My husband and I placed his father in their care earlier this year. We both are pleasantly pleased with how clean the facility is. It always has a pleasant fragrance throughout the buildings every time we come to visit. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Patricia has been very helpful in communication and overseeing the facility. Everyone that we’ve encountered who live there appear to be happy and enjoy their surroundings. My father n law is happy there and is doing very well since he’s adjusted to his new surroundings.

I had to come back and do a review! So, it started when the administrator, Patty Cook, came to the Nursing Home I was living in and literally opened my eyes to what's out there besides a stinky nursing home. I was diagnosed with breast cancer while living in Harbor House in addition to recovering from a spinal cord injury and learning to walk again. Patty never let me give up or go a day without knowing she, and her wonderful girls, loved me. Patty genuinely cares! I lived there for about a year and it's been almost a year since I've moved on from Harbor House. I moved on not because I was unhappy but because I moved to more independent living. I'm cancer free today and walking unassisted as a direct result of Patty Cook and her loving me back to health. She toughened me up and I'm so grateful. Harbor House is a gem- all you need is a zest for life..... Heck, even if you don't have that zest when you arrive - you will soon! Thank you Patty and everyone for loving me back to health

Patti is an amazing administrator! She puts her residents first and is always doing innovative projects with the facility. I have personally visited the home and would feel extremely comfortable putting a family member in as a resident.

My mother entered assisted living at Harbor House at Ocala in 2015 where I visited her almost every day until her passing in March of this year, 2024. Therefore, I was in close touch with all of the management, employees, services, activities and overall care for my mother for almost ten years. I will say that both she and I were very pleased with the way the staff treated her during those years. Yes, there were a few inconsistencies with opinion- based overviews over the years, but that is to be expected. But I can say that we were fortunate to find Harbor House in 2015 and will remember all of the staff over those nine years for their kindness and attention to Mom's needs. I will say that at the end of her life, she looked back over the years and said that she was very happy there, and the friendships she made with both staff and residents meant so much to both of us. I could name so very many, and I especially would like to recognize Patty Cook, the current director at Harbor House. During moms final weeks and days of life, Patty ensured that everything that I needed to address the waning days was administered to. She displayed genuine caring and concern for both mom and myself, not just during this challenging time, but from Patty's first few weeks at the facility. And the staff, or I will say friends? Absolutely wonderful. They devoted as much time as they could to mom, efforts that really were sources of emotional support for us. Thank you, Patty, and everyone at Harbor House at Ocala now, and over the years. I must not overlook the care that was provided by everyone from Gentiva Hospice. Also absolutely wonderful, with consistency being par excellence. Thank you, all.

Do not take your loved ones to the harbor House in dunnellon Florida when they die the staff steals their belongings administrator does nothing they also run out of food all the time they get bathed once a week nasty place

I attended Harbor House's OPEN HOUSE held by the Director, Mrs. Cook. This place is absolutely beautiful and amazing. The residents are happy to be there. The place has been renovated to make their life easier. The employees WANT to be there - which says a lot. Mrs. Cook has done an absolute amazing job on this place, and I would whole heartedly not hesitate to have my family members reside here, should the need arise. If you are contemplating

Went by for a tour. Thinking about a place for my mother in the future. Patricia Cook the director gave us an excellent tour. The place was extremely clean and you could tell it's well run. We had lunch while we were there and I was blown away by how great the food was. Homemade soup everyday? That's unheard of at most places and my mom loved it. We'll definitely keep this place in mind for the future care of my mother. Thanks Patricia for all you've done for this place!

In the nine years that my mother was a resident and until her recent passing, she was always treated very well with respect and understanding. Sure, there are always ups and downs in any facility, and I've spoken out about them, but nine years' worth of experience has resulted in an overall exceptional rating with how my mother was treated. And, I couldn't have asked for more support than was given to me by the staff and by Gentiva Hospice during mom's final weeks of life, support that was both emotional, professional, and so very much needed. So, I'm viewing our entire nine-year experience with Harbor House, not just a snapshot in time, and base my rating upon that.

Harbor house is run by a director that treats seniors like family and expects nothing but the best for her residents. She has made some tough decisions but if you aren’t of the same mind set to give your all and put residents first, then you need to find another field to work.

I wanted to take a moment to highlight the exceptional management team at Harbor House of Ocala. Patricia, the direct director, ensures that all residents are well taken care of and goes above and beyond in her role. The housekeeping team does a fantastic job maintaining the facility, and the dining room has recently been updated for residents to enjoy their home-cooked meals daily. Residents especially love the soup of the day. I highly recommend booking a tour to see Harbor House of Ocala for yourself. You won't regret it.

Office manager has been arrested for larceny and elder abuse. Need I say more? This place will be closed by the government after an investigation. What goes around comes around. Oh, and a prior review posted here. She was arrested for larceny and elder abuse.

My name is Ollie Hilliard, it was Rowe when I moved to Florida. My friend has lived at Harbor House of Ocala for 5 years. She is 93 years old and is a delight to be around. Jane is happy with the care and what this facility offers. Jane has peace of mind and is secure and is just enjoying the rest of her life not having to worry. I visit her whenever I want to and there is always positive activities going on. Denise, the director is always there to answer any questions. I would love to give Harbor House a 10, but they only have 5 stars available. Go and see for yourself, you would want your loved ones to live in peace also.
