My husband has been in the skilled nursing / rehab floor at Vi Care Center for five weeks. Under their skilled care and encouragement, he has gained energy and strength and is developing a sense of planning his moves and being safe ( i. e., minimizing the risk of falls). All the staff are professionals and communicate and perform as a team. When i leave (after a daily visit) i know he is watched and well taken care of. Susan P.

SPECTACULAR! Not only is this community beautiful, the team creates a resident experience that is unparalleled, especially when it comes to dining. Executive Chef Gonzalo and his team will WOW you with their culinary delights from around the world. The service that can only be described as true Luxury Living. My husband and I looked at a multitude of retirement communities, on both coasts of the United States. We settled happily on the Vi at La Jolla because of the location, apartments, friendly staff, and especially Kelly Parkins, sales director. She went well beyond the ordinary to accommodate our needs and to help us plan a move across country. Unfortunately, our family situation changed at the last moment, so we will not be joining the residents of the Vi. But a huge thank you to the amazing Kelly for her always prompt replies, her wealth of information, her friendliness, and her tremendous help.

I have been living here for almost a year and a half now, after living in Florida for 65 years. I never thought I would be living in a community like this, but it has been a rewarding experience. The facility is first class and like living in a five star hotel. Lots activities and things to do. This facility is located near UTC mall and the transit center including the trolley which goes to downtown and the Tijuana border. Included here, at the VI, is a gym, salt water swimming pool, movie theater, art gallery, library, valet parking, and many activity rooms. There are four restaurants here including a formal one called 21, a casual one called Arrosti, a fast food lunch venue called The Grill, and The American Bar which offers bar food and cocktails. However, the biggest asset of this community is the people that live here. There are so many interesting people with such a variety of backgrounds, that I continue to meet talented, residents and learn so much. From business CEO's, and Financial people, to published authors, singers and actors, artists, and more. People eat together, and the social life is very alive here. Finally there is a wellness and Care Center which is for assisted living and long term care. This is one of the best of this kind of facilities that I have ever seen. The is no extra charge for using this facility which gives you a great sense of security and knowing that it is located right on premises. Would I move here again, if I was just learning about the VI? There is no doubt, and I am so lucky, that I have chose the VI to be my final residency.

For over a year, I've been living at Vi at La Jolla Village and have found the Staff to be much more than just professional. They are very caring and thoughtful. Also, there are so many activities: exercise classes, special events, lectures, tours, book clubs, plant club, pet club, choir, Happy Hour, art and meditation classes; these are just a few. Best of all are the residents. My journey took me here and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

My mom moved into the Vi at La Jolla Village in September of 2021. She loves it and I love to visit her there. The food is excellent. Her favorite is the Salmon, which she orders 3-4 times per week. There are so many activities. You could run yourself ragged trying to keep up with the selection. There is something for everyone. She attends the Bible study, which is lead by one of the residents, and absolutely loves it. The Vi offers excursions off site and she enjoys exploring all parts of San Diego. The employees know everybody by name, which I find so impressive given the size of the two towers. This is a very well run operation. Employees have worked there for years and seem to love it too. I feel confident that my mother is well taken care of and assistance, should she ever need it, is just outside her door of her 2 bedroom 2 bathroom 1842 sq foot apartment. We looked at 5 retirement communities. This was the nicest and had the largest floorpans.

As a representative for Freshpoint Produce I have exposure to many retirement communities throughout Southern California. With this being said there is no other community that puts so much thought into the dining options and service that VI at La Jolla Village does for their residents. Chef Gonzalo and his culinary team only use the best from farmers market produce items to prime cuts of beef and seafood they are at a level like no other. Obviously I am only able to give an honest review on the dining portion of their service. But, based on the care and planning taken on this I can assure you VI at La Jolla Village is the ideal amenity filled location to spend your retirement years. I have some time before I get to retire but when I do I hope you have an opening 🙂

We recently moved to the Vi at La Jolla Village.Our plan was to move to a place with good weather, access to good healthcare, and a walkable neighborhood.We found all that and more at the Vi.We found friendly, vibrant people, lectures, classes, holiday celebrations, a full fitness program, pool, spa, and libraries. Our apartment is filled with light. We have no worries about maintenance or repairs and enjoy weekly housekeeping service.The dining venues offer well prepared menu choices to satisfy varied tastes and diets. The Wellness Center is staffed 24/7 so any unexpected emergency can be promptly addressed. The Care Center can provide post-op care or post- discharge care. Should the need arise, Assisted Living and Memory Care are available in the Care Center. We are very happy that we moved to the Vi. It is a safe, caring and joyful environment.

My grandma has lived there for a long time and speaking on behalf of her its amazing. The beach is very close bye, you get a great view, so many restaurants and sights and stuff nearby. I also love how clean and in shape the place is. Its very well taken care of and has so much essentials in the actual building. Not to mention the mall nearby. I love how everything is in walking distance and the Vi is very comforting to come back to after a long day. My grandma has a house in Needles California that is her home, but she spends so much of her time here at the Vi and she loves it so much. They should take great pride in their work with this place, because I love visiting her here

I worked at Vi for many years and I still miss the family of residents and staff there. I am writing this review because I recently helped a family friend research retirement communities and it made me realize how unique the Vi experience is. Many of the staff members have been there for years and their dedication is unwavering. I am still in touch residents and staff that I became friends with for life! Seeing the pictures from this Covid year is very moving. The staff and residents are so creative and motivated to keep each other in good spirits through this mess of a year! I would like to share my honest opinion and tell you how The Vi shaped my career and life perspective. What a wonderful place to work it is! While I worked there I felt appreciated by my co workers and by wonderful Residents who became my second family. I started as a part time employee and soon became a full time and I also had an opportunity to be part of Management Development Program - one of many perks offered to everyone really interested in growth of their career. There are so many attractive benefits offered to their employees: health benefits, retirement, scholarships, employees fund bonuses and many more providing help and support and even entertaining. Now, few years later after I accepted an attractive offer from other company that helped me work around my sons school schedule - I still remain as a part time employee at Vi and I am very honored to be part of such an fantastic team. I come to work and have an honor to serve such a Beautiful and Valuable Generation. There is also so much to learn from the Residents that make you feel like home and can share their wisdom and success life stories. Sindy and I have lived at the Vi for 6 years. These have been some of the happiest years in our lives. We chose San Diego for family and weather reasons. We chose Vi because of thestrength of its parent company, the life care plan, and exceptional location.(20 minutes from beaches, downtown, the airport, most of the theaters, 5 minutes from three world class hospitals) The buildings and the care center are attractive, as are the amenities: a heated pool, private gym, billiards room, 2 libraries, etc.But the most important qualities were known only after we were residents.Consistently high quality food, professional, friendly staff at all levelsintelligent, responsive management. And, best of all, our neighbors are some of thest people we have ever met. Rich backgrounds from many fields, interesting, and open to nefriendships. We have enhanced our experience by taking advantage of the many opportunities for community participation.

We have lived here almost 11 years. Vi has been in very strict lockdown since March, and has been very good in enforcing the various state, local and community protocols. Management has actively provided lots of different activities to keep us busy, including virtual wine tasting via Zoom. The kitchen delivered the selection of wines to be tasted to our apartment door, including a wonderful selection of cheeses and fruit. What more can one ask?

I have been to Vi at La Jolla Village several times over the past several years and it is a beautiful place. The communal areas have high ceilings, tons of light, and are architecturally impressive. When Ive eaten at the café there the food is very good and the service is excellent. The apartments Ive seen are elegant and I would be glad to live there (when the time comes) or for my parents to live there. I know that people who live at Vi have access to the highest quality of everything they need and virtually all of the things that they want – and the staff and service are excellent.

The daily schedule of events provided something for everyone. She loved the food, the amenities, and the staff. Vi is a great community for retired seniors. Well planned, with a great variety of amenities in different levels of the arts and international cuisine. All this back up by professional and personable personnel, keeping the residents well informed and safe. There is no place I would rather be, especially during this pandemic. I have food delivered to my door, creative ways to interact with other residents, while being socially distant and people around that care about my health and well being. Vi at La Jolla Village has been my home for 10 years. Every day of those 10 years I have been grateful that I chose to live here Not only do I live in beautiful surroundings, I live conveniently located to everything that is important to me including medical facilities, shopping, and entertainment. We have a caring staff who go out of their way to be helpful. We have an abundance of choices of things to do such as exercise, art, and technology classes, lectures, movies, book clubs, music programs, and so on. We have multiple choices for dining and menus that accommodate a variety of palettes. We have the assurance that when we need a higher level of care such as assisted living or memory support, it is available. Having benefitted from our skilled nursing unit personally, I can attest to the excellent care I received there after surgery. Best of all, the 500+ residents who live here are among the most interesting, accomplished, caring people I have ever met. I feel privileged to live among them.

I am a prior employee of Vi at La Jolla Village. Although they tried very hard to accommodate all of my needs during COVID, I left for a position that more closely met my scheduling needs. Vi really was a great place to work. The management is very supportive and understanding. They did a really good job of keeping everyone safe while I was there. I really miss the residents there as well, there are so many fantastic people living there. I have worked at a lot of nursing homes in the area as an agency nurse. The Vi is the top of the line and the place I would recommend to my family if they were in the area and needed care.

As a vendor at the VI for over 17 years and renovating over 100 units. I can personally say it is a wonderful place to live and to do business with! The staff takes amazing care of their residents, family members are happy their loved ones are there, and management does a great job at keeping the community in order. Also, last week we witnessed the most touching part of living there. Residents have been on lockdown for a couple of weeks and have been advised to self quarantine in their apartments. To cheer them up, the employees started a daily rally where they ask residents to come out on their balconies to sing and dance with them. It was and continues to be beautiful to witness in person. It isnt just a place to live. It really is a community in which you make new friends, have tons of daily activities, are taken care of, and truly cared for by the incredible staff.

My husband and I have been living at Vi at La Jolla Village for almost 3 years and we are extremely happy here. First, the community of people is fabulous. You could never find a nicer, more caring group of individuals anywhere. Since there are two towers, we are always meeting people as we go up and down together in the elevators. We have made wonderful friends. Second, the meals usually served in your choice of two dining rooms are wonderful. There is a large choice of items and they are served by professionally trained smiling people. Dining in the dining rooms provides a terrific way to socialize with the other residents. Third, the fitness area and the programming to help us all stay healthy is well thought out and popular. We love the heated (86 degree) pool and hot tub available 24 hours a day. The fitness center has state of the art equipment and training is provided on the use of the equipment. Fourth, there are so many programs of all types that it is possible to never leave the building. There are lectures, dance parties, discussion groups, holiday celebrations, bingo, movies, day after day! Our calendar is full all the time!Fifth, Vi provides maid service weekly and valet parking is available 24 hours. There is no tipping for the valet and all you need to do it call down to them and your car will be waiting for you! Twice a year we are all asked to give to the fund that gives tips to all the employees It is a small amount to pay for all of the services that we are provided with month after month. We are so happy that we moved to the Vi. It was one of the best decisions we ever made.

I will have lived at the Vi for two years this June. Everyone is so kind and helpful. I have enjoyed the various exercise classes. I also have participated in both book clubs. This year Im on the Welcoming Committee and the Library Committee. Right now Im writing this review in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis. Every employee is making sure that we all are safe and healthy. We have daily waves from our balconies. I appreciate all the various departments at the VI for making sure we are okay. I wasnt sure I wanted to live in a high rise but I love it and the Valet Crew is fantastic. Keep up the fantastic work.

I work for Dowling Construction and we do renovations and improvements at Vi Living in La Jolla. The staff and residents are very accommodating in helping us coordinate our work in the common areas, restaurants, gyms, dance rooms, and Care Center. The interaction I see between staff and residents is always positive and friendly. When attending weekly meetings for various projects, Ive been able to see many of the activities offered for the residents including shopping trips, crafts, exercise classes and even dance classes. My mom and dad moved into the Vi community 2 years ago and it has been a wonderful experience. My dad was in the care center until he passed, and the staff was always kind, caring and professional with him despite his sometimes difficult demeanor. Mom has continued to live in the active living portion of the community and has enjoyed the friendships made, the activities that abound and the quality of life she enjoys. Even with the current pandemic situation, the staff continues to be helpful and caring, making sure everyones needs are met and exceeded. This gives me peace of mind that my mom is well taken care of and thriving, especially when I cant visit her. I only wish that my parents had moved in sooner, when dad was in better shape to have enjoyed all this community has to offer.
