Flatirons crossing provides a value driven Independent Living community for the area. I have visited multiple times in a professional capacity. A few things that I look for when visiting a community: how are my clients welcomed, how does staff receive us, are there other happy folks that we meet while visiting, and what is the general "feeling of the community". I was happy to give positive remarks in all these areas- on each visit. The staff went above and beyond, especially the last time I was there. People went out of their way, (and their roles) to offer friendly help, guidance, and a general warm welcome. Thank you, Vickie (Executive Director)!

I have not lived there. I dropped in to look it over and was greeted by the very friendly and accommodating director, Vickie, who showed me and my friend around. I have not yet decided that I am ready to move from my home. The Flatirons Terrace was attractive and clean, and the people I encountered were friendly. Lunch was good. This is not one of the five-star hotel kind of places, so the cost was more reasonable. It has the necessary amenities. It is on my list whenever I decide it is time to move to senior housing. The location is convenient for central Boulder and the University. It is certainly worth a look.

Myself and two of my friends visited Flatirons Terrace Senior Living and were given a tour by Vickie Stotler Smith. The tour was thorough and informative and we were able to eat lunch in the dining room. The apartments and the facilities are great. The food was very good and Vickie fully answered all our questions both on the tour and with follow up phone calls of which there have been several. She has a wealth of knowledge where senior living is concerned and I deeply appreciate her invaluable help with this process.

Flatirons Terrace is a wonderful community! My mother was a tenant for a short time (due to health issues) but she really enjoyed this complex. The staff was always incredibly helpful and friendly and Tim was caring and empathetic. Unfortunately, my mom did not get to experience the amenities included, but they were extensive and seemed engaging. The building is beautiful and well kept, the apartments spacious and comfortable, and the food was amazing. Everything about this community left my husband and I wondering when we should move in!

My parent are moving into Flatirons Terrace in a few short weeks. We chose this as the best age-in-place options for our parents because the facility is beautiful (and located in a place with beautiful views), the staff are kind and committed, programming is top notch and the food is awesome! I will follow through with my review when my parents are settled, but thus far, and after having seen many other options, I am totally impressed with Flaatirons Terrace. Also, was surprised by the affordability compared to other independent living facilities. You get a lot for your money and this of course takes a lot of stress off my parents in the long run!

I worked at Flatirons Terrace for five years before I retired. If I had not retired I would still be working there today. Flatirons Terrace is a very special Retirement Community nestled in the beautiful Boulder Foothills where Residents can easily walk/drive to many events, shops and restaurants. The beauty of Flatirons Terrace is that Residents have within the community access to many options to choose from to enrich their lives. There are Educational Guest Speakers, Musicians, Mind Challenging Games, Crafts, Exercise Classes, Walking Groups, and more, and the Activities Director is always interested in hearing about new ideas. You can become as involved as you would like or just come and go knowing that you are living in a safe, caring, welcoming community. I often had children of our Residents tell me how grateful they were to have their parents living in our community. The staff truly enjoys working and caring for the Residents at Flatirons Terrace. Flatirons Terrace is a very special place that will always hold a special place in my heart!

I have visited Flatirons Terrace off and on since 2009, when their doors first opened to residents. It is such a perfect size community where the residents and staff know and sincerely care for one another. The array of interesting activities is wonderful; coordination with the University of Colorado conveniently situated across the street sometimes provides lectures and music. Tim Watson, the Executive Director , serenades residents with music in the hallways when residents have been unable to come out of their rooms for Happy Hour during the virus;. During this challenging time of Covid, FI was early to make the necessary precautions to assure the safety of its residents. To my knowledge, not one case has been reported. I'm ready to move in!

What a phenomenal and welcoming place this has been for my mom. It was a very difficult transition for our family because of her memory problems and independent personality. Flatiron Terrace was the perfect fit after 3 other disappointing and failed attempts in other places. The staff is so warm, patient, understanding, generous, forgiving and accommodating. They really helped facilitate her becoming accustomed to her new home which took some time due to her condition. Mom loves the food, artwork and atmosphere, and all that she is very picky about. Everyone is comforted by the serious efforts and protocols about keeping the facility safe during the pandemic, and yet are grateful for the personal contact we can still have with Mom, and the ability to hire extra caregivers for her extra needs. They go over and beyond to help families really make a new home.

Without reserve, one of the best senior living facilities in Boulder. The facility is mid sized, making it big enough for diversity but small enough to feel like home. The residents are an impressive bunch with past careers as musicians, college professors, business execs, and world travelers. The true jewel of FIT is the staff. They treated mom like family (the good kind), accommodating and caring for her beyond expectations. When she could no longer live independently and had to move to an assisted living facility ,they were as broken up as I was. Thoughtful and caring, they are an exceptional group and make Flatirons Terrace a great place to be.

I spent a lot of time researching and visiting Independent Living centers in Boulder before settling on Flaitrons Terrace for my parents. Two of the critical considerations were price and "feel" of the place - my parents were moving from the home they had lived in for years and I didn't want them to feel that the place was too institutional or constricting. Flatirons Terrace apartments are spacious and light-filled - which was very hard to find in Boulder without spending outside of our budget. In addition, it was clear that Flatirons Terrace cared about having good, healthy food options, including fresh vegetables and smart protein choices - another important thing when transitioning my parents from an environment with home cooking. It's also a relief to know that the building is highly secure and has someone on-premises 24 hours a day, in case of emergency. Other things I would add that makes Flatirons Terrace a true community: The staff is very invested in the residents, which I believe is due in part to the smaller size of the community - it's possible for the staff to get to know everyone well. There are activities of all kinds happening every single day, so I know my parents have options for keeping their minds sharp and making friends. If you are seeking a place in Boulder that is reasonably priced with excellent management and caring staff that will look out for your loved ones, I highly recommend Flatirons Terrace.

She just turned 90 years old and looking back at pictures of her, she looks younger and is happier than she was years ago. When I was researching senior retirement homes I took tours of several possible options. Flatirons Terrace stood head and shoulders above all the others because of the friendliness and general happy atmosphere! During tours residents would stop and want to meet me, asking, "are you new?' They were genuinely interested and wanted to get acquainted. Even the staff seemed to be happy. There is the feeling of a true community. Certainly, the facility is lovely and well cared for. The activities are many and varied, as are the services. There is an obvious focus on the happiness of the residents. When learning about an upcoming meeting of the Resident Council, I asked, "What is it like?" The response was that we are encouraged to ask questions, air complaints and concerns, make suggestions, discuss ideas, etc. I asked, "Does it make any difference?" The answer was, "Yes." I am really happy here and so glad I made the move!

I visited Flatirons Terrace Senior Living several weeks ago as a retirement option for the next phase of my life. I was greeted by helpful staff and received a tour of the facility. For starters, it is impeccably clean. The front gathering area is impressive with a large stone fireplace and open stairway. The dining hall was beautiful with engaging round tables, nice views and the food ... the food was delicious. (Even the desserts were homemade!) During the pandemic, meals are being delivered to individual rooms. I got the sense that the residents were great friends with each other and with the staff, themselves. There's a bustling energy throughout the complex. I heard that the director of the facility even leads singalongs with the residents. How cool! Flatirons Terrace rooms are large and bright and decorated beautifully. Each one has a spacious deck or a patio. The style is clean and modern and very appealing. Residents have the opportunity to relax outdoors on common patios with fire pits. My overall impression of Flatirons Terrace is that it is a wonderful independent living facility. I would encourage anyone of age looking to scale back on personal responsibilities for the "good life" to check it out.

When we moved to Flatirons Terrace (FT) nearly 10 years ago, we breathed a sigh of relief. We became immediately integrated into a family of more than 65 very interesting people. We no longer had to be concerned with many of the details of living in a 4-BR house -- utilities, cleaning, cable, phone, internet, and meal preparation. All of these are now provided in our month-to-month rent, and it even includes a heated garage! And, when we travel, we just lock our door and need not worry about anything. The move has given us time to do many things we had little time for when we lived in Westminster. FT's excellent location -- right across the street from the University of Colorado and minutes from many of the great things in Boulder -- provides all the cultural resources we could ever want, plus college sports as well. The management and staff of FT -- Dial Corporation -- are all part of our extended family. The daily and weekly activities they plan are many and varied -- so much so that we can't take advantage of them all. Moving to FT at 70 was the best decision we ever made. It's a wonderful place to live!

Large, spacious apartments. Small community so you get to know everyone. Rent includes phone and state of the art Wi-Fi. Extensive activity program led by a full time Director. Fine dining including a morning brunch. Van transportation to shopping and medical appointments. Location across the street from Univ. of Colorado campus. We've been here five years and counting and intend to keep on. It also means we're close to our daughter in Boulder.
