My mom asked my help in finding a place to live after keeping up a house became too difficult. She moved into Discovery Village Melbourne four months ago and loves it. The rooms are beautiful, the staff is friendly and the residents are truly community. It is a joy visiting her and knowing she is happy and safe.

My Mother has been a resident for 8 months in the Independent Living area and loves it. The activities are plentiful, the food is good, the staff are attentive and the atmosphere is elegant and upscale. Mother has Age Related Macular Degeneration and is quite blind but still enjoys the company of others and on-site exercise and water aerobics and small group activities. We highly recommend Discovery Village that enjoy meals prepared for them and an active environment. Her great grand daughters enjoy visiting too - "it's like a hotel" they say. Mom has now been in residence for 5 years.Beautiful surroundings and comfortable apartments. Friends to be made through numerous activities and dining together. Safety is a high priority for the community therefore not a concern I worry about.

Beautiful senior community, definitely one of the top in Brevard. All the staff were very friendly and the activity that the seniors were doing looked like a lot of fun. I love the pool, gym and movie theater. Discovery Village is a place Id choose for my own retirement!

My FIL just moved into the Independent Living section of this facility. All the staff was very nice and helpful. They offer a variety of activities and services for the residents. The food was good too. Lots of amenities.

This is a beautiful facility. The mail major problem is response time in an emergency situation. The button system is great, but there needs to be a way to distinguish someone needing help with a small problem and someone who is sick or has fallen. There have been many times people have pushed the button for help and it can take 45 minutes to an hour for someone to arrive. Unacceptable

Excellent community. My mother lives in an independent apartment and calls it home. Its clean, safe, and lovely. The sense of community that exists there is amazing. My mom has a happy, busy life without leaving the building!

My mother-in-law resides here. Over several years I have seen first hand the accommodations, staff attentiveness, food service, entertainment, etc. Weve look at any number of options and after a thorough review of alternatives, we are pleased that Discovery Village is available. My 97 year old mother-in-law is comfortable and well looked after.

Very impressive place, friendly employees, tenants enjoyed their foods, ice cream area where they can be served, cafe with cookies, muffins in the morning with all different types of coffees and teas. Televisions to be watched in their cafe, Clubhouse, and other comfortable areas throughout the building and on every floor. I found a small TV monitor even by the elevators so no one would miss any parts of the soap operas or theirs favorite show. Housekeeping kept the place clean, beautiful dining room where are three meals a day was served with friendly professioners servers. They have 3 different types of care. Theres independent living, assisted living and memory loss care. From what Ive experienced I would definitely bring a family member or close friend to be put in their care.

A friend of ours lives at this place. Its a really nice place. They have plenty of activities to keep people occupied. You can go from independent living to assisted living even into Memory Care all at the same place. I dont know how much it cost to live there but Im sure you could find out probably from their website. Its located right across the street from the river.

Nice looking place with lots of amenities. Good staff, but like management, dont stick around too long. All meals are served daily in and refining room and seem to be a 6 on a ten scale in value and taste. Nice pool and pub. Staff is caring and considerate.

It is a beautiful clean facility with caring, friendly staff. My only complaint is they just added a $250.00 fine for anyone who is 11 days late with their rent. I think that is ridiculous! Very stingy and greedy on their part!

Discovery Village At Melbourne is a beautiful community! The staff is caring and friendly. There have been some great changes with the new management company. They really seem to care. The food is great and the activities are really fun, too! I can only recommend the community!

My Dad (92) lived at the Sonata, now Discovery Village of Melbourne until just last week after being a resident in the Assisted Living area for 16 months. Overall the place was fine for my dad. He consistently complained about the food to me and that never seemed to improve even though a new chef was hired. I had been promised by the Director, Scott Anderson several times that they were looking into a menu to aid diabetics with food choices, but that never materialized and I just gave up asking. The building and grounds are beautiful and have a true WOW factor and I believe most of the staff do care about the residents and really do try to help the residents. As requested, by the rules and regulations, I gave them a written notice of 30 days that my dad would be moving out and back to Connecticut to live with me because of serious health issues. I wrote an incredibly nice note to the Director, Scott Anderson thanking him and his team for taking care of my dad the last 16 months. I never heard a word back from Scott regarding that email. I was incredibly disappointed that I did not even hear a reply back such as I Have received your note and thank you. A true professional and a caring professional in a managerial position such as his, I would think would have reached out and said I am sorry about your fathers health, is there anything we can do to help until your dad leaves?I was in and out of the building for 5 straight days moving my dad with my husband and Scott never stopped by to see me nor did anyone from his team. I stopped by to see Keri, Director of Nursing to pick up my fathers medicines and she wished us well at that time, but nobody from Scott down ever stopped by to see me and say anything. I was very disappointed with this especially after 16 months and many payment checks written to the Discovery, (Sonata) that this is how the Discovery Management decided to say good bye to my dad and I. I guess it is all about profit, not really the caring. I am hoping I receive some sort of detailed survey from the Discovery company to provide my detailed thoughts and suggestions.

The food is excellent. I came in for a free lunch and tour and was quite impressed at this community. Everyone was friendly, nice and helpful. My parents are not quite ready to make the move just yet but when we do Discovery Village at Melbourne is on top of the list.
