I’m in the trenches as the POA caring for my elder friend, Jer, who is 89. I needed support when he returned home from being in a skilled nursing facility for a year after having two strokes. It does ‘take a village,’ working cohesively to serve an elder needing care. The manager of Kindred at Home in San Rafael, Charles, humbly extended himself to support me and to support my friend in need. I don’t have the words to describe how grateful and touched I was that he pitched in to help out without a second thought even though he is a branch manager. When everyone puts the elder’s need first, the relationships of those helping out transforms in the deepest of ways. Charles put on the ‘hat’ needed in the moment - and without hesitation - to support the well-being of my friend of 18 years. The way Charles assisted my friend Jer was from his heart and soul. I believe people are led by divine intervention to this work - it is a spiritual or humanitarian calling - it isn’t just a job. It takes a very unique combination of skills and compassion to do this work. I will always be very grateful to Charles, the Branch manager, for providing the best possible care to my friend. Kindred at Home came into our familys life with a recommendation from our home health social worker, Kelli, and we have been extremely grateful. Faye, Kindred at Home Manager, was particularly accommodating, supportive and responsive to our familys needs for our 92 years old father. Our father went through three major surgeries in less than one year, and Faye did an outstanding job in matching our father to his current health care aide, Adriana. Adriana is extremely knowledgeable, caring, and a compassionate caregiver who has been able to offer our father the very best in-home care for the last three months. With great attention to details, Adrianas specialty is following-up on PT-OT therapy, bathing, cooking, friendship and listening. We feel like we won the lottery with Adriana! In a very short time, she has become a family member and we are very thankful.

Kindred has been there for us for over six months now, and I cant imagine how we would have managed without their support. Jasmine, who handles our schedule, consistently goes over and above to meet our needs. And then theres our angel, Adriana, whose sunny presence has lightened the load in too many ways to describe. Weve also had nothing but positive experiences with other caregivers who have helped out when Adriana isnt available. Im deeply grateful to Kindred and all the wonderful people theyve brought into our lives.

I have been cared for very capably by three different care givers starting with Akayla, Kimberly and Connie, each here in our home for 8 hours a piece. They are well trained and very responsive whenever I request they give me help.I would also like to praise the supervisory staff beginning with FAYE and Jasmine.This is a company I hope to have provide in home care for me into whatever time I have left to live, after an on the job injury. Kindred was very responsive in finding home health assistants for my parents. The staff they sent over were very competent and got their jobs done as needed. In one case, the personality of one of the assistants was not meshing well with my parents and Kindred was helpful in finding a resolution. They are a larger firm, so they are seemingly available all the time.
