Our dad has been a resident for three years and we couldn't be happier. Wonderful, caring staff and a fantastic, well-maintained facility. Unbelievable and amazing care during the pandemic - it was everywhere except Windsor - and we were able to "see" dad every week.

I am one of the employees of WLR. With no bias or prejudice, the building has been a family to me. Work is exhausting but my co-employees and residents are the sources of my energy and happiness. Our relationship is transcendental. We help each other and we lift person up when someone is in despair.I experienced that firsthand with my bosses. When I got laid-off from work due to pandemic, they never failed to reach out on me and ask me for any assistance that they can offer. I was frustrated that I got furloughed because I cant understand why me who worked so hard for the community and for the residents can simply be laid off in just one memo. But my bosses and my co-workers were one with me in my frustrations and sadness. They found ways to move me to the Nursing dept and gave me the skills I need to be successful.I am giving this review because I owe my windsor family a ton of gratitude for giving me not just a place to work. but moreso circle of friends… and people I can call family.I said that I will not be biased but iI lied because other building may say that they are the best…but for me my Windsor of LWR family will always be number 1.Thanks LWR. As I am always saying,…Gratitude is the memory of the heart and I will always be forever grateful of my community.

My father has been at Windsor Of Lakewood Ranch for over a year. I cant say enough about The Windsor. The staff has treated my father with kindness and compassion. They are very caring to the needs of my dad as well as the other residence. I would like to thank every staff member at the The Windsor of Lakewood Ranch for making my dad feel at home. They make you feel part of the family.

My parents moved to the Windsor in January 2021. We are extremely happy with the care they are receiving. The staff is professional, attentive and caring; the meals are great and the environment is beautiful and uplifting. It is wonderful to know that mom and dad are receiving the care they need.

My father in law (like a dad to me) was only a resident at Windsor for a year but I cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff and the care he received there. He needed more help than many of the other residents with his activities of daily living (showering, bathroom, transferring from bed to chair, etc) and the staff always had him looking fresh and clean - no matter when we popped in. His room was also kept very clean, and Dad was very happy - all of which was very important to us.I could go on and on about their wonderful facility and staff - but here’s the thing that should make anyone looking for a solid review and take to heart…… I myself am a RN, it’s tough to feel 100% confident in any medical or living care your loved ones receive, so when I say I trust in these people, I am saying it with confidence and you as well should feel good about your decision to move your family member to Windsor of Lakewood Ranch.

I feel so very fortunate to have my mom reside at The Windsor of Lakewood Ranch. My family and I moved mom into her apartment at The Windsor in July 2020 (respecting their established Covid protocols) and it was the best thing we could have done for all concerned. Mom is happy there; she receives excellent care, and feels safe and secure. All staff members go above and beyond to best accommodate the needs of residents while considering residents families in the mix as well. Finally, I can sleep at night knowing she is in good hands. Last spring my mother decided it was time to move into an ALF. She chose Windsor of Lakewood Ranch and could not be happier! She has literally thrived since moving there! I have worked in home health administration in manatee-Sarasota counties for 10 years and Windsor LWR provides above and beyond what you can expect! Their staff are all very well trained and treat my mother literally as if she were their own!

I had the pleasure to spend 12 days visiting my mom in law for several hours each day. I was so impressed with the hard work and dedication of all the staff I had contact with. The staff made me feel welcome. I had lunch daily, the food was delicious, had a nice restaurant presentation, and was varied and healthy. The servers were courteous and prompt at taking orders, delivering the food, and clearing away dishes when you were finished. I felt like I was in a nice restaurant. The daily activities engaged the residents, was fun and entertaining. Victor and Jane do an excellent job and seem to have endless energy. The medications were given timely and with love and respect. The facility is very clean. If I need to live in a facility like this some day, I would not hesitate to choose The Windsor. The staff makes this place a number one place to live! Kudos to each one of you. I saw your dedication in making sure the residents are safe and well cared for.

My Mother has been at The Windsor of LWR for about 3 years. I guess because things run so smoothly there, sometimes we forget to give a shout out for those who go the extra mile. I thought Id posted a review but seems I did it wrong! Anyway, we had to move my Mother to a smaller apartment and Beth was wonderful in helping make that even possible! But shes a hands on leader and you know the job will get done and your family member member will be treated like family. This move came just after the Corona virus got cranked up- so I was unable to help pack anything or figure out what furniture, etc would fit. Joe, not only the head of maintenance and the zillion other Hats he wears... actually texted photographs of the new apt, sent measurements and helped me figure out what would fit in the new space. He and his assistant, Henry, not only packed EVERYTHING up but then they placed every item back where she had it - and I mean even her nightgowns were refolded and put away neatly! They reconnected her phone and TV, re-started her air purifier - EVERYTHING! And THEN Joe helped load excess tables, etc into my car. As if that wasnt enough-Joe also went out of his way to find a place for furniture, etc we could no longer use. Who does that???!!! Joe always has his plate full, but anytime Ive ever needed anything- his response is typically consider it done. I dont worry about that task anymore because I know he will take care of it! Weve been fortunate to have found a home away from home for my Mother. We all want the best for our parents -the staff at The Windsor has made that possible! Jennifer J Rodgers

My mom has been at Windsor of Lakewood Ranch for a year now so I am well qualified to write a reviews of good times before the pandemic struck and after. I loved it before thanks to the great staff, the care she received, and the facilities. There is a big reason why it has received best place to work several years in a row. The staff shows that by how the residents are treated. It is a mutual love. Now how it has been since the pandemic. The best word to describe how I feel is SAFE. Although I have not been physically in the same room as Mom for 6 months, I can rest easy knowing Windsor at LWR is doing everything possible to keep her safe and happy. Their protocols are excellent. The staff has worked above and beyond what would be expected during this time. Five days a week we normally get emails from the director letting us know what is going on. If you are thinking about Windsor of LWR, you wont be sorry you chose. I looked at several places before I chose it.

Since we admitted my mother my wife and I have been thoroughly impressed with your entire staff. Everyone has gone out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Though my mother needs a little more time to be accustomed to her new environment, there are good signs of success. Moving her has been painful for all involved but your professionalism as well as compassion has paved the way for a great home for my Mother. Please allow me to give special recognition to some of the stellar folds that have gone out of their way to help our cause. Chelsea is so confident in her duties that there is no doubt that she will be able to solve virtually any problem. Jane has made it her personal challenge to encourage Mom to be more engaged. She sent me pictures showing Moms involvement in a root beer float social. This is so meaningful to her progress. Joes maintenance has blown me away with his and staffs responsiveness. His staff was available in 5 minutes to hang up a picture and hook up the TV. All are well beyond my wildest expectations. It has been a real pleasure in our short time at the Windsor. You have restored my belief in inspired compassionate service. Thank you all for a superior job well done! Sincerely, David Phipps

Absolutely Amazing is how I would describe The Windsor of Lakewood Ranch. My 93 year old mother has lived here for 7 years and she loves it. She has developed wonderful friendships with many of the residents as well as the staff. Since the COVID 19 restrictions went into place it has been a real challenge for residents and families not being able to spend time together. Beth, the director at The Windsor, has communicated daily via email with the families. This has been extremely helpful. She gives updates on any COVID changes, but she also tells us what activities the residents are participating in, what the main meal was that day and what treats were on the treat cart. They post photos daily to their Facebook page so families can sometimes catch a glimpse of their loved ones. They also offer skyping appointments and window visits so residents can see their loved ones. I really look forward to these daily emails and once I read them I call my mom and we talk about the activities and what treat she got from the treat cart. They love that treat cart! The food-nutrition group works hard to make good healthy meals and they prepare those treats daily which is something the residents really look forward to in the middle of the afternoon. The Life Enrichment Team made up of Sonja, Victor and Jane continue to engage the residents with activities as well as having one on one conversations with the residents to just catch up and see if they want or need to talk about anything. Im always amazed with their creativity and energy level. Joe and Henry from Maintenance always go above and beyond. They always have a smile on their faces. The housekeeping group always gets the job done. I so appreciate the little extras they do because they know it makes the residents happy and they also do it with a smile. The aides, CNAs, and physical therapists are tops and I love how the entire staff works and helps each other. Chelsea at the front desk is so pleasant to deal with. I call her all the time with various questions or concerns and she always answers my questions or puts me in touch with someone who can help. My mom recently had to be in the hospital and then a rehab facility for a couple of weeks. She was very anxious to get out of the rehab facility. The nursing staff at The Windsor is awesome. Debbie, Fran, and Ashley fielded numerous calls from myself and my brothers. Bless their hearts! They were very patient with us and helped calm our concerns. Fran even called me a couple of times to make sure I was alright. Debbie communicated with the rehab facility regularly so that as soon as Mom was strong enough to be discharged they swiftly coordinated her return to The Windsor. When Mom got back to The Windsor she said to me over the phone, Im Home! The Windsor of Lakewood Ranch is her home and our family knows that she is well taken care of and loved by the devoted people who work here. My Mom thinks of the staff here as her family. We feel so blessed to have our Mother living at this amazing place. Thank you!

We recently, moved my mom into her one bedroom assisted living apartment at The Windsor of Lakewood Ranch and we are HAPPY we chose The Windsor!! Not only are we happy, my mom is very pleased and in her words she, LOVE, LOVE, LOVES IT!. She has also said, I feel like this place was made for me! My mom was recently diagnosed with Alzheimers so her memory is far from what it used to be. The staff of The Windsor are AMAZING. Judy and Beth were awesome as they showed us around for our initial tour and first-look...as well as assisting in getting all the paperwork completed and keys issued and ready for moms move-in date. Joe (maintenance director) did an EXCELLENT job in helping to get moms curtains hung in the bedroom, pictures on the wall carefully and strategically hung better than we could have done it! Seriously, he took the time to organize the pictures and hang them so that they are aesthetically pleasing and a compliment to her furniture placement and we couldnt have asked for a better job! They werent just thrown up on the wall haphazardly. Joe obviously does his job and serves the residence with great price! Jane and Chelsea at the front desk have been so pleasing to deal with...and they ALWAYS greet us with a smile!! The housekeeping staff we have encountered are so helpful and their appearance is so professional. Yesterday when we arrived to see mom (on her 2nd full day there), she was upstairs sitting with a group of ladies who were playing dominos. Another great thing about The Windsor is that they are pet-friendly and my mom was able to take her precious Shih-Tzu with her! The nurse (and Im so sorry I dont recall her name) was fantastic in making sure she understood moms vitamin, supplement, and Rx regimen AND she said she loves dogs and loves to help walk them if the resident isnt up to it for whatever reason. Its already a VERY TOUGH DECISION to try to decide on an assisted living or memory care facility, but after my FIRST look-tour of The Windsor, I knew quite literally IMMEDIATELY that this was the place for my precious mom. We loved having mom live with us, but there was no daily stimulation, activities, outings, peers, etc., for her to be involved with. The Windsor offers ALL OF THESE THINGS and MORE! The facility itself...although 14-15 years old...looks like it was built last year (inside and out)! The entire facility from front door to back door is so well maintained...we couldnt believe it (and trust me, both my mom and I am extremely picky about cleanliness and organization), and The Windsor meets our high expectations with flying colors! They have an incredibly packed schedule of opportunities on the calendar for the residents. Wine spritzers at 4 pm every day...a movie of the day everyday in the mansion-like theater room (featuring about 20 comfy lounge chairs...not cheap folding chairs as some facilities offer), shopping trips, games, occupational therapy, and THE FOOD!!! The dining room(s) look like youre stepping into a trendy, upscale restaurant! The menus and meals are the work of award winning Chefs and their staff. Inside and out, I dont see how you can go wrong! Go ahead and compare The Windsor to other assisted living facilities and Id almost bet money that The Windsor will come out on top every time. And NO...I DO NOT work for The Windsor in any capacity. We are just one happy family who found one awesome place for my precious mom.

We have two very close friends that have moved to The Windsor after frighteningly poor care at Inspired Living. WOW! What a relief it is for them to have such impeccable care! They are so happy and are so lovingly cared for. The staff communicates with us closely and we sleep week at night knowing our friends are safe and happy! Thank you to Debbie Luther and Beth Widell for ongoing communication and truly CARING about the people that live there. They have gracefully guided everyone thru the pandemic so professionally. Not ONE SINGLE resident has tested positive! Thank you!

My family and I moved mom into The Windsor just yesterday due to ongoing issues for the last year at Inspired Living in Lakewood Ranch. Immediately we could see the high level of professionalism and sincere attention given to moms needs at as well as ours by the all staff we met considering Covid restrictions in place today and we were pleased to work within their guidelines to ensure for us and all the residents. We are particularly grateful to Joe, the Maintenance Manager, and Henry, his helper, who truly extended themselves by finalizing every last detail in setting up moms new home after professional movers completed a partial move-in due to time limitations. Both of these gentlemen should be commended for their fine efforts and we as a family are comforted to know people of this caliber work at The Windsor!

The Windsor of Lakewood Ranch is so much more than I hoped for regarding my mother who moved in first of June in the midst of the pandemic. Im impressed with how diligent they have been with keeping everyone safe and healthy. Everyone is very professional, caring, and kind. They are always so friendly and quick to get back to me. The staff really cares about each and every resident and gets to know them personally. They have been creative in ways to keep the residents engaged with activities. My mother is so happy there. She is coming out of her shell, asking for help, being as independent as she can, and engaging with other people and activities like never before. She has a new leash on life and its all because of the awesome staff at the Windsor! Thank you sooooo much!

For anyone that has had to make the tough decision involving the care of an elderly family member, I know what an emotional experience it can be. I recently have been faced with this decision as my mother of 91 yrs of age had began to become very forgetful and requiring a lot of extra care in everyday activities. Fortunately for our family, I was given a referral for the Assisted Living facility at the Windsor at Lakewood Ranch. Our first visit touring left us with a good feeling and after our second visit meeting some of the staff and residents I could tell that this was possibly the perfect fit for my mother. Everyone that we met were very friendly and professional. The facility itself was beautiful, clean and had all types of activities for the residents to chose from daily. Another important fact was that the food was delicious and the residents were given healthy choices on the menu too. Overall I was very impressed. I knew this transition for my mother would be a big change as she has been in her home for 40+ yrs but after bringing her here after one week she has made the adjustment remarkably well. I attribute that to the great care that she is receiving there and how everyone there has made her feel safe and welcome. I cant say enough good things about Windsor and as hard as a decision it was to have my mom leave her home, I can honestly say I am at peace knowing that she is in the right place for her.

Thank you everyone, for not just making the Windsor a place for my Mom to live, but also her home. Ever since her first visit to one of your special Christmas Dinner Events four and a half years ago, she knew that she wanted to live at The Windsor. All of you not only took excellent care of my mother but you also did it with love. You treated her like family. Fran, one of your nurses, reached out to her Family Physician and established a strong working relationship for the medical care of my Mom. My mothers dining room friends still keep an empty chair at their table, in memory of my Mom. Debbie your head of Nursing visited my mother at two different care centers. She did this to evaluate her medical condition and to confirm her ability to return back to the Windsor. Upon my Moms most recent return to the Windsor from a Rehabilitation Center, your staff dressed, put a pair of earrings and a necklace, along with some makeup on my mom. She then went to the living room to have a glass of wine. The special moment was to see the big smile on her face! She was so happy to be at home! Your staff even moved her tv into the bedroom so that she could listen to something in bed, and your laundry staff kept changing her sheets to keep her bed fresh and clean. My family and I wish to Thank ALL of your staff for your wonderful, loving care of my Mom!

My mother just moved into The Windsor of Lakewood Ranch. During this pandemic, two employees have far exceeded all expectations and have gone above and beyond to help my mother settle in. I recently moved my father from an independent care facility to the Windsor of Lakewood Ranch. The Windsor was great during the transition! Everything is organized and their team was completely responsive to all of my family’s niche needs and specific concerns. From the nursing team, to the maintenance team, to the activities team, to the dining team, everyone was so knowledgeable, friendly, aware of my father’s move in and needs, and responsive. I highly recommend Windsor based upon the way they handled the move-in process.

I used to work here and also at Reflections (the memory care) and out of all of the assisted livings and nursing homes I have worked at, this place truly is the best! I loved coming to work here and being with the residents. All of the staff were great with the residents. The only reason I left was to be a stay at home mom and to go back to school. Once I get my nursing degree I will definitely be looking into a position with Legend Senior Living, who not only care about their residents, but also their employees.

Today I had the pleasure of visiting with my grandmother at this facility. We had a lovely lunch together and the most delicious banana and candied walnut cake I’ve ever tasted. The staff was social with us, especially Daniel who made a special effort to speak French with my grandmother. After lunch, we both walked to her apartment and she showed me around, we took a little break and then we went off to chorus practice. It was so nice to hear her singing and to sing along with her. All of the staff take very good care of her and I am truly grateful for today’s lovely experience.

I wanted to summarize my month respite stay at The Windsor of Lakewood Ranch. Since I was a teacher I am going to grade The Windsor of Lakewood Ranch. A+ The Staff treats me royally. Maybe because I told them I was Queen Elizabeth the III. A+ Service is great. Everyone is respectful, attentive, and certainly helpful. The ones that I worked with are hard working and efficient. A+ The Cooking, presentation, and clean-up are all done with care. The food tastes very good! The waitstaff is remarkable. A The entertainment & socialization schedule is rich with interesting, entertaining, and educational topics. Something for every direction and taste. A+ I love the sound proof rooms and that the staff checks each resident at night. They let you know its meal time and help with anything you ask. A+ The building is well kept and the housekeeping staff is just so good! A++ The nursing staff is very competent, caring and efficient. I can't print why but they saved my life twice. God Bless All Prune Trees! I had a lot of fun with all the staff. Bette Duncan respite resident room #110

The Windsor made a very tough decision, well, beautiful. My father LOVES the facility and everyone on the team that supports him. The first time I visited I had lunch and observed. The staff was/is joyous and shows true love/compassion for each resident. Whether caring for, serving in the dining room, answering the phone (I called a lot initially with questions), maintaining the room or just hugging a resident as they past by. When I initially called to learn about the facility, the first thing they wanted to know was what my Dad loved to do, how they could engage him, and it was very genuine. We ordered new furniture for his room and had it delivered, The bed was complex and time-consuming to assemble, as well as the other pieces. Joe and Ventura were more than eager/happy to assemble it for us, with smiles! It took them most of the day. They are amazing. I am at complete peace that my Dad is in loving hands and will be more engaged then he has been in many, many years. And, he can't stop talking about how good the food is.

I don’t usually write reviews, but I recently visited The Windsor of Lakewood Ranch, and I was extremely impressed. I really enjoyed myself, and left feeling so good. They really have such an amazing team and facility, and you can’t beat the location. Everything you could ever need and more is right there, but it doesn’t feel like it is in a busy area. It feels nice and secluded, yet open, warm, and welcoming. The grounds are pristine, with beautiful gardens and decor. The rooms are perfect, great size, very clean, set up beautifully, and get this; pet friendly! The activity director knows his stuff, makes everything look great and fun. The staff were very professional, lots of smiles, and pleasant. Last thing, don’t get me started on the food. The Italian chef is outstanding. Basically if you’re looking for the best, you have found it.

  • Schedule a tour and visit the physical location to make sure community description is accurate.
  • Confirm with community manager that living and services required for you or your loved one's unique needs and budget are met.
  • Check with state government websites for additional licensing and information.

If there is any information that is inaccurate or needs to be updated, please contact Assisted Living Center.

Assisted Living Center uses the term "assisted living" or "personal care" to inform users that a community provides assistance with some Activities of Daily Living (ADL's). It may not meet your state's legal definition required for that level of care.
