My Mom has been here almost a year and is very happy. The staff is caring, and they have a plethora of activities throughout the week. Food is wholesome and good, available upon request as well as planned dining. Rooms are cleaned, laundry done, and medical needs addressed. A very good, assisted living facility!

My mom recently moved into the Landing of lake worth and I am so pleased so far. Moving my mom into memory care was scary and was very sad for me and my siblings but the Landing staff has really helped us with this transition and communicated to us throughout the whole process. Seeing pictures of my mom singing and laughing with friends has really made this decision to move her worth it. Thank you to all the staff! Especially Belinda, Kaylin and Carli. You 3 have been so helpful since the first phone call! And have gone above and beyond for me and my family. I will never forget it! If anyone is ever looking to move their family member into a community you will not regret choosing the Landing!

I do not generally do reviews – I ignore the review requests after buying anything online and am generally not excited enough with other things to take the time to post comments. But the Landing of Lake Worth is different. It is a special place and it has earned my respect and these comments. My mom was the first resident at the Landing and so we have seen the staff (and resident population) grow over the last few years. Prior to COVID-19, my wife and I visited 5 or 6 times a week and now that the pandemic is mostly over, we are there 6 or 7 times a week. We eat in the dining room regularly, observe the residents playing games, share in their happy hours, and have spent well over 1000 hours visiting at the Landing. Here are some of the many things I love about the Landing (in no particular order): • The food is surprisingly good. When my mom first moved in, we took her out several times each week for meals, but we have come to realize that the meals at the Landing are very good. Now we eat with her there several times a week. • There is always something for the residents to do. The Activity Director constantly has them playing Wii bowling and golf, card games, dominos, bingo, and all kinds of exercise activities. She sets up weekly happy hours, ice cream festivals, and does arts and crafts with them. They have daily movies in the theater, bring in entertainers, have special events for every holiday (and I think the Activity Director even makes up a few extra holidays), have religious services, go out for lunch once a week, etc., etc., etc. o They even turned their receiving of COVID vaccines into a party, complete with a pinata! During COVID, we commonly received notices of videos, photos, and slide presentations of residents doing things like celebrating holidays, dancing, showing pictures of residents when they were young as compared to now, involvement with entertainers, and doing exercises. The Activity Director also had a traveling Happy Hour cart (complete with drinks, snacks, and activity books and games), set up Facetiming for residents, and she even got the families of residents to decorate their cars and parade around the building for holidays. We couldn’t visit during COVID, but I think families knew that their loved ones were being well taken care of and the Landing was doing what they could to keep them entertained. • Management is always accessible. The Director of the Landing’s door is always open, but if I have a question or a comment, it is easier to catch him walking the halls and chatting with residents or checking out an activity. He regularly walks through the dining room at mealtime and chats with every resident. That means that if someone has a gripe, he is going to hear it and he had better have a good response when he sees that resident the next day – how is that for self-imposed accountability!!! He cares about the residents and wants everything to be perfect - I love that and I believe that his philosophy trickles down to the staff! • The front desk staff are so very helpful. They seem to know everyone (residents and guests) and are always eager to accommodate. It sometimes appears that they know what you need even before you ask for it. • Medical care. During covid, when Florida lost over 10,000 residents at long-term residential care facilities (almost 1000 of them in Palm Beach County), the Landing kept everyone safe. They commonly had stricter safety measures than required by the state and they clearly knew what they were doing. • Transportation – I already mentioned that once a week, any interested residents are taken out for lunch. They pick a different restaurant each week and the residents love it. They also commonly go for a drive along the beach after lunch. My wife and I regularly go on these outings and eat with the residents. Additionally, interested residents are taken to Walmart and Publix each week so they can shop for whatever they need or just walk around. Moreover, they are transported to and from doctor’s appointments. • Upkeep – as of this writing, the Landing has been open for three years, but everything looks brand new. The grounds are well-trimmed. The building is beautiful, clean, and you don’t see light bulbs out, things broken, or any signs of dilapidation. It always looks like they could do a “Grand Opening” any day of any week. All of the things I just mentioned are great, but they all pale in comparison to the staff! This is the main reason why my family and I love the Landing. They truly treat the residents like family. I have never heard a staff member raise their voice towards a resident, and I don’t worry about what goes on behind closed doors, or fear things will “disappear” from my mom’s room. Those things simply don’t happen. I could list several dozen stories about the staff going above and beyond to take care of the residents, but I’ll mention just a few. • My mom had a bad reaction to a medicine and came to breakfast confused, upset, and with her hands shaking to the point that she could not hold her drink or fork. One of the dining staff stopped what she was doing, sat with my mom, held her hand to calm her, and then literally fed her. And when I later thanked her, the young lady acted as if it was no big deal. • Another resident hurt her back and while waiting on an appointment for x-rays, she was in pain and having difficulty walking. An aide found an unused walker and gave it to the elderly lady to steady her as she walked and simultaneously, ease the pain. The aide didn’t have to do that – it wasn’t her “job.” She went out of her way to help because she knew it was the right thing to do. • My mother has dementia and regularly forgets things. It is not uncommon for her to be sitting in a community area and she sometimes forgets to go to dinner. The front desk lady, after she clocks out for the evening but before she goes home, checks to make sure my mom has gone into the dining room for supper. She does that on her own time and when I said thank you to her one day, she also acted like it was no big deal. The reality is that for these ladies and the rest of the staff, acts like these aren’t a big deal – it is just what they do. But for me, I see the staff commonly going the extra mile and performing acts of kindness beyond what is required of them and those acts speak volumes about the Landing! Perhaps the biggest compliment I can pay to the Landing is to tell you that after my mom was there for a year and a half, we were so pleased with the Landing that we moved my mother-in-law in. She also has dementia and to get her to initially move in, we told her that she was there on a 1-week trial. A year and a half later, she still thinks she is there on a trial and has no interest in leaving. She is convinced she is visiting a 5-Star hotel. If you ask her how she likes it there, she will tell you that the food is great and this is the best hotel she has ever stayed at! I believe that the vast majority of the residents are genuinely happy at the Landing. I smile when I stop by to visit with my mom and see four or five people outside in a sitting area and several more in one of the lounge areas, chatting, reading the newspaper, and just enjoying one another’s company. In large part, I think the residents are happy because the staff is happy and I think the staff is happy because they see this more as a calling than a job. I regularly hear staff members say “I only did that because it is what I would want someone to do for my mom (or dad).” I believe that the residents feel this caring love and respond accordingly. I love the Landing, as does my entire family and my wife’s family! Tim Kozyra P.S. I mentioned that my mom has dementia. It has progressed and we will be moving her to the Landing’s Opal (memory) Care wing of the building tomorrow. I must admit that I was very hesitant about this for fear that mom would be leaving the friends she has had for the last 3 years and the confusion and sadness would be detrimental to her transition. But the Landing did something pretty amazing. They allowed my mom to go into the Opal (memory care) side each day for the last couple of weeks to get used to it and I have to admit that she has adapted very nicely so far. I have known the manager and the activity directors from Opal Care for several years from my daily involvement at the Landing and love them both. I also know several of the other staff members because they have periodically worked on the Assisted Living side and am happy that they will be taking care of my mom. I truly, truly believe that my mom will do great and flourish in Opal Care, but I will post a thorough review of it once she settles in. God bless.

My mom was the first resident at the Landing and so we have seen the staff (and resident population) grow over the last year-plus. I have the highest regard for the landing and its staff! The facility is beautiful and extremely well-maintained. When there is a problem, they are on top of it immediately. They decorate for every holiday and serve special meals for each of them. They make the facility fun for the residents. I love the amount and diversity of the activities offered. I am there 5 or 6 times a week to visit my mom and I always see people playing board games, enjoying happy hour in the bistro, singing along with an entertainer, attending an exercise class, or watching a movie in the theater. Once a week, anyone who is interested goes out on a luncheon. Every week it is a different restaurant and then the group goes on a ride along the ocean or to some location to walk around or shop. They also do weekly runs to the grocery store. Residents can be as involved and active as they want – there isnt pressure, but there is always a lot of opportunities. My mom has dementia and is regularly confused and sometimes overwhelmed and even depressed. The staff is fabulous with her. They are patient, caring, and very helpful. They also keep me informed. I love that! Interestingly, it seems that most of the other residents are also very conscientious. Whether they take their cue from the staff or it is because they are mostly females, they seem to watch out for and help one another. The Landing truly is afamily. I suppose the area that registers the most complaints in any institutional setting is the dining hall. It cannot be easy! Everyone has their own tastes, preferences, and dietary needs and most of the residents are old enough to be set in their ways. I have eaten breakfast, lunch, or dinner at the Landing well over a dozen times and what I can tell you is that the food is nutritious and I have never had a bad meal there. Also, there have been times when my mom hasnt gone down for a meal and the staff notices. Someone stops by her room to see if she is OK, to encourage her to eat something, and they seem happy to deliver a meal to her room if she doesnt feel like eating in the dining room believe that most of the residents are genuinely happy. I smile when I stop by to visit with my mom and see four or five people outside in a sitting area and another half dozen in one of the lounge areas, chatting, reading the newspaper, and just enjoying one anothers company. In large part, I think the residents are happy because the staff is happy and I think the staff is happy because the manager loves what he does. He is energetic, tells it like it is, and seems open to suggestions. I believe that his excitement and concern for the residents trickles down to the staff and the residents feel it and respond accordingly. love the Landing, as does my entire family! My grandmother has been here for about 3 months and I could not be happier. To begin with, the facilities are amazing. What really got me was the staff. Theyve been nothing but helpful and patient, especially when dealing with my grandmother. For context, my grandmother is diagnosed with dementia, and can honestly be a lot to handle. I cant emphasize enough how grateful I am for the staff and the efforts they put in each and everyday.
