Moving my 84-year-old mother into St. Mark Village was one of the best decisions our family has ever made. Like many families, we were nervous about our mother leaving the home she had lived in for decades. While we knew it was time, we also knew it would be an enormous life transition. We were hopeful she would settle in over time, we never imagined how quickly she would come to love it. From the very beginning, the move-in experience was exceptional. Every person we encountered was patient, welcoming, kind, and genuinely invested in making sure my mom felt comfortable. They didn't just help her prepare to move into a a condo, they helped her feel at home. As her daughter, I truly felt like I had a personal move-in liaison throughout the entire process. Every question was answered, every detail was anticipated, and the transition was far less stressful than we ever imagined. Today, just a few months later, she tells us all the time how happy she is. She has made friends, enjoys the beautiful campus, loves the activities, and absolutely LOVES the food (we hear about it almost daily!). The sense of community has been incredible. After losing our father and eventually giving up the ability to drive, life in her home had become increasingly isolating. She often tells us that the independence she has now is worlds different. She independently attends chapel, which truly feels like a real church service, something you can't say about every retirement community. She can get her hair cut and colored, pick up and send mail without leaving campus, have her medications delivered through their Walgreens partnership, and enjoy multiple dining options, including what feels like a fine dining restaurant with rotating chef-inspired menus, along with several daily staple options, full-course meals, a casual caf©, and even a coffee house and pizza restaurant opening soon. She has regained so much of the independence and social connection that had gradually been slipping away. What has impressed us even more is seeing the value of a true continuing care retirement community when life takes an unexpected turn. Shortly after moving in, my mom faced a serious medical issue that required hospitalization and surgery. Knowing she was returning to a community designed to support older adults - with caring staff, resources close at hand, and a system built around aging in place - gave our entire family tremendous peace of mind. We simply couldn't imagine navigating that experience if she were still living alone. As an adult daughter, there is no greater gift than hearing your parent say, "I love living here." If you're considering St. Mark Village for yourself or someone you love, I cannot recommend it highly enough. The beautiful campus is only part of what makes it special. The people are what truly make it feel like home, and they have exceeded our expectations in every possible way.

Jeff the Social Service Coordinator was incredible throughout my client’s stay. He consistently went above and beyond to assist and always handled everything in a timely and efficient manner. I never once had to follow up or remind him to complete anything ” his reliability and follow-through were exceptional. My client was very nervous about being in a rehab setting, and Jeff made her feel comfortable, supported, and at ease from the beginning. He was attentive, compassionate, and highly professional every step of the way. We truly cannot say enough good things about him. We continue to be increasingly floored by the experience at St. Mark Village! After touring numerous facilities, Dad and Mom knew that St. Mark Village was home during their very first visit. Their first 5+ years in Independent Living were phenomenal. They immediately got plugged in to the fantastic activities and developed deep friendships with staff and residents. In 2025 they moved over to Highland Lakes Assisted Living. In this smaller environment, the family feel is even more prominent. The staff operates as a family not only with one another but also with the residents and even the families of the residents. It is hard to describe how fully invested they are. The culture is second to none! Falls and hospital stays required that Dad be cared for in Skilled Nursing/Rehab for an extended period. Just as in the Assisted Living, the staff in the Healthcare facility embraces the residents and their families with genuine passion, care, and absolutely the "best in class" therapy. Not only did they nurture Dad back to a place that no doctor believed he could achieve, but they also made provisions for him to return to Assisted Living. We chose St. Mark Village for the culture and everything that it stands for but when a resident needs a higher level of care, that is where the rubber hits the road - and where St. Mark Village totally shines. The way that the staff loves my parents has taught me to embrace this time with them even more than I may have otherwise, had I not experienced their example of Christ's love. Thanks to each and every one of you. I wish that I could mention every exemplary staff member individually but there are so many, I know I would miss names. Y'all go far above your assigned roles and your passion is contagious! You are family...

I hesitate to say just how great this place is in case it is so packed I cannot get my husband in again. EVERYONE there are exceptionally skilled caring and compassionate. This rehab is spotless and never never smells. The staff are so attentive and support both patient and their families. We have had to use this rehab about 3 times in 18 months. It is our number one choice and the social workers at the hospital privately agreed. From the CNAs, OTs, speech therapists, OT, RNs LPNS & Social workers. - outstanding!!!

St Mark is a true village. I've only been here about 6 weeks and the other residents could not be friendlier or more inviting. The catch phrase is "you're going to love it here." The food is wonderful, especially when the chef is in his. He's on a much deserved vacation currently. The staff is happy, the accomodations are spot on and the activities are varied, healthy, and very enjoyable. It doesn't feel commercial here, it feels like family and friends spending quality time together.

For someone with Alzheimer's, rehab can be a frustrating place. For their family, it can be terrifying. But, I can tell you that my dad's stay (almost a month and a half), was nothing but amazing! Anyone that is looking for a rehab facility to place your loved one that suffers from Alzheimer's, or any other dementia, this is the place! Below are a few points that highlight the wonderful work St. Mark Village Rehab does: Initial Tour: Lisa is such a great resource. She answered all of our questions and made us feel very comfortable during the tour. I was able to chat with the Director of Nursing, and she was very open and inviting. They both continued to check on my dad during his stay. Caregivers on the Floor: It's hard for me to believe that we could find a more caring and competent staff. The staff listened when I shared what my dad likes, how to approach him, and what he can do. My dad is no longer able to communicate these things, so it's so important for them to embrace this information. And they did spectacularly. They were willing to work as a team to get my dad healed and back to his Memory Care facility. I could tell they love what they do and truly care about the people they rehabilitate day in, day out. Nurses: From day one, they worked so hard to keep my dad safe and on the road to recovery. He couldn't have asked for better medical care. They were very communicative and upfront. I appreciated the open lines of communication. Physical and Occupational Therapy: These guys and gals were the true MVPs! My dad's strength didn't just come back to baseline, it blew past it. My dad's disease has progressed to the point that it is taking his physical abilities now. So, when they got him to consistently walk further than he has in the last year, it gave me an enormous sense of joy. He is thriving at his Memory Care facility because he is now able to walk to activities again. They even took the time to get to know him and understood how to connect with him. I couldn't be more grateful. Housekeeping: My dad's room was always so clean. The housekeeping staff took great pride in their work, and that showed. Social Worker: Jeff walked me through everything I needed to know about the transition to rehab and back to my dad’s facility. He was very prompt with his responses to my emails and questions. His help was very much appreciated 🙂 I hope this helps anyone looking for a rehab facility for their loved one that suffers from Alzheimer's.

My Mom, Dee G, moved into St. Mark's 2017. We both liked the fact that it is a 'Continuing Care Community' which means Mom has a home no matter what her level of care is or what her money situation is as time progresses! A year prior, when Mom was living alone in a villa, she went to one of St. Mark's luncheons, spoke with their residents, toured the facility and the rooms. She then had a plan for her future. A year later, she said she was 'ready to move' and it was a huge relief for me. Even our doctor would like her Mom to move into St. Mark's and you can't get a better referral than that! Shortly after Mom moved in, she had surgery and radiation for breast cancer. St Mark's took Mom for her daily radiation treatments for 6 wks. I couldn't since I worked. She could get her dinner brought up too. It took a huge amount of stress off my shoulders! Her one bedroom unit is very nice. The food in the dining room is very good. In fact, I ate with her on Sundays. The staff is very, very nice and always willing to do what they can to help the residents. They have many activities, programs, day trips, events & exercise classes. There is no doubt, that down the road I too, when the time comes, will move into a 'Continuing Care Community!' It's the smart thing to do! P.S. My mom just passed away. I want to thank the staff at St. Mark's, everyone, for taking great care of my mom and you have been so gracious to me! I will miss all of you, the staff, the residents...! Thank you again!

I have been a patient in the Rehab unit 3 times in the last year. Its not great to not be able to go to home after a hospital stay, BUT they make you feel at home with the great food and good clean accommodations. The nursing staff was very attentive to my needs and always very pleasant to me. All the other patients that I talked to (in the unit) were also were very happy with them. The therapists are also top notch- specially Julie- very caring about what she does- very patient and sweet to me.

My Mother was a patient in the Betty Fresh Rehab and Spa at St. Mark Village, after a hospitalization. She received wonderful care during her stay. The Therapy Department was both patient and effective at the same time. My Mom was able to improve her overall physical status while there even though she had a lengthy hospital stay prior to being at St. Mark Village. It gave me peace of mind to know that she was staying at such a safe and caring facility. She enjoyed not only the Therapy staff but also the Nursing staff and still tries to keep in touch with them. I highly recommend St. Mark Village.

Tough go getting answers from nursing in the ALF including management. Cute, I get a response about a half an hour ago to call 2100 and this is HR and they have no idea with whom I am supposed to be speaking with. So I said to connect me to the Administrator and she isn't in her office as was hours ago. No response from the email to her either...this is not time sensitive but yesterday was to schedule Home Health. Shall I publish all the items of my concern, at least someone (unknown) got back to me publically even if no one knows who when I return the call request. Well run, don't you think. Dismayed.

Incredible support and living environment for Parents. My parents moved in about seven years ago.... and have loved it. My father passed recently and I must say the pouring out of help and support for both mother and family have been beyond belief. St. Mark Village is a great assisted living facility. My parents moved there about three years ago and have been very pleased with the independent living section - their apartment, the facilities and grounds, and the amenities. I can't speak to the assisted living Section and hospital wing, but they look good. In my opinion, a well considered place with compassionate management and staff.
