My mom back in January had taken a fall broke her elbow and shoulder and needed to get some skilled rehab rehabilitation. I am so happy I chose the Waterford, the staff are so nice so helpful so attentive, caring and all the aids were so nice to my mom as well, whenever she pushed that button, whether it was to use the bathroom or get her medication, they were there within 10 to 15 minutes. The facility is beautiful and clean, The therapy department worked very well with getting my mom back up on her walker and strong again. She loves all the activities they have especially the zoo animals. My mom recently took another fall and had to have some surgery on her hip and we chose to go back to the Waterford for her skilled rehab once again. They welcomed her with open arms. They were so happy to see her again but of course, not under the circumstances.. My mom was so happy to see them she is so comfortable there. I would recommend this to anybody that needed to put a parent or any relative in a rehab facility. I feel good leaving her there when I go home, I know I don’t need to worry about her she’s in good hands. Thank you to the staff at Waterford, I will always have my mom go there when she needs more rehabilitation and I will refer you to all my friends and family.

I’m giving this place a 2 only because there are a few nice people working here - primarily the folks that bring the food and assist with getting people dressed. My mother was here for about 5 weeks for rehab and it was overall less than stellar. They lie about progress with therapy telling us she needs to be here longer where we clearly saw the difference. Easy bed to make money from I guess. Half of the clothes we brought for her went missing as did her glasses. Planning discharge was horrible and communication with our family didn’t happen unless we made calls or insisted on meetings. In my opinion, go somewhere else.

I am disheartened. I met with a sales person who said I'll do my best to get you into the studio that is coming up to availability. I trusted his word. I was there on a Thursday, looked at the studio that was going to be vacant, sales person said I'll call you on Friday to go over numbers, never called, I emailed him on Sat. and he said I'll call you on Monday, never called, Tuesday never called and Wednesday never called. I don't understand. I'm short $74.00 per month. Can't imagine denying someone $74.00 short. I asked this sales person to please let me know one way or another and I'll look elsewhere and he never had the courtesy to call. I was left hanging.

My Mom lives in The Waterford and she absolutely loves it! The people are great, the food is awesome (her words) -- especially the salmon, it's outstanding! It's a warm and inviting environment. And the property is beautiful and has everything easily accessible. And it's less than a mile away from the ocean -- boats and water galore!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Tara (Shiantaurah) and the incredible support she provided while helping me complete a Medicaid application for my mother. From the very beginning, Tara was patient, calm and truly accommodating. Navigating a Medicaid application while my mother is in rehab, and potentially transitioning to long-term care, felt overwhelming, but Tara immediately put me at ease. She took the time to walk me through every section of the application step-by-step, ensuring I fully understood what was needed and why. Her knowledge and expertise were evident throughout the entire process. She is clearly well educated in both the technical details of the forms and the broader Medicaid process. It was reassuring to work with someone who not only understands the paperwork, but also has relevant background and practical experience in how the system works. What’s stood out most was her genuine willingness to help. She was more than happy to assist, never rushed the conversation, and made herself available when clarification was needed. Her professionalism combined with her compassion made a stressful situation much more manageable for our family. Tara is an exceptional billing specialist and an invaluable resource to both patients and their families. I am deeply grateful for her guidance and highly recommend her.

This is my first time dealing with a family member suffering from a severe stroke and my father was well dressed bathed and even there own concern (nurses ) for him was a delight to see ppl who actually care about there job . When I needed care after a hospital visit in May 2024 and after surgery in October 2024, the Waterford Medical Center provided premium care! I found the entire staff to be highly trained, professional, friendly and most importantly compassionate. My recovery was greatly helped by the skill and care I received from the PT and OT department. While the Health Center is undergoing a total renovation, wing by wing, it never interfered with the daily life and activities provided for the patients. Wait until you see the attention to detail and beautiful new private and semi-private patient rooms. This is definitely a 5 Star facility!

Our family’s experience with Waterford has been nothing short of miraculous. When my mother arrived, she was in a dire state following a major ischemic stroke that had initially been misdiagnosed. She was minimally communicative, heavily medicated, and required extensive assistance for even the simplest tasks. In less than a month, the dedicated team at Waterford has transformed my mother’s life. Today, she is a new person “ or rather, she is her old self again. She’s chatty, charming, and funny. She was so kind, helpful, enthusiastic, caring, and thorough. It is obvious that Maria enjoys her job and takes it to heart, seeking to get to know her customers and their specific needs. I have visited the Health Services and rehabilitation area. They have the facilities well organized to accomplish their jobs, the staff have been nice, and seen the seniors with some activities. However, the food have been served cold. Every time I was there, later felt sore throat and tonsils pain and got sick. This suggest me the air quality is poor and contaminated. Hopefully they will improve in that area

Please take this as a cautionary tale. My mother only got to enjoy the Waterford for three months. She fought tooth and nail against selling and leaving her home of 35 years. Once she had moved into The Waterford, she was angry with herself for not doing it sooner. The staff is excellent, not only during the time she was there but also in her death. She loved the food and she was not one to hide her feeling when it came bad meal. To those who don't want to leave their homes, I understand. Don't make the same mistake my mother did. I highly recommend The Waterford. Make the move.

Because of the pandemic, I was feeling very lonely and isolated. I decided to look at senior living facilities, and what I saw did not come close to fulfilling my needs. Then someone said she had a client who lived at The Waterford and she loved it. I made an appointment and was instantly drawn to the facility, even before looking at the apartments. I was approached by residents as I walked the grounds telling how much they loved living at The Waterford. These were people who had been residing here from between two months and eighteen years! Everyone I passed said hello. The people who work here are extraordinary! They are friendly, helpful and they all call you by name. The residents and staff are like an extended family. The kitchen is very accommodating to dietary needs and will adjust a meal if they are able to do so. The Waterford is a safe haven in a pandemic. Masks are required. Your temperature is taken before entering the facility as well as before entering the dining room. Meals are delivered to apartments for those who feel uncomfortable exiting them. Paper bags are on the tables to store masks safely while dining. Tablecloths and cloth napkins are on each table. The linens are immediately removed and the tables and chairs scoured before the next diners are seated. I have seen four live concerts in the two months I have been here. There are all kinds of activities and exercise classes, both live and on Senior TV. I could keep writing, or you could come for a tour of the Waterford to see for yourself. Welcome! Alyce Ransom

At their front entrance they have a team member checking your temperature and asking detailed questions to make sure it is safe for you to enter their facilities. I appreciated all the care they took into making sure everything was clean and safe. Each team member was smiling and happy to help with anything I had a question about. On the whole The Waterford delivers on its contractual obligations, which are sufficient to make the everyday life of octogenarians reasonably comfortable. My mother was very happy there until she became ill in her 90's. final disgust was when she was taken to hospital with severe pneumonia and they could not find her living will altho it was mandatory to be posted on refrigerator, which it was. The Waterford administration had requested copies of this many times but when push came to shove it was worthless. My daughter and I found it when we arrived with our copy. As a result, she was put on life support which she had did not want per her living will! Our family will never forgive them and hopefully things have improved! Great place when you are well; not so good as you age and become more dependent on aides, and other staff. The two star review was only for her happy earlier years!!

My experience is totally positive. I could not hope to live in a more friendly, caring community. The staff cheerfully and competently sees to our needs. Our excellent chef and his staff provide a nutritious, varied and delicious menu, and the dining venues are a wonderful setting for socializing and entertaineding. The health center is 5-star-rated and is well-known for its rehab facility. Our superb activities department keeps us busy with events to suit a wide range of interests: physical, spiritual and intellectual....and just plain fun. Until I moved here, I did not know aging could be so gratifying. It is wonderful to have so many interesting new friends and I am grateful every day for my decision to move to the Waterford.

The Waterford is a for profit entity that fails at every level. The housing is dated, the "fitness center" is a corner of the card room with a couple of treadmills, the food is not of a high quality. The Health Center is not functional and has a poor reputation. Management appears uncaring, and the staff is often poorly trained. Profits, not residents, seem the primary concern here. Live out your lives in a place that really cares for you . . . this is not the place!
