A very comfy, homelike atmosphere abounds where the staff knows everyone by first name. Aides and nurses are attentive and listen to both residents and family members. The social programs are engaging and entertaining. The food is outstanding. Management is responsive to both patient and family requests and needs. Loved ones are taken care of like family. An excellent assisted living facility. Highly recommend

Benchmark at Split Rock as been the right choice for our family. My husband is in the Memory Care unit, and I feel he is supported in each aspect of his needs. There are daily activities. He's on a special diet and he's been healthier since they started him on it. There are weekly music programs which all the residents and families can enjoy. The staff truly puts the residents and families first. We made the right decision for our family and do feel blessed.

Every staff member sets the high standard of executing their job. If all workers in all walks of life performed their jobs with the dedication Split Rock employees show dissatisfaction would be a rare occurrence. The staff always knows my mother's location in and around the facility.

My siblings and I had to find an assisted living facility for my mom on rather short notice. Her days at the rehab center were dwindling and we knew should could no longer live alone. We reached out to quite a few facilities, but from day one Benchmark at Split Rock stood out more than any other. We visited quite a few, but after touring Split Rock, we knew this was the place for mom! The warmth, the caring, the genuine concern is obvious!! Mom has been there for a little more than a year and I feel like I have an extended family. The workers make mom feel special. They notify us of everything going on. With COVID and the pandemic, I couldnt be happier that she is safe, being fed, and taken care of by an outstanding staff. Every one Ive dealt with has taken a very personal approach and Ive become attached to so many people there. Both residents and workers are so sweet. This was, by far, the best decision we have made for mom. Seeing Mom happy, is all we need. We couldnt be happier.

When looking for an assisted living for our dad it was important to us that we find the right fit. He was widowed for nearly two years and was starting to need more support than we were able to provide. The decision was not an easy one and we toured numerous communities. We immediately felt at home at Benchmark. The staff were welcoming and kind and the lunch we shared with him was delicious. Our dad made friends and participated in many activities. He invited friends to come and visit in his new home. We were all delighted with our decision.We had no idea what March 2020 would bring so we were grateful that Benchmark communicated the health requirements required for Covid 19. We were blessed that they kept the residents safe and healthy. They followed safety protocols and were always available for a call or email with questions or concerns. Highly recommend Benchmark at Split Rock.

We were looking for a safe, secure, clean, and loving assisted living facility for our dear 90 year old mom; but did so with some skepticism. However, we could not have asked for more. It has been a blessing to have mom transition there 4 months ago. She loves her large studio apartment, and we were surprised at how quickly she started to feel at home. I cannot say enough about the very caring, considerate, and committed staff serving at Benchmark Senior Living at Split Rock. The staff is always caring and attentive to mom's needs, which includes reminders at times for meals and activities. They each do an exceptional job each and every day, and we are most grateful.

We love the care that our dear family member receives at Benchmark in Shelton, CT. My aunt hadn't been so happy in the last ten years after being widowed, but ever since moving in she is doing so well! I have my aunt back, and my mother has her sister back. She loves the recreational activities that they plan for the residents there several times weekly. specifically she loves to play bingo with the young man who coordinates the activities for the residents on Thursday nights. I also had the pleasure of dining with my mother and aunt at Benchmark on a few separate occasions one time even including an outdoorsy picnic-style lunch/dinner. The food is quite good...my aunt enjoys it (there are always so many options, as well as a nightly changing main course entree dinner) and actually I recall having a stuffed filet of sole for dinner that I was blown away by how delicious it was, that I asked if I could have the recipe! They actually had the chef who cooked the meal - a nice young lady- come and tell me her recipe for the delicious stuffing! How nice of them! What a lovely young lady she was for that (and I still use the stuffing recipe!). Talk about going the extra mile. What a great staff they have there for always accomodating us, and making us feel welcome and right at home. The staff generally was quite friendly and place was always kept very nice and clean. (very important to us!) My aunt's apartment is the perfect size for her and is very comfortable. I highly recommend Benchmark at Splitrock to any family who wants to have their elder family members live somewhere where they just need a little bit of help and structure to keep them busy.My dear aunt has flourished since moving in there - I think it was the best move we could have made and I'm so glad we chose this place.

If you have a loved one that requires assistance whether they be memory impaired or not this is the place you want to move them to. They cared for my grandmother as if she was one of their own flesh and blood and I know that she appreciated ever single employee that ever came to her aid while she was under their wonderful care. I can not express enough how grateful I am to the staff at Split Rock for taking the best care of my Nanny and making her last year with us one filled with wonderful memories. Thank you all so very much and you will always be a part of our family now 🙂

Absolutely fantastic! Not only did they console and talk to me about my grandmother's difficult transition,,some of the staff actually came to her house and helped me move her! They always greet me by name and update me with her success and/or what we can do to make something better for her. The staff is so welcoming and works hard to get my grandma involved and to make her happy. My grandmother suffers from Alzheimer's and dementia and was going downhill very fast while she was at home. This month will be one year since we moved her to Benchmark and she is like a whole new woman; and I think her disease is slowing down! I have seen vast improvements in her memory and appearance. She is generally happier. The other great factor, besides an always friendly staff, is the building itself. IT IS IMMACULATE!!!!! Clean and beautiful is an understatement. You will not ever spell or see anything disgusting here. They take pride in not being a nursing home; Benchmark is really an elderly community, and it shows!
