This is my Moms first week here and everything is exceptional. The community is welcoming and warm. The staff is friendly and professional and the food is amazing- 5 star restaurant quality! Chef Dane uses fresh herbs and fresh local fish. Delicious!!!

I am a current resident of Sellecks Woods. I really loved Alex’s music choice and exercise class. She is always high energy and a lot of fun. She is an asset to Sellecks woods! Mavel our engagement director creates very interesting classes and exercise programs for us. Anthony one of our chefs/servers always knows my allergies and restrictions and they know exactly what to do when I order something. This is one of my favorite parts of living here.

So happy with the care and support my mother receives at The Residence at Sellecks Woods. The staff truly go out of their way to make sure the residents are safe and well cared for at all times. During the recent blizzard, they even had several staff members spend the night to ensure service and care would not be interrupted. Such a great feeling to know mom is in such great hands. The staff in the Emerald Suites are especially wonderful!

I want to say what a wonderful experience it is working with the Director, Lidia Ayala, at this facility. She is always quick to respond and offers her help with anything I need for my mother-in-law, who has been at the facility for almost 2 years. Today it was paperwork for the VA for which I had 1 day’s notice. Lidia made it happen and I can’t thank her enough.

SW is overall a good option for senior care and assisted living. The staff is as a whole nice and caring. The one issue we had was when our parent was experiencing early dementia and the head nurse became involved. Sellecks could do a better job training the whole staff, not just the memory care staff on patience and understanding with early dementia. One waiter would get frustrated w/our parent, but a couple were understanding and would joke with them. Our parent was not ready for memory care but the head nurse threatened to medicate them with "a benzo" if there were any behavior issues. Benzo's are contraindicated for dementia, can exacerbate and accelerate the condition. Thankfully we had a wonderful geriatrician who was ready to fight for our parent and offered to talk to head nurse about what to do and what not to do and explain to her that memory care was not appropriate for the stage of dementia they were in. It's a cautionary tale for anyone dealing with a place like Selleck's. Private doctors should help guide you in dealing with treatment of your parent, not anyone on staff at the Residence. Another recommendation for anyone, is do not take your loved one to see the dentist who travels to Selleck's. They were uncaring, not thorough, and offered unnecessary, over-priced treatments. There was one woman in a wheelchair with advanced dementia without anyone to advocate for her during the visit. I think someone at least from Sellecks should have stayed with her if a family member could not be present.

We recently moved Mom into Reflections, the memory care community at Selleck’s Woods, and we received incredible support from the team. From the assessment of her needs to planning for her care to the logistics of her move, Selleck’s Woods has been a wonderful partner to our family. I particularly want to call out Mohammed, who leads operations/maintenance. I worked closely with him to ensure Mom’s apartment was set up (curtains installed/paintings up) before she arrived on site to see her new apartment. Mo went above and beyond to get the job done on time and showed such compassion when introducing Mom to her new space. On an emotionally challenging day for us, Mo, Dawn, Julia, and the entire Selleck’s Woods team made Mom’s transition happen as smoothly as was possible. We are so grateful.

My parents are so happy to be part of the Community at The Residence at Selleck’s Woods. While they are fond of their apartment, the terrace is their favorite place- just spectacular and the efforts to put together a unique garden have yielded truly amazing results.The staff SW are engaged and communicate with my parents on a personal level which we all appreciate and enjoy. There is a strong sense of community among the residents themselves, and I am happy that my parents have made so many nice friends.

This is a wonderful place to live the people here are great especially girl by the name, Julia Loda she is friendly and very capable and always there when you need her. The food is excellent and you have a variety to choose from. I am so happy I made the decision to move here. I hope you do too.

My mother is a resident of Selleck's Woods in Darien, CT. She took up residency after having partial hip surgery and right before a 100th birthday party we had planned for her at a restaurant. We needed to cancel the party at the last minute because of the surgery, but we were very fortunate to be able to reschedule the party for her, last minute, at Selleck's Woods. The party was so amazing and seamlessly perfect that it looked like it had been planned for months to take place at Selleck's Woods. There was a four-course sit down menu as well as delicious pre-lunch appetizers; there were balloons, a beautiful cake and tremendous flexibility for everything we asked of them in terms of her party. The occasion was never rushed and the Dining Room Director and the Master Chef were in attendance the entire time. It exceeded any and all of our expectations. From the moment we inquired about our mother's residency at Selleck's Woods they were great. With the prerequisite health/mobility evaluation the Director of Nursing came to mom's home to do her own appraisal. Everyone we have met at Selleck's Woods has been amazing, they go out of their way to be helpful and everyone we've met has been naturally kind and incredibly caring. They have met and exceeded every expectation we could have in terms of care and kindness. And, going back to the food, it's consistently delicious, and in case you don't see something on the daily menu that appeals to you, you can order something else that you may gave a yen for. I am definitely a Selleck's Woods enthusiast and would absolutely recommend the residency there for any of your dear ones. My mom is 100-years-old, but the age of residents there varies; it is really a home for anyone who wants a caring, loving environment.

My mother , Belinda, lived at sellecks woods unfortunately only a short while. She was extremely happy there. She said it reminded her of her sorority days in college. She had many friends , lots to do, and great food. She loved that I was able to come visit and participate in the lovely great offerings that the community had. It Truly warm family like environment. So much so that after my mother passed away I got a job there working in engagement.Sellecks woods of Darien is one of many wonderful LCB assisted Livings. Thank you.

I highly recommend the Residence at Selleck's Woods to anyone exploring senior living options for themselves or a loved one. Location wise, it is wonderful because it is privately tucked away, yet a minute away from everything! The team here is 10/10 - everyone comes to work with purpose and passion and this is coming from someone who doesn't even work here - but I am an outsider that sees the caring qualities of each team member you encounter. Once you meet the team and see the carefully thought out, beautiful community - I can guarantee you won't look anywhere else. The residents all look so happy and everyone is friends which is very heart warming to see - you walk through and you see them greeting one another and including each other in what they are doing that day. It is a great environment - go see for yourself 🙂

From the very first, , we were favorably impressed with both the Selleck's Woods facility as well as the staff. The facility is new, very well constructed and beautifully appointed. The staff is welcoming, friendly and very professional. Our move-in went well with our positive first impressions reinforced by our early experiences. We have been very pleased with our decision to join the Selleck's Woods community.

Moving my mom to CT from FL was stressful enough, but when we arrived, my mom was greeted at the door and the staff made her feel right at home. Since then, my mom has made lots of friends including the staff. She loves that she can eat at any time of the day an NO assigned seating! The place itself is like a hotel. New, bright, comfortable, but it's the people that work there that really make it the wonderful place it is. I highly recommend Residence at Sellecks Woods!

My 100 year old father recently moved into The Residence at Selleck's Woods and I couldn't be happier with the move. The staff are all very warm and welcoming, always making time to chat with him and with us as family members. The other residents have been equally warm and welcoming to him. The residence is lovely. His apartment is roomy, bright and perfect for his needs. The food is excellent as well. I feel very secure that his safety and physical needs are being well assessed and taken care of. As an elderly, long term widower who has lived alone and independently for many years we were concerned about how he would react to assisted living in a senior facility, but he seems very happy at Selleck's Woods and interacts enjoyably with staff and other residents daily. This is truly a wonderful senior residence.

My mom was one of the first residents to move into the beautiful facility in April 2019. Our family is thrilled that she is living is such a wonderful place. Not only does she have a big, bright, new apartment with huge windows, she is so well attended every day. The staff is caring and friendly and she is always made to feel welcome. The other residents are also welcoming and not cliquey. There is always someone to sit with and have a chat. I love that Barbara, the director, organizes parties that include both the residents and the staff and their families. It's great peace of mind to have nurses on hand, great cooks, and support staff who always greet my mom (and us) with a smile. And the activities director, Deb, thinks of a nice variety of fun things to do.

My dad moved into Sellecks Woods in March of 2019. He was greeted by both staff and other residents with open and welcoming arms. My father, at 89 years young has thrived in this new environment. As best stated by the television show Cheers, "Sometimes it's nice to go where everyone knows your name, and they're always glad you came'. Sellecks Woods has provided the "extra' that my collaborative family could not provide. Dad is now surrounded by his contemporaries, has a beyond delicious menu to choose from and his own apartment to relax in when he so chooses.

We are so glad we chose Selleck's Woods for our parents! The residence is beautiful, clean, and peaceful. The food is outstanding - healthy, varied and consistently delicious. There are so many excellent services onsite including primary care, dental care, podiatry, PT, OT and a salon. The resident engagement team always has interesting events happening both at Selleck's Woods and also excursions off site. Most of all the staff make Selleck's Woods a warm, safe, stimulating and fun place to live. Our parents have not been this happy and stress-free in several years (and neither have we!).

Beyond the obviously beautiful, new facility is an excellent, caring group of staff and nursing professionals. They have worked tirelessly to make my father's transition from a memory care facility on Cape Cod as easy as possible. Always cheerful and helpful, but most importantly kind, in all their interactions with us. They have really gotten to know him and make him feel welcome and appreciated. Soon my mother will join him but in the assisted living wing and we couldn't be more excited for them to be expertly taken care of given their different health needs. As an added bonus, the food is delicious!
