My mother has been in The Memory Care at Sonata at Boynton Beach for the past seven months. When David Arana, Memory Care Director arrived, everything improved. He is kind, caring, and has such a compassionate way with all the residents in building one. David is an excellent leader and he encourages all of his staff to treat each and every resident like they are family. Thank you to David and all his staff for making my mom feel at home at Sonata.

My mother-in-law has been a resident at Sonata Boynton Beach Memory Care for about 2 years. She is well cared for and appears to be happy. She was previously in a skilled nursing facility, following a car accident. When we visited at that facility, she often wanted to leave with us. That no longer happens at Sonata. She’s content and thinks of it as home. Her room is spacious and decorated to her liking. It’s always clean, as are her clothes, hair and nails. Overall, the facility is homey, rather than institutional. We’ve been pleased since day one. However, we’ve noticed a number of subtle changes for the better in recent months, since the arrival of David Arana, Memory Care Director. David has a professional charm and charisma that permeates throughout Building 4. Upon arrival, we are now greeted by staff members in a pleasant manner and in a more timely fashion. It is obvious that they pay attention to the residents and and know their likes and dislikes. Big thank you to David and staff.

The staff at Memory Care has been outstanding. Throughout the pandemic they have worked tirelessly to keep routines as normal as possible including making sure residents had access to Zoom calls with loved ones. I am so thankful for their efforts.

We visited most assisted living facilities in Delray/Boynton Beach to find a new home for my mother as her health declined. Crystal and Chris were by far the most knowledgeable and credible and were the primary reasons we chose Sonata. They have a great facility, 24 hour on site nursing and a compassionate, loving and caring staff. As promised, aides typically respond in minutes to a call for assistance. As our care needs increased Sonata was able to provide assistance with oxygen and ultimately teamed closely with hospice. We highly recommend Sonata and are very grateful to this tremendous team.

My best friend since high school parents had gotten ill and more dependent over the years. They are like my own parents so we decided we had to do something. We tired a couple places before we moving to Sonata Boynton Beach and I must say they love it there. Whenever we visit they always have nice things to say about the staff. The care is more than expected, Christal the marketing director was well informed and gave us a great tour and lots of information about the property and was vary patient with us. Special thanks to Fitzgerald for the great food and making dad so happy he can see that you really care and listen. Last week when we visited he was talking with dad and he was so alive and vibrant and happy. We are very grateful to know he takes the time to visit almost every day because her didn't want to leave his chair and eventually got him to go to the dining room. We have been in other senior living community but we are sure this is the right place for dad.

Sonata Boynton Beach, 5-Star Review Short version: Outstanding personnel and excellent facilities! Highly recommend this Assisted Living/Memory Care Facility! Detailed version:Our first contact and meeting with Christine (Chris) Cheeseman, Executive Director was very encouraging, optimistic and reassuring that this would be a great place for our 88 year old mother. Chris and her team of professionals (including Crystal Askew, Community Relations Director and Stephanie Raburn, Wellness Director) quickly demonstrated a comprehensive knowledge of senior care including detailed aspects of medical care and medical system/insurance protocols. Chris was extraordinary in facilitating actions necessary to completing our transfer from a post-hospital care/therapy facility to Sonata Boynton Beach. The room selection and preparation far exceeded expectation despite the very short time to complete all transfer paperwork and actions. Wayne Groves, Director of Environmental Services is to be commended for his role in helping to get things done! Thus far, all Memory Care Unit personnel have been super friendly and very responsive to accommodating specific needs for our mother who is also recovering from hip surgery. Kudos go to Stephanie Harris, Memory Care Program Director whose high energy and strong leadership helps to deliver expected care and treatment of residents. We have found this to be a warm, inviting and home-like facility with a surprising amount of programs and activities to help keep residents active, involved and stimulated. In a quick time, we are already assured our decision to choose Sonata Boynton Beach was the right one to make! From the Director down, all staff members have shown themselves to be approachable and fast to help answer all questions and to respond to any requests we have made. It is our opinion you won't find a better Assisted Living/Memory Care Facility than Sonata Boynton Beach and that they are more than worthy of a 5-Star rating! V/R Steve S.

Five stars is simply not enough to express my appreciation for the entire staff at Sonata Boynton Beach. I was overwhelmed with the responsibility of caring for my 95 year old Mother at home. The decision to move her into assisted living was the most stressful and challenging task I have faced in life. I contacted several facilities who gave me the standard tour and promotional printed materials. Then I met with Bryce Robinson at Sonata. He immediately became personally invested in the process and guided me through the complex process. He was able to provide me with advice to assist in both the financial process and the emotional process of transitioning my Mother to assisted living. The entire staff provides exceptional care for my Mother. It has been 2 years and although her physical and mental condition continue to deteriorate, the staff continually steps up and continually provides a exceptional level of care. As difficult as it is to see a loved parent struggling with memory loss and physical disabilities, my mind is at ease knowing she is receiving the best possible care on a day to day basis. There is no way to express the appreciation I have for peace of mind i receive knowing my Mother is well cared for.

The administrative staff at Sonata Boynton Beach is exceptional. Bryce, Crystal, Jackie, and Wayne treated us like family, going above and beyond to help my mother and me during a difficult transition. The daily activities, enthusiasm and care of the staff, especially Phedra, Mike, and some exceptional caregivers, have allowed my mother to remain active and involved. The new director, Christine, is a caring and competent addition to the staff. The facility is not huge, is updated and well kept, and has an on site nursing staff, making it a good fit for someone with medical needs. My mother has found a home at this facility, and we are grateful for the special care and open communication. I recommend Sonata Boynton Beach.

An incredible team and led by an amazing Executive Director, Christine Cheeseman. Her commitment to serving, including her expertise of being a nurse of 20+ years is something unique others do not have.

We've been very happy with Sonata Boynton Beach. My dad seems to be enjoying himself there. The care and food are very good. The people are friendly. The place is clean, and they've done everything we asked. So far we haven't had any issues. My father is happy with the food. It's a small community so it's a little more personalized. He's enjoying going to meals and has had no complaints so far. They seem to have activities and entertainment almost every day. They travel to places and they have community meetings, so if there are issues to be addressed, they can be addressed with the director. They've been very responsive with the things that I have asked for as a newcomer, and they've been very responsive. They also have 24-hour visiting times. There are a couple of things I'd like to see, like exhaust fans in the bathroom. I think they're a very good facility. They have been very good in making Dad comfortable and in answering our questions. The staff members always have a smile on their faces and they always say good morning. The place is painted in nice soft colors and they have a really pretty backyard. I like the size of the room and it's perfect for my dad. From everything I've seen, they seem to be one of the better places. I would definitely recommend for people to go there. The activities are very good and appropriate for assisted living. They cater to their clientele. It's also a good value for the money, and it's better than I expected.

We were very well received at Sonata. We got a really good feeling about it. We had the opportunity to speak with one of the residents. Quite frankly, she had a lot of good things to say; that's why we decided to trust our gut and go with it. My father-in-law's room has plenty of natural light, which was nice. It had a private bathroom, and it's more than enough to fill his needs. He's in the memory care. He also has a full-time caregiver that we employ for him. The caregiver takes him out to an eating area outside. They go outside periodically. Just the fact that he can get out and taken outside for a while, and interact with other people, we found that to be very promising. I have nothing bad to say bad about them at this point. It's expensive, no doubt. But compare to some of the other places that we've seen, and the kind of money that they get, I'd say Sonata is a good value. A number of people had been there a number of years. They come from a background of healthcare, especially with the elderly. That in itself, to me, speaks volume about a company or an organization with people who stay there for a long time. Then they must be doing something right.

Brookdale Boynton Beach was newer compared to another facility I visited, and they were doing some redecorating. The hallways were wider, the lighting was better, and the colors inside were better. It was just much more cheerful. I really liked this place, and it would have been my second choice. The gentleman who gave me the tour was very helpful and very nice. This place has a pull cord in the bedroom and bathroom if they need help or assistance.

I had a quick tour at Brookdale Boynton Beach, and it was a little too large. I only saw the independent living, not the memory loss division. They have a lovely dining room, and arts and crafts. We did have a situation where we needed some further legal information, and they were very helpful in giving direction.

My father is in Brookdale Boynton Beach. The rooms are large, very nice, and clean. One of the main reasons why I put my father there is because of the activities, and there are men and women. Some of the activities are bingo and crosswords. It has a nice dining area with well-balanced meals and a good choice of menu. The staff is good. They seem attentive to my father. The place is nice and cheerful, and the people are helpful. I will recommend it.

I was able to visit Homewood at Boynton Beach, and it's an excellent facility. They offered a la carte of services. The buildings were recently renovated, and the grounds were very beautiful. Their rooms were approximately 300 square feet, and they were unfurnished with the option to have the residents own furnishings from home. The staff was pretty knowledgeable and was able to answer most of our questions. They do have activities like games and other social activities as well. Their dining area is very pretty.

Homewood was very, very nice. We were very impressed with it. It was assisted living, and that was the problem. We weren't ready for assisted living, but it was very well run, very pretty. The rooms were great. The dining room seemed to be fine. We wanted independent living. The staff was very nice. We had a lovely young woman. She introduced us to everyone. We met some of the people who lived there. They all seemed very happy.

Mom is in Homewood at Boynton. I feel that she's getting excellent care. They maintain the facility well and the food is okay. The care is very good. However, I feel like the stimulation is not enough. They have a lot of activities like poker and bingo and she didn't like that kind of stuff. They have a television, but for them to be sitting all day watching TV is no fun. Sometimes they didn't even know what they are watching. They need to have more interactive activities for the residents. It is a very small place with a bunch of small buildings for the different levels of care and I thought that is problem because I feel that they are divided. They do things for every building to accommodate people living there and it is horrendous for the program person to do all these. I keep telling them to get voluntaries. So, when it comes to care, they are very high. But when it comes to stimulation, it depends on what building you are into.

The staff is very helpful at Homewood. The way it?s setup was that they had small groups in different buildings, so it was very personalized. It?s a very nice facility.

Mom has been at Homewood at Boynton Beach for 2-1/2 months. The staff are nice and caring. They actually called me one day when I had picked her up and forgot to sign her out. The facility is very clean. One of the things that I have an issue with is they have a line of activities, but they are in all different buildings. They have 6 buildings there. So, if they have a movie or Bingo, it might be at building 3 and mom is at building 2. I don't know what arrangements they make to get her into the other building.
