Do not give them a deposit. We were considering Bonaventure for my mother in law. They ask for a $500 deposit which was said to be fully refundable...That turned out to be untrue. We found a more suitable facility and as for the money back. We were promised the " check is in the mail" this was a couple of years ago...If we can't trust them with a deposit, I wouldn't leave a loved one in their care.

This is a great place to be! I trust every single one of the employees here. They all were so nice and friendly. They had answers to all of my questions. If I could, I would give this place 6 stars! Fantastic job guys!

The assisted living center at Bonnaventure of Thornton is a high quality living facility for seniors. The Director Gloria and front desk receptionist's, Evita were very friendly, accommodating and helpful, reaching out to assist with every need, when I stayed 2 weeks as a guest with my mother who has lived there for 2 years. Leo, the driver provided transportation to the Dr.'s for my mother in a safe and caring manner. George handled s maintenance / safety problem my mother had with a fast response. The activity director's are caring, friendly, and creative with numerous activities throughout the week. The food was good most of the time but on some days it could be improved, however choices of different foods were available. I highly recommend Bonaventure of Thornton as a safe and caring place to live with a community and family atmosphere.

We moved my mom to Bonaventure and it has been great. They treat her like family and make sure she's happy and participating in community events. Evita is outstanding and is always helpful when I come in. Jamie made sure we understood how things work and what level mom would be and she was patient and answered all my questions. The music you hear when you walk in the building is beautiful, whoever plays the piano should do that everyday. Thank you Bonaventure for making mom feel at home and loved.

Came to visit my grandpa in the memory impaired unit and the lady named Tiffany seemed to have a bad attitude and was being mean to the care people. The care people however was really nice and offered me and my grandpa a beverage and a snack. I also over heard the care people complaining to each other about a girl named Lisa and how she is bossy and unhelpful and that they don't like her. But otherwise, everything was fine.

My honeys mom has had covid, my honey is now on hospice for pancreatic cancer. I can only take care of one at a time. Nick and the incredible team at Bonaventure Thornton took great care of my honeys mom. Nick who is admit even pulled some over nights, did dishes, help with a shower and vacuumed. They are priceless humans. Thank you with my whole heart. Shoni

Came to visit my uncle, was greeted by receptionist and shown where to go as it was my first time visiting him which was nice. Upon going in my uncles room he was soaked in urine and his room was a mess. While visiting a guy named Fabian came in to give uncle his meds. It felt as if he was rushing my uncle to take his medicine and was very rude and short towards not only me but my uncle. Later as I was leaving the same guy was in the hallway hugging and kissing another employee. Maybe that's why he was rushing. I'm extremely concerned

Beautifully constructed building complimented with outstanding management. Nationwide, senior living has faced unprecedented challenges from the pandemic. Bonaventure continues to put focus on navigating a difficult circumstance to provide the pinnacle of quality. Dont hesitate to inquire about a tour or information, you won't be disappointed!

My mom moved in April 2019 to independent living. All the employees are so nice. They treat my mom like she is part of their family. Each and every employee from the director to the cleaning staff make my mom feel safe and cared for. UPDATE: Never transition your parent from independent to the assisted living at Bonaventure with out spending a day on the assisted side in the hall on 1st, 2nd or 3rd floor. Also check if there caretakers and Q-maps are qualified or trained to do the job there asked. I moved my mom to the 2nd floor assisted living because she had a stroke and doctors said she would do better in familiar surroundings. I had heard the care was not good and understaffed but still made the decision to move her there. I was assured by Diego that she would have the best of care. The first week she was there went okay they had full staff and checked on my mom every 2 hours as promised. After that they lost lots of staff and did not hire any just pulled staff from memory care or had one again one employee for over 60 residents and would pull the maintenance manager to help transport residents to the kitchen. When my mom pushed her help button the caretaker could not get to her for 15-20 minutes. Again PLEASE do your research before moving your loved one there. I almost lost my mom twice due them being understaffed and not qualified help. I had a ring doorbell in her room so I was able to monitor if she got care or not.

I never write reviews, but felt I needed to share our experience with Bonaventure of Thornton. My sister and I were apprehensive to move our dad during the COVID pandemic, but honestly we could not have picked a better place. From day one the staff has been awesome and continues to show how much they truly care about our dad. This experience has given myself, my sister and our dad a sense of peace and confidence knowing we chose the right place. Dad has been there for a few months now and he continues to enjoy everyday. Thank you. Stev

Excellent experience! We needed to move my mother from a facility that where she was not doing well to the north metro area. With COVID keeping everything on tele-meetings, finding a place was more challenging than it normally would be. Until we talked with Bonaventure. Not only did we have a great meeting with Executive Director Brittany, she arranged for us to get a tour of a model with an exterior door, socially distanced, with maximum PPE. They made signing the lease easy, accommodated move in dates and needs, and provided great support to her. My mom is now thriving in an environment where not only is COVID safety a high priority, they also have helped keep her engaged with shelter-in-place activities once group meetings were no longer an option. Everything here is new and modern! She loves the food; saves money thanks to free amenities like access to wi-fi, fitness center, and more; enjoys the freedom to decorate her place; and (most important to me) has had kind and personalized attention from staff and management. So glad we found this hidden gem for senior living and my mom's needs!
August 2020
The Bonaventure in Thornton has been so wonderful, and has really changed my opinion of senior living. From the beginning of the day late into the evening there are residents and staff out and about in the community with smiles on their faces, chatting and spending time with each other, which doesn't seem to be the case at the other options in the area. Everyone is so clearly happy, which is what is ultimately the most important when considering a home for mom. The activities and social events are always well attended, and the big monthly parties are a blast!
June 2020
Bonventure of Thornton is on it's third week of a lock down due to a virus in the building. Statistically 70 percent of Norovirus is caused by infected food workers. This could easily "be a five star facility but in the last 8 months there has been a turn over of at least six "chefs" and the residents have suffered slow food service, limitations of selection (one example is ice cream is not allowed with cake or pie) that is considered two desserts. The proper sanitation procedures have not been followed and now the residents suffer with a lock down. Residents are paying for a five star residence. Bonaventure corporate needs to step up and provide the quality food service that they advertise on their web site. Once that happens they can hopefully earn a five star rating.

My Mom moved into a beautiful two bedroom apartment in April 2019. She loves her apartment and the staff and has made a few friends. She's excited about the book club and enjoys the occasional live music. She also enjoyed the Sunday bus excursions until they were discontinued. Most everything has been satisfactory with the exception of the food. I've dined with her several times and both of us have been disappointed in the variety and quality of the food. Most seniors need and enjoy fresh, flavorful, nutritious and appetizing food with good presentation. I was impressed to see your advertisement for a Dining Services Manager with a goal to serve food comparable to a 5-star restaurant! Hope that happens soon along with hiring a new Activities Director! What is the time frame for filling these positions?

Pre-Move-In Five-Star Review from 2018 has been updated below. Mom mom has lived in a Bonaventure community in Washington for the past three years. Prior to moving from her house into the nearby Bonaventure community, she had lived alone for nearly 20 years. She was isolated and lonely. Since moving to Bonaventure, Mom has found a community of friends with whom she shares meals and afternoons filled with bingo and beanbag baseball. She's happier and healthier than she's been in years. Bonaventure provides a safe, warm, family-like environment that helps its residents live as independently as they are able. They are served healthy, tasty meals, receive help with housekeeping chores, and can participate in a variety of entertaining activities. As the soon-to-be residents of the new Bonaventure in Thornton wait for construction to be completed, Diego, the executive director, and his staff work hard to get to know each person. They organize a variety of group activities at locations near the new Bonaventure help build a community of people who are well on their way to becoming friends. 11/24/2019 Update Bonaventure Thornton is a lovely community and my mother, who has been living there since it (finally) opened in May 2019, is happy with her apartment. However, ongoing staffing and facilities issues, as well as slow food service and cold or barely warm food temperatures are problematic. It's not unusual for Asistant Director to be serving meals (and sometimes doing staff laundry) because of the short staffing. The bowling alley has been "closed for maintenance" for several weeks. The promised group activities have been seriously limited by the lack of an activity coordinator. The acting coordinator is also the shuttle driver, which means that organized on-site activities are impacted when the shuttle is needed. These problems were to be expected for the first couple of months after the opening in May, but after six x months you'd expect most of the "bugs" to be worked out. Instead, significant problems are persistent. Finally, email communication with the Executive Director about these and other issues do not get any response; one-on-one conversations get an "I'll check into it" with no follow up. The Assistant Director works tirelessly but cannot address the multitude of issues. I still believe that Bonaventure is a great place for my mom but I am becoming increasingly concerned about the slow resolution of the problems in the community.

We needed to find Memory Care for my father-in-law after significant changes over the past few weeks. It has been a tremendously difficult and emotional experience for my mother-in-law in transitioning from care giving at home to Memory Care. The staff at Bonaventure of Thornton are ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! The building itself is beautiful, and the set-up in Memory Care is well-planned and decorated. It is a lovely and very functionally designed layout. More important than all of that is the care and dedication we've received from Bonaventure. Brittany Hoza, the Executive Director, is engaged and supportive. Alice Joyal, the Sales & Marketing Director, helped us get all of the paperwork submitted. We were able to transition from hospital to move-in in less than three days! Gloria and Selena and ALL of the Memory Care staff have gone WAAAAAY above and beyond to get my father-in-law settled into the community. The staff doctor was very instrumental in getting an assessment and updating his meds. We could not be more pleased with the care and support Bonaventure has given our entire family. AND the food is amazing. Thank you to the Bonaventure team for holding our hands through this really difficult part of the Alzheimer's journey. May you be blessed abundantly more than you could ask or imagine for the incredible work you are doing. Mark and Michelle Dayhoff

I am reluctant as a rule to comment on social media; but had to say a huge thank you to all of the staff here! From management to caregivers including waitstaff, chefs, activity personnel, salon stylist, pub and cafe servers, maintenance and housekeeping staff. Each of you deserve huge recognition for the work that you do!! There is no one on BoT staff that doesn't go above and beyond the call of duty on a daily basis!! It doesn't go unnoticed to see everyone of you serving in capacities that exceed your paid positions!! Most, if not all of you often work well beyond an 8 hour day! I have never witnessed a more caring, compassionate staff even in the face of daily challenges including staff/resident vacancies, maintenance/building issues, day to day complaints from residents and overall challenges of serving a very diverse senior community. We are fortunate and blessed to live in a beautiful place and it is because of all of you that this is truly becoming home! Just wanted you all to know how much you are appreciated each and every day!! Thank you to all of you for everything you do!

We have had an apt. reserved since Spring and are excited to see the building nearing completion. During the waiting months, we have become fond of the wonderful staff and met many of our future neighbors. Bonaventure has treated us to so many special events, dinners etc that have kept the excitement alive as we wait for a move in date. Thanks so much to all the staff.
December 2018
Working with Brittany has been terrific. Although the facility is not yet open, she has been diligent in sharing updates and events and confirming unit availability so that when move-in date arrives all will be ready. Looking forward to the walk through when the grand opening takes place, we know it will be lovely. Thank you Brittany!
December 2018
I did want to say that experience with these folks has been nothing short of amazing, it is beautiful facility and everybody is super kind. They also put on some really great events.... this is, and was the top choice for my mom, I know she's in good hands. Daniel

Future retirement community. Looks nice.
January 2018
I came to hear about Bonaventure in January 2018, soon after the Community was announced. My reception was friendly and information was thorough, so a refundable deposit was left. Since then things have only gotten better. There have been social events so that people could meet other signers. This way on opening day we will know some of our Bonaventure family. I am excited about my move this fall and living in my chosen Retirement Community. Be sure to consider Bonaventure when you make your choice of where to retire and be pampered.
December 2017
I have watched this new senior place being built and have been so excited about it. I stopped by to get info for my aunt and had the pleasure of meeting Diego the director he was very sweet.I felt like I belong here. I applied for there receptionist position and got an interview with Brittany after talking to her I could tell her compassion for seniors was real I would love to be apart of this team.I have also had a deep compassion for our seniors and have felt that this has been a very rewarding job. i know I would make a great receptionist dependable loving and caring to our seniors and there families..To be part of this new beginning would be so awesome for sure.
