My experience with Granny Nannies at the very beginning was somewhat of a difficult start. My mother fell and broke her femur in June of 2021. Between covid and the lack of caregivers, we had a very hard time finding the right people and having to have caregivers that spoke English. Meghan (the owner) was always very helpful with any of the problems that arose, but the assistants that were in charge of my mother's account where not helpful at all in keeping me informed of any of the problems that would arise. Such as a caregiver would not be able to come that day. Until I was given a new assistant named Melvin. He was a life saver and kept me informed of everything and anything that I needed to know. If you are lucky enough to have him as your assistant, you will never be disappointed. I would have given them 5 stars if I would have had Melvin from the start.

Over the weekend my mom's caregiver became sick and, out of an abundance of caution, stayed home so as to not risk my mom catching her cold. Before I had a chance to call Granny Nannies, the after hours team called to tell me that they were working to get my mom an alternative caretaker. The team then called me periodically to update me on progress. They soon found a caregiver who had just ended her shift and agreed to stay with my mom for the weekend The new caregiver arrived on time. Shortly after she arrived, the After Hours team called to confirm the new caretaker's arrival and make sure that everything was okay. I could not have asked for better support. When the new caretaker arrived my mom was opposed to a new caregiver and was adamant that she would leave in the morning. The caretaker did a fantastic job of winning my mom over and by Monday morning my mom was asking for her phone number so that she could stay in touch. Both the After Hours team and the caretaker showed tremendous commitment and are a credit to Granny Nannies.

I must begin with stating how wonderful my experience was with GRANNY NANNIES :):). They were inquisitive of me in a personable manner, to get to know best how they could attend what I was needing for direct personal support. They were extremely communicative and structured up front during initial intake of my information, and such carried all the way through to ultimately being helped by their assigned service provider and personal care support staff. If there is an in-home care team I'd recommend it would absolutely be this group!!! The initial intake and coordination was performed by MEGHAN, and while I hadn't expected the level of her getting to know me at that stage and through our first conversation, I was so grateful she did as it set the tone for the remainder of my time working with them. (She provided me with an assured sense of care from the start which to be honest, was something I was needing in face of a procedure I was about to attend. Feeling I was in good hands for this important logistic and care application was monumental to me)... And once my service request was entered, she assigned me my care coordinator. SARAH, my coordinator, was in touch with me on a regular basis in approach to my pending date(s) requested. She helped me navigate and finalize the timing of the care assistant's arrival and duration, and she selected someone to be there for me that I can truthfully say I could not have felt more secure with. I very much recognized and appreciate the initiatives Sarah took on my behalf to ensure I was covered. And she was in connection to me all the way through past completion of services. (Both Sarah and Meghan for that matter remained directly accessible the entire time which was a big part of why I felt so re-assured. And their after hours contact line was also on point as well and extremely responsive). And I'd be absolutely remiss if I didn't mention my care provider LOREIDA... First and foremost, her punctuality was immediately assuring. I didn't have to reach out, she did to me on her way and approach to my location well in advance of the scheduled start time. And her expertise became quickly apparent as I was still in the hospital (it was my discharge day) as she was able to fluidly assist me with coordinating the medical care the hospital attending and nurses were instructing me with. And for me, not only was she knowledgeable, but the fact I only speak english, and her being bi-lingual, it facilitated such a wonderful experience upon my departure from the hospital - one of confidence, as nothing was lost in translation (omg and everyone at that hospital too was so kind and caring also). And I needed that because I was very much in a vulnerable state.... And her initiative to complete additional logistics on route to my place of stay was so nice. I felt I almost didn't have to do anything other than focus on recovery. She made me feel comfortable, and she was so extremely sweet and kind-hearted.... And to sum it all up, the moment it was time for her to depart, I remember feeling I didn't want her to leave - Loreida, if you read this, thank you again so very much for your support and care of me!! It really has meant everything and has made such a difference:):)

I have come across this business numerous times while they were caring for both neighbors and clients of mine. Granny Nannies of Dade County focus on individualized client care and they take extra measures to make sure their clients are matched with caregivers that have specific traits to compliment their clients needs. Another bonus with this company is that they are able to also provide transportation services as well, they dont use a third party (uber) to transport their clients when needed. My mom was a tough cookie and didnt feel she needed anyone to be with her, so the person had to be very easygoing and give my mom her space while still close enough for her many needs—balance, meal assistance, washing her hair—and being a friend to talk to and play games with when my mom would let her guard down.

Their main mission is to help the Miami community age in place with a caregiver that matches their needs. They offer home intakes anytime of the day with the client to insure that with their 300+ caregiver database the staffing coordinators can find the right caregivers for each client and their individualized needs. This organization personally goes to internal doctors to make sure that if their clients need activities of daily living (ADL) help, that Granny Nannies of Miami is there to educate the families so their loved ones do NOT have to go to a nursing home. They were punctual, pleasant, and extended a good deal of patience when dealing with my mother. I felt that my mother was in good hands when she was in their care. Additionally, on the second occasion that I used Granny Nannies, the care giver that was assigned to us came on short notice as my regular care giver needed to leave town on an family emergency and Granny Nannies was able to provide their service to us when we were really in need. The administrative process was smooth and i was provided with a very competent and sweet aide who took excellent care of my mom.
