This review reflects our direct experience while my mother and father were residents at Village Veranda at Lady Lake, and it is written with urgency in the hope that this situation is taken seriously and resolved appropriately. After my parents moved out, we discovered that multiple personal items were missing, including cash, checks, a wallet, a gold ladies Rolex watch, and a gold and diamond pendant — items that were unquestionably in their possession prior to entering the facility. Many of these pieces carried deep sentimental value, including jewelry gifted during a 63-year marriage. When our family reviewed bank statements dating back to October 2025, we identified numerous transactions that neither parent authorized. We immediately contacted the bank’s fraud department. After investigation, the bank informed us that the fraudulent activity was linked to an employee of the facility. The unauthorized charges included multiple T-Mobile transactions for bills and equipment, PayPal charges, a Capital One payment, and a rent payment to Omni + Brook Rental Management Co. Families place immense trust in assisted living facilities — not only to provide care, but to protect vulnerable residents and their property. Our parents, like many residents, were elderly and experiencing memory challenges. Discovering financial exploitation under these circumstances has been devastating to our family. Since this ordeal began, our father has passed away, compounding the emotional toll and making the loss of irreplaceable sentimental items even more painful. We entrusted this facility with our parents’ care believing proper employee screening and safeguards were in place. Had we known of any prior concerns that could impact resident safety, our decisions would have been very different. This situation raises serious questions about hiring practices, oversight, and accountability. We are seeking a clear response from Village Veranda regarding how they intend to make this right and what steps are being taken to prevent this from happening to other families. We will pursue every appropriate avenue to obtain justice and restitution, but ultimately facilities bear responsibility for the people they employ and the protection of the residents entrusted to them. We strongly urge prospective families to safeguard valuables, closely monitor finances, and ask detailed questions about employee screening and internal protections when evaluating care facilities.

I would highly recommend Village Veranda to anyone seeking assisted living or memory care for their loved ones. The staff is more than accommodating and supportive . Lisa has been so kind and supportive in transferring our sister from out of state to this facility. A very heartfelt thank you to all the staff. They are very understanding and caring.

I wanted to let you know that I am so grateful for your staff member, Anita. She has gone above and beyond kindness to include my mother, who is recovering from a stroke, in the many craft activities in her room. When Anita didn't understand what mom was trying to say, she called my sister ( who lives close by and visits often) to try and understand what mom was trying to tell her. When my sister figured it out, Anita went to the dining hall and told her that she understood. So gracious! You are blessed to have a staff member who cares about your clients so much. We dropped in unexpectedly and probably didn't wait over 10 minutes when a delightful young lady named Lisa met us, asked some questions and then gave us a tour of the entire facility. She answered our questions, introduced us to Lisa and went to work on getting my sister a home at this beautiful place. Very impressed!

I monitored how she interacted with the residents here at this facility. I'm very pleased and would recommend this facility to families that is in search for a loved one. I was looking for a new place for my Mom, and I stopped here without an appointment, Liz and Lisa were busy, but they gave me the 5 star treatment. Information, a look around the facility. Super knowledgeable too, answered all of my questions, and they couldn't be nicer! I am so glad I stopped by that day!

I've lived at this facility for about 2 years. SRI, the management company is terrible. I would never live in another SRI run facility. I left 6 months ago and most of the staff is new. Creative activity director in Ms. Pepin. Honest person in sales, Lisa Mosley. Not enough residents participate in activities because they choose not to. Food was better before they changed chefs. Care staff doesn't actually seem to enjoy working there

Went to visit with my grandmother, who needs an Assisted Living Facility. While there I found that they place looked more like a hotel then a comfortable facility for my grandmother. I even met the DON and learned that she was at another facility and she had many complaints against her. The ED wasn't very friendly and didn't seem to care to meet me and my grandmother.

An amazing facility! My parent have improved immensely since moving in. They have been there 2 months and are physically and mentally so much better then living on their own. Correct medication and healthy meals have made such a difference. I highly recommend this facility. It is a home away from home.

My uncle is s resident of this facility and was the very first when it opened! It is a very nice facility and maintained pretty well. A few people have given it a poor rating because of some management problems. Name me a business that doesn't have any problems, especially in this day and age. My uncle is very happy at Village Veranda and if it was as bad as a few have said, he would not be! They now have a new director and everyone seems to like him. Keep up the good work Samuel!

This is a beautiful facility. I have had nothing but great interactions with the new management team, and all staff from housekeeping to dietary to caregivers. The other residents are also open, warm, and friendly. Your loved one will feel at home here.

Its not a hotel. Its an assisted living facility and memory care for people who have Dementia. This is where I had to place my wife so she could get good treatment and be safe. Its a beautiful place but like all the rest of these facilities, nice isnt always better, they just cost twice as much for less care, But their food is better even if it takes an hour to get your food

Wonderfully luxurious and excellent place for our seniors to live in. Love this place, their care, sense of commitment. Everything is 5-star quality at Village Veranda starting with the managers, chefs, concierge etc! Everyone is friendly, respectful, loving and caring. All of the managers and staff are dedicated and truly involved in making sure that the residents are well taken care of, they offer a multitude of amenities and activities to their residents. They take the time to truly know their residents by name, likes, dislikes and everything relating to each individual resident. They even have many activities that are family involved and welcomed.Thanks for going above and beyond!
