My mother lived at Bethesda Gardens for three and a half years with the last two years in memory care. This is a small facility with very nice decor throughout, a nice dining room and spaces for residents to relax and socialize. There are frequent visits by musical performers and therapy dogs. The first line staff seems to be happy, but the nursing director position turned over eight times over three and a half years. (Not good.) Common areas are kept clean and neat. I was a frequent visitor, especially for the last year my mother was there. She passed away in December 2024. Overall, the facility is mostly acceptable and appropriate. If I hadn't visited frequently, been observant, and spoke up when needed, it would have been a worse experience. If you place your loved one here, I recommend being very attentive and do not hesitate to say something to staff, supervisors, or the executive director. Be especially diligent around medication administration - even OTC meds. We experienced an issue with OTC medication that sent my mother to the hospital. Feedback and requests in writing is advised. Unfortunately, some issues we gave feedback or requests on had to be made repeatedly. First line staff was mostly attentive, caring, compassionate, and thorough, but a few will do only the bare minimum and at times must be reminded. The food is pretty good overall, with balanced meals and decent variety. (Some offerings seemed to me improper for seniors, i.e., a well-done pork chop or roast beef.) If a resident needs food cut for easier eating or requires only finger foods, there is a breakdown in communication of these requirements - it's hit or miss. Safety could be better here - not to say it's awful - but it is important and there is certainly room for improvement. Fall prevention is lacking. When my mother first moved from assisted living to memory care, an AI fall detection system was available, and we took advantage of it due to her fall history. It helped us make a change in her room after a fall. After a few months, it was taken out and not replaced. I am aware of residents who fell and were found on their room floor after who knows how many minutes or hours. This is an insufficiency in proper fall prevention care. I installed a camera in the room to monitor for falls, and to determine why/how some housekeeping tasks were not being done. Activities in the building has one dedicated manager. Assisted living residents have many varied activities available to them each day. A calendar of activities is made up at the beginning of each month for assisted living and memory residents, however I found the activities scheduled for memory care often do not take place. It would really help if a dedicated memory care activity coordinator was there, even if only part time. When I raised concerns on behalf of all the memory care residents, it would improve for a couple of weeks, then return to the lax routine. The weekly laundry service is usually reliable. Sometimes lapses occurred and staff had to be asked, or there were occasions when clothing was washed, but bedding was not. There will be lost clothing and items ruined from being washed improperly (i.e., a sweater washed in hot water). After my mother passed, I never received any communication from the facility or management expressing sympathy for her loss. Some of the staff said kind and comforting words when I was there to move things out, but not a word from senior staff/management. This was extremely disappointing. This is not an especially bad place overall, particularly for assisted living residents. In memory care, your loved one will benefit from frequent visits and constant and close observation. If there is any chance your loved one will need nursing care, would recommend finding another facility.

I’ve had a wonderful experience with Bethesda Gardens. From day one, I felt this was the perfect place. Everyone has been positive, helpful, knowledgeable. The room my mother is in is beautiful. Huge windows providing great light and elegance. The room appears so much more spacious and the light provides such a positive environment. It is a very quiet facility yet residents are always milling about. I’ve received immediate responses and solutions regarding the transition for my mom. I highly recommend visiting. You feel like they know you. You are family, not a number.

After touring 7 places in Florida and the local area I found the best possible place for my mother at Bethesda Gardens in Monument! When we first visited Bethesda Gardens we were greeted by Sarah at the front desk and instantly felt welcomed. Jackie, the Marketing Director, made us feel more like longtime friends than newcomers. She guided us through the admission process and has been very responsive ever since. From the Director to the Maintenance Manager, the Chef and all the staff greet my mother by her first name. Staff hugs have definitely helped my mother’s transition from living independently to being cared for. If you’re looking for a place that has that small town feeling, that’s one story and not a multi-level place with a confusing layout, where everyone knows everyone and there are no strangers, then look no further.

The move in process was clear and concise. The paperwork was clear. The facility although smaller than most, I find is pleasant, residents are out and about. There is good communication with staff.

I have nothing but good things to say about the staff and caregivers at Bethesda Gardens Monument! On many occasions I have witnessed them going above and beyond to love on those in their care. It is obvious the residents are family to them. My mother recently passed away and the way this team came around our family was beautiful and appreciated more than words can express. They care for and console my father who continues to live at Bethesda after losing his wife of 72 years. They are my heroes!

A beautiful, warm and welcoming community. These people truly care about their work here with their co workers, and residents, and it shows! They take the time to really talk, and get to know you as a person. They also take the time and put in the effort to make sure every inch of their community is squeaky clean - but not in the way that gives you a "hospital," feel. I would say it gives you more of a very nice hotel feel. If you're looking for a truly caring, compassionate, and clean/healthy home community for you or a loved one, this place is certainly worth your time to inquire about! It is also a fantastic place to consider employment!

I love the size of this community. Only being one level, no elevators and the ability for residents to get to know each other is the best part. The staff I have met are great and the level of care provided to the assisted living and memory care residents generates positive feedback from others. Convenient location.

I visited around dinner and there were several tables of people engaged with their neighbors in conversation. Bethesda Gardens Monument is amazing! I visited my grandmother recently and was in awe of the care she was receiving. The facility is beautiful, and I could tell she really felt comfortable and at home there. I also felt the staff there really cared about her, everyone knew her name, smiled and greeted me as I walked by and created such a friendly atmosphere. They keep her very active with activities and interaction with the other residents. Overall, a great experience for my first visit and I look forward to visiting again.

So impressed with my experience at Bethesda Gardens. The building is new and beautiful but when you walk in you feel right at home, not a cold hotel feel. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the residents are happy. The amenities are the best I saw while researching and I could not be happier with my decision. Would recommend to everyone!

Duplicate map marker so duplicating review..... -------- New facility and they are still ramping up on staff and care. They brought my mother in as a initial resident. After her evaluation a price was set and we decided to move her. Now, a few months down the road, they are "re-evaluating" her and the price is increasing sharply. I would understand if her needs had honestly changed, but they haven't. Yes she needs a high level of care, but I now feel it was kind of a bait and switch to get her there. Either that or they are real bad at the initial evaluation process. Time will tell if it is worth the new costs. The level of care needs to stabilize and become more consistent if they want us to stay in the long run. Yet another assisted living center will be opening in Monument soon and we will be looking there as a comparison.
