Shortly after showing signs of dementia, my wife fell and had to have a partial hip replacement. From there she had to go through physical therapy. It was during that time I realized that there was no way I could bring her home and take care of her. I was told that she needed to be in an Assisted Living/Memory Care Facility. As most of you know, there are many of these facilities located in and around The Villages. I was told about the A Banyan Residence that had just opened. I made an appointment with Mr. Brandon Anderson/Administrator, who was very helpful in getting me through a very stressful situation. I toured the facility and was very impressed with everything that was offered. My wife was admitted in September 2021, and still a resident there. I have always been impressed with the A Banyan staff, the caregivers and the kitchen staff. There are aways activities for the residents, including shopping and dining excursions. There is a beautiful theatre, library, virtual room, salon services and a must-see Coy Pond. They have live entertainment, normally music from their rock and roll days. This has a very positive effect on the residents, because most are able to remember these songs from the past. They say music is great therapy for individuals suffering with Dementia and Alzheimer's. At A Banyan they've created an uplifting atmosphere where residents, families and staff all interact with each other like an extended family. Residents receive three meals per day, plus snacks, weekly housekeeping, weekly linens, towels and personal items laundered, medication management, and more. A Banyan provides a common living area for relaxing with other residents or playing games and beautifully land scaped yards. I am very pleased with the care my wife receives at A Banyan. I would recommend A Banyan to anyone looking for a wonderful environment for their loved one!

My Uncle entered A Banyan Residence Assisted Living Resort in February and was in pretty tough shape after a number of falls. They worked closely with him through O/T and P/T, had him taking his medications on a regular schedule again and got him back into the habit of eating healthy foods. As a result, we were able to move him back into his home (with some in-home care) and he is doing great! Without the excellent care he received here, there is no way he would have been able to return home. Thank you for taking great care of him, especially Sara Buse, who went above and beyond on a number of occasions to help him and his family. I give A Banyan Residence Assisted Living Resort my highest recommendation.

I wanted to take this opportunity to mention how wonderful A Banyan Residence is where my mother lives! She has been living there for about 3 years and couldn't be happier. She thinks of it as home and is thriving. They have lots of activities, a movie theater and ice cream parlor. She loves going on the different field trips whether it be bowling, out to eat, music outings, shopping and lots more. They celebrate all the holidays and make it fun and festive. I am the Administrator of a memory care community in Palm Beach County. I was told about A Banyan Residence by someone who was looking for a community for a family member. She thought our communities shared some common features. I was in the Orlando area for a conference and contacted A Banyan Residence to hopefully come for a tour. It is a beautiful community. The design is very smart and perfect for people experiencing varying degrees of cognitive decline. I love the outdoor spaces! The facility staff were pleasant and professional. Residents were happy.

I am the hairdresser at Banyan. I've been a hairdresser for 30 years. I moved from Illinois about 6 years ago and I started working at Banyan shortly after they opened. I absolutely LOVE my job! I like to interact with the residents outside the salon, too. I enjoy getting to know them and their families, if at all possible Making the decision to move your loved one to any kind of care facility is a difficult one. Lots of hard decisions and emotions can go with that big step. I would not work at a company that didn't have the best interest of their residents and provide amazing care. My own family has been down this road and I know it's not an easy one.

My husband has had a long journey to find a great memory care facility. He has been to five other places. They were all incompetent until I found Banyan. The caregivers and staff have been so caring and loving. I have never heard any staff member yell at any patients ever. They keep all the patients busy with many activities and are always hydrating these patients. You can always find a caregiver to help if you need one. They always have a smile on there face and they are wonderful at redirecting these patients when they need it. When Mike got there he was so over medicated that he couldn't even walk. He is now walking and participating in all activities. Banyan also talk to family about any medication changes and also send many pictures of your loved one during activities. Michelle our activities director is a God sent. She is wonderful at what she does and she goes above and beyond caring for these patients, as does everyone from the maintenance men, food service and nursing staff and care givers do also. If anyone is looking for a facility for their loved one you need not look any further then Banyan.

This facility is absolutely amazing. I can't begin to put into words how truly thankful I am to the wonderful staff at Banyan (Oxford) for taking such great care of my Dad, William. Every single employee in every department of this facility goes above and beyond to make sure that the residents are well taken care of. The entire staff is kind, caring, gentle, attentive and extremely patient. No matter how many questions I ask or how many times my family and I call they are always polite and helpful. If my dad so much as gets a scratch, I get a phone call. Thank you for caring enough to always keep his family in the loop. I cannot say enough about Banyan but I'll try...No matter when I show up my Dads room and the entire facility is PRISTINE. As in picture perfect clean. His laundry is done and hung up, his bed is made daily. The landscaping and the grounds are always beautiful and well manicured like a tropical oasis. The food is always delicious and fresh. Major kudos to the chefs who made that Father's Day lunch! The steak and lobster were delicious! Huge thank you, thank you, thank you to Julie, the nurses, the medical staff and the amazing caretakers for keeping my Dad (and the other residents) healthy and CLEAN and dry and well manicured all day every day. I KNOW that is not an easy task but you are killing it! Brandon...thank you so much. Thank you for accepting my Dad into your beautiful facility and for all of your help with putting together a comprehensive care plan and a great team of medical professionals to care for him. Sara (Marketing) and to the new activities lead that I met on Sunday, thank you for always being so creative and fun and for providing the residents with around the year activities and beautiful family events. You ladies rock! And to the entire staff...thank you for always keeping sweets on hand just for my Dad. You don't have to do that but it means so much to his family knowing that you do. It's the little things. But it's those little things that set this facility apart from the rest. You pay attention to all the details. And thats the reason why I feel so safe and at peace with my Dad living there. GREAT job you guys!

As an entertainer, i have the opportunity to visit many Senior Living Residences. I am always impressed by the ones in our Central Florida area. Every once in a while a place truly stands out. Banyan is such a place. Everyone on the staff was super involved and caring. There were several residents with special needs and you could just see the love each staff member had for the residents (even dancing with them or simply holding their hands). It was truly an honor to perform. The best compliment I cN give is that I would bring my parents there if the need arised.

Beautiful facility, green grass, shrubbery, trees, flowers, even a Koi pond! No dark halls with rows of doors as the first thing you see when you step out of your apartment. The meals are very good, and the staff is friendly and attentive, They seem to have endless patience, especially with the sometimes difficult memory care residents. Every time I visited, I saw residents treated with dignity and respect. I would recommend the facility to anyone who truly cares about their loved one.

My Dad went to this facility about a year ago. He went to memory care and was against it and exhibited verbally abusive behavior. The director, Brandon, really worked with him to make him feel as comfortable as possible. Missy, one of the staff members befriended him at a time he needed it most as he shut out the rest of his family. We are so thankful for that as my Dad passed away on 6 Feb 23. The staff took really good care of him especially in his final days and Cornerstone Hospice was the absolute best taking care of him. Adjusting to a new facility can be tough - unfortunately this is our father's third facility within the year. I felt the most comforted as Brandon and Julie were thoughtful with how he would handle the transition and were thoughtful with how to get him engaged but also keeping him safe. My husband and I go to the family BBQs on Sunday and each time walk away thinking that it is time that we moved in as well. We couldn't be more thankful for finding Banyan

There is nothing more stressful than seeing your beloved father deteriorating from insidious Alzheimer's disease. It breaks my heart on so many levels. Dad living in a place that has his best interests in mind was our #1 goal. Banyan fills their days with many varied activities - art, music, movies, and room exercises. My father is engaged in each activity to the best of his ability, but more importantly he is in the community room to be surrounded by others for his level of socializing and people watching. He loves people watching. At every level i observed Banyan staff taking pride in their work, as well as the building and grounds always looking beautiful and inviting. The chefs carefully plan their daily and weekly menus with healthy and tasty meals plus rewarding homemade desserts the residents love. Trust me, you want to try some of there in house ice cream too when visiting. Banyan makes us family members who cannot be there all the time due to living out of state comfortable with the level of care and reports on how dad is doing. They never hesitate to call me to ask or inform about anything, which gives me comfort and confidence on how this residence is run from top to bottom. I love spending most of the day there when I do visit since the grounds are beautiful with koi fish ponds (dad loves feeding them) and some semi-resident pets there several days a week making residents happy and smiling. The staff also allowed us to bring in our sweet and well-behaved cat for dad to love on during our last trip. The other residents were so happy to have a cat visitor that day as well, raising their hands to be next in line as she made her rounds from one hugger to the next. We are blessed that my loving, wonderful father is at Banyan. He deserves the best. Thank you to everyone there who is caring for Eddie.

My mom was a resident at A Banyan for about 2 months before moving back to Wisconsin. She enjoyed her time here. The staff was very kind and caring. They went out of their way to make her feel comfortable when she arrived and included her in the many activities. Krystal~the activity director is fantastic~she goes over and above to create activities that engage and build community among the residents. My mom loved sitting in the beautiful courtyards and visiting with other residents. The facility grounds are beautiful for enjoying the Florida sunshine~the fish pond is an extra bonus. It is a family run business and the whole staff feels like an extended family to the residents. From Brandon~the owner, the support staff, the cleaning staff, to the grounds crew~everyone makes a point to greet and visit with the residents and their families. Our family has fond memories of our daily visits and the people we met. A Banyan's staff and residents have a special place in our hearts!

My Mother has been living at Banyon since July 2021. I have been very happy with the friendly staff and management. Brandon is always willing to listen and do what he can to resolve any problem. Mom always says she likes it there and everyone is nice to her. They have many activities, crafts and movies to keep everyone busy. Mom loves being around people, so she is never isolated. One of the best features is how much outside access she has. Outdoors is her favorite place to be. It's not easy picking out an assisted living/ memory care for your 93 year old Mother but A Banyon Residence has made me feel assured that Mom is safe and well cared for.

Wow! I really love this facility and the environment, it's so beautiful and refreshing to see. Aside from the gorgeous views, what I love most about A Banyan Residence is the nursing staff. Wellness Director (DON) Cheryl Goings and nurse Faneeka are AMAZING nurses! I've had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with Cheryl during my visit and was very impressed with her clinical knowledge in nursing. At times while conversing we were approached by several residents and Cheryl with great patience would assist them, it's evident that she pays close attention to and checks on her residents while providing extraordinary care. Cheryl and Faneeka seems to be very active and involved nurses that puts the needs of their residents first. A Banyan is truly blessed to have Cheryl and Faneeka, they are an asset to the company and the residents love them. I would gladly refer anyone that's looking to place their loved one in an environment that will take care of them by extraordinary nurses as long as Cheryl and Faneeka are at A Banyan Residence. I would also add that I believe Cheryl and Faneeka should be recognized and rewarded for their efforts, amazing customer service and nursing skills, especially Cheryl. Thank you two for all that you do and all the staff!

I performed entertainment at your facility the other day I just wanted to let you know what great people you have working for you. I have played at many facilities but have not witnessed such kindness from the staff to the residents. Many times when I play the residents are just dropped off and left by themselves to listen to the performance. Yesterday Krystal, Roxanne and all of the aids were completely involved with the residents during the performance. They were motivating them to clap along and also getting many of them up and dancing with them. It was so beautiful to see all of the aids so involved with the residents with such kindness. All of the staff I encountered were beyond helpful and friendly. When I needed some help with my setup Lawrence the groundskeeper was beyond friendly and helpful. So many times you only hear about the negative things that happen with the staff. I just wanted to let you know what a great group of people you have.

I've worked for this facility's sister property for years and came up to help train new staff members and WOW... I couldn't believe how beautiful it was! From a care perspective, I was so impressed with the team that was brought on board but also how the facility was custom-built for safety. Examples being motion sensors in the rooms to prevent falls at night, emergency call systems, staff night round check-ins, etc. The owners have always taken care to make sure the landscaping and grounds are gorgeous and the facility is secure, but the measures they put in place to keep the residents safe were SO so impressive. Can't wait to come back!

Since my dad passed 3-years ago, my husband and I have had the blessing of caring for my mom FT who is an 80 year old, wheelchair bound, amputee, with cognitive dementia. She is a very sweet lady who obviously has special needs and requires lots of love and attentive care. Over the years we have needed facility support from time to time for various life reasons, and I can honestly share that our experiences have NOT been favorable, leaving my mom extremely afraid to stay ANYWHERE other than home with us! Moving forward to current circumstance, our daughter is preparing for her wedding this fall, and requested we take a week and visit to help with planning. She lives 9.5 hours away and we knew the trip would be far too difficult for mom. My hubby & I faced a HUGE challenge in finding FT 24-hour care for mom. We also knew mom would be extremely upset to go anywhere during our pursuit for a 9-day respite. After a week of exhausting calls, facility tours and following up on countless leads, THANK GOODNESS we found A BANYAN RESIDENCE. A BRAND NEW ASSISTED LIVING & MEMORY CARE HOME in The Villages area (I think they may be offering adult day care & respite care too). Our experience with Banyan was truly AMAZING on EVERY LEVEL, an answer to our prayers! Yes, the facility is BEAUTIFUL, offering every well-appointed feature one would look for. Cheerful accommodations with bright welcoming decor, nice well-lit closets, large easy to use flat screen TV's, roomy & well appointed functional bathrooms, a personal sink, fridge and microwave for personal snacks and cravings; even though ALL MEALS are PROVIDED AND PREPARED BY their own on- site culinary chef who made it a point to meet each resident and learn about their likes and dis-likes. They even offered specialized items to accommodate personal preferences when requested. The grounds are beautiful too. Fountains, Coy ponds, outdoor entertainment and BBQ area. A state-of-the-art movie room, virtual room, gaming and arts and crafts center, beauty parlor and ice cream parlor, even a Library! The vibe was "our home is your home... we are family" and they indeed exceeded our expectations on every level. Above all, the thing that mattered most to us was the STAFF. This is a privately owned facility that accommodates all types of physical and/or financial situations. They ARE the real-deal, sincere and genuine. They took the time to listen to our needs AND our concerns. They were proactive, accommodating and exceptional customer communicators providing updates and feedback throughout our mom's stay. Michelle was my mom's daytime caregiver. She was so kind, patient, and thoughtful. She was a wonderful companion. She actually cried when we came to pick up mom and my mom still talks about her every day! Brittany oversaw moms care plan and made sure all of mom's needs were being carried out flawlessly. She was so easy to talk to, we felt like she had known mom for years. Marie watched over mom during nighttime and made sure mom didn't feel lonely. She kept mom busy and safe through the wee hours of the morning. Cynthia was the activity administrator and she was so creative and entertaining. The days just flew by, and when I called mom and told her we would be coming to get her in 2 days... (she had been there for 7 days) mom said "already, are you sure)?!! What a wonderful response to hear from the lady who was terrified to go initially. I can't praise A Banyan Residence enough, right up to, and including Banyan's leadership. Brandon, the Administrator, was totally hands on ensuring my mom's experience was beyond expectations. He was always there and accessible. We even felt comfortable discussing future opportunities for possible residency because mom enjoyed her stay so much. Jennifer and Tanya were instrumental in our initial decision to give Banyan a try. So personable, knowledgeable, caring, realistic and hands-on. If you are in need for yourself or a loved one, please do yourself the favor and check Banyan out. They get it....love & family
