I have been very impressed with the staff at Grand Villa Altamonte Springs. The moment that I met Rebecca Slough, I knew that I was in the right place. I was in need of finding a place quickly for my mother and Rebecca was very informative, professional, and accommodating. She made me feel like family, and that is the kind of place that I was looking for to place my Mom since she has lived with us for several years in our home. The process of transition went smoothly when also working with Audia. The admission went with ease as Marshall Legard is very professional and provided answers to my questions. I met Sophia as the first Nursing staff member and she was very good with my Mom with the admission and in taking care of her. Every staff member so far that I have spoken to on the Assisted Living side have been very good and caring. Richard with maintenance was very helpful also. It gives me peace of mind to know that I can trust that my Mom Is being taken good care of here. It is also comforting to know that I can reach out to Rebecca if we need anything and that Marshall is very supportive of her Resident/Family requests. Meeting Rebecca and her finding a bed quickly for my Mom provided me with a first impression that ultimately guided me in my decision to select this Senior Living Community for my Mother. Grandvilla is a great place! I have had 2 previous family members as residents there, my mother and aunt. We just moved in my uncle today and are grateful for all they have done for all my family members. The staff are amazing. I got to see several staff members that still work there and my mom was last at Grandvilla 5 years ago. I am happy that we were able to get my uncle in Grandvilla. We loved everything about this place from the facility itself to the staff. I checked quite a few facilities for my mom. This one had the most good energy by far over others. I heard seniors laughing, chatting like they felt at home. Most other facilities had a gloominess. The staff here was very nice, caring and professional and answered all my questions. I haven't put my mom in a facility yet because still in nursing/rehab. This is the one I will want for her.

What a amazing community, both my parents live here for multiple years and loved it. Especially under the leadership or Marshall the whole team has thrived. The nursing team is amazing Lindsey and Willem and their team took such great care of my parents. Every time my wife and I visited my parents were well taken care of especially the beds and rooms were very well maintained. Before covid we had the pleasure of eating with my parents at there wonderful restaurant and hope we can do this soon again, as under the new chef Bas my parents have been so excited to go the restaurant for every meal and we can’t wait to join them. My mom is very happy living at Grand Villa. In the last year, the highlight of her day includes the delicious meals prepared by Chef Bas and his team. The food is absolutely delicious. The servers are all very kind and generous. My mom raves about the dining room manager Miriam and says she makes her smile a lot. Every time I have visited her, the place is very clean, welcoming and they have lots of activities going on. Her room is spacious and she has access to care when needed. The nursing staff with Wilem takes extreme care of my mom and they contact when needed. I feel extremely happy that my mother is well taken care of and enjoying life. I love coming into the building and being greeted by happy people.

My mother has been a resident of Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs for just over 1 month. Although it has been a short time I cannot say enough about this facility. From day one they have been nothing short of stellar. There was an issue with the cable TV line to the bedroom and it was going to take 2 days for the cable company to come out and fix it. The maintenance staff (I wish I could remember the names of the 2 gentlemen that helped us) offered to arrange for a staff member to come to her apartment when she was ready for bed and turn her entertainment unit from the living room so that it could be viewed from her bed. In the morning they would come and turn it back to its normal position. My mother declined the offer, but I thought it was such a nice gesture to help her with having TV in her bedroom for those first 2 days. My mother loves her lemon lime soda. Since the soda we brought was packed away she did not have any on the first day. On the second day to our surprise, someone was nice enough to go out and get a 12 pack of lemon lime soda for her when they found out that she did not have any. My brother and I had to leave a day earlier than planned due to a major storm in the northeast. Unfortunately we left her with a number of boxes that needed to be unpacked and put away. They offered to help her unpack and put away her items. Today we had a scheduled conference call with Nicki, the executive director, about some of my mothers health issues and what we could do to help her continue to transition to life at Grand Villa. To my surprise she arranged to have Marshall, Janet, and Shantel on the call with her. I will be honest, I thought having all of them present was overkill but it ended up proving to be worthwhile. Our discussion went from what would have been a 5-10 minute conversation to a 30 minute in depth discussion about what would be best for my mother, and everything that has been done to help her. If I call or email it is returned in a very timely manner. Although my mother is not their only resident, they make me feel like she is with the great communication and customer service. It was great to hear what wonderful hands she is in. My brother and I live in the northeast, so having her in such a caring facility helps us sleep at night. It is clean and the staff is courteous and helpful as can be. If you are looking for a facility for your parents or even yourself I would highly suggest you take a look at Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs.

Oh my goodness, where do I begin? I have so many positive things to say about Grand Villa. My dad moved into Grand Villa in the spring of 2018, so hes been there just at three years. I think the highest recommendation an assisted living facility can receive is for the family of a resident to say that if they were to need somewhere to stay, that is where they would choose to be. My family would say this about Grand Villa. What really strikes me about Grand Villa is the excellent attitude of everyone encountered there. My father is in central Florida where my sister lives but my mother with Parkinsons is in Miami with me. At one point I explored assisted living facilities in Miami for my mom. I even toured and spent time at one of the fanciest facilities where the former president of the University of Miami resided and many very wealthy people lived. These places didnt come close to Grand Villas warmth and caring attitude toward those who live there. We all want to be treated with caring, dignity and respect. Even more so as we age and are more vulnerable. Grand Villa treats the people who call it home with all three. This is crucial and I urge all of you looking into places for yourself or loved one that you really look at the attitude of staff toward residents. Are they treated with warmth and caring or as a burden? Grand Villa has mastered this and really excels in this most important quality: from the director to the staff throughout the facility to the business office ALL employed by Grand Villa are kind, respectful and a pleasure to interact with. Grand Villa constantly impresses me. I absolutely love the fact that residents can take their beloved pets to live with them. I appreciate how easy they are to work with in arranging transportation for doctors appointments or any other need. I appreciate the first-rate medical care my dad receives. Their staff doctor is excellent. Shantel is amazing and knows all the details about each residents health and how they are doing.This efficiency and detail-oriented care is also reflected in the maintenance of medical records, coordination of care, etc. When there was a health issue with my dad the director, Shantal, had the medical records to me within minutes, is always easily accessible by phone, and eager and happy to speak to families about what is happening with their loved ones health issues. She keeps in touch with family members and knows what is going on with each resident. She is very efficient and organized. My father needed to see a hematologist and Shantal was able to refer me to one and gave me the phone number to set up the appointment. She faxed all medical records to his office immediately and I didnt even have to provide the fax number! During that same conversation she put him on the transportation list for transport to the appointment, to meet a family member there. Grand Villa is an amazing resource that makes ensuring a loved one is getting the best medical care seamless and stress-free. Even the business office is a pleasure to deal with. My father has had some issues and Janet from Grand Villas business office has been a godsend. Janet has been simply incredible. No one would have been as kind, patient, and compassionate as Janet in this situation. She has done her best to help us sort this out, spending lots of time working hard on this situation, even though the situation was not created by Grand Villa but by a lapse in coverage. Every time I called she was available. She was efficient and well aware of all details and worked hard to attempt various solutions. Janet is the best and Grand Villa is lucky to have her. I cannot recommend Grand Villa enough. Grand Villa has nice surroundings, with a tranquil pool area and pleasant dining area and lounge areas, VERY clean and well-cared for but what sets it apart is how people are treated- how well its run- how residents who run into health issues are cared for. Thats what matters and thats where Grand Villa excels.

This post is as much a review of Grand Villa in Altamonte Springs Florida, as it is a message to other families suddenly facing accommodation needs for a loved one. After my mom suffered several strokes, she required a place in between the hospital and home. We found ourselves in crisis-mode and really didnt know where to begin. A friend of the family recommended Grand Villa and said that they are well-versed in handling such situations. She could not have been more correct. Jennifer and her talented team at Grand Villa went beyond the call of duty to ensure that our mom was treated well from start to finish. My mom was there for about two weeks, as a ‘respite-care tenant, but was treated every bit as well as the long-term residents; some of whom have been there for years. Our family was pleasantly-surprised with the loving attention that our mom received. We would recommend Grand Villa to anyone that finds themselves in the situation that we did. Our parents have eight kids living in eight states, and they lived in their condo of seventeen years in Altamonte Springs Florida; more than 1000 miles from the nearest family member. When the call came in about our moms strokes, several siblings and I had to drop everything and converge in Florida. And then try to figure out what to do. And we knew that such a call would come in one day. Id recommend that anyone with aging parents set out to shop for assisted-living-respite care facilities sooner, rather than later. There is quite a bit of due-diligence involved, as we soon found out. Best to hold a family meeting well in advance of getting ‘the call; to know how to divide and conquer all of the details. If your family is like ours, some members will be better-suited for dealing with the legal papers and finances, and others will be better-suited for the heavy-lifting, moving and errand-running. Other family members will go into denial and simply watch from a distance. So my recommendations to other families are as follows: -Have copies of required information readily-available. This includes a photocopy of the loved ones drivers license-state ID, Medicare card, date of birth, insurance information, list of medicines that they are taking, name and number for their physician(s). - Arrange helpers, as you will likely need them. Identify family members and friends that you can count on in the event of ‘crisis-mode arriving. - Create a ‘single-point-of-contact in your group to handle the multitude of calls and emails that you will get from people wondering how your loved one is doing following an event. - Create a weekly update and have your contact-person put the word out. This will prevent a lot of phone traffic, at a time where this is not wanted-needed. Simply redirect the well-wishers to the contact-point-person. - Encourage your aging loved ones to reduce and organize their possessions while they still can.
