I made a wrong decision and picked a different facility which I will not name, initially for memory care. My grandfather was at this other facility for less than a day until it became clear that they were not prepared to care for my grandfather in his current stage of decline. My grandfather’s doctor recommended Brookdale in DeLand and in less than 5 hours, the executive director of Brookdale offered to cover the cost of the second move. Since m grandfather has been ere his care has been top notch and the staff is always attentive and responsive. I would highly recommend Brookdale in DeLand for anyone seeking memory care that lives within A 60 mile radius. 11 out of 10 stars

Hello my name is Mary Lou and my husband has been resident here a Brookedale in Deland, Florida since March of 2017 and let me explain how lucky I am to have my loved one in such a great facility. My loved one was in 3 other facilities before coming to Brookdale. The stress was through the roof for me. Some of the other facilities were losing his clothes, druging him to the point he would barely talk, he fell and broke ribs In One-of the other facilities. Brookdale is very different, they really care about their people and check on them often, and if there is an important issue they check on them more often and are very caring. The other thing is this facility is very very clean, this unit opened two and a half years ago, and there is no odors, and if there is they clean the person and there room immediately, its amazing. The visitors who come here to see him sparaticIy always tell me how clean and neat everything is and that makes a big difference. So this the reason I give Brookdale a 5 star rating, I never slept a night with peace until my loved one came here. I know people fall but the safety measures here are very good and I feel confident that his is very safe here. I recommend that people check out several facilities and compare, because after 3 other facilities this one is the best. Thank you, Mary Lou Schanck

BEST experience of 5 places toured. Their Facebook page drew us in, and the residents were just as happy in person as in the pics online. Warm, welcoming feeling from the moment we were greeted at the door to the managers, cooks and caregivers we met. Questions were about our family and what our parents need, not the high-pressure sign now or youll regret it when someone falls and gets hurt at home scare-tactic pitches experienced elsewhere. Not the lowest prices, but Mom always says, You get what you pay for, so were choosing Brookdale DeLand.
