My mother has lived at San Leandro Senior Living for 3 years and is happy and thriving. She has received excellent care and support over the years. My mother loves her private room and the community dining room, and the shopping trip excursions. She also enjoys the way the holidays are celebrated throughout the year with beautiful decorations, a special themed meal, and often live music with dancing. I visit my mother several times a week and see first-hand how the management and staff at San Leandro Senior Living are consistently warm and professional. I was recently impressed with the responsiveness of the Executive Director (Glenda) and Business Office Manager (Lisa) when an unexpected issue occurred. They listened attentively and went above and beyond to find a resolution. I am deeply grateful to San Leandro Senior Living for their exceptional efforts to provide my mother with a home where she gets the best care possible.

My husband and I were looking for a senior facility for my dad that was local and with the budget. When we visited San Leandro Senior Living... we were met with an amazing since of community.. family. From the exterior of the building, to meeting some of the residents and staff, all the way to having lunch there, our expectations were exceeded! But most importantly, my dad LOVED it! And that was the best feeling and that took a huge weight of our shoulders! We are excited to have found this place for dad and that he is going to be in great hands! I had a wonderful experience touring San Leandro Living Community. The environment felt incredibly friendly, clean and welcoming from the moment I walked in. The staff were professional, highly knowledgeable, and very personable. What I appreciate it most was that they were incredibly thorough setting the right expectations and provided tons of great information without making me feel pressured to sign up right away. The units themselves are nice and a decent size. I definitely plan on revising in the future when I’m fully ready and would love to check out a third floor unit when one becomes available. This facility is so awesome my mom has been here for about 1-1/2 years. She loves it here. She had made a lot of friends and stays super busy with all the activities they provide. The office staff is super friendly they always go around checking on all the residents and making sure if they need anything daily Lisa and Glenda are awesome, Jerome is also another one of my moms favorite. This facility is always kept very clean and always decorated for the holidays its a very festive atmosphere. Thanks to the office staff for making my mom feel right at home.

Moving my parents into assisted living was a big step, but the team at San Leandro Senior Living made the transition remarkably smooth. Today, they’re happy there. We chose this community for its clean, contemporary private suites”each with its own bathroom and wet bar”at a price well below comparable Bay Area options. Just as important, the staff consistently tailors care to my mother’s special needs. When issues arise, General Manager Glenda and Business Office Manager Lisa work with me to address them quickly and thoughtfully. Resident Services Director Olive keeps a close eye on emergency response procedures and medication management, and the staff calls me right away whenever something needs my attention. Dining is another highlight. Chefs Abel, Judee, and Anna gladly adapt menus to provide Asian-influenced dishes while meeting my mother’s dietary requirements. Activities Director Linda keeps my father engaged with field trips and even solves his tech glitches, while designing lively programs for all residents. Caregivers Nancy and Roselyn know my mother’s routines by heart, ensuring she rests comfortably and maintains her preferred hygiene schedule. And the residents themselves are wonderfully warm”greeting my parents at every meal, holding my mother’s hand, and showering her with affection. San Leandro Senior Living has become an extension of our family, and I’m grateful to have them on this journey with us.

The facility is clean, safe, and in a great location. The staff is friendly and caring. They are led by a management team of Lisa, Glenda, Linda and others. They are detail oriented and oriented to detail. If a problem arises they are quick to respond in a timely manner. I’ve been here for almost a year and have no issues. This was added one June 4thThe residents are provided with a long list of weekly/daily activities (bingo, trips by bus to stores, meals) guest speakers covering a myriad of subjects and even live performances by bands. The facility is continently located in downtown San Leandro for shoppers. Local transit and BART are within a couple blocks as well. Finally, the outstanding staff asks an and listens carefully to our concerns and input on a variety of subjects. Posted June 20th We had a town meeting this week. It was very informative, well-planned and open to all for input. Management asked for our input on a variety of topics, including how to improve the day-to-day operations of our facility. All inquiries were well received, openly discussed and ready for for discussion. This is a prime example that our management team cares about the residents. The meeting was followed up with a recap memo delivered to our rooms. This is just one example of management’s pledge to keep all residents informed of any follow up of any and all concerns. This is a great technique to let everyone feel important and a valuable member of our community, especially those who could not attend. In summation, our management team always has taken the extra step in updating and caring about the community.

My mom moved into Pacifica Senior Living, San Leandro, in July of this year. Prior to moving in, this was her life - married for 65 years, raised 5 children, lived in same San Francisco apartment since early 1990s. Our father, her husband, was placed in long term care in March of 2021 until he passed away in 2023. For the better part of three years, my mom lived alone in that S.F. apartment. Because she never learned to drive a car, she was dependent on her children to take her to visit our father, to shop with her for groceries and other necessities, and most importantly, for companionship. In May of this year, she was hospitalized and needed help from her children to recuperate. It was then that my brother, my three sisters, and I decided it was time to look into assisted living for our 88-year-old mother. My brother and I searched for senior housing in the San Francisco Bay Area, We found Pacifica Senior Living in San Leandro. It is located about 10 minutes from one of us, and the idea of that proximity was intriguing. My brother and I visited with Shirley McElhattan, the Community Relations Director, separately. After our visits, we both agreed that this could be a great fit for our mother (emphasis on could). It was then time to broach the idea of moving into an assisted living community with mom. Inseparable from our dad between 1958 and 2021, my mom was suddenly thrust into living by herself. Because of her recent hospitalization and subsequent recuperation period, she actually accepted the idea of moving into an assisted living community where: she would no longer need to cook for herself; she would get her apartment cleaned regularly; she would get her laundry done for her; and, if and when needed, she would have access to special assistance with bathing and dressing. Pacifica Senior Living in San Leandro provides all of these services for her, but what we did not count on was the transformative power of the Community that is the Pacifica. Every single person she has met has been welcoming “ Shirley, Lisa, Glenda, Gladys, Linda, Gendelle, Nancy, Edna, Vicky, Judee, Jerome, Delma, Alicia, and countless others! Our mother is thriving at the Pacifica! She enjoys the food offerings. She has made friends with her fellow residents. She has participated in many of the daily activities. Every day when we speak, either in person or on the phone, she tells me about her day. This formerly reclusive/exclusive woman is now participating in community morning stretches, physical exercise, community walks and field trips. She attends religious service. She enjoys the musical entertainment. She looks forward to playing bingo. I find it amusing that in order to visit, I must first check the Activity Calendar, so I know where to find my mom! I felt compelled to update my review to say the staff is AMAZING! They go out of their way to help with my mom's "crisis." In this case, her hairdresser cancelled due to illness and they found her another appointment and got her there. That is typical of their care and attitude. Very grateful for the wonderful staff at Pacifica! I moved my 89 yr old Mom to Pacifica 6 months ago. I had toured the facility 3 yrs ago. I was impressed that 3 years later most of the staff i met were still there. They are friendly, caring and kind. It is great to call and get a real person to answer questions. The receptionist, Gladys, is always helpful and friendly. The activities director, Lai, has great energy and has gone out of her way to make my Mom feel welcome. The fact that my Mom can walk 2 blocks for a Safeway, pharmacy, BART, church or restaurants is an added bonus.

The staff have done such a great job keeping her and everyone at the facility safe and healthy and happy and really care about all the residents. Even during the recent surge when visiting was restricted, Lai (the fabulous Activities Director) arranged for Mom and I to have regular FaceTime calls so we could stay closely connected. Pacifica took wonderful care of my aunt! On very little notice, my aunt was able to stay at Pacifica for 3 weeks in respite, while she awaited relocating out of town. She had just been released from hospital and couldn’t return home. We were given only a couple of days to find an immediate care facility that could accommodate her. While at Pacifica, she seemed to adapt very quickly and receive excellent attention and care. She appeared very well rested and rejuvenated. She really enjoyed the staff and caretakers. The facility has a very homey atmosphere and was decorated particularly festive for the seasonal holidays. The management and staff at Pacifica were all genuinely caring and pleasant to work with. They were very accommodating and provided transport and accompanied her to a doctor appointment. I highly recommend Pacifica for the facility and their management/staff, based on my aunt’s recent experience.

We recently helped to move my mother to Pacifica Senior Living in SanLeandro. She was already living in a retirement community setting because she has lost her vision and has mobility issues as well. The difference is night and day. They are very attentive to her needs. With supportive staff. When you go in there is a friendly feeling as if you are home. Music playing, people gathered and talking and there are watermelons and tomatoes growing in the resident's accessible garden which is on the front patio. Everything is accessible and comfortable.
