Oakmont of San Antonio Heights is an exceptionally beautiful facility which resembles a five-star hotel. Most importantly, the staff is extremely warm, attentive, and caring. I have repeatedly witnessed the love and concern they show for their residents. When we were in search of a home for our loved one, I was especially impressed by how each staff member we saw greeted us with a very warm "hello!" From Mia, Diane, Dana, Brandy, and everyone else whose name I don't yet know, the staff has given "their all" to give our loved one the best possible life that she can have. I am especially thankful for how they have accommodated her specific needs.

My 90-year old mother moved into this beautiful facility in July 2015, and she could not be happier. The staff are all attuned to my mom's needs and they really seem to love what they do and appreciate and love working with the elderly. They encourage family to stay overnight and to stop in any time, which gives me enormous peace of mind. The daily activities, including crafts, exercise classes, lecturers, entertainment and tours keep my mom's zest for life alive and her physical and mental health strong and vital. It was a tough decision to make to finally move her from her home of 62-years, but one that she and the entire family does not regret. Update at 4 years: she moved to memory care as disease progresses, but with activities and staff interaction her dementia has not progressed quickly. She still loves it! Update 7/2026 my mom passed away after living in this beautiful community for 11 years. The care, non-stop activities, wonderful food, delightful and caring staff, all made my mom's final years joyous. I believe that the staff and care at Oakmont was the reason she lived as long and as healthy as she did.

I enjoyed a very informative and enjoyable tour of Oakmont this morning. Mia Rendon and all of the staff I met were very friendly and helpful. The tour was professionally conducted, and I had no unanswered questions when the tour had concluded. I look forward to working with these people.

Our family is so grateful for the care and compassion shown by the staff at Oakmont of San Antonio Heights. Making the difficult decision to place a parent in a home is never easy, but the staff made the process so much easier for our family. They treated my mother with kindness, patience, and genuine care every step of the way. Knowing she was surrounded by such caring people brought us comfort during a very emotional time. We truly appreciate everything they did for my mother and our family.

This is an amazing place. The staff is incredibly caring and PATIENT. They truly care about your loved one and go out of the way to understand their needs. My mom was there in 2018 after suffering from an accident and was unable to go home. She stayed there about 10 months and when this year it was time to leave her house for good, Oakmont was our first (and really only) choice. They welcomed her back with open arms and have been attentive and helpful to her AND our family. I don't think you can do better than Oakmont.

Our family is so grateful for the care my grandma Virginia received at Oakmont of San Antonio Heights. Moving a family member into memory care is never an easy decision, but with her complex needs, we knew she required more support than we could give at home. Oakmont exceeded every expectation we had. The community is beautiful, clean, and comfortable, and the food always looked amazing. But what meant the most to us was the staff. Every person we interacted with treated our loved one with kindness, respect, and genuine compassion. It truly felt like they cared for her as if she were their own family. We never once doubted that she was safe, looked after, and cared for, all the way up to the day she passed. We want to thank the entire Oakmont team from the bottom of our hearts for giving her comfort, dignity, and love during such a difficult time for us.

As a resident of Oakmont Senior Living. I am very pleased with the office staff Mia Rendon. Following hours of work always ready to help with everything. I have a one bedroom that has lots of space. The past year have been delightful and a great experience dealing with a large staff with lots of responsibilities and yet very personable too all the residents. Today is New Years Eve. Two of my closest friends died this past year; the experience leaves me with many feelings, and I promised myself that I would attempt to convey my gratitude to the staff at Oakmont of San Antonio Heights before the close of 2024. The shock and rawness of losing people I love (husband and wife) was tolerable, softened and in some ways beautiful as I reflect on the genuine love given to my friend as he faced the challenges of losing his wife, his own terminal diagnosis and the upset of leaving his home of many years. In our initial visit, we toured the beautiful facility and its surroundings; we met with the Executive Director and the Director of Nursing who both spent a great deal of time with us. As luck would have it, there was one apartment available, and my friend decided to grab it. In a flash we were able to move him in (along with his cat) and I was able to return to my home confident that he was well cared for. A short 2 months later, I returned to spend the last weeks of my friend’s life with him. I am still amazed at how much genuine love and exemplary care he received. The dining staff (ALL the dining staff) knew his preferences, the laundry staff tended to his clothing meticulously (my friend was VERY particular) and the housekeeper kept his apartment tidy. The care team anticipated and managed his care and some even visited him when they had different assignments. On his final days, the staff (ALL the staff) visited him just to check in and let him know he was important. My dear friend died, not alone, but with his friends at his side, his cat in sight and a crew of angels that ensured he was comfortable and loved. I cannot say enough good things about Oakmont of San Antonio Heights “ wishing we all receive such loving attention at the end of our journeys.

Loved it for the first few years as our Mom was more independent. Fast forward to now, 6 years later, and we are very disappointed in the level of care. And everything is a la carte and believe me they don't do anything extra they don't get paid for as our mother is needing additional check-in and hearing aid assistance as she's deaf in one ear and has trouble seating her hearing aid daily. There has been a lack of routine tasks like bed making and laundry in the recent months. Previous to that her apartment became unkempt and housekeeping was sorely lacking. We moved her apartment which Oakmont was very helpful in executing, I will say that. Overall, for the cost of living there, we would look elsewhere. The only reason we have chosen not to do that is because of her age and she has friends and is comfortable there, and we don't want to disrupt her emotional well-being, as change is difficult at that age.

Among assisted living facilities, this place has some of the best food I have ever tired. The staff is so helpful and accommodating. The current Chef and their team are doing a 5-star job.

I have worked in nursing homes for many years and this was the most fantastic memory care unit that I have ever seen. They actively engage the elderly in activities and there were so many busy stations for them. There was a "work bench with (safe) tools" a "washer and dryer" a "beauty station" all filled with items they could remove from the station and use. There were baby dolls for them to take care of that included diapers and clothes for them. Never have I seen so much for them to do. It was absolutely refreshing to see a facility that doesn't just stick all the residents in front of a television. My grandfather was here before he passed away and I am delighted that he was able to spend his last year in this facility. Would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking to put a loved one in a home away from home. The staff was pleasant and took wonderful care of my loved one, he was always clean and dressed nicely, and that was each time I just popped in. Never called in advance and he still looked well taken care of.

Based on my 93 year old Aunt, 94 in January, she absolutely LOVES this place! She was in another one down the road, and she was happy there, but she is happier here. I'm hoping to visit with her this December, as we live in Hawaii and see her about once a year, and I will see it for myself and perhaps do another review. I've see pictures of her apartment, the dining room and activity room, and can find no fault with the home. The loves the activities and participates in just about every one, even chair volleyball at her age. She loves the entertainment, the people are wonderful to her, and she's blessed she has such a beautiful and wonderful place to live. She cannot say enough good things about it! And does she love the food! ;-)))

I love this home for elders, I been a Caregiver for lot if yrs., I assisted a client as personal help and were treated very kind, good food, beautiful kind, Caregivers, that assisted my client, with most warm welcome, where this is his new home! I definitely recommend this Convalescence home to anyone!
