I recently had the opportunity to work with Tracy Keating at Commonwealth Senior Living in Haddam. Tracy was welcoming, patient, kind and willing to answer all of our questions in detail. She took the time to walk my family through the facility, explain the services offered, and discuss pricing in a clear and transparent way. She encouraged us to take our time to consider what would be best for my mom. Tracy was compassionate and understood how emotional this process can be for families. She connected on a personal level, especially with my dad, which helped ease some of the stress that comes with making such an important decision. I would highly recommend working with Tracy if you are exploring independent living options. She provided helpful guidance and demonstrated genuine care for both residents and their families.

We moved my mom into CSL last August. The process from start to finish was flawless. My first contact was Hailey Daigle and she was extremely helpful in getting our application approved. She thoroughly explained everything CSL offered for my mother’s care. Tracey Langella the medical director, did a wonderful job in evaluating my mother’s mental and physical condition so she could get off to a good start. Everyone from the executive director to the maintenance team have been very welcoming especially the receptionists Robin, Megara and Carol who always take care of any questions I have.

My mom and I worked with Haley Daigle on her move into Commonwealth. She was so compassionate and understanding... and fun! Haley made us feel comfortable and confident, every step of the way. Introducing us to everyone, coming for visits and answering all our questions. My mom's been there a few months and so far, very good!

My 98 year old mother recently moved into Haddam from another facility. We, the family, are very pleased with the entire situation. Friendly staff that address her by name, and show respect to all of us who visit. She has activities she looks forward to participating in. The Family dinners are special. Thanks to Barry and Shivon ,who assist mom. Also shout out to Hayley and Tracey.

I worked with Tracy Keating to move my mother-in-law to Commonwealth Senior Living in Haddam. The process to move a 90 year old from VA to CT is very complex and Tracy helped our family navigate all of the details with professionalism, expertise, and compassion. She was always available to answer our questions and built our confidence that this was a great home for our mom. She went above and beyond to find solutions to our changing needs as we were planning the move. Our experience was just outstanding. Tracy’s caring approach was amazing. Commonwealth is very fortunate to have Tracy representing them to prospective residents.

When it was time for my Mom to transition out of independent living, we had a very tight schedule and needed to make a decision within 3 weeks. We researched all of the Communities within a 30-mile radius that had both assisted living and memory care options. We spoke to friends who had been thru the same journey and read countless reviews. We built a matrix of all of the cost profiles, services offered and other key metrics. We visited what we felt were the top 5. We toured the Communities and met with their staff. We scheduled a second visit to the top 2. We ultimately selected Commonwealth Senior Living in Haddam Connecticut. The Community and amenities were like going to a hotel. There were multiple room layout options that were available in both assisted living and memory care. The staff seemed like they cared and the Management Team was fully engaged. They sent a Nurse to evaluate my Mom while she was in rehab. They confirmed that she needed to be in the memory care section of the Community. They had an informed view on what services she needed day 1 and how they would address them. We also discussed how the services could evolve as she aged. We quickly moved to the commercial aspects of the transition. The CSL Management Team made the process as painless as possible. They explained all of the T+C’s in simple terms. They were upfront about the financial implications of additional services should they be required. We discussed options for my Mom’s Doctors, Dentist, etc. We ultimately switched my Mom’s primary care Doctor to one that was associated with the Community. This turned out to be an excellent choice as the Doctors came to her. My Mom spent 2.5 years at CSL before she passed. My Wife and I could not be happier about the care and attention she received. We developed a very constructive relationship with the CSL Staff and Management Team. They did a great job communicating with us in person and via email, phone, etc. They would let us know if Mom needed something (clothing, etc). They would keep us abreast of how she was integrating / interacting with the other residents. They would always let us know if something was off ie: a medical condition was brewing. Looking back, we are confident that we made the right choice for both Mom and us. I would strongly encourage anyone that is going thru this type of transition to visit CSL.

My mother has been living at The Saybrook for over three years. Moving from a house to an apartment was a big adjustment. She's happy with her living space and very grateful for the welcoming, supportive community at The Saybrook. The staff has been terrific “ can't praise them highly enough for how they've handled everything during the COVID-19 pandemic.

My 103 year old mother has been here since spring 2019 (with a summer off in Nantucket). We have been very impressed with the personalized service from all the staff, including professional care from the nurses. My mother had to recover from a fall and staff worked closely with my family to make sure that my mother got the care she needed to recover as much of her activities as possible in a safe and appropriate manner. The facility seems more like a Marriott than an assisted living facility. The food is surprisingly good, including wine at dinner. There are smaller private dining areas for family events, which we have used for than once. I could not imagine my mother at any other facility. I sleep well at night knowing my mother is safe and just five minutes away. The pool table is great too...
