Belmont Village Senior Living hosted the community resource group Moving Seniors Forward for lunch today and I want to express my appreciation. The facility is beautiful, the staff are loving and caring, and I so appreciate everything they are doing for our seniors.

Belmont Thousand Oaks is a wonderful place. They do such a good job of hiring people who really, really care. The pals are wonderful and so are the enrichment leaders. The programming for Circle of Friends and the Neighborhood (memory care) is top notch. Collette who is in charge of this aspect is beyond helpful and amazing. The residents are happy and engaged because the people who work here genuinely care about them.

Our first impressions were very positive! Attention to detail is at a 5 Star level. The services and amenities for people of varying needs are amazing. It's always a heart-wrenching experience for any family to arrange for long term care.. There is no way as a daughter, I could provide a fraction of the activities and socialization Mom will get at Belmont. An added bonus is how family friendly it is. Visits and occasional outings are welcomed and the ability to join her in the dining hall is a nice option! The Circle of Friends will encourage socialization and activities. I can't imagine a better place for a parent or relative who needs a little extra assistance. Nothing we saw was remotely institutional and the activities geared to maintain brain heath!

My Mom has been living at Belmont for 4 years, she was 98 in Dec. I have never regretted choosing Belmont. Everyone on staff has gone above and beyond in so many ways. They really took the time to learn what my Mom likes to eat, what activities she enjoys, her hobbies, her family stories, what extra needs she may have. They go out of their way to give an extra hug, a chat, a smile. I am amazed and grateful at the level of care and concern everyone at Belmont gives my Mom on a daily basis. I cant say enough about everyone on staff from the bus drivers to the RNs. The dining options are top notch. Wonderful PTs that help keep her mobile. Activities Director does a super job and there are lots of outing and a variety of daily games and activities. My Mom had to have surgery last year and spent 1 week in the hospital and 1 week in at a skilled nursing, rehab facility. Members of the Belmont staff came to visit her in the hospital. She did not want to be at the skilled nursing facility and thought I was taking her there to die (it was heart wrenching every day she was there). I spoke to the Director at Belmont (Bradlee) during the entire process, she knew our situation and that Mom did not want to stay a second week. I will never forget her telling me that Phyllis is part of our family and community. She understood that staying in the other place was not the best for my Mom mentally, ..and was instrumental in helping me get her back home to Belmont and doing her second rehab week in her own room. They all went the extra mile to make this happen. There are places that are cheaper but I would recommend Belmont without hesitation. My Mom is well cared for, but more importantly, she is cared about. Kudos to all the staff at Belmont. You are Angels on Earth.

One of the cleanest places Ive seen for senior communities. Some things seem to fall through the cracks here but Im not sure if thats because of changing staff or bad communication standards for emailing, messages in certain departments. Overall it seems pleasant and residents have activities almost everyday of the week.
