My aunt recently moved to this wonderful place a few months back. Being a nurse who works in a long term facility, I'm pleased to say that she's getting thee best care out there. Every time I speak with her she says that everyone's so nice. Whenever I visit I see a clean, beautiful place. Her apartment is so warm and cozy. All her fears of going from her own place to living at a facility have melted away. Her needs, physical and emotional, are of top most priority when caring for her. I feel good that she's so loved and well taken care of. This place isn't just a senior facility, it's her home. I highly recommend this place to anyone who's considering having their loved one move to a safe, responsible environment.

The Benchmark Senior Living at Ridgefield Crossings is an outstanding facility. We recently moved my mother into this facility, and I cannot say enough good things about it. The staff is amazing. They have bent over backwards to make my mother feel at home and welcomed. Someone visits throughout the day, whether it is an aid, the Physical Therapist, one of the nurses, the Care Director - it's amazing. She is more social now than she was 10 years ago when she would go play mah jong with her group of friends and go out to dinner or lunch with them. Sometimes she is so busy, she has to call me back - too busy to talk to me! I love that! She has made friends with her dining group (same group for breakfast, lunch and dinner) and they are lovely, caring people (I've met them - truly a great match for my mother to dine with). The thing is, there is a lot of thought put into the care of the individual and who they are and how to make them feel like this is their home (which it is) and happy to be there. They choose dining partners they feel will mesh with my mother's personality and interests (she's taken up beading with one of the women she dines with!). They choose various aids who they also feel will complement my mother's needs and be the kind of aid she will accept and look forward to seeing. The nurses have been fantastic, and call me if there's an issue or they feel I need to know something, which is great. Everyone is SO friendly there - from the people who live there (such a great group) to the staff - I mean, seriously, it's wonderful. My mother has attended exercise classes (I think she's going to Tai chi today), concerts, lectures, watched documentary films, attended Shabbat services - the list goes on! I can't tell you how happy my family and I are knowing that she is socializing every single day, someone is there within 5 minutes if she needs something, and she's just a much happier person than she was 3 months ago! It's been a great transition, and again, the team there puts an enormous amount of thought into what will make my mother happy and then makes it happen. I live two hours away, so knowing that someone is there if something untoward happens (like the fall she took the other day), makes a huge difference not only in our lives, but in my mother's life. She's secure, safe and taken care of. I'd encourage anyone to check out the facility and take a tour with Sarah Bilik (also, truly an outstanding individual!! She keeps in touch with me regarding my mom's care, etc. and puts my mind at ease). Speak to people there while you take the tour. It's not fake - the people there really are friendly and happy to be there for a good reason!

Benchmark Senior Living at Ridgefield Crossing has been a true blessing for our family. From the initial phone inquiry to moving in day, Sara B. , the director, has been nothing but truly remarkable! She answered questions with honesty, was attentive to every detail, gave support and showed compassion. She sought out amazing staff to provide service and care. Justin, from plant ops, went out of his way to help make our Mom's apartment into a true home. He was patient, kind and friendly as he hung pictures ( and there were many!), large mirrors, and drapery. He made sure the cable wire was the exact length. He went above and beyond to be sure everything was exactly as our Mom had wanted. Tracy, Trisha & Denise, the welcoming receptionists, know all the residents by name and always seem to be aware of everyone's whereabouts. Trisha has spent countless hours introducing our Mom to "online shopping" and helping her to get the decorative items she wanted for her new home. Bindu and Tanja, residents aides, consistently bring positive energy to each day. Simone, worked hard problem solving a tv issue so that our Mom would be comfortable her first night. Destina, Frank, Monique, Gregoria and Wendy have been instrumental in helping our Mom to adjust to new routines. On a recent visit, our Mom reported that her visiting friends all said to her, "this was a very nice place", but then added"but that doesn't really matter - I LOVE it here!"

Benchmark is a warm caring facility that is kept immaculately clean. My 99 year old dad is extremely well cared for and is treated kindly. His needs have been assessed thoroughly and are carefully monitored. The staff helped celebrate his birthday and he thanked everyone for being g so “nice”. Special shout outs to Brianny Dolores Lisa and of course Sarah B!

How do we start to say how awesome Ridgefield Crossing is?!?! From the very first inquiry call, to the tour, to moving in, and the continued daily care and concern the entire staff has for our Mom; whom was a bit resistant and fearful in the beginning. But with the support of the amazing staff, and a big shout out to Sara B, the whole process was painless for us all!! We are thrilled beyond our expectations to hear our Mom express how is enjoying her new home at Ridgefield Crossings, she can't say enough of the good food, the lectures, the concerts, the movies, the new friends she is making and the warm and caring staff. Thank you Ridgefield Crossing!

My parents moved into Ridgefield Crossing in the beginning of January. My dad is on the assisted living side. My mom is in memory care. The director, Sara Bilik, met with me and my family several times before we made our decision to move my parents. She followed up with phone calls and emails and was always willing to address any questions we had. Since my parents have moved in, Sara has continued to call, send pictures and videos of my mom and be a constant resource. Since my dad moved in, the directors Nell and Kerry have gone out of their way to get him involved and make sure he has had rides to the pool he attends. He was even recently appointed president of the council. He enjoys the meals and his dining companions. He is already making friends and reports that everyone is warm, friendly and attentive. When I enter, the receptionists always greet me warmly and know what is happening with my parents. The nurses, Nina and Tammy, have also been amazing. They are friendly and knowledgeable. A special shout out to Marta, an aide in the memory care unit, who takes such good care of my mom and to Justin who helped move my dad and is always taking the time to help out and say, “Hello”. I spent two years researching and visiting assisted living facilities to make the best choice. I feel confident that Ridgefield Crossing is the best place for my parents. My mom is getting the care she needs and my dad is able to enjoy this chapter of his life.

The caregivers are on the ball and make my mother-in-law feel at home and safe. The cleanliness here sets Benchmark apart from all other assisted care facilities we have visited. Meals are served as if residents were eating out at a fine restaurant.

My moms been at Ridgefield Harbor for 4 months and she couldnt be happier: the staff are incredibly caring and attentive - they engage her in activities throughout the day every day, and give her a regular dose of warm hugs that make her feel valued and loved. The events for family are wonderful too - they give us a chance to get to know the staff and moms friends, as well as meet other families whose parents are in a similar stage. Its a truly remarkable place; cannot recommend it more highly!

Deciding on an assisted living facility for your parents is a huge undertaking and one that you want to get right the first time. My siblings and I found ourselves in that position a little over a year ago when moving our parents from Florida after 35 years back to the Northeast. We did a lot of research and visited places in New York, Pennsylvania and Connecticut ..... at the end of the day we kept coming back to Ridgefield Crossings. The quality of the management team, the quality of care from the associates, the cleanliness-attractiveness of the facility, variety of activities and programs and the caring, up beat attitude of everyone who works there are just a few of the reasons we chose Ridgefield Crossings. As we continue to deal with the pandemic the health and safety protocols that have been put in place have given us peace of mind. We feel that it is a safe environment and that the team is up-to-date not only on the state of CT posture but also best practices in congregate living situations. On-going communications from the leadership team provide timely updates about practices at the facility and zoom calls allow for family members to ask questions. In addition the management team starting at the top with Bill Crawford always make themselves available at any time for a one on one discussion or meeting. Net is I can not say enough positive things about the team at Ridgefield Crossings. They truly embody the notion that Ridgefield Crossings is your parents home and always welcome you to be part of everything that goes on there.

Our Mother has been a resident of Ridgefield Crossings for eight months. Despite the natural hesitancy and difficult decision to leave her home of 65 years and our initial worries it has turned out to be a wonderful new home for her. Much to the relief of our family, she quickly adapted to her new environment and is very happy with her secure, safe, cared for life. Most important, management and staff support in all areas have been kind, caring, compassionate, attentive and quick to anticipate and assist in our Mothers needs. The leadership team has been accessible, willing to listen, help with concerns and is genuine in their approach. They have communicated well and have recently initiated monthly Town Hall Virtual Meetings for residents families. The facility is impeccably clean, attractive, well laid out, easy to navigate. Our Mothers apartment is spacious yet cozy and comfortable. The Dining Room is also appealing, decorated for special occasions and serves nutritious and tasty food. The option to dine in room is also provided. A variety of rooms designated for activities and special needs include; Recreation, Exercise, Library, Beauty Parlor, Beverage - Coffee Counter, etc. An outside porch for sitting and outdoor courtyard provide for relaxation and special events. The Community offers a Monthly Calendar full of a wide variety of multiple activities, events from entertainment, to games to exercise each day for residents to experience Our family is comforted by the fact that our Mother is happy, well cared for, safe and fond of the devoted people who care for her on a daily basis

My parents have lived at Ridgefield Crossings for 3.5 years, although they reside in separate units due to my moms advanced dementia. Over the years, we have had many positive interactions with personnel from all areas, including housekeeping, resident care aids, nursing, maintenance, dining, activities, administration, and management. They are all true professionals who are there to make the lives of their residents (and ultimately their family members) easier. My dad recently began his own care plan and was reluctant to accept help. Fortunately, the aids have been both professional and discreet in helping him out, which has made him very comfortable. My mom needs a lot of assistance, and the aids are always there to lend a hand. When reviewing my moms care plan recently, the nursing director said it best...We know your mom, and she knows us. Its comforting to know my parents are not only well cared for but that the community embraces them and truly enjoys interacting with them.

My mother has been a resident at Ridgefield Crossings for five years. Just recently, we had to move her to Harbor, the memory care unit. We were very hesitant but the staff was incredibly supportive saying it was the right thing for her. We were absolutely amazed how well the transition went. They moved her furniture, along with her belongings and got her new room all set up while one of the staff occupied her for the day. The room looked fabulous! The director of the unit is wonderful, and the activities person is just amazing. My mother is now busy each day with activities that stimulate her brain and make her happy -- singing, play (theatre) readings, musical trivia, exercise, daily walks, crafts, as well as other things. The staff are so incredibly caring and supportive. They call you if they have any concerns, theyre quick to answer questions and they honestly want the best for Mom. What could be better than that?! So happy we made the transition. Thank you Ridgefield Crossings!

Ridgefield Crossings is a beautiful assisted living facility with many wonderful amenities. The entire staff is professional, fully committed and friendly to all residents, and they are very responsive to the needs of our mother. There are strong health and safety protocols in place during the pandemic. We feel our mother is very safe there which gives us great peace of mind. Our mothers transition was handled very well. She loves her resident care associates (RCAs), the delicious gourmet food, the hair salon, and the social activities. Ridgefield Crossings fosters a very friendly environment enabling our mother to make new friends. The nurses and resident care associates provide genuine care, concern and compassion for the residents. Our family is very happy that we made the right decision for our mother to become a member of the Ridgefield Crossings family. We know she will always be well taken care of during this latter part of her life.

My mom was a resident for approximately eight years at Ridgefield Crossings in Connecticut. From the first moment my husband and I walked into the facility, we felt very much at home and very welcomed. We had decided to tour the facility while mom was still in rehab to determine if we thought it might be a good fit for her. It was a spur of the moment visit with only a brief call ahead to inquire about the facility. We were eager to learn more about what RC could offer mom during this difficult transition period that so many families face when their loved ones are no longer strong enough to be completely independent. We were greeted by a lovely receptionist who made us feel right at home immediately. We then met with the Director of Community Relations who spent quite a lot of time learning about my mom, as well as our needs for her. We wanted moms new home to be an active community where she could continue, once well, with her very busy life style which included, most importantly, playing bridge. At 93, she was still going strong. She found much more than a bridge game at the Crossings. Mom would come to love her tables breakfast club gatherings where she found special friends that she would cherish in the years to come. She became active in the book club and eventually co-chaired the meetings with her very best friend from the breakfast club. She joined the Resident Council and enjoyed games of bingo and sometimes mahjong. There were movies, social hours, crafts and rides around Ridgefield. The socials and music events were among her favorite things to attend. There were also special fun nights held during the year such as New Years Eve, St. Patricks Day and the spectacular Annual Family Night. Her caregivers there became more than that - they became her extended family - many remaining at the Crossings during her entire stay. Whether they were attending to medical and personal needs, bringing her to mass on Sunday, making sure she didnt miss an ice cream social or settling her down for the night, they were always there for her. Unfortunately, mom didnt have much of an appetite in the later years. Despite the well planned variety of great meals, the entire management and dining staff knew mom only wanted her favorite foods. She often ate from the staple menu rather than the daily specials. The staff could usually be observed encouraging her to just eat a little more before dessert came. I visited almost daily at lunchtime and was always welcomed. I was also impressed by the menu offered. On occasion when I did eat with her, I can honestly say the fare tasted as good as it looked. I know we made the right decision in picking Ridgefield Crossings for mom. It was much more than a place to stay. It was a home surrounded by people who loved her. Many thanks to all who made that possible.

I was a short term resident here for just under four months last year. The resident care associates (RCAs) essentially run the show with the exception of the nursing staff which could be beefed up a bit. And when I say that the RCAs run the show, wow, do they show a great deal of genuine concern and affection for the residents here! The nurses are, unfortunately, a little understaffed and they seem to be rushed a good deal of the time. Some management team members are very graceful while others might not be so well suited for the job. The food is sometimes good and sometimes not so good. Overall, however, I have a favorable impression of this facility.

I would like to emphasize the wonderful personnel that supported my Mother and our Family during her stay. From the onset of reviewing a facility, the Admission Staff was informative, extremely knowledgeable of what was to come, and set a plan that became flexible moving from Assisted Living to Dementia Care. The Staff gave the care, patience, and emotional support to my Mother, along with Us, that would be expected from a true family environment. The Facility was exceptionally maintained, and any request was supported and executed. The Food and Service was that of a restaurant format, down to private in room service. As in our case, the staff observed her difficulty eating solid food, called in a specialist to review and tailored the food processing to her needs. I cannot say enough for what Great People and Great Leadership did to make an extremely difficult time in my Mothers final years – Dignity and a feeling of Love. At the time of our loss, William Crawford and his Staff supported our family as they did from the first day I met them…. 5 STARS John DiMassimo

They take care of the residents as if they are thier own family members. They are so compassionate and helpful, and most importantly attentive. They will call you if they observe the slightest changes (both physical or mental) If you have a request they do what they can to make it happen. You will not find a more knowlegable trained and loving staff in the region, especially during this Covid pandemic.

Though pricey, care if excellent Hello Mr.Crawford, I like to start off by saying that there are no words that express how fortunate we are that you have an incredible staff, who selflessly sacrificed their own health and well being for the care of others. this act is tuely Gods grace worrking, and a rareity in many people these days, they all need to be admired and praised. The people and the facilities at Benchmarks memory care home in Ridgefield, CT have risen above every expectation my family has had since the day my mother arrived. Their respect for my mothers dignity, their joy in meeting her changing needs, their patience and guidance in walking with us through her challenges, have given us comfort from day one. From the thoughtful design of their rectangular facility to the adaptive care their staff provide, I could not recommend Ridgefield Crossings more sincerely. My mother would agree that she is fussy. She likes things just so. The people at Ridgefield Crossings have adapted to my mothers needs and desires every step of the way, keeping me and my siblings informed and involved. My father went from fully functional to severe dementia in just 3 years, and he moved into Benchmark assisted living (and then into Harbor memory care) as a result. All I can say is 1) these people are saints, 2) they are professional and well trained/qualified, and 3) they really care. Everything they do is with the utmost care and consideration. They have a laser focus on patient care and custom service. The facility is clean, well kept and well staffed. Plenty of communication from them on your loved one, and the staff have an array of credentials and an average tenure of 15 years, that's how much they like working there. Benchmark has helped significantly as my father has declined. They're professionals and have provided great guidance and help along this journey. I feel like I have a partner in this process. I considered many places in terms of care, qualifications and cost and ended up choosing Benchmark. It's a big decision and you need to visit many places, but without sounding too cliche these folks really care.
