Also the level of care at this facility is great. My Mom gets great care and they always call me when there is anything wrong or if they see any changes in her. I don't have the words of gratitude to convey the depth of appreciation my family feels toward the people at Her Heart Gardens that cared for our Dad in the last year and a half of his life. Our Dad's dementia caused him to experience confusion and disorientation with occasional episodes of paranoia and hallucinations. Someone from our family visited Daddy every day, and we saw firsthand the love that the staff showered upon him. They kept him safe. They kept him engaged, they talked with him, listened to him and they lovingly interacted with him constantly. He became family to them and they became family to us. When Dad would return to the facility after a day or a weekend away, he was always met with a celebrity-like reception. Staff approaching him with hugs & hellos. He actually looked forward to returning, often reminding us that he needed to get back because "they will be missing me". When our Dad was hospitalized on Easter Sunday, Danny and Alex came to the hospital. When our Dad passed away, several Staff were present at his funeral. We will be forever grateful to the beautiful people that Dad shared his last years of life with--his days were indescribably blessed by each and every member of the Her Heart Family. Our family will never forget them.

My family and I want to thank everyone at Her Heart Gardens for taking such good care of our dad. The staff truly loved my father. He nicknamed it "Danny's Place". My sisters and I visited my dad during the week and took turns with weekend visits at our homes. He was always talking about how good everyone was to him at "Danny's Place". Danny and his sister Alex will always have a special place in our hearts because of how grateful we are for the care they showed our father. They truly loved our Dad and they share our sadness as we all miss him! I am so appreciative that I take my class to sing Christmas carols every year as a way of giving back and saying thank you!

When the love of my life was stricken by Alzheimer’s disease, I faced the most awful, heartbreaking task of my life; finding a safe, loving, caring place to take care of her when I became unable to do so. I visited numerous assisted living facilities with memory care units seeking the best for her. Many of them had large, rather posh apartments and caretaking fees to match. What sold me on Her Heart Gardens was the kind, caring, courteous staff who work there. Everyone from management to supervisors, aids, and even the laundry workers are always so helpful in a cheerful way. The facility is not fancy, but it is kept very clean. I have never noticed any objectionable smells. I have eaten there a time or two and found the food to actually be good (I believe she’s gained a pound or two since no longer having to eat my cooking). They have activities planned regularly to entertain the residents, and a patio for them to enjoy some fresh air when it’s not too hot. My wife’s private room is small, but they have allowed me to decorate it in a way that makes it feel more like her home. It is everything she needs. I visit her fairly often, and notice that the staff not only call me and her by name, but all of the other residents as well. It is so sad what dementia does to people, but this is a happy place for them to thrive. She fit right in from the first day, and has never once asked me to take her home.

Thank goodness for places like Her Heart Gardens! In the spring of 2023 my then 92 year mother started going to adult day care when my siblings needed respite from the challenges of providing in-home care to someone with advancing dementia. Based on our positive experiences we placed Mom here full time a few months later. Mom had a hard time adjusting and acted out with the staff and other people living here for the first 6 months. Staff was very helpful and understanding. They paired her with roommates who she could get along with. She loved playing the piano and had a few songs she could still play as her dementia worsened. Fast forward to spring of 2025, Mom took a sudden turn for the worse and was hospitalized for 2 weeks with major heart problems. She needed higher level care and is now in a nursing home. The best things about Her Heart Gardens are 1) the small size. Mom could find her way around easily and family members got to know the care givers and staff; 2) family owned and family still is in day to day operation on site; 3) great staff. Many are long term in an industry with high turn-over. They care and are responsive to concerns. They got to know Mom and worked well with her when she was in a bad mood/acting out. 4) very clean facility with no odors; and 5) the facility is in a safe area next to single family homes. Her Heart Gardens charges a fair price for all they provide but they are not like the large, modern, fancy, corporate owned assisted living facilities in the region. So don’t expect steak for dinner and yoga classes. But if you are in need of affordable, safe, compassionate care for your loved one this a a place to consider. Her Heart Gardens and their staff have been a blessing to our family. My brother was moved from facility to facility until we found HH Gardens. The staff has shown him nothing but love and provided top notch care. He has thrived in this environment and now calls it his "home". The staff has also been very responsive to our calls and texts providing us updates on him. I highly recommend HH Gardens to anyone who is looking for a loving home for a family member. Words cannot adequately express how grateful I am for this facility and the compassionate staff they employ. Our family was unable to care for our loved one in our home due to the need for 24 hour supervision. I am thankful for the excellent standard of care my mother receives and the frequent communication I receive from the staff. I receive updates just to ensure I am aware of any change in status and to help me plan for the inevitable changes as mom's dementia is progressing swiftly. I appreciate the transparency as the staff is also quite welcoming any time I visit or am able to volunteer.

From the moment my wife and I entered the lobby I knew we were in the right place. There was an immediate obvious cohesion of genuine, sincere caring from the staff, all of the staff. My mother has certain needs as in her dementia is getting worse daily and as I expressed these concerns someone I had not met yet put her hand on my shoulder and warmly stated We got her and they did. I come from a background in the service industry at the highest level and the love and caring towards the residents is not just comforting but remarkable. In a world where no one seems to care this quaint family run facility has found a way to select and train their staff in the paramount standard of exceptional loving care.

Do not put your love one here if they have dementia. Staff is untrained unskilled understaffed. Place smells bad in memory care area.Floors are sticky. No privacy or any form of dignity for patients who need to use restrooms, doors to bathroom are left open and patients are often exposed to anyone walking by. patients do not even get curtains in their rooms to separate each other and have any form of privacy in double occupancy rooms. patients are left in their rooms or not even watched as they roam the halls unattended. Cloths are taken to Laundry and everyone’s cloths are washed together. But never returned to rightful patients even though patients name are clearly labeled on them. Medications are not given to patients unless patients walk up to med techs. Really! Patients with dementia at some point can not remember what happen 10 minutes ago so how are they to remember to walk to med tech? Only use this place if you don’t care for your family member.

My mother was a resident there for just under a year. The care and compassion she received were top-notch. The friendships she made there, the love she received there from every single person, employees and residents, were just amazing. Everyone there is FAMILY. My mother has passed now, but I continue to volunteer there. It keeps me feeling connected to my mom, but also the residents and the staff are just so welcoming and appreciative! I cannot speak highly enough of Heart Heart Gardens Assisted Living and there is no place I would recommend more!

I like it here except I was sent home with no cancelation and I drove an hour there and it's a pca work overnights all she do is talk about ppl and what you to set and listen the entire night if you don't then your lazy and you don't work but other then that I like the facility

My 69-year-old sister, who is developmentally disabled, lived at Autumn Village and then Fort Caroline Gardens. She lived at the two combined for about 5 years. The family who owns both facilities treated her with kindness and respect. The mother who began this family business went out of her way to help my sister make safe shopping trips, when getting in and out of a vehicle became difficult. The sons, Danny and Sean, and daughter, Alex, kept in contact with me whenever I needed them. They all went out of their way time after time to help me manage my sister's care from a distance. When my sister had to move into a rehab facility, this lovely family packed her belongings for me and moved her TV. The picture attached is from the commitment ceremony that we held at Fort Caroline for my sister and her boyfriend. If my sister improves enough to move back to Fort Caroline, we'll be excited for her to return!

A year and a half ago I needed a place for my father (Vietnam Vet) who has dementia. I found out about Ft Caroline Gardens, which is a cozy elder care home nestled in the beautiful surroundings of Ft Caroline. The owners and the staff are very warm, understanding and have provided my Dad with excellent care; especially during the whole Covid outbreak during lockdown. They keep the place clean, the food is great, the residents are monitored 24/7, family members are welcome, and the staff will work with you to provide the best care for your family member. I have taken my 82 year old mom to Fort Caroline Garden for adult daycare services and it has been wonderful! Their Customer service skills are beyond expectations. I would recommend anyone to come to this place for their elderly parents. They answer their text messages immediately no matter what time of day or night I text. I've had bloodwork orders faxed there and they fax it right over to me. We even get to have mom's physical therapy happen at their place, which was totally convenient for us. These people are just awesome!
