in the surrounding area. The meals are varied and delicious, three time a day. WOW, this is the Life!

To the gurl who said her sister was being over worked and management is rude to them. If you call being on your phone while your suppose to be working, skipping residents with their meals and sitting on the clock for over 30 mins at night while not doing what suppose to at night then boy Id love to be over worked

Desoto Beach Club is an awesome place to live. The management is top notch and cares and shows the utmost of respect. The food is great and the chef takes requests for residents needs. The staff go out of there way to help in any way possible and make you feel as you are part of a family. . The residents are very friendly and make all new residents feel welcome.

This place is fantastic. The administration and staff go out their way to help you in every way. Staff are pleasant, courteous and treat you with dignified. The food is very very good. The residents and and staff feel like family. The heated swimming pool is excellent for exercise.

Both my parents live at DeSoto Beach Club in Sarasota Florida. I have been very satisfied with the service and attention the DeSoto team gives their residents. The staff make every effort to accommodate the residents and provide a variety of activities and special events for their pleasure and entertainment. I am especially grateful for the overall care they are providing the residents during this Covid 19 pandemic. They make certain that necessary information is posted for the residents during the stay sheltered event. I was particularly impressed with the strict guidelines that are taken when someone enters the building thus providing a safe environment. After living here for almost a year, my husband and I feel very much at home and would not consider living elsewhere. We have nice accomodations, the food is good, residents are friendly, the management is very professional, thoughtful and caring, going out of their way to please the residents and make them feel right at home. This will be our second Christmas here and must say we are happy we moved here. The location of the facility is convenient for shopping most major stores and restaurants . In addition close to and in some cases within walking distance to doctors and dental, Sarasota Memorial Healthcare System including urgent care, and medical and labs. In the last year Whole Foods recently opened a new and large store also within walking distance . If you are not able to drive or walk bus service is available to take us our appointments. We feel so very much at home and contented at Desoto Beach Club here in Sarasota.

My mother-in-law has lived there for almost 6 years and absolutely loves it there. We have found the staff to be very in tune with her needs--well beyond what one would expect from an independent living community. She truly feels that it is her home. Each staff member (including each member of the management team) has taken the time to get to know her and is able to read her moods and anticipate her wants and needs. We honestly have had no issues with her care. In addition to making her feel at home, we feel welcome and comfortable there. We feel so fortunate to have found her a home there. Desoto Beach Club has consistently exceeded our expectations in all respects.

My mother has been a resident of the Desoto Beach Club for about 6 weeks now. She was lonely and bored by herself in a home that she was struggling to maintain. It took a while to have my mother decide to leave her home of 60+ years. Last winter, she did not want to go home, as she was staying with me to get out of the isolation of winter in the north. She finally made the decision to start anew. What a wonderful transformation for her! She is 87 and seems younger and is smiling all the time! My sister and I used A Place for Mom to help us find the perfect place for our mother. Desoto Beach Club was the clear choice. The first phone call and professional friendly manner was a great indication of how well run Desoto Beach Club is run. There was a significant difference in the initial phone calls and attention to detail when scheduling a visiting appointment with other independent living homes. This was the first sign that if the team cannot handle a phone call, how can they take care of my mother! The Desoto Beach Club team really helps you feel at home. It is a warm very friendly environment, the food is freshly made, which is important to my mother, and is served in a lovely, relaxing restaurant style. The team is truly a team. They are approachable, very friendly, and listen to concerns with immense patience and understanding. They do what ever needs to be done to be sure the residents and the family of the residents are happy. Upon our our visit, my sister and I found the residents to be very happy, friendly, smiling, clean and well attended. My mothers apartment, a one bedroom, is much larger than she had expected. She has many of her personal things which bring her comfort and joy. She asked for a personal lanai and the moment we walked in on the tour, I couldnt believe, she would be getting exactly what she wished. The only complaint from my mother is that she didnt do this years ago! Here is an update to my review. I couldnt figure out how to post another separate review. Hurricane Irma was on its way to Sarasota. My mother did not really understand the intensity of which we were to experience. This was a good thing as we did not want her to be upset by something she could not control. We were uncertain of the stability of our home, and found my mother had asked the managers if her family could come to the Desoto Beach Club as it was new construction and as suspected was built for Category 4 hurricanes. The team at Desoto Beach Club was not only welcoming, but very accommodating. Quite honestly I felt guilty to have such wonderful service and attention. There were quite a few non-residents who also took shelter at the Desoto Beach Club. The team at Desoto Beach Club took the sudden increase of guests in stride and treated everyone with great care. I was really impressed that they did have a plan in place for the emergency, and they actually implemented it gracefully. Everyone is supposed to have a plan and act upon it, but many do have a plan nor do they act upon it. The instructions for the residents were very helpful to enable them to stay calm and maintain as normal of a routine as possible. Thankfully we were all safe, and we barely felt as if there was a threat due to the care of the team. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Desoto Beach Club team and their facility. Such a pleasure to know my mother is truly in the best place for her health, mentally and physically! Our thoughts and prayers go out to all who are affected by Irma and wish you a speedy recovery!

I go all over the state working for a medical company and I visit a lot of places like this and I must say this is one of the nicer ones. I spoke to a couple who lives there and that had very good things to say, li,e the food is good, staff is friendly, and the rooms are spacious.

Im a healthcare worker and had to drop off something to one of our patients. Very clean and beautiful senior residence. Lots of activities and a busy dining room with wait staff. The one bedroom apartment that I visited even had its own balcony. Cant say much else since I didnt take a complete tour.

My parents have recently become residents of The Desoto Beach Club, and they couldnt be happier! Their neighbors at the Club are very warm and welcoming, and it is a very close knit environment. Mom is an 87 year old fragile diabetic with many health concerns. Family Home Health maintains an office at the Beach Club, so there is a wellness nurse available for consultation 5 days a week. This is great for our familys peace of mind! The managers are very professional, and extra special kudos go out to Kittie, Cheryl and Luke who I have personally had interaction with.They have really gone out of their way to welcome my folks. Its great that my parents are in a safe yet independent and HAPPY environment where their every meal is in a restaurant- type dining room (also included). I 100% recommend the Beach Club as a very affordable and classy option for retirement living. Kathleen Glover,RN
