My son worked there, they keep promising him a paycheck for his time, that has been over 7 weeks, everyone has been paid 4 times now, he is still waiting on his, He is MINOR. [name removed] the director did not do her job nor the rest of the staff when he was hired. Yes a MINOR and they are not paying him what he is owed. They change the dates of when the check is coming, it changes every time it is supposed to come in. Changed AGAIN today to now Friday. Maybe an attorney is in order.

I recently moved my mother to the Meridian at Westwood. She LOVES it! The staff is amazing and she really enjoys the other residents she now calls friends. After living in her home of 30 years I was concerned about the adjustment. Everyone has made her feel very welcome and she has settled right in. There was a miscommunication regarding some of the costs associated with her moving in/rent, but Jennifer and Becky worked with us to remedy it very quickly. For that, we are super grateful! My mom looks forward to many years here!

We are looking for a new living alternative for my father-in-law and Jennifer gave us a tour today and it was amazing! Everything was clean and spacious and the staff was friendly! Jennifer was very informative and answered all of our questions. Hoping he's soon a resident at Meridian at Westwood!

My mother was at this facility for 2 1/2 years and was cared for impeccably until her death in August 2024. My mother was in the memory care unit, so please consider the Meridian At Westwood if you have a loved one in need of assistance. The providers in the memory care area truly care about your loved ones and keep them clean and occupied. The whole facility is classy and provides a decent living for America's elderly.

Beware of the Meridian. They fired the executive director on our arrival date, August 2023. The temporary replacement had no idea who we were, nor could they find a file for my loved one. They never did find his file! After 4 months my loved one passed…on January 4, 2024. My family removed his belongings on January 6, 2024, with a final walkthrough at 3:30pm. It is now 4 months later. I have not received my refund, which was due to me no later than 45 days after we vacated his room. That was Mid February, it is now MAY. Numerous phone calls are completely ignored both on site and with the parent company, Pacifica, out of San Diego, CA.

The Meridian at Westwood is LOADED with amenities, to include physical therapy in-house, a nail & hair salon, AND a pool. I was most impressed with the informed/informative friendly staff. I had an opportunity to witness interaction between a staff & a resident and was quite pleased with the outcome. Working with Coleman McAtee was a pleasure. I found him a very professional & delightfully personable man who helped me every step of the way. I feel very confident that my mother will enjoy her new home at the Meridian.

My dad stays here and LOVES IT! There's always plenty of activities for the residents and the staff is amazing and friendly. Tammy is very attentive and responsive and Tim with maintenance runs a tight ship. Highly recommend this place for senior living.

Recently I had the opportunity to work with the team at Meridian at Westwood. This experience has been a gift for the heart. The people who work here really care about the residents and the community. I would retire here honestly it’s so beautiful, warm and friendly. I can recommend this community because I’ve learned it inside and out. It’s a good place with a welcoming population of seniors that make you feel at home

I toured a few senior living homes for mother. My mother is 85. Meridian at Westwood hit the mark. I found Meridian at West was much cheaper than Bob Hope Village but Meridian at West wood was more home-like. Westwood also seems to have more daily activities than the other facilities. Brookdale in Destin was VERY nice and beautifully nestled in the Bay Town Wharf area’s multi-million dollar home subdivisions. Brookdale was a little more expensive, the rooms were nice but they were also slightly smaller—although nicely laid out. Brookdale had a colder feeling to me, although it is a pretty place and the resident apartments have screened in porches. Brookdale also did not offer independent living, which is really what my mother needed for now. I ultimately decided I didn’t want to battle summer tourist traffic each week to drive to Brookdale, since I live in Niceville. One of the things that I do love about Meridian at Westwood is the social area. The ceiling let’s in direct sunlight, similar to an Antrim. This is the main area for the residents to socialize and it’s surrounded with live trees and beautiful plants. It’s beautiful. All of these senior living places are expensive, in my opinion. My mother could only afford a studio apartment, in the independent living category, since she is living off of the proceeds from her home sale. HOWEVER, despite this, we were able to comfortably fit a love seat, a recliner, coffee table, end table, a bistro cafe table set in her kitchen area and a full size bed and bed side table. Her studio apartment is perfect for her. It’s manageable and it lets in lots of light. Everyday they check on her, all meals are included and she is already making friends. The residents and the staff have been so welcoming. It was a very big transition for my mother but Meridian at Westwood is looking to be the right decision. I wish we would have placed her there sooner. I hope others find this review helpful.

I have been a resident for over 5 years. Over all I have been very happy here. Very relaxed and enjoy the happy hour! I have a nice group I sit with and have a good time. Have made some good friend here. I feel safe and comfortable with my cat in my apartment. The staff here gets a 10 star rating. They go over and above the call of duty to help everyone here. I dont think you can find a better place to live.

I just wanted to say that I will be celebrating my first year working here at the end of April 2021. So many challenges we were faced with but the management team and staff worked so hard everyday to see that the needs of our residents were not only met, but exceeded. My job is to bring the fun, and keep everyone happy and upbeat and I sure do take that seriously! Ask anyone whos seen me dancing in the dining room! Ha! We are so blessed and privilidged to serve such incredible residents. We are a big family here. A family member moved into the Meridian this month and we are very happy that we chose this place! The Meridian is clean, brightly lit, and feels like a resort hotel. The marketing staff went out of their way to make our transition from another state to FL as seamless as possible, in spite of the pandemic. We received accurate information and were informed of options throughout the process. The caretakers on our floor are helpful, cheerful, and treat our family member like an adult. We are very happy with our decision.

I visited this community in October and it was clean and the employees and residents were really engaged with each other. The pool is sparkling and the food looked delicious. I had the best hamburger and DELICIOUS fries for lunch. Great Place!

After living at The Meridian for one month, it felt like home. The staff is amazingly friendly and accommodating. The food is almost too delicious if you are watching your waistline. The one bedroom apartment is spacious. There is an overall welcoming and friendly atmosphere and newcomers are made to feel welcome both by the staff and other residents. Medical care is steps away at the hospital or at the White Wilson Medical Center. The arrangement of the apartments around a six-story indoor atrium invites socializing.

My mother is currently a resident in an independent living room. Meridian staff look after their residents well in both independent living and assisted living. The level of care and attention seniors receive at the Meridian exceeds my expectations. Staff are friendly, and they check in on independent living residents too. Theres a nurse onsite as well for consultation, and thats not something a senior will have at home.

I visited this with my Mom yesterday and it is a beautiful big place. A large atrium that feels like a fancy hotel surrounded by rooms on 5 floors. The dining room is gorgeous with fancy dinnerware. This place speaks of more independent living which my Mom liked. The rooms are bigger and the mini kitchen had a regular refrigerator, mini stove and oven. But after a few hand dish washing episodes, I think she would be down in dining hall. They have an activity book you can sign up to go places with. It feels like a more independent living, protected community than an assisted living facility. My concern is more levels, more walking or rollating for my Dad to get from room to main level, and busyness of elevators at prime times and capacity size with wheel chairs and rollators inside. It might tend to make him stay in room more although my Mom would go out still. All in all both places we visited were lovely and more than I expected. Its all about what your wants and needs are in the end.

I spent 7 years in Destin in individual living. When I turned 98 years old, I got tired of doing housework, laundry, etc. and I began searching this area of Florida for a retirement community. After looking at several retirement communities I finally found the best one in the area. The Meridian at Westwood was by far the best I had seen and I could not help but move in. The community offered so much more than the others I had seen. I had not doubt this was the place I wanted to live the rest of my life. I have been here two years now and I am glad I chose The Meridian to spend the rest of my years. Now at 100 years old I have enjoyed my last two years and have no complaints. There are many amenities, but the atrium with the palm trees provide an outdoor feel while indoors! Like an upscale hotel. The residents are friendly. Daily activities and weekly entertainment keep you busy. The food is excellent. I could not of found a better community.

We came here as an ambulance strike team during hurricane Michael. We were camped out in the parking lot when someone noticed. The Meridian staff opened their doors and welcomed us into some empty rooms in their facility and treated us better than well! From food, lodging, showers and air conditioning, hospitality was abundant. If they care for a bunch of Paramedics and EMTs from all over the country the way they did, I can only imagine the care received by the residents! Speaking of which, all of the residents seemed genuinely happy in their clean home with more amenities than I can list. The staff knows them all by name. THANK YOU MERIDIAN STAFF!

I live here and I love it! The staff is attentive, kind, and helpful. The meals are excellent. My family joined me today at the Easter brunch, which was delicious! A large variety of activities is available. Trips to local stores are offered regularly. The facility is currently undergoing major remodeling and will be better than ever.

What an amazing concept for senior living. A beautiful building smack in the center of the hospital district. I attended an art show hosted by the community and didn't want to leave. The residents and staff were so welcoming I couldn't resist when a lady asked if I would like to see her apartment. It was beautiful and so well maintained. I am confident that when the time comes for me to have to consider senior living options for my parents The Meridian will be first on my list!!

What a beautiful community. Visited a friend that moved in recently and I am in love with this place. As soon as you walk in, I smelled fresh baked cookies. Was pleasantly greeted by the receptionist who had the best smile. She was so very kind and gave me the directions to the room that I needed. The atrium is expansive and beautiful with so much natural light. I was so amazed at the size of my friends room. She asked if I wanted to stay for lunch, and immediately went to her TV where she flipped to a channel that showed the menu and the activities for the day. The food was amazing. Great salad bar and the food was fresh. Oh my at the dessert... didn't think food in places like this could be so good. This is definitely on my list of the place I want to go when I get ready to retire and enjoy life!! Wonderful!!

I have lived at The Meridian for more than a year. It has a wonderful atrium, lots of card games going on all the time. The staff is very helpful from the maids who clean your room, to the waiters in the dining room. There are many activities to keep you busy and entertainers are brought in.
