My Grandmother is here and went from a care facility that didnt care for her to one that basically is doing the same thing. The first trip me and my mom went to visit was all shiny lights and smoke and mirrors. Although the gentleman "George", who gave us the tour was great. Once my grandmother arrived it was a uphill battle to get maintenance to help hang pictures in her room she pays 10k a month for. Also they fired George, and all went downhill after that. From the food which is the same menu every week and mostly filipino style food, to when she orders food they forget her order, they used to check on her twice a day now they dont. I was there to visit for a day and no one checked on her. There were multiple times i came to the front door and it was open and no front desk attendant. For it being a new facility over a year old she had a pest problem in her apartment. Whenever she tried to address her concerns to Minnie, minnie would say "its whatever corporate wants". For someone who is up in age and is paying this price the food should be Michelin rated, family shouldnt get charged to have a meal with their loved ones, service should be 5stars. I mean it better be perfect. There is so many things that should be different. Had we known all of this we would of looked elsewhere. Do better Oakmont.

My husband lived in the facility for almost 3 years. The care staff was compassionate and cared for him well. He was always content when we visited. The facility is nice, clean and well kept. I took off a start because during the past years there were too many executive staff changes and management communication was lacking. Much has improved since last Spring, very pleased with the new management.

What a Wonderful World My life began in an old farmhouse without electricity, running water, indoor plumbing, or central heat. Now in my Golden Years I enjoy life in a wonderful Country Club environment known as Oakmont of Silver Creek Assisted Living. My hub is a spacious quiet and bright apartment facing onto a beautifully landscaped quadrangle with trees, shrubs, flowers, and a bubbling Fountain. Paved paths with multiple benches, tables and umbrellas make it easy and delightful to roam and relax in this sunny oasis. I enjoy choosing 3 meals each day. These are served in an open seating dining room with linen tablecloths and napkins. In this classy environment I enjoy a glass of wine, tasty food, and the company of good friends. I do not ever have to do any cooking or wash any dishes. In fact, even my weekly laundry and the cleaning of my room are handled by the friendly staff of Oakmonnt of Silver Creek. It has been along 86 year voyage from that original farmhouse. I feel truly fortunate that my journey has led to Oakmont in San Jose Cailfornia. This is the best place and the right place for me. I most heartily recommend Oakmont of Silver Creek to others who are charting a course for their own Golden Years’

I want to say how AMAZING my trip to Oakmont was. I was visiting my mother. I live 6 hrs away. So I am already feeling guilty that I don't see her enough. So you can imagine how good it feels to see how well she is being cared for. There was live music, beautiful spaces and the food was delicious. But the thing that really warmed my heart was the staff especially the director Holly. She greeted my mother by name and introduced herself to me. After she walked away I said to my mom 'Oh coming by to look good to the family huh? ' Mom said ' No she comes by to say HI frequently'. To know that my mother is being cared for by people who know her and REALLY care. She is very happy there. It helps me sleep knowing she is safe. If you are in need of a senior care facility this is the one and these are the people.

Our mom was place in Oakmont memory care. She did not belong in memory care but that is another situation. She is now back in her home. While it is a very nice place, no odd smell like some places, nice rooms, the care givers seemed very caring. However, management is not caring at all, it’s all about the numbers for them. When you tour this place they tell you all of the activities they have, day trips, how wonderful the meals are, exercising, hair salon and so on. Some are at additional cost. When your loved one is in memory care, the only thing we saw was they had an automated bingo game, once in a while someone would come to play music, and tv. No activities to stimulate any of the residents. Some residents health are worse than others such as dementia. The caregivers do what they are told, I wish for these residents that are there had more interactive stimulation but most just sat in their wheel chair and fell asleep, some craving attention but left sitting there alone. The food was cold and not good at all. Basically for the memory care side they just babysit the residents. My brother and I are relieved she is home, they have 24 hour caregivers that come to their home. My mom was very clear that she did not want to go into any home she wanted to remain in her own home, but her husband placed her there. The Director and Marketing Director of Oakmont pushed my moms husband to put her in. Even suggested to tell her she was going out to lunch, take her to Oakmont then leave her there. Our mom’s dementia isn’t severe she is still very well aware and has normal conversations. This was such a horrible thing to suggest and one my brother and I refused to ever do to her. She was in Oakmont maybe one month and she went down hill fast, where as at home she was herself. I’m sure the assisted living side is much better but please really check into where you are thinking of placing your loved one. Everyone has their own opinions and experiences. I’m glad my brother and I saw her a lot and realized how this place was not for her, we don’t have power of attorney but our persistence I believe paid off so she was finally brought home.

It’s spiffy, elegant, and focus centric to creating cherished memories for their occupants and guests!

My grandmother has lived at Oakmont of Silver Creek for over a year and loves it. She likes the daily activities. She has made great friends there. The staff and care team are all so caring and friendly. She loves when Elizabeth greets her and her friends every morning and calls them ladies of the living room. I so glad she’s happy. In June of 2021, we placed my Sister in the newly opened Oakmont of Silver Creek memory care unit. She has Frontotemporal dementia and was unable to talk or feed herself and was 59 years old. She was the second resident to move in and we were thrilled at the great care she received. But from the opening months, the care declined as the place filled up and the staffing rate never kept up with the incoming residents. Over the first 12 months Oakmont had 7 Executive directors and extreme staffing turnovers in the memory care unit resulting in a decline of daily care. We left Oakmont as my sister who is incontinent was often never checked during the day unless asked. She also has dietary restrictions that were frequently overlooked and inconsistant even though we talked repeatedly to the care staff, directors, the chef and the kitchen staff'. These Doctor prescribed restrictions started in Sept of 2021 and in the last week before she moved out in August 2022 she was still given food she was not supposed to have. Her cpap mask was also frequently disassembled incorrectly so refitting the mask to prevent air leaks was an ongoing issue.. The management lately was not aware nor did they seem to make rounds in the memory care unit. Staff turnover was so high that agency help was called in resulting in un-orientated staff taking care of patients not knowing the names or needs of their patients. They resolved this problem by discontinuing the use of agency personnel but never hired enough permanent caregivers to meet the needs of all the residents. The caregivers were then working double shifts just so there would be 2-3 caregivers per shift. We gave notice to leave in August as concerns were not answered and the staffing ratio at the time was 29 patients to 3 or 4 caregivers. As we left, 2 other families expressed the same issues to us and were looking to relocate their loved ones. The issues we had are not related to the quality or empathy of the caregivers. They are fantastic and work themselves to the bone trying to take care of all the residents. It is the management that will not adequately staff the memory care unit to meet the needs of the residents, overwork the caregivers to the point of burn out and are unable or unwilling to listen to or correct deficiencies when brought to their attention. Oakmont of Silver Creek is a beautiful high end facility charging top dollar for the privilege of caring for our loved ones. If you're looking for independent living in a nice facility with beautiful grounds I would recommend this place but if you or your loved one needs assisted living or especially memory care I would advise looking elsewhere.

Not only is the facility beautiful and wonderfully maintained, but the entire staff is absolutely lovely to work with. I feel so lucky to have my loved one being looked out for by them! Elizabeth, Phillip and Matthew have attended to every need or question that has arisen; Jaime is on top of any and all facilities issues, no matter how big or small, and Mercy and the nursing staff are kind and thoughtful, always. Fatima, Mary, Yasmine and all the folks that work the front concierge desk are always so friendly to guests and residents alike, and always willing to help however they can. I wish I could name everyone here individually, because I have been so impressed with each and every person's kindness and dedication to their work and the residents of the community. I highly recommend Oakmont of Silver Creek!

I have recently moved a family member to the Traditions Memory Care area of Oakmont. And I am very happy with all the staff and the caregivers.This place has been open for less than year and half, and it has been a good fit for our family member. Oakmont also had the most enrichment for dementia residents of the 4 places I toured. Every person I interact with has been professional, respectful, kind .I haven't had any off putting or awkward experiences. It is a nice place for the family to come and visit, clean , beautiful gardens, and a great vibe. Whether it in the Memory Care side or assisted living. This is a very big decision to make for a loved one. Placing them in a new living situation is something that will keep you up at night. But I am glad that I was able to move our family member there,so she could get the care, and enrichment to make this time in her life as full as possible.

Oakmont of Silver Creek is a wonderful environment for my dad who needs assisted living services. His spacious apartment overlooks the beautiful courtyard with its lush bushes and trees including a small putting green in one corner and lounging area in the other. Inside the building he enjoys the dining room with its various menu choices, the activity room, exercise room, and especially the comfortable movie theater. Elizabeth Silva (resident relations director) always has a warm welcoming smile when I visit as well as Yasmine (receptionist). One of my dad's caregivers in particular, Judith, always makes it a happy experience for him, which he adores. Mercy, who provides his medications for him, always lifts his spirits as do the kind housekeepers who give him hugs. I am so thankful for all of the warm-hearted staff at Oakmont. It really does feel like home!

Since we moved in on October 28 I have had tremendous amount of support. My husband has since died and Elizabeth had been very helpful in helping with paperwork. I like the food and the new. Chef Augie is creative. Judith, activity assistant is creative in starting Oakmont News. A monthly newsletter.As President of the resident Council I have the opportunity to work with Judith and find her to be very efficient in what our goals are. I like living here and enjoy welcoming new Residents To Oakmont.

I have interacted with many of the staff at Oakmont of Silver Creek and I can vouch for their genuine good character and willingness to assist with the whole family. They are helpful not only to the residents, but to the resident's family, as well. They take pride in serving their community and it gives me much peace-of-mind knowing that they treat their residents with respect, dignity and importance.

My father has been at Oakmont of Silver Creek for one year. He has had very good care according to his care plan and all the amenities at the residence. The staff is attentive, caring to my father’s needs and wants. The residence is clean, inviting and has an atmosphere is calm. The restaurant is clean, fresh flowers and tables set for all meals. The staff is accommodating when my father has appointments throughout the day. Overall, my family would highly recommend the residence to our family and friends.

The executive director, Jett, has been amazing. He has gone out of his way to accommodate some very difficult changes in my parents status. It has been a difficult time for my family, but Jett has been unbelievably helpful. I highly recommend Oakmont of Silver Creek. They have wonderful meals serviced in their beautiful indoor/outdoor dining. They have head phones for hearing impaired residents so that they too can join in the activities and feel included. Their activities are really good including live instructors in their memory care unit. Thank you for such a great experience.

I toured this brand new community and loved it! Working with the senior population for over a decade, I know how important it is to be able to age in place. This community offers independent, assisted and memory care for their residents, as well as a concierge doctor for the convenience of residents. The rooms and tall ceilings are spacious and the amenities are amazing! They offer multiple dining rooms and lounges, a movie theater, spacious yard, and residents can order from the kitchen all day as they please. Sam and Colleen were my tour guides and I definitely would recommend this community to families who may need their elderly parents be in a safe and beautiful place to age in.
