I have always lived in a house, but this apartment is beautiful and I am very happy
April 2026
Pro's: new management has been trying to correct current problems these are: food service, food is of poor quality, improperly cooked, and too repetitive. (menus were designed around 1 entre) carrots, celery, potatoes, harvard beets, old green beans, white fish that was presented gray, slow and inconsistent service, green stems on tomatoes in soups, peas were never the same, undercooked or too hard to eat, Italian night used Italian dressing instead of olive oil for dipping. Only excellent food were the desserts which were not made in house, servers rarely asked if butter/sour cream/or margarine were wanted when a baked potato was served. Soups were the easiest items to digest, but they were often fatty. My mouth burned when eating a pineapple salsa and a non hot version was not offered nor an alternative. Gravy was used more often than healthier broths. High Fat foods were common and many residents were heart patients. I developed diverticulitis twice while eating the food. , only 1 elevator in each wing of main building, which has been breaking down at least twice since Jan 2026 no service elevator no service entrance separate from resident entrance, therefore service trucks often created blockage or obstacles for handicapped parking. vents were full of mold, water in units was high in phosphorus exaggeration of what is provided by marketing and online pictures, for instance, they were people sitting in the hallway when I came for my visit that were staged to give the appearance that people were friendly. transportation provided to doctors is highly limited -- only mornings and only 1 day per week to each section of the city and/or Cape Coral Brookdale had 3 calendars posted at main lobby which were a contradiction of each other. Card games were private. Poker starting time was very strict. procedures in riding buses were unclear. People did not understand that the front of the bus was for handicapped vehicles which take precedent over walkers. Some pluses. Staff meant well. But the communication and detailed implementation was not clear or understood at all levels in regards to what it meant to be picked up at the villas, if a delivery was received, some concierges responded 'I don't know, instead of I will pass the message on, or I will try to find out for you. Too much turn over in kitchen staff, probably, because the manager yelled at people in front of other employees, residents, and while one was eating in dining area. Positives: nice size villas, repairs were done but staff barged in sometimes at inconvient times. Dog park was added, but lighting to walk dogs after dark was poor, dog park was not centrally located, rather only convenient to the West wing, parties were nice, happy hour had some good music but seating was always inadequate, one had to go 1 hour before the event to get a seat. Corn hole was conducted fairly, although cancellation was by word of mouth, bridge games were advertised but no staff member organized them Puzzles were a plus in each wing, Hair dresser was good. Overall the value was not there for the price paid. There were no tenant rights. Lease was not effective for 1 year and it was highly biased in favor of the management. People who give 5 stars do it because they like the staff, not because they have compared the benefits against the cost.

I am so happy to have become a resident of Brookdale college parkway. It's the best thing I've ever done and I wish I had done it a little bit sooner. Wonderful staff, friendly people, so many activities to get involved with. Very good food. I just love it here. This is my last stop

Brookdale College Parkway has become my home and I intend for that to be. I came here nervous about another huge change. But I am pleased I did. Not perfect but growing, and changing with improvements on a consisent level. It carries the feel of home for me and I consider the residents ... family.

Best independent senior living facility in Ft.Myers. The villas and apartments are beautiful. The staff is amazing, the food is delicious and the residents are the kindest people. It’s easy to make friends here and get involved in many activities. It’s pet friendly and just a happy place to live. Take a tour you will be amazed. If you leave to check out other places you will be back. Nothing compares to Brookdale on College.

We have the best residents and staff. Love the days with music and other special activities.

I had an easy time leaving my house and moving into one of the Villas. No place is perfect but Brookdale is pretty darn good. We meet with the chef weekly to go over the previous weeks menu and make suggestions. The activities are fun and you can always find someone to play cards with. I love the location because shopping, doctors and restaurants are so close. I truly feel that all of the staff care about the residents.

They provide such a safe place for my mom and her friends. So many fun activities happen on a daily basis. I feel comfortable knowing that my mom is happy.

I have lived and enjoyed Brookdale College Parkway for three years. My son Frank came across Brookdale on the Internet, I had never heard of such a place before. We looked at numerous other facilities in the area And have found this to be the most comfortable, Attentive, and welcoming place in the area. In addition to the Director, The staff have been upbeat, helpful & compassionate individuals. Keeping my independence was important to me, and here I have found it. my two bedroom two bath apartment with a sunroom reminds me very much of the townhome that I left up in Illinois Without the housework in the snow! The best part is that I’ve made many friends and could choose to be involved with the many activities. I found the food to be very good and many different choices. Should I need assistance or help it’s available here in a shot. I feel safe. I would recommend Brookdale College Parkway Florida highly. ClareMarie
