Suffield by the River has been such a wonderful community for my family member - there are enriching activities, wonderful food, genuinely caring and friendly staff! Everyone knows who my family member is, keep us updated on what's happening, and are always finding ways to keep him engaged, well, and included. They have worked so closely with us to maximize his quality of life in the face of Alzheimer's, and he's doing better there than he had in years. Thank you!

Our experience with Suffield by the River has been excellent. On our first visit with my mom, Valerie and the entire staff made us feel so welcome. We visited other senior communities and they did not have the same welcoming feel. This is where we moved my mom in March and she has been very happy there. Throughout the process, Valerie was attentive and accommodating. We highly recommend Suffield by the River for a senior living community.

I have the privilege of providing musical entertainment at many fine retirement communities. It is a special joy to come to Suffield By The River to perform on keyboard along with great vocalists such as Ethel Lee, Peter Annone or Joe Saimeri. Driving in and enjoying the beautifully manicured grounds, great Connecticut River views, and spotless, inviting facilities makes this a joy. What I sense the most is a very happy, motivated group of staff and residents that are really enjoying life to its' fullest. Everyone makes us feel welcome and part of the family. My dad passed away a year ago and my mom could not live alone in Florida so we were fortunate to find an apartment for her at Suffield by the River. She is safe there and her apartment is comfortable with everything she needs. My mom takes advantage of many of the activities and especially likes the exercise classes and is doing great. Special thanks to the caring staff there and Valerie for really making things work for us when we moved mom from Florida.

We were saddened when our family member was diagnosed with dementia and needed more specialized care than we could give her at home. The staff at Suffield by the River and Reflections memory care made the transition much easier for us. From the friendly front desk staff to the skilled health care staff we have been very happy with the care and attention she has received. Their administrators are always available to answer questions and respond quickly. The food is excellent and all activities are geared to help those who need memory care. We can rest easy knowing she is getting the best care.

My mother has been at Suffield by the River for 2 years now. One year in an assisted living apartment and now one year in Reflections memory care. She made the transition with no problems. The staff is so very helpful and caring. Tanya the Reflection director is beyond knowledgeable and helpful to your needs or resident. The facility itself is beautiful, it's in a quiet area. My mom has many CNA'S that look after her. I applaud them all for their dedication and hard work. Take a tour, see for yourself how nice the Reflections Community is.

My father has spent the last 4 months in the memory care unit, Reflections, at Suffield by the River and I couldn't be happier with the care he has received. He has advanced dementia and was quite difficult, but I was always amazed by how effectively the staff redirected and distracted him when he would act out. He was unhappy when he first arrived, but once he settled in, it was clear he was happy here. He would follow the staff around and want to socialize with them and keep them from working. They would just smile and interact with him, and eventually try to lead him back to group activities, often unsuccessfully. I was told many times, by many different staff members, how much they loved my dad. It gave me considerable peace knowing he was cared for by people who truly cared for him. I can't recommend Suffield by the River Reflections unit more strongly.

I had the most wonderful visit at Suffield by the River. All of the associates were very nice. The lunch was wonderful. As soon as you walked in it felt like home. When I am ready for my next steps, this is the place I am going. Would highly recommend visiting even if your not ready for your next steps.

The meals are far better than we expected, and the level of attention given to my great-aunt is second to none. My father has been a resident of Suffield by the River for 6 years. We found the transition to LCB to be smooth, informative and incredibly resident and family focused. Christie and all of the staff led us through the pandemic with great care and protection of the residents. Most importantly, the staff has always been available for impromptu family meetings to discuss my fathers care. We are always greeted with smiles and warm welcome on each visit. It’s evident that all the employees at Suffield by the River demonstrate a willingness to truly care for the residents well being.

The absolute best assisted living facility in Northern Connecticut. The residents get excellent care, the meals are top notch offering meals from 7am-7pm, and the staff get 10 stars. As far as assisted living places go Suffield by the river is a nice place. My grandparents who lived their whole married lives in Suffield were fortunate to be able to spend their final years together in town amongst other townspeople that they knew. My other grandmother was also transferred there eventually as well. Our family had no big complaints in regards to this facility that Im aware of, hopefully theyre still doing the right thing, my last grandparent passed away twenty years ago back in 2000.

So grandma (winoah michaud ) & grandpa (joel michaud) lived here. what a beautiful place . GRandma passed on february 14 2002 and they treated her so amazing the staff knew us when we came in and treated her so well. I thank you for that. Re ntly this past sunday February 16 we lost Grandpa , now they are both dancing in heaven together. I tell you the pain of lsong them both stings my heart so much.I take one day at a time but I would love to Thank you guys for all you have done for them both. EVerytime I walked through the door everyone said hi Jamie even the residents. EVeryone had so much joy and treated grandma and grandpa with so much love and care. Thank you all so much through our difficult time. I will truly never forget anyone. Love to you all. I GOdbless each and everyone of you.

My dad was supposed to be here for a short stay to rehab after an accident. By day two, he was so thrilled with the place that he decided to make it his permanent home! The staff here is the absolute best. They truly listen to every question and have a solution for every hurdle. My dad loves the dining options (all meals included). My only complaint is that they have so many activities that my father doesnt have any free time for family to visit him. LOLI highly recommend Suffield by the River!!!

My mom, MIckey Jorgensen, has lived at SBTR since November, 2014. Everyone in Grand Vista treated her wonderfully, especially June! She has now been at Rivers Watch for over a year and my brothers and I are so happy with her care! Andrea, RN and all the aides love all the residents and it shows! I have been a volunteer at Suffield by the River for going on 5 years now. Once a month, on a Friday evening, I go and call BINGO for a group of 20-30 residents and guests. I have noticed how well the residents are cared for and their lives enriched by the many programs Suffield by the River offers. Liz Sansom, Recreation Director, does a fabulous job of making every single person feel special.

My parents moved in to Suffield by the River about 2+ months ago and they could not be happier! They love their 2 bedroom apartment! We still have the rest of the heavy, bulky furniture to move in, then it truly will feel like home sweet home! They love their deck where they can sit on their glider and take in the picturesque view of the Ct river! They enjoy the many wonderful and varied food choices for breakfast and dinner! The entire facility is so beautiful and so well maintained! We are so excited to see how quickly mom and dad are settling in to this fabulous environment and starting to participate in the many varied activities and parties available! The owner Celia goes above and beyond to make all feel welcomed and an important part of this community at Suffield by the River. She really shows how much she cares and the families also see and feel that. The nurses, maintenance, housekeeping, dining servers, front desk and activity coordinators all reflect Celias commitment and dedication to all the residents. This is an excellent and outstanding community for anyone considering assisted living!

My Dad lives there. The staff is absolutely amazing to him considering he can be cranky at times. My Mom lived there too before she passed in March and the nurses and CNAS were phenomenal with her. Love all of them.
