My wife and I recently had the opportunity to visit my brother-in-law who is a resident at the Artis Branford facility. We live out of state and try to come to Branford to visit family and friends. When we do, we always come to visit Mike at Artis. While there, we can both attest to the fact, that Helen McCarthy, Director of Life Enrichment, is simply wonderful with all of the residents, and with visiting family members. We have watched her deliver kind, caring, and compassionate services to all of the residents. She should be commended for her dedication, and commitment to delivering exceptional care to all of the residents at Artis in Branford. She is definitely making a difference in the lives of so many.

Recently I visited Artis Senior Living of Branford as my children and I searched for a facility for my husband. From the moment we walked into the living area we knew this was going to be his new home. Artis was clean, bright and well-staffed and the residents were happy and involved in activities. But putting him in a memory care facility was the hardest job I have ever done. The staff at Artis was wonderful, but without the help of Diana Naughton I don't know if I could have gotten through it. She saw to it that the transition for my husband went smoothly, then helped me by going above and beyond when I needed someone to talk with or a shoulder to cry on. She is one of the most compassionate people I have met. Diana has been tremendous help and I am so thankful for her and the excellent job she does. We definitely made the right decision when we selected Artis.

There are no words to adequately describe the amazing experience our mom and family had with ARTIS. Mom was previously in a memory care wing of a different assisted living facility for 8 months after the death of our dad, they were married 68 years and she was lost without him. She was fading away each day, not receiving the basic care she needed. We were impressed from our first meeting with Shannon who was the sales coordinator at the time and what can I say about Stasia Iwanski and Becky Moriarty. They were angels on earth who ran ARTIS from the heart. Mom moved to ARTIS in early February 2024 and the change was instantaneous! From engaging her in things like making pizza to joining in group activities with Wayne who was the most amazing activities director at the time. She thrived! Every single member of the staff treated mom with respect and love. The tasks we expected to be done were done to perfection - we never had to ask for laundry to be done or mom to be cleaned up…it was automatically done. Our only regret was not learning of ARTIS sooner. Sadly, mom passed away after only a short time at ARTIS in May 2024 after a catastrophic fall but a call from Nicole in nursing made her end of life days peaceful instead of stressful. She advised us Hospice services could be brought in so mom could spend her remaining days at ARTIS in her own unit surrounded by her own things instead of a rehab facility or worse. She was surrounded by love and treated with dignity right up until she took her last breath. Thank you for treating our entire family as if we truly were your family. The family of Madeline Sarno

My loved one has been residing at Artis for several months now, and the experience has been nothing short of exceptional. My father has participated in various art therapy sessions, music programs, and physical exercise classes, all of which have greatly contributed to their well-being and quality of life. The staff ensures that residents remain active and engaged, which is incredibly important for those with memory impairments. The facility itself is also designed with the needs of memory care residents in mind. The environment is safe and secure, with a layout that is easy to navigate, helping to reduce confusion and anxiety. The communal spaces are inviting and comfortable, creating a home-like atmosphere that puts residents at ease. Communication with the staff has been excellent. They keep us informed about our loved one's care and progress, and they are always available to answer any questions we may have. This transparency has been incredibly reassuring, knowing that our loved one is in such capable hands. We have peace of mind knowing that our father is receiving the best possible care, and we highly recommend Artis Senior Living to any family seeking quality memory care for their loved ones.

Sadly, most of us wait too long to get our loved ones to a place that can keep them safe, fed, properly medicated and bathed. It's a tough decision for a family. While nobody wants to to be get to the point of needing memory care, Artis provides a clean and caring environment. I am grateful for the care and compassion all the staff shared with my father.

We moved my Father in Law in on Memorial Day weekend. It was a difficult decision. He was living at home with great caregivers, but needed more activities and socialization. Artis is outstanding at providing opportunities for residents to be engaged, listen to music, participate in a variety of art, cooking, low impact exercise and games. The people are very caring and there is a real positive vibe. He is very happy. We have never thought twice about the decision.

Artis Senior Living in Branford is by far one of the best assisted living facilities in CT that I have had the pleasure to work side by side with as a home hospice nurse. Not only does the ambiance feel and look homey, but the staff are very friendly and show just how much they care about each resident, and their loved ones, in order to make a real home for each person. Their director of nursing, Ashley, really takes a team approach to make sure everyone is taken care of based on their individual needs. The nursing staff have kept us as outside providers informed on every detail, in real time, in order to provide the best level of care possible. Overall, Ashely and her staff are very knowledgeable, caring, and have been wonderful to work with over the past couple if years.

The transition from his home to assisted living is undeniably challenging, but Artis managed it seamlessly with care, respect, and personalized attention. The feedback and communication have been fantastic, and the meticulous attention to detail is something I've observed missing in my parents' living situation. My Mom spent 2 weeks at Artis Senior Living facility back in January 2023. After searching for a memory care facility for quite some time and visiting several facilities Artis was head and shoulders above the rest. From the moment I stepped foot in the facility and met with Shannon Valli I immediately knew this was the place for my Mom. Shannon was immensely helpful and a pleasure to deal with throughout whole move in process. Carolyn Kochan the Director of the Artis Way Experience was an invaluable resource for my family. She went above and beyond to ensure my Mom needs were met and the introductory welcome process went as seamless as possible. It was obvious to me this is truly a family like facility where people enjoy their jobs and care about your loved ones. The facility was clean, people who work there are pleasant and helpful. I would not hesitate to highly recommend this facility to anyone who is looking for a memory care facility for their loved ones. It is a 5 plus star in my book.

Caring for those with dementia and Alzheimer's is not easy; I've managed private care for both my parents over the last three years, so I've seen what it takes firsthand. The entire team at Artis deserves a lot of credit for doing a difficult job so well. I reviewed a lot of places, and Artis was a great fit for my father; he needed more socialization and interaction with lots of people, something hard to provide at home. First and foremost is the enrichment team; they are over the top with positive energy and genuine love and care for their residents. Every other place has its calendar of activities, but this was the only place I could hear the singing from down the hall and feel a positive energy. The community room is often filled with residents participating, especially the live music. The care providers, nursing staff, food services, and facilities all do their part and work hard to provide excellent care. My dad is always dressed well, well-fed, and well-cared for. I suggest that when it's more than just a couple care team members who are outstanding, then the management team deserves credit for creating and managing the culture for the right employees to do their best. The other residents also make great friends for my dad and are enjoyable to visit with as well. They look out for each other, providing a lending hand or a nice greeting. The rooms are nice, and the place is well-maintained and clean. Highly recommend.

I visited many facilities when embarking on the difficult process of deciding to place my mother in senior living memory care. While considering taking her away from her beautiful home and live in care, many places I toured felt like unimaginable options. The Artis experience began immediately with the thought-'I can picture mom living here'. My sisters and I choose Artis after several visits, checking references, and countless calls to Shannon, who answered questions and alleviated fears. Our mother has lived at Artis almost two years now, her quality of life, in spite of progressing dementia and physical decline, is amazing because of the community Artis is. The neighborhood center which is the hub of activities, expertly run by Jaymi who staffs with caring, loving, creative types has to be seen to be believed. The quality of human connection between residents, staff, family members is both entertaining and heartwarming. The tougher work of care partners, seeing to it that basic needs are met with consistency and respect is pulled off by some carrying more than their fair share of the load. While these positions have been a challenge to keep fully staffed, the exceptional ones, (and there are several) show up for this work day in and day out from some personal calling to be compassionate caregivers. It's a wonder to witness. I could go on and on describing the special vibe that animates the place. Every aspect of the organization is about its residents-nursing staff, kitchen crew (great food!), Rich's crew in maintenance is as likely to interact with a resident or family member as anyone when there's an opportunity to. While every human organization has its struggles and challenges, from this family members perspective, there's a confidence and deep appreciation that what happens day after day at Artis is a blessing for our mother and all of us.

My wife has been a resident for 18 months. I cannot speak highly enough about the level of love and care that she receives. One of life's hardest decisions is to place a loved one into someone else's care, so it has been a huge relief for me that the staff have been all that could be wished for. Despite staffing problems common to all businesses since the Covid pandemic, the Artis crew took it all in stride and deserve credit for that. 5 stars - no question.

When I visited and took the tour of the facility she answered all of my questions and concerned. Shannon was empathetic and caring towards me regarding my family situation. This is a time when I need people to be sensitive to my family member and to me as well! The facility looked well kept, set up appropriately for dementia residents. I haven't made the move yet but can recommend based on how I was treated and what I saw.

My mother-in-law stayed three weeks for respite care and we were very impressed with the level of care and accommodations. A very warm, family-like environment and so pleasant to visit. The facility was very clean, the food was very good, the activities were impressive, and the staff -amazing! I never had problems Mariela is excellent as human beings and as a manager. I love working with her so she always looks for a better way for the employee. Always more respect for everyone. only that after a while they recruited new employees who did not love their work. My 93 year old mother loved staying here both for a respite stay and then permanent placement. Staff is warm and thoughtful. There was a fresh bouquet of flowers in my mothers room and a cross stitched wall hanging. My mother often talked about all of her friends here because everyone made her feel welcome and included.

I visited this senior care center as part of the Rabbinical institute of new Englands outreach program. The staff here are fantastic!! A big call out to Ashley for her assistance, looks like they are always alert, in assisting the elderly. The building is beautiful, one of the nicest Ive seen in connecticut. The people here are very happy
