Looks fine on the outside but the quality of care is truly concerning. The communication was very shady and inconsistent. The nurses expressed overwhelm and frustration with their patient load to the point of taking it out on their patients. I once saw the residents in this facility crowd the kitchen area as soon as the dinnertime cart was delivered and some started clawing at the counter to get food. Right after, a nurse said to me that she doesn't think the facility feeds their residents enough. As soon as my relative recieved her scoops of food she began to eat without stopping, yet the facilities reporting that she struggled to eat. My relative also developed fighting behaviors at changing time after staying here. Lastly, the activity schedule is misleading. When I asked what activities my relative was participating in to make sure she was doing things she enjoyed, no one could tell me. Instead they shared that the activity coordinators drop in at random to pick up certain guests, and I should just look at the calendar for a vague idea of what they offer.

My father spent his final years living at The Cottages at Riverside. While this was a difficult time for the entire family, I am so glad we chose The Cottages for his home. We selected this facility because the staff seemed competent and caring, the cottage setting allowed residents safety and security with freedom of movement indoors and outdoors, and the cost was within our budget. As I got to know the management and staff, I became more and more happy with our choice. In the end, it's the people that care for the residents that really matters. The people at The Cottages were wonderful: competent, caring, kind, respectful, proactive, gentle, patient, and easy to work with. I highly recommend visiting The Cottages at Riverside if your loved one needs a memory care home.

My mom has been at The Cottages Riverside since mid December and I could not be happier with her care. The facility is well cared for and each cottage has a small homey feel. The staff are very good with the residents and they've gotten Mom to participate in activities where she virtually never did at her prior living situation. The communication when there is an issue is excellent I am very happy with our decision to move Mom into the Cottages at Riverside

Julie and the ladies in the office are all fantastic people, very helpful and understanding with getting my sister placed. She had a little trouble at first but she has adapted well and we come visit her almost every day! They get good food, have all kinds of activities for the residents to participate in, have monthly dinner parties for the families to come spend time with them. And they can even have pets! A great all-around place for people with memory issues.

We were invited to a Hawaiian event at The Cottages at Jurupa and it was excellent. The staff is the best and thank you Julie for inviting my mother and I to join in. I cannot thank this facility enough for taking such good care of our hospice patients. . The medical team is professional and responsive, and the caregivers treat residents with respect and kindness. Meals are nutritious and well-balanced, and they even accommodate dietary restrictions without hesitation. My father in law is at Riverside Memory Care facility and it’s great for him. Many activities they have, a well structured routine for his meals and diabetics needs and they always keep the facility clean. It’s nice that once a month they have family events which we all come and have lovely meals and participate in the activities. The staff are very friendly and understand the patients care that they need. They even have a nurse, doctor and hair dresser that visits the facility regularly. A very good care home for our seniors.

My dad has been residing at Riverside Memory Care since end of August 2024. He arrived there in a state, directly from the emergency room. They prepared for his transportation to the care home, and suggested giving him a few weeks to settle in before coming to visit. It took a while but with encouragement they had him participating in the activities. His new doctor associated with the care home, sends a nurse every week to check on the residents, and is available to them as needed. Majority of the time now he is stable, he has his moments, but they manage to calm him down. I visit my dad weekly and spend time in the cottages with him; and the other residents have gotten to know me, each of them is happy with where they are and the building is kept clean. The outside is maintained well. Recently they have started new activities such as candle making, and karaoke and gentlemen’s club. You could tell the residents enjoy the activities. I have participated as well and have a lot of fun as well. I would suggest when an activity is delayed or is cancelled last minute, an alternate should be put in place, such as balloon toss, that they can pull out of the game’s cupboard. They have also taken the residents on bus rides, which my dad really enjoys. Each month they have family events, which is good time to spend with loved ones and see some of the other family members. Most times the events are held on Thursdays. But the family event that they most fun was Bingo night with refreshments.

We came in with empty stomachs and left with full hearts... and full laps (and possibly an extra 30 pounds between the two of us). We can’t stop smiling”or unbuttoning our pants! Every part of the celebration was joyful, thoughtful, and so wonderfully over-the-top in the best way. You’ve created a place where fun and warmth are just as important as care”and it shows. Staff may come and go, but your leadership is the steady heartbeat of Riverside. You lead with compassion, and great care and your team reflects that in everything they do. Now let’s talk about the real MVP: Brianna. That girl doesn’t cook”she performs culinary miracles. The chicken? Legendary. The vegetables? Vibrant. The salads? Crisp. And the desserts? Dangerous. At one point we looked down and realized we were wearing most of our meal. Honestly, we could’ve taken home leftovers just from what landed in our laps! And just when we thought it couldn’t get better”bam! Coconut cream pie. Marcelle lit up like a Christmas tree (or should I say an Easter egg?). Then came chocolate fudge bars, ice cream sandwiches, and yes, apple pie. I told Marcelle, You’re allowed one bite, and somehow I ended up heroically finishing the rest. A true act of service, really. The music was pure joy. The man on the mic had us swaying, smiling, and singing”well, humming”along to the 60s and 70s hits. Luz was out there gathering everyone like the Pied Piper of Dance, and one resident even challenged me: If you dance, I’ll dance. Marcelle was so touched she got a little teary. If not for her wheelchair, I’m pretty sure she’d have been doing the twist. And your new Activities Director, Pricilla? She clearly gets it. She’s carrying the torch of joy and tradition beautifully. Eva, thank you for creating a space that feels like home”one filled with kindness, laughter, music, dancing, pie, and love. You and your team don’t just care for the residents”you celebrate them. And in doing so, you give families like ours peace of mind and priceless memories. And yes, I will keep talking about Brianna until she gets her own Food Network show. But the truth is, every single person on your team deserves applause. At the end of the night, I told the staff I was heading home... but probably needed a shower first. Covered in food, overflowing with joy”it was the perfect day. Thank you for being the heart behind it all. Above and beyond all expectations! This staff cares so much and are so friendly. You can tell how they all like their jobs as well as support each other. Their #1 priority is the health and mental well being of all the residents. The personal care and attention my mom got as well what I got was far greater than expected. The staff provided excellent communication. All the fun activities were so great. My mom loved the food and the companionship. When my mom was at home she was alone, in bed all the time, and depressed. When she came here, new life was breathed into here. It was like she was becoming her old self again. She was happy, active, eating well, clean, and having fun. When my mom passed, the staff was just as sad as we were to lose her. They developed a personal loving relationship with her. I’m so comforted to know that she died here with dignity and love surrounding her. I highly recommend Pacifica in Jarupa. I noticed a 1 star comment about Pacifica not putting their mother in a shared room and charging a single room rate. This did NOT happen to my mother. In fact she started in a single room because they did not have a shared room available, but they only charged the shared room rate. There was NEVER an issue about charging. In fact, I visited several memory care facilities (8 of them) and Pacifica was not only the most reasonable rate, but we thought was the best overall. Please go visit for yourself. I also did auto deduction and had no issues with it. It charged like clockwork on the same day every month. It was a blessing to find Pacifica. My mom had been to 3 different locations prior, none was a fit to her personality. The reason I felt Pacifica was better was because they have separate cabins (15 persons to a cabin) for different types of personalities, 6 cabins total. The cabins range from mild mannered to aggressive. My mom happened to be on the mild mannered side. The staff in her cabin was outstanding. They treated all the guess that reside there like family. My belief this was due to staff retention. Most assisted living facilities have a high turnover rate. The staff in my mom's cabin had approximately 10 or more years of employment at that same facility. When my mom passed away they wept along side of my family. I know family can't be at a care facility 24/7 but I was there at lease 5 days a week at all different times and I never observed any misbehavior period. I would recommend Pacifica to any of my family and yours. In fact I told my wife if I should need to go to a care facility send me to Pacifica or a place just like it.

When we first moved mom in, they did not have a shared companion room, but allowed her to stay in a private room until hers was ready, for no extra charge. We are so thankful to have found them at a time when she really needed extra care that we could not provide at home. They have great care and staff! I will always recommend them!
