The staff in Assisted Living and in Skilled Nursing are always attentive, helpful and respectful. The physical environment is always clean and sweet-smelling. Oakview is a wonderful place to live when needed. ‘

My family and I are profoundly grateful for the extraordinary care my husband, Jim, received at Oak View Skilled Nursing. When Jim was admitted on March 17th, following a fall on March 1st that resulted in a brain bleed, he was unable to speak, eat, or even sit up on his own. It was one of the most difficult times our family has ever faced. What happened next at Oak View was nothing short of remarkable. Through the skill, dedication, and compassion of the entire team, Jim made incredible progress”so much so that he was ultimately able to walk out of Oak View May 4th using a walker. That transformation speaks volumes about the level of care provided. A very special thank you to Maria Tang-Itow, Director of Nursing, whose leadership and orchestration of care was truly exceptional. Her commitment to excellence was evident in every aspect of Jim’s treatment. The rehabilitation team, led by Director of Rehabilitation Michelle Clark, worked absolute wonders. I especially want to recognize Chris, one of the physical therapists, whose patience, encouragement, and expertise were instrumental in helping Jim regain his ability to walk. He never gave up on Jim”even when progress felt slow”and that made all the difference. The nursing staff was equally outstanding. Hilda McCrossan is the kind of nurse every patient hopes for”compassionate, attentive, and deeply committed to her patients. She, along with the entire nursing team, treated Jim with dignity and kindness every single day. The CNAs, including Ana Cortes, went above and beyond. They didn’t just care for Jim”they took the time to know him, and even our family. That personal connection meant more to us than words can express. It is clear that the facility’s leadership, under Evelyn Barton, has created a positive, supportive environment where staff genuinely enjoy their work”and that spirit carries through to the level of care patients receive. We feel incredibly blessed that Jim was placed at Oak View during such a critical time in his recovery. The care he received bridged the gap between hospital and memory care in the most meaningful and life-changing way. I feel incredibly fortunate that my loved one was admitted to Oakview for a short-term rehabilitation stay. Every department truly went above and beyond to support us. The admissions team was wonderful to work with, they guided me through every step, answered all my questions, and made what could have been a stressful process feel smooth and reassuring. The nursing staff and CNAs were exceptional, kind, welcoming, knowledgeable, and highly skilled. They provided excellent care while always showing genuine compassion. The OT and PT teams were top-tier; they worked diligently and offered constant encouragement, helping ensure real progress was made. The facility itself is beautiful and impeccably clean. We were also impressed by the quality of the meals and the effort made to accommodate special dietary requests. Residents are engaged throughout the day with activities, and it’s clear they are treated with dignity and like family. The front lobby staff and nursing clerk always greeted us with warm smiles and were eager to help with anything we needed. When it came time for discharge, the social worker went above and beyond to connect us with helpful resources for continued care. We were genuinely sad when our stay came to an end. Oakview is a truly special place with an incredible team. Thank you, Oakview, for everything.

The benefit of being a nursing student is clinical rotations in which you gain experience at various health care settings. Oak View was my 3rd stop and my favorite thus far. This facility is akin to a 5 star hotel. Top to bottom and bottom to top on cleanliness, staff service and resident satisfaction. The residents are so well taken care of. The CNA to resident ratio is low, thus the hands on attentive care is acute. I saw nurses care for residents with a smile and with love in their souls. Special shout outs to nurses Lindsay, Joselyn, Shelby, Karina, Ari and CNAs Juliet, Carla, Pam, Anjelly and so many more whose names are escaping me. From the second you walk in, you're greeted w a smile from front desk, the cleaning crew is friendly and hard working. Backstage in the kitchen the cooks are smiling and the kitchen staff is happy. They produce hundreds of AAA Michelin star rated esque meals every day served in the beautiful dining room or in the resident rooms. There are families visiting daily you pass by in the halls and in the resident rooms. They seem at ease and peaceful. This is a home away from home. If i had to have a loved one in a facility this would be top choice.

OakView skilled nursing facility is a top-notch location for acute rehab. From the moment you drive up to the facility, walk into the building and go to your assigned room, you can see the building is very well taken care of and nicely decorated. This is important as it shows their attention to detail. In the room, there is a lovely armoire for every patient to use for their belongings along with a nightstand, hospital bed and tray. The true star of the facility are the employees. The CNAs are always quick to respond and provide you with the service you need. The LVN’s who dispense the medication are equally quick to help. and they give kind words of caring and encouragement for each patient. . OakView is like a fine tuned instrument. Administrative staff checks on patients to cater to their needs. The social worker in particular is very hard-working and extremely kind. She is full of information and ready to help all she can. Oakview is outstanding. I highly recommend it.

After several happy years at University Village, my grandmother moved to OakView and, over time, transitioned through Assisted Living, Memory Care, and eventually Skilled Nursing. At each stage, the experience was consistently strong. Her rooms were clean, bright, and comfortable, with good natural light and a sense of calm that mattered more than I expected. Until her last room, we always asked and waited for a private room. Every space I saw was well maintained and thoughtfully arranged. The meals were very satisfactory for this stage of life”nutritious, appealing, and served in a dining room that felt welcoming rather than institutional. I often arrived during mealtimes or activities and always saw residents engaged, relaxed, and treated with real warmth. The people who work here are the backbone of what makes OakView special. Their care goes well beyond being professional; they are genuinely personable, patient, and attentive. They treated my grandmother with respect and tenderness, and they communicated reliably with our family. They also partnered incredibly well with my parents throughout her care journey. Watching how they cared for her”and for the other residents”gave me real peace of mind. I’ve even told my husband that this is the kind of place I’d hope for myself someday. My mother moved from Assisted Living to Memory Care to Skilled Nursing, where she lived until she passed at age 100. Each step of the way she received the most loving, expert, personal attention. She never had a bed sore, she was monitored and tended with utmost skill and care, and the staff was sure to note her personal preferences to the very end. My nursing relatives said they had never seen a place run so smoothly. I recently spent four weeks in the Skilled Nursing Unit at Oakview, as I had left the hospital but was not ready to return to living independently yet.. The staff were extremely competent, caring and supportive. I was treated with respect and dignity, being included in my health decisions and goals. New medical equipment was introduced into my life and the nursing staff helped me understand the equipment and become comfortable using it. I would recommend it to anyone and would award more stars if possible.

Administrators and staff care deeply about their residents at Oak View in Thousand Oaks, CA. Although mom's placement was temporary due to her evacuation from the Altadena fires, everyone worked very hard to assist mom's transition into their memory care unit. Mom suffers from dementia and needed special help throughout her stay. Staff were kind and loving, and did wonders to get mom to participate in daily group activities. Mom repeatedly said she was happy and really liked where she was living. We wish she could have stayed, but there were many assisted living residents at Oak View awaiting space in the memory care unit. I highly recommend Oak View if you have a loved one in need of assisted living or memory care.

Physical Therapy was excellent and she received therapy 2 or 3 times a day from very professional therapist. The food was nicely prepared. The entertainment staff was excellent and she enjoyed every moment of that part of her day. Oak View was very clean and had a more home like appearance.

My dad was in a Skilled Nursing Facility years ago and the care was so abominable that when my husband fractured his shoulder and was going to be sent from the hospital to a SNF, I said absolutely not. My wonderful PCP, Dr. Russ Hines, helped me make the decision that sending him for care to Oakview SNF would be the best thing for him and he was soooo right. There was no elelment of his care that wasn't 100% outstanding from the nursing staff, to the caregivers, to the food which was as good as any restaurant. The OT/PT staff were about the best there are around. The progress my husband has made there astounded us. He was discharged yesterday and kudos to Amor who handled the whole process making it painless and easy. If I forgot anyone, please excuse me- you at Oakview are ALL the best. The thing about Oakview is that they are always there for you- even after the discharge. They absolutely deserve their 5 star medicare rating and if there were a 10 star rating, I'd give them that!!!

I can't begin to say enough good things about Oakview Health Center! The Staff is compassionate, intentional, and attentive. The environment is lovely, clean, and provides ample space for patients. The care is top notch! Every staff person I have interacted with from admissions, to medical techs, social worker and the Director of Nursing have gone out of their way to help us navigate the process of moving my father into skilled nursing. They seriously have thought of everything (visits from docs, dentists, optometrists even podiatrists). They have lovingly walked us through this process of transition. This is an EXCELLENT place for elderly to recover from surgeries or received skilled nursing care.

I always heard and known about the great reputation of Oak view for skilled nursing. Had to put it to test unfortunately due to my moms femur break and needing 8 weeks of skilled nursing. I could not have been more pleased and happy with the excellent care and compassion given to my mom (age 85) ! (and while my dad (96 years old) went everyday too to visit her, he was shown the kindness too).My mom was sad to leave after the great care, and kindness, and professionalism. Their admissions process was great and thorough, and I felt so confident with my mom being there. Nurses and PT were fantastic, admission, social services, activities, hair salon, reception desk. My mom felt like a superstar and seen and heard. Their food was delicious and terrific too! In choosing the right care you want to feel good and confident in your choice and I could not have been more pleased! Oh and cleanliness of the areas, rooms and facilities were spot on, and the staff, nurses, etc. all wear masks so no issues. The communication between nurses, staff, and my family as I needed was good for all the extras I was needing for her care. They took care of various things that helped ease the stress off myself. The outside patios were wonderful too and rooms were good in size so no issues. Bottom line easily a five star rating and I can now affirming attest to the great reputation for great reason.

My husband was in Oakview for 7 1/2 weeks and we had a wonderful experience there. The staff is friendly, attentive, and caring. I was thrilled when Evelyn called to tell me there was a spot for him. The activities they have there during the day are wonderful and led by 2 wonderful ladies. The OT and PT are top notch. Amor from Social Services was someone who was always there for me to help with applications and support at all times. I could not have gotten through those tedious applications without her. I would highly recommend this facility.

My mother has had the great good fortune of residing at OakView for more than a year. After happily residing for 14 years at University Village Independent Living, our family grew concerned about her forgetting to take medications, eat and shower. Several incidents of her wandering the campus at night led us to decide that she needed more supervision. We were delighted to secure a large, bright and airy one-bedroom unit at OakView, right next door. OakView more than satisfies the daily needs of our 91-year-old mother, augmented with services such as laundry, weekly apartment cleaning, entertainment and exercise classes. We were delighted to discover that OakView residents can receive newspaper delivery, and on-site toenail and dental care. When she needs to travel off-campus for appointments, OakView arranges for transportation and a caregiver to accompany her. We’ve been greatly comforted by OakView’s proactively ensuring that its residents and staff receive all Covid vaccinations and boosters as soon as they are available, and that visitors follow appropriate safety protocol. Most important is that our mother receives constant attention by OakView staff who are unfailingly cheerful and genuinely caring under the most-challenging circumstances. They recognize and promptly alert us to changes to her physical and emotional status. It’s hard to imagine a more comfortable and caring environment for our mother during this phase of her life.

My mom was recently admitted to Oakview in skilled nursing. When it came time to celebrate my dad's 96th birthday, we worried about how to make it special and include my mom. The Oakview director, Jeannette, arranged for a delicious surf and turf luncheon on their beautiful patio to help us celebrate a special day during a difficult time. Our waitress, Patty, did a fantastic job making sure we had everything we needed. Oliver handled much of the communication with us beforehand and then checked in during lunch to take a family picture. After the delicious caramel cheesecake dessert, Marvin, the chef, came out to check in. It was a five-star dining experience! A big thanks to the Oakview staff for giving us a wonderful family memory!

My 94 year old mom went into Oakview's skilled nursing from UVTO Independent Living following a surgery. Her care was extraordinary, from the excellent nursing staff to the enthusiastic and skilled therapy staffs. We thought she would be heading back to her apartment. This was not to be, sadly. She took a downturn and left us quickly after that. The nursing staff saw her, and us as her family, thru this difficult time with extreme kindness and care. There were many exceptional moments, and we are grateful to each individual involved in her care. Many people whose names I never knew, but Manny, Karen, Blanca come to mind. Maria, as head of nursing, was simply extraordinary in her oversight and direct care of our mom during the entire experience, but especially at the end. The social service head, Amor, kept us apprised at each juncture of the direction taken by the doctors and, finally, hospice. The reception staff was empathic and generous with each of us as we hurried in and out. Words really cannot describe our gratitude to these exceptional and brave and kind people. Thank you to each and every one of you, from my brothers and sister.

Judi Hutchinson 1 review in the last week I was in the rehab at oak view after I had a run in with my rooster, breaking my hip and femur. The care here was five star. The staff was very helpful and sympathetic. The physical therapist we're excellent. My family and friends would come with dinner and we would sit in one of the lovely patios with the fountains keeping us cool. My husband even brought our dog, Thoreau, and he was welcomed by everyone. I highly recommend Oak view for assisted living.
