I frequent this community often because I am a delivery driver for a medical equipment company. The concierge here are always so welcoming. Bonnie and Ruby are always super helpful whenever I need to locate certain rooms and equipment. Each time I walk in, I am greeted and offered snacks and water. If I ever know anyone looking for senior living, I will be sure to refer them in the direction of Alta Vista.

I recently moved my in-laws in Alta Vista and they couldn't be happier. Everyone we meet is so nice and helpful and has made this transition go so smoothly for them. They love the food, their room and all the activities the facility has to offer. Special thanks to Carrie Compton. I couldn't have got their room set up without her help.

Alta Vista does not look like much from the outside, but the indoor renovations are superb. They really went all out with the remodel. The common spaces are light and bright and the renovated apartments are nice and inviting. The proximity to Tri-city medical center is a plus. On my tour, I appreciated Carrie’s honest and caring approach to sales. She even thought of a great option for interim care that I had not considered. Don’t let the dated exterior deter you. Take a tour and be pleasantly surprised.

Caring staff, and a nice community of residents. My mother has adjusted to life here fairly well, and the staff has been able to meet her needs, which at times can be challenging due to her memory and mobility issues.

The staff at Alta Vista, especially Carrie Compton went out of their way twice to accommodate my father, who has declined very rapidly as of late. While we didn't end up placing him there now due to his need for extensive care at this time, Alta Vista would be our first choice for him as the staff and facility are amazing.

I love how everyone is so friendly and caring towards their residents. Celine drives the transport van for my mom's doctor appointments and gets her there on time. Diane, the Executive Director is prompt with returning emails. The caregivers are very helpful. I love having a meal with my mom in the dining room. The food is always great!!

I have been visiting Alta Vista Senior Living (formerly Vista Village Senior Living) since 2018 as a Visit Captain with my therapy dog "Chewy" for Love on a Leash (LOAL) - San Diego North County Coastal Chapter, a non-profit therapy pet organization. I work with Rachel, the event coordinator, to arrange semi-monthly LOAL visits. I bring 2 to 5 pet therapy teams with me to visit with residents in the main community room in front and we finish our visit in the memory care side of the building. The residence are very interactive and enjoy the visits. I like that there are two patios we are able to bring our dogs out to for a break and we usually happen upon a resident or two on the patio to visit with as well. We were not able to visit during lockdown safety measures for 12 months, but are now able to start visiting again. We are so glad to be back in there connecting with the residents, sharing our dogs with them, and exchanging life stories. I noticed the building interior underwent renovations beginning late 2019 and is quite beautiful. I particularly like the new flooring, furniture, window dressings, and the oversized framed pictures of outdoor hobbies and sceneries that line the hallway walls. The ambience is calm and relaxing. There are several recreation rooms and a huge calendar of events posted on the wall near the reception desk. The calendar shows many daily activities, resident birthdays, fun holidays and events to look forward to. There are welcoming signs out front advertising tours daily. I recommend you take a tour and see for yourself if you are looking for a senior living residence for yourself or family member.

If your considering Alta Vista you won’t be disappointed. My mom has been a resident of Alta Vista for just over a year now. Mom loves her apartment and and all the care givers. When COVID got bad during the holidays I wanted mom to come stay with me but she was instant on staying home (Alta Vista). Special shout out to Rachel who always has a big smile and gets mom involved in activities. Mom love her BINGO!

My Father has been at Alta Vista Senior Living since 2019 and the experience has been great for my entire family. Shortly after placing him there we entered into the pandemic which has added a lot of stress to everyone's life. The team at Alta Vista has been nothing short of amazing in navigating through the last year of uncertainty. David, the Executive Director has done a tremendous job managing things. Additionally, Rachel, the Activities Director has treated my Father like family and I feel incredibly grateful that he is being taken care of. I would not hesitate to suggest Alta Vista to anyone for their family's Senior Care needs.

Walking into our front door, onr enters a small lobby - a gather4 place for readers, those waiting for friends or family & those just wanting to be part of the on-going activity. Those entering the premises are warmly greeted by Sherry, our concierge, who capably directs visitors, venders, outside care staff etc.to their destination. Alta Vista Senior Living is incredible. The staff are caring, qualified, hands-on and personable. I knew the moment that I walked into the facility that this was a place to call home for our Mom. I feel so lucky I found Alta Vista Senior Living for my Mom! I was really worried about finding a place she could afford and still be well taken care of, and most importantly, happy! I love that AVSL is on the smaller side as it has a more intimate feel vs. some of the larger places. Every time I visit her, she tells me thank you and how happy she is to be living there. All the employees that I have come in contact with are wonderful and major kudos to Rachel, the Activities Director - she is an absolute angel and it's very obvious that she loves what she does! I cannot say enough great things about Alta Vista Senior Living!!

We moved our parents to Vista Village three years ago and they feel good calling Alta Vista home! Management changed last year to Pacifica and they have been systematically renovating the property ever since and it is really looking great. With Covid-19 restrictions and our loved ones confined to their rooms, Rachel Sterling, Activity Director, and Sherry, front desk Receptionist have gone Above and Beyond to bring families together. Rachel reached out to the residents' families to arrange window visits that would let people see each other and still keep everyone safe and Sherry is always greeting family members with a smile and does what she can to coordinate visits and delivering care packages to loved ones. It has now been 7 weeks of social distancing and residents are getting restless and Rachel's solution was to give residents haircuts and manicures. We all feel good with a little pampering. Thanks so Much!

Three years ago, it came to a point where my mom needed more attentive daily care. I remembered a long-time friend was extremely happy with the facility her mom was living in. I gave her a call, and she referred me to Alta Vista Senior Living (formally Vista Village). We were given a tour and immediately felt comfortable with the facility. I have been pleased with the attention, care, and kindness shown to my mom by the staff. It certainly gives me peace of mind knowing my mom is being well cared for.

I’ve been to a lot of senior living communities, and this one definitely has the best activity program I’ve ever seen. Rachel is amazing, creative, and a wonderful activity director. She appeals to all residents and their picky needs when it comes to fun ideas and gatherings. The building is being remodeled and already looks 10x better than before. David is an awesome ED and really cares for his staff and residents.

I can describe the environment at Alta Vista Senior Living in one word: VIBRANT! I do not say this lightly. As an entertainer who regularly performs at over 25 retirement communities in San Diego and Orange County I’ve seen my share of facilities. From the moment you enter there is a clear difference. The staff, of course, is professional and courteous, but the real telltale is found in the joy of the residents themselves. And THAT is not something that happens all by itself. It is clear that the head of their Activities Department (Rachel Sterling) takes her job VERY seriously to ensure a seamless interaction of coordinated events that leave her residents satisfied and content. Of course, no doubt Rachel has tremendous support from her superiors. They obviously trust her instincts and are wise to do so. My mom has been a resident at Vista Village Senior Living for two years. It is rare that a day goes by where I do not visit. I go various times of the day. I have experienced nothing but kindness, gentleness and genuine concern for not only my mom but all the residents. I did my research prior to placing my mom in Vista Village. I have not been disappointed. I give five stars without hesitation or reservations.

I have been here quite often in the past visiting a resident. She was happy and well cared for. Occasionally we'd sing hymns while she would play the piano in the spacious room where residents mingle. The staff was always friendly. I recall the woman who sometimes visited with me saying maybe some day the two of us could live there! Recently I've had the pleasure of working with Rachel on a small outreach from our church to the residents. I believe her position is Director of Facilities or Events. She was so welcoming and helpful. I give Vista Village 4 stars. If I were a resident, think it would be 5!
