We toured a few ALFs while trying to pick a place for an aging parent. The Canopy was by far the nicest. The whole place felt very warm and inviting. We had a wonderful tour guide, Ms. Tabatha, she was so sweet and helpful! The Canopy is definitely at the top of our list.

I had tour this place over 2 years ago in 2022 loved it but was farther than I wanted to be from our loved one. When we moved to Plant City in 2024 it was the first place I went to and it is just as nice and wonderful as it was in 2022. I even think the place is better now. Special thank you to Rachel. She work with us to get our mom moved in quickly, and even is able to get her to come out of the room and join in event and meals! Never thought it would be happen.

If you are looking for a place for your loved one, I highly recommend The Canopy of Walden Woods. They are a safe, warm, loving, community. The nurses are constantly on the go, no sitting at the desk they are always tending to someone's needs & they do it with love & respect for each resident, they have a lot of activities, The place is very clean, the atmosphere is relaxing & peaceful. Music playing most of the time. Activities for the residents & their family's. You can rest assured The Canopy is definitely a place to consider.

The facility is beautifully decorated and very clean. It never has an odor like most elderly homes do. The care staff love the residents they help. There is a sense of community and belonging. The new Executive Director and Director of Nursing care about all the residents and it shows. Sheila at the front desk makes sure family and resident concerns are addressed and resolved. The Canopy staff work together to make the facility a truly great place for elders.

My mom is 90 years YOUNG and this was a difficult move for her at first, she thought she was being forced to give up what she called her independence. We searched all over Hillsborough and Polk County and decided we wanted a newer facility and local so we could visit her often. In the beginning there were a few concerns but when we brought them to their attention they were addressed immediately. This is to be expected - there are learning curves in life, and this was an adjustment for all of us. I am beyond thankful for the director Cheryl. My Mom said she doesn't think she ever goes home and even after a long day at work, or no matter when she sees them, she makes a point to speak to them and call them by name and make them feel special. Thank You Cheryl. What you do does not go unnoticed and you are appreciated! My home is now very happy in her new HOME!

They don't have a wound care that is consciously taking care of my grand parents. When I asked the nurse about giving a message to wound care she had the audacity to ask me why my grandmother (who is in memory ward) didn't tell the wound care nurse. She's in memory care, not her responsibility. It was like herding cats to get these nurses and staff to work together. Feel free to call me and ask me. I would not put my parents or grandparents in here. Time to move.

My family was very hesitant of my grandparents going to an assisted living facility. I have to admit...I was too. It took them a couple months to get adjusted but now they love it. My grandmother calls all the staff by first name like she has known them forever and every time the director sees her, she goes out of her way to make her feel special. As of last week my husband's grandmother is now a resident, and we are blessed because now we can visit them in the same place, and we know they are in good hands.

We were very worried about placing our grandmother into assisted living but this place is amazing! Of course in the beginning there were ups and downs but the new management team truly cares about their residents. I highly recommend The Canopy to anyone searching for a loving community.
