My mother moved into Brookdale, West Hartford, Ct around 5 years. During those years the staff & aides have been wonderful. The atmosphere at Brookdale is lovely. They really work hard to engage their residents through music events, cocktails hours & special occasions. They really stepped up as my Mom started to decline. I would highly recommend a tour if you are considering this option for your family member.

Brookdale’s new managment team is great. They have been very kind, patient and proactive with my mom. I would recommend their care to other families and their loved ones.

Do not send your love ones to this facility, especially memory care. My son in law was there and the staff is not properly trained for dementia patients. When you needed help, you were told everyone is busy and had to wait sometimes a half hour to an hour. Never enough staff. Night and day staff never communicated. If there was a problem with a patient no one claimed to know anything that happened. Patients were sent to the hospital when it was not always necessary, causing family to pay many unnecessary medical bills. When insurance stopped paying for certain medication, family was not notified in a timely manner.. Total lack of communication. This is a high price facility and not worth it.

Brookdale has been an excellent choice for our parents. The care, the programs that are offered, the staff, the cleanliness of the facility, the food, the way they accommodate concerns and communicate to the family, it's all exceptional. We are a very grateful for the care our parents have received at Brookdale West Hartford and I feel it starts right from the top - the Executive Director, Ryan, he has always been there for our family.

In our initial meeting with Bookdale the appearance of being very accommodating is their upfront face. However, hidden expenses were not shared with families' members. The family was blindsided with these expenses wherein forced the family to pay what was not planned for.

When faced with the hard decision of finding care for elderly family I would highly recommend Brookdale of West Hartford. During the height of the pandemic the staff fought the virus and kept our family safe with low infection numbers within the building!! The management team and staff truly care about the residents and are constantly exceeding our expectations. Have been amazed how management has been available to address any concerns we have had 24 hrs a day by phone or in person if required. In our experience the staff truly is concerned and cares about our family. Even maintenance staff has been capable and patient with our family.
