Love living at Amavida, a true resort style complex. The residents are friendly and staff accomodating. It is a brand new facility so working out a few kinks but staff has been responsive. A lot of new hires as they continually strive to find and hire the best employees to serve our residents. It is filling up fast with entusiastic new residents. UPDATE: Celebrated two years enjoying living at Amavida. At 75 people think I am young for Senior living but I wanted to be able to fully enjoy the resort living without responsibities. So glad I did. I lead a busy, active life and enjoy the community spirit. I also enjoy our own entrance to Lakes Park. Why wait when you could be living the good life at Amavida. Over 5 years now at Amavida and couldn't be happier. I've watched it grow and develop. The staff is terrific. We enjoy a variety of dining experiences. There are activities and clubs to cover any interest. This is truly care free living at its finest. Now in my eighth year of loving life at Amavida. Ive seen a lot of changes as we work to keep facilities updated, continually expand Enrichment programs and activities and improve our dining experience. Highly recommend checking Amavida out for yourself.

My Mom moved to Amavida Memory Care in Aug 2025. Mom was at another Assisted Care facility for 8 years prior to moving, so obviously it was not an easy transition for a 92 year old. Since then she has adjusted to her new environment with the help of the staff in the unit. The memory care staff has gone above and beyond to help with the transition. They have been there for Mom when she needs calming, help and reassurance. They have been there to support me with this difficult decision and move. Ruth Watson, the Manager of Memory Care always goes out of her way to keep me updated and informed of progress, problems and anything needing communicated. Amavida is a beautiful facility and I have been happy with the care my Mom gets here.

This community has been a godsend for my grandparents. They started in independent living and were able to transition seamlessly to assisted living when the time was right. I need to give a shoutout to Dayna as well - the US Navy doesn’t have a ship that’s run as tightly as she runs the AL front desk. Our parents downsized and, being in their 80’s, moved to Amavida Assisted Living in 2021. Everything was transitioned exceptionally well and medications back on track. After our Fathers death our mother was moved to a smaller residence; again a seamless transition where she was well taken care of, entertained/exercised daily, and provided excellent food. As her Dementia/Alzheimers progressed she was relocated to the Memory Care Unit and has been provided a modern/clean, active, and loving environment. I toured Amavida today with Beth and was very impressed with the beauty and layout of the facility. I only toured the Memory Care, but all areas I came in contact with were bright, clean, updated and open! The staff all greeted me and were helpful. The rooms were sufficient and had room to maneuver a wheelchair, if necessary. There are several activities for those interested, also. They even have a nice pool and gorgeous outdoor sitting areas. A resident stated she's been there 6 years and loves it and the menu had many choices for each meal time. I would say it looks like a wonderful place for seniors needing more care, as they age. I’ve spent quite a bit of time at this community, and I can honestly say it’s one of the most welcoming and thoughtfully designed places for older adults. I do not do reviews But this massive property that is so beautiful along with many many services is worth a word or two. My dad was in the assisted living side for several years. The staff there is incredible. Everyone is so kind to everyone that lives there. I would be amiss if I did not do a shout out to Dayna the concierge and also Carletta the nurse. Dayna, who is quick with a joke and the first to jump up when someone needs something. Carletta is soft spoken and kind. I had the occasion to visit there last week and Dayna encouraged me to please write a review if I was pleased with the service my dad received there along with any other good things. She even showed me something to make it easy for a non techy person. It was all good for him there. He became too ill to live there or he would still be there. Dayna went up and beyond many many times. We were grateful for the staff that seems so caring and a safe place for my dad to live.

I love baking and when my oven was not working properly maintenance came and ordered a new unit because it could not be fixed. The staff is awesome! They have become like extended family! I'd always walked past it but never gone inside. I had a client there and was blown away when I saw the interiors. There are two types of apartments: a classic one-bedroom and a two-bedroom. My mom has lived in Independent Living at Amavida for a little over two years. I live in Ohio but have spent a lot of time there due to work on her house in Sanibel since Hurricane Ian. I also manage my mom's affairs for her from afar. I am blown away by Amavida. First of all, their buildings and grounds are elegant and beautiful. Gorgeous decor and landscaping, with a nice courtyard in the center of the independent living building, a really nice movie theater, a really nice gym with personal training and PT/OT, two restaurants, I think three pools (at least one of which is heated), a library, an art studio, activity rooms, a salon, and probably more. The people who work there from the management down are top notch - consistently kind, caring, respectful, and service-oriented. They really value the dignity of the residents. The concierge desk, housekeeping, restaurant staff, porters, shuttle drivers, and security staff all work in concert to provide a safe, loving, fun environment for all who live there. I think the food is fantastic, and it varies. Their activities coordinator constantly provides fun and varied offerings and decorates beautifully for the season and holidays. The restaurants both have a bar. The office staff have been very helpful to me and are enthusiastically involved in community events like fashion shows and bake sales. There is coffee, tea, and hot chocolate available 24/7 in the lobby. The security staff is excellent and caring. I love it there. The staff have gone above and beyond in many ways for my mom. The people that work there seem to enjoy their work and have good senses of humor. It's a wonderful environment, and I highly recommend it. The residents are active and very involved. I'm attaching to this review some photos of the Train Room at Amavida, which is a creation of a group of Amavida residents. It's unbelievable.

For the past 18 months, we have conducted due diligence in researching, evaluating, considering and visiting numerous Florida retirement communities as potential candidates for our lives' next stage "forever" homes. Some turned out to be weary and dated, others gaudy and excessively palatial and ostentatious, yet others unrelaxed, formal, constrained and restrictive. There was one, however, that stood palpably superior in all measures to the others we had reviewed ... and that community is Amavida Living of Fort Myers' west coast. The consideration that initially caught our attention and nominated Amavida's candidacy was the "no costly buy in / no long term contract" aspect afforded by the community. In retrospect, that was a primary but decreasingly important asset as we delved deeper into the community and discovered its lengthy panoply of values and benefits. From the moment we first approached the community, walked through its manicured and richly planted grounds, and entered its capacious, bright, cheerful and welcoing lobby we turned to each other and simultaneously said: "This feels like home." And so it did, exuding an enwombing sense of familiarity, comfort and peace. Of course, we took the requisite private tour of the campus, conducted by the warm, human, pressure-less, soft spoken and endearing Martha Davilla, Director of Business Development who has, over time, grown to become one of our inner circle of friends. To Martha's credit, rather than directing, monitoring and shadowing our each and every step, we were given carte blanche to explore as we chose, to randomly interact with staff members and with residents whose paths we might cross. One universal message we heard repeatedly and forcefully from every resident, man and woman, regardless of age: "Yes, we are happy to be here here. The only question: Why didn't we do this sooner. From the staff: "We are extremely happy to be here. " and one could tell that, behind the energetic replies and beaming faces, they were truly sincere and WERE glad to be at Amavida. We could go on for several pages more: the enticing meals as discerned from past, current and planned menus. The spacious airiness and relaxed pastel and calming colors predominant throughout the campus. The well thought out, supremely functional and more than adequate apartment designs. The responsible and mature pet policy. The graciousness and dedication to their residents' physical and spiritual well being of the enire Amavida staff. This is a retirement and assisted living place that is beautiful, great staff and residents. They offer lots of activities and the food is great with choices of meals and their are several dining rooms. Dinning room looks like a restaurant and the rooms look like hotel rooms. I hope I can some day live in a place like this. I must see and visit. Residents are addressed by Mr/Mrs/Ms. There are many husband and wife’s living here.

Almost 1 year after leaving Amavida retirement community in Fort Myers, FL, I still miss living there. Everything for retirees is easily available. The facility is relatively new, top notch, clean and so well staffed. The meals are excellent as was the meal service. The apartments are nicely cleaned each week and the entire facility is impeccably clean. If anyone is seeking a place for the parent[s], or grandparent[s], or for yourselves, be sure to visit Amavida.

Amavida was a gracious host to The Jewish Federation of Lee and Charlotte Counties Lunch Bunch program. The staff worked hard to make sure that our event was user-friendly - from parking to signage to great food and good cheer by everyone we encountered. The food was delicious and all of the waitstaff were friendly and kind. We used the movie theatre at Amavida after lunch to view a slide presentation by a local artist, capping off a wonderful afternoon.

I just had the fortunate opportunity of going through a hurricane (Ian) with incredibly talented and dedicated staff, and our wonderful family of residents. I say fortunate because we came through it a closer group of people and completely unscathed...well except the landscaping which took a pounding. Amavida was the perfect choice for my parents. The Vistas (Assisted Living) and The Meadows (Memory Care) neighborhoods, both have the best care team, very active community calendars, wonderful amenities, but best of all the care team has a HUGE HEART. They give my parents the individualized care they need and my parents are very happy. This alone is priceless. I could not have made a better decision. Having my parents being well cared for gives me piece of mind knowing that they are in great hands.
