My mother recently moved to the Kensington from a different LA-area memory care, giving me the opportunity to understand firsthand the differences between programs and appreciate all that Kensington gets right. Unlike other facilities that feel sterile or clinical, Kensington feels like a well-appointed and comfortable home. The staff are highly skilled, personable and genuinely caring. They connect authentically with the residents, and are unfazed by challenging behaviors, ready to partner with families to find solutions. The on-site and visiting medical staff is a huge advantage that can respond competently and quickly to situations that arise. All of these together are a winning combination. I’m incredibly grateful for the care my mother receives at Kensington and cannot recommend it highly enough.

I've had the opportunity to visit many senior living communities throughout Southern California, and The Kensington Redondo Beach truly stands out. From the moment you walk through the doors, the atmosphere feels warm, welcoming, and vibrant. The community is exceptionally clean, odorless, and beautifully maintained. It has an energy that makes you want to pour a coffee, enjoy the zen, and relax a while. Unlike traditional living facilities, the Kensington gives off luxury hotel vibes. What impressed me most was the friendliness of the staff and the genuine care they show toward residents and visitors alike. Every interaction I've had has been positive, professional, and welcoming. As a strength & balance coach who works with older adults throughout the South Bay, I appreciate facilities that prioritize not only care, but also dignity, comfort, and quality of life. The Kensington Redondo Beach does an outstanding job of creating that environment. Jason Dolby, Aging Empowered

Please provide Tresse Hines a different room. She has no great view. The room is also super small. She most likely needs something on the second floor overlooking a nice view like the original room that she had please make this happen as I can see she is not happy in the new room.

The The Kensington Redondo Beach truly stands out as the premier Independent, Assisted Living and Memory Care community in the area. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the difference, the warm welcome from the concierge, the positive energy, and the genuine care from the entire team create an environment that immediately feels like home. What really sets this community apart is the strength of their clinical team. Fiona McMahon, LVN “ Wellness Nurse Supervisor, Valentina Nikolova, LVN “ Wellness Nurse, Janie Acosta, RN “ Director of Nursing, and Keith Serle “ Haven Manager are all exceptional. Their compassion, professionalism, and clinical expertise are evident in every interaction. You can tell they truly care about each resident and go above and beyond to ensure the highest level of care. The Kensington also has a stellar reputation for a reason. Their culinary program is outstanding, and the activities are truly gold standard which are engaging, thoughtful, and designed to enrich residents’ daily lives. If you’re looking for a community that combines clinical excellence with heart, hospitality, and a vibrant lifestyle, The Kensington Redondo Beach is an easy choice. Highly recommend!

This Kensington has been wonderful to our mom. We looked at several great options in the area and knew very quickly that The Kensington was the best option for her needs. She's happy, healthy, and has adjusted well to life at The Kensington. The Kensington staff is wonderful and keeps the residents engaged with frequent activities and events. The grounds have been recently renovated and are beautiful. Highly recommend a visit if you are considering an option like The Kensington.

Our family commends the entire Kensington staff for providing a wonderful home for our dad! Good food, wine, live music and daily exercise are a must for dad. Kensington definitely meets those needs! Dad requires frequent assistance. When he calls for help, a caregiver or nurse is in his room within five minutes or less. Not only are they quick to respond, but dad consistently tells us they show kindness, patience and compassion. Our family also observes that when any staff member interacts with other residents. Kensington strongly encourages family and friends to visit and dine with their loved ones. We greatly appreciate that because sometimes it is difficult for dad to leave the facility. Directors and other staff members always make our dad's family and friends feel welcome. Thank you, Kensington!

Moved my dad to Kensington Redondo in August after 4 years at Oakmont Torrance. What a step up! The people are great. Turnover is low, so they know their jobs and their residents. And seem to actually care about the residents. Food is also a huge improvement versus Oakmont, as is the entire dining experience. And daily Happy Hour is a real plus - something the residents really seem to enjoy and look forward to. It is more expensive, but it’s worth it. I no longer feel like we are nickel-and-dimed as I did at Oakmont.

When looking for a place for my mom, safety was number 1! Where can my mom live where she will be safe, happy, surrounded by happy people who genuinely care of her. The Kensington ticks all the boxes i knew about and some i hadnt considered. My anxiety level hit an all time low after we got her in. I honestly cant say enough good things. I love the staff, i love that i can eat meals with her, and did i say i love the staff? Im never in the dark with her medical care, they always keep me informed. The Kensington is a 10 out of 10!!!!

After extensive research on assisted living facilities in the area, we settled on the Kensington. It’s now been three months since my mother moved in and we couldn’t be more satisfied. The staff is caring, attentive and accommodative. The food is excellent. The grounds are pleasant and well maintained. And there are plenty of activities to keep residents engaged and socialized. It’s a well-run organization that has exceeded our expectations.

My parent(s) were/are at this great Sr. Living facility. I say this because my father passed there but mom is still a resident. The care that the staff embodied to my parents was/is incredible. Everyone is so personable and knows their job. The dining facility and food preparation is out of this world. The special events for the residents and their family is second to none. There is no detailed spared. Additionally, they have medical staff on site which is very comforting for families. I would highly recommend Kensington RB to anyone looking to place their loved one.

Our Mom moved into Assisted Living at the Kensington 2 1/2 years ago because it became too difficult for her to manage alone at home. We couldn't be happier with our choice! The staff is incredibly attentive to every detail. For example, they bring her a cup of her beloved coffee without being asked at the daily(!) musical happy hour. They evaluate Mom regularly and keep us informed of changes. We can easily consult with the responsive on-site nursing or physical therapy staff if we have any questions. They are kind, caring and supportive and look after Mom like family, because they know her so well. They welcome us like family too! We often schedule to join Mom for a meal when we visit. The food is excellent with a new menu daily, though as vegetarians/pescatarians, we'd love a few more options 😉 . They are good about accommodating special requests, though. Mom is out of her room a lot “ there are people to see and things to do. She's found her "crew" whom she eats with daily, which means we no longer worry about her being lonely. The environment is immaculate and tasteful, with indoor and outdoor public areas that are a pleasure to hang out in. I would recommend the Kensington without hesitation.

The Kensington Redondo Beach, a beautiful Assisted Living/Memory Care community just two blocks from the Pacific Ocean, provides exceptional care to residents. We have watched as our mother has quickly regained her strength, largely due to the positive, proactive, highly professional and caring atmosphere at the Kensington. Staff members genuinely know the residents (and their families) and their needs. One of the many unique strengths of the Kensington is that RNs, LVNs, 1-1 aides, and PT/OT are all on-site 24/7. We know our mother is safe, and a nurse is always readily available should she need the care, night or day. Besides the elegant living spaces, dining halls, libraries, art room, and other nicely appointed meeting areas, the Kensington has excellent, freshly made meals. Our mother is a discerning cook, and she attests daily to the deliciousness of the healthy meals there. Live music is provided daily for the very popular Happy Hour, which also attracts guests of residents. In addition, the activities are unparalleled and include outings, lectures, art classes, exercise classes, discussion groups, as well as regular walks to the beach, among many other activities that continue to the evening on a daily basis. We also commend the excellent administrative staff that supported the family as we transitioned our mom to the Assisted Living community. They provided detailed instructions regarding the move. We appreciated the fact that upon inquiring about a tour, Kelly sent us detailed descriptions of the living spaces available as well as costs for the different levels of care. The Kensington is transparent about costs, and the team works with the resident and family members to evaluate and assess levels of care. They are also willing to re-evaluate in a timely manner so that residents are getting the appropriate level of care they need. We thank the staff at Kensington for supporting our mother in creating her new home in a very dignified manner in this phase of her life.

Over a year ago, my mom transitioned from in-home caregivers to the Kensington. As I was moving overseas, finding the right place for her was essential. The Kensington exceeded all expectations. We evaluated many locations in Southern California and even in Nevada, but the Kensington Redondo Beach was her obvious choice for its beautiful yet casual decor and homelike comfort, its flexibility with doctor appointment transport, diverse food and beverage options, and its genuinely caring staff. The Kensington went above and beyond to accommodate an early move-in. They encourage family engagement at the facility, be it for meals, celebrating milestones, or just making it easy to stop by. The staff is always accessible from the Executive Director on down, and when I visit, they stop by to talk and check in. My mom loves the many special events to Kensington holds for residents be it bring in Irish dancers for Saint Patrick's Day, a bubble blowing concert or having their own, age and mobility appropriate Olympics. Daily happy hours with entertainment too! The Kensington helps her with her whole life. Her care team helps with her plants, which are very important to her, her tech and takes pictures for her to send me and her friends. The fact her caregiving team cares about her - and not just provides care - is evident in all the little things they do for her. Billing - what could be more scary? But not here. The Kensington gets A+ on being transparent, thoughtful and fair in their Level of Care evaluations and billing. When my mom had a serious health issue and needed a lot more temporary care, her care level went up, with appropriate notice and discussion with the care team and me. As she got better, the Kensington lowered her care level back down. Easy. There have been no nickeling and diming on ad hoc occasional extras. In a day when everything seems to be sold ala cart and what goes up doesn't seem to come down, the Kensington will do right by you. Even though I am now 5600 miles away from my mom, I have no concerns - she is being well cared for, and she is happy. She couldn’t have chosen better place to be.

My father arrived in February at the Kensington after breaking his femur at Thanksgiving at my home. He rehapped after surgery at 2 different places for 2 months and was starting to really fail. After 2 months at the Kensington, he not only is up and walking again after being bedridden practically, he’s made great friends in the community, loves his caregivers and loves the environment! The activities great and the dining room reminds me of a country club setting. He’s about to turn 89 and has decided the Kensington is his home now. His transformation has been incredible and we are so grateful to Robert and his fantastic staff. Every person who works there is special and cares for residents like they are family. We feel incredibly lucky to have found the Kensington!

We are beyond grateful for the Kensington in Redondo Beach and their K Club Memory Care program, lead by Susan Stetson. Since our Mom joined the K Club, her life has been filled with renewed purpose, joy, and connection. Every morning, she wakes up excited to get dressed and start her day with the K Club. The structure of the program, the variety of enriching activities, and thoughtful outings to local libraries and museums have given her a beautiful rhythm to her days. It's been heartwarming to watch her engage with others, stay mentally active, and truly enjoy life. Caring for a parent with Dementia is an emotional journey, but knowing Mom is in the K Club and with the team and Susan's capable and compassionate hands gives our entire family peace of mind. Susan brings an incredible energy and joy to the program. Her dedication, warmth, and ability to create stimulating and supportive experiences for each individual truly shines through. The K Club has been a transformative part of Mom's cognitive journey and we can't thank Susan and the K Club team enough for the impact they've had. We highly recommend the Kensington and the K Club to any family navigating memory care -it's a true gift.

I'm not certain I can put into words how grateful my family and I are for all of the love, support and incredible care that our father has received from the Kensington Redondo Beach Team. Although he has only been a resident for two short months, he is proud to call this place his home and is thriving, both physically and mentally. Between the beautiful property & rooms / the amazing Mgnt Team / Doctors, Nurses, Care Givers, PT / the incredible activities (Art / Daily Music & HH's / Excursions / Movies / Physical Therapy / the list goes on and on) this is a place where loved ones and families feel can feel a sense of happiness, comfort and peace. Not to mention, it's fun!! My family and I love visiting, as do our friends. I would give Kensington Redondo Beach 10 Stars if I could! A huge thank you to the whole team for all that you do!!! We moved my parents into The Kensington Redondo Beach six months ago. Crystal and Kelly helped me throughout the move-in process and gave me great advice including emotional support as this transition can be difficult. The staff including nursing, care partners, dining, concierge, activities and management work extremely hard to care for my mom and they all know her by name. I have NEVER heard anyone say "that's not my job". If a resident has a question or request, they don't hesitate to help regardless of their position. Their focus and charter is not just keeping my mom healthy and physically comfortable but interacting with her and making her feel special and cared for. My mom is also in The Kensington Club in assisted living which focuses on brain activities and I’ve noticed improvements in her cognitive abilities. The concierge is extremely helpful in directing my mom and answering her questions while juggling multiple tasks! I’m so grateful for the staff who show a genuine concern for her and care for her like their own family but with much more experience and wisdom on solving the issues of the aged.

My father has been at the Kensington for four years now, and we just celebrated is 101st birthday. Though still very sharp mentally, his physical abilities have declined dramatically over this time. We feel so fortunate to have the Kensington as a partner as he lives out his remaining years. We are grateful in particular for the excellence of the staff, at both the physical and emotional aspects of his care as he’s now totally dependent on them for his most basic needs. He’s made some true friends here among the staff, and so have we. The Kensington is hitting a home run with their staff vetting and recruiting process. Beyond the staff, the amenities are fantastic. They go the extra mile to make him, and us his children, comfortable. Things like being generous with the transportation they provide for appointments and our ability to simply enjoy a meal with him in the dining room (or outdoors by the beautiful outdoor fireplace) go a long way. We also appreciate the daily events, including live music almost every day at 4pm “ with really talented performers! In terms of cleanliness, they keep the place, and his room, immaculate. If it’s not clear already, I highly recommend the Kensington “ we wouldn’t want him at any other facility.

My mom has been a Kensington resident for just over a year. She's in her early 90's and while once sharp as the sharpest tack, is suffering with dementia. There are so many things to really love and appreciate about The Kensington. Robert May, the Executive Director, is uniquely qualified for his role and a very caring and engaging individual. Every single staff member appears to be truly caring. They know my mother's peculiarities (hot coffee with ice cubes to cool it down, a blanket because she's always cold, the list goes on) and deals with them, cheerfully. In addition to staff, a beautiful facility and food that is SO good it's how The Kensington stratifies memory care that I find critically important. Most facilities seem to have AL (Assisted Living) and Memory Care. A resident is in one or the other, but not all dementia patients need the same level of care. The K-Club, created to support those who have some memory issues, is a wonderful program and emblematic of their approach. Mom is a K-Club member and I know she has great care and appropriate activities. Susan Stetson, who runs K-Club, is devoted to her residents and the program. I know she has my mother's best interests at heart and is sincerely appreciated. In addition to the K-Club, there are I believe three levels of memory care at The Kensington, as well as Assisted Living. Caring for a beloved aging parent who is dealing with issues is a gut-wrenching, emotional experience. Knowing my mom is so well cared for at The Kensington eases each and every day.

My Mom has been at Kensington since December of 2022. We moved her from another residence so that she would receive better care. Mom’s dementia has progressed over the past few years. She is still independent but can get confused. Our criteria when looking for another assisted living residence for Mom was to find a place where she felt secure and respected, and we felt someone was really checking in on her and was willing to work with us as a team to manage her care. The move to Kensington has been the BEST decision we have made for our family. The quality and standard of care at Kensington has given us the secure peace of mind that we all needed, including my Mom. She is confident that someone will be there to help her if she needs it. She is not intimidated or afraid to ask for any help. We know that Mom is in an environment where she is well cared for, respected and seen. I say seen because Mom is treated respectfully (even if she is cranky), cheerfully greeted and acknowledged by every Administrator and staff member including the dining, maintenance and cleaning staff. We feel like she and we are treated like family. We enjoy coming to visit Mom in her beautiful home. There are always drinks and snacks openly available for visitors. I recall Robert May saying that when you would go to visit Grandma at her home, she always offered you something to eat or drink. So why shouldn’t it be the same here at Kensington which is her home now. While this may seem like a small gesture, it shows the welcoming philosophy that prevails here. All the Administrators and Staff Members are very professional and extremely responsive to our questions, concerns and requests. I have been contacted by Robert and Zamira on their days off such that we always feel supported that they are there for whatever help we need. Robert is a hands-on Executive Director. He is compassionate, approachable and very involved. He sets the bar high for what he expects from everyone, and we truly appreciate this. The medical staff are caring RNs and LVNs. A new level of care, K Club, just opened for those with dementia who are not quite ready for memory care and where assisted living is too big. We are grateful for their foresight. Mom is right at this stage and now she has a schedule of memory stabilizing activities with others at her level. Susan, the K Club coordinator is so patient, kind and thoughtful. We know Mom has direction on the days she is in K Club. After K Club Mom loves the daily, yes, daily live entertainment during happy hour. With Mom at Kensington, we know we have done the absolute best for her. We highly recommend Kensington Redondo Beach for your loved ones. It is worth every penny!

Since my wife Cheryl moved into The Kensington last August, I had been visiting with her as often as possible, but every time was followed by a sad drive back to our home and then experiencing the loneliness of a deathly silent house. The day came three months ago when I could stand it no longer. I upgraded her residence to a private room and signed myself into The Kensington as a non-care-needing second resident. It was a life-changing move for me. I could come and go as I pleased and I could stay overnight with her. I soon found myself staying over more and more often. Now, I have moved in with her and am living at The Kensington. It was one of the best things I have done since Cheryl's struggle with Alzheimer's first began. One of the reasons that I mention this is that living here has put me in a position to observe all facets of The K's operation, including Cheryl's personal care, the impressive consistent caring quality of the staff members at every level, the close attention the nursing staff members pay to the residents, the full range of activities provided to the residents, the quality of the food service department, and the hospitality that The K extends to loved ones who come to see Cheryl and me. There is no question that The K is expensive, but I have found it consistently to be worth every penny. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~` The Kensington-Redondo Beach just recently demonstrated to me again why it is a first-class assisted living and memory care residence. We were celebrating Mother's Day at our daughter's home when my wife Cheryl suffered a fall. The result was that she both dislocated her shoulder and broke her humerus. She required some extensive surgery to get her put back together. When she was finally discharged from the hospital, I was concerned about how I would transport her back to the Kensington. Obviously, I was completely rattled. The Kensington sent its van equipped to safely transport wheelchair bound residents back from the hospital to the Kensington. I was immensely grateful. The next instance was even more remarkable to me. Cheryl dearly loves going to church on Sundays. The Kensington provided its van again to take us to the church and then came back at the end of the service to take us back to the residence. Even more striking to me, however, is this last example: I had fallen ill on the day that Cheryl was to have her first surgical follow-up appointment with our family doctor. The Kensington not only arranged for the van to take her to the doctor's office and bring her back, but sent one of its care team members to accompany her to the appointment, take down all the relevant information and instruction from our doctor, and then report it all to me when they returned to the Kensington. The Kensington's concern and support and staff are all first-class, and I cannot recommend them more highly. My son and daughter and I explored and examined seven different memory care residences when we were looking for a place that would give Cheryl the level of care that we wanted for her. The Kensington, to us, was head and shoulders above the others we looked at - and it has repeatedly proven why.

Kensington is one of the best choices we made in the long term care of my mother. They have been professional, helpful, caring, and insightful. My only regret is not getting my mom there sooner! She's having the time of her life! Really appreciate the help of the concierge ladies, Zumira, Tiffany, Makenna, Maleni, Kelly, and Amy!

Everything about The Kensington exceeds my expectations. As is often the case, I was in the midst of heart wrenching circumstances when I first toured the community. The property, apartments, public areas, outdoor spaces, services, and activities are all on par with the Four Seasons. But more importantly, every single staff member from the top down is warm, compassionate, professional, and dedicated to creating a comforting transition from independence to assisted living. In a very short time, my mom, as well as our entire family feels at home. I can say enough how impressed and grateful we are to have found The Kensington. This is elder care at its finest.

My mother and father moved into the Kensington recently after living at New Horizons in Torrance for close to ten years. Both are in their 90’s and, as you can imagine, moves like these aren’t easy. After many years of preparing for the day they would require assisted living, I chose The Kensington. I did a few years’ worth of research and ultimately it was very clear to me that The Kensington has no real competition. Moving in couldn’t have been easier and the staff went out of their way to be incredibly helpful. Once in, the real test was whether The Kensington was all it had been hyped up to be. This is where I get a little choked up. Robert May’s staff at The Kensington might be the finest group of people I have ever met. In the few months that my mother and father have lived there, I’ve met dozens of staffers and every one of them are filled with an energy that is equal parts love, compassion, hardworking, and authenticity. It’s very clear that the training provided to the Kensington staff is top shelf and you find it in everything they do. I would love to share the names of the individuals who have had such a positive impact on my parents’ happiness, but there are too many to mention here. The Kensington has roughly 120 residents with a staff of more than 180. That should tell you a lot about the attention the residents receive from the staff. In my opinion, the staff is everything. In addition to those who provide the day to day caretaking of the Kensington residents, there are staff nurses who do blood work, x-rays, and administer meds. Additionally, optometry and podiatry services are included, with insurance and/or Medicare often covering the cost. There is a beauty salon for hair and nails, a movie room with a new film each day, a TV/Library gathering room with large screen TV and incredibly well-curated live entertainment at 4:00 p.m. each day before dinner. The grounds at the Kensington are more than well-manicured and nicely appointed. The entire compound is spotless and there is always someone attending to something to keep it that way. The art on the wall celebrates The South Bay and the garden area is equal parts Huntington Library and Beverly Hills Hotel. When you mention The Kensington to people who are familiar with the home, you get a positive response every time. When discussing assisted living, the cost is commonly brought up as an obstacle. I did the math, I crunched the numbers and I read the reviews. I spoke to many people whose parents have transitioned to other local assisted living homes and I took copious notes. In the end, I found The Kensington to be very fairly priced, especially for what is provided. In all fairness, it is probably less expensive in consideration of all of the amenities. I can’t help but mention again how fantastic the Kensington staff is. When you entrust the care of your elderly parents to someone else, it creates a lot of anxiety and second guessing. Realistically, who would treat your parents as well as you think they deserve to be treated. I can attest that The Kensington treats my parents like gold and the positive impact this has had on my parents and me is overwhelming. I would like to thank Robert May for putting together a team that has created such a wonderful place for my parents to live and call their home. If you love your parents, give them the gift of The Kensington.

Always a pleasant experience around the manner in which Kensington staff care for my Step-father. As my mother made the choice to move to assisted living, she (and we) could not have been more delighted with The Kensington Redondo Beach. Caring is perhaps the most important characteristic of The Kensington, both at the move-in phase and continuing. Remarkably, the entire staff uniformly puts forward a caring atmosphere. Kudos to all staff members, including management! Every factor in quality of life improved for my mother upon her moving to The Kensington. Her medical care improved, as well as her daily nutrition, her physical strength, and the various daily housekeeping and personal care elements. She has maintained her broad social network with visitors and makes new acquaintances easily. While my mother savored living on her own, she feels The Kensington step has improved her life immensely and with relief she deserved and needed. The caring people at The Kensington have made this transition comfortable and warmly embraced by my mother.

We have had a great experience with placing my mom in Kensington. They helped us navigate what was a very difficult situation with my mom and her care that was needed. We ran into some issues at first, but then we were able to work through them and my mom is doing very well there. The nursing staff and all the care coordinators are awesome. They truly have a heart for the elderly clients that live there. Communication is also a great thing to call out. They are in constant communication with the family members. I cannot say enough about Kensington. Thank you for all that you do!

I cant' say enough nice things about The Kensington Redondo Beach and how they've taken care of a very dear friend of our family . We searched many places and when we met the team at The Kensington and saw the beautiful facility we knew we found the perfect home for our dear friend . Every time we reach out for an update on our loved one they respond right away with details and sometimes even a video . The professionalism and the caring that goes into everything they do shows that they really care about their residents . We especially appreciate Pat who helped us coordinate everything and Robert the Executive Director. The communication that they give has even been more important during this time of COVID when we're not able to visit . We highly recommend anyone looking to place their family member or loved one in a loving and caring environment to consider The Kensington Redondo Beach .

We perform music on a monthly basis at Kensington. We see how happy the residents are and the respect and care that the staff provide. It is so pleasant to be there and entertain the residents with the songs they know and enjoy. Music is food for their souls. We will always highly recommend Kensington.

The Kensington is by far the best thing that has happened for my mother and our family. My mom has been suffering from progressing dementia and previously cared for at another facility. While the other facility did the best they could to tend to my mother’s needs, she was declining fast from depression, given her physical condition, confusion, and failing memory. Since moving into Kensington, she has come out of her shell. She is finally being cared for by dedicated professionals who truly understand her needs and update us regularly on her progress. The staff is incredibly compassionate and respectful, and I must say that my mom is thriving now. During this time of Covid, the facility is going to great lengths to protect its residents. As a result, we cannot visit my mom face-to-face, but the staff is happy to connect her via iPad with multiple family members throughout the day as needed/requested. Every time we check-in, she is brightly dressed, nails and hair done, and always engaged in some form of stimulating activity, and in in great spirits. No more depressing bathrobe and slippers for her - which was her daily uniform before the Kensington move! A world of difference now! Covid has taken a toll on all of us, but the staff is doing their best to normalize life for its residents. There have actually been times when my mom was a little too engaged in some activity or meal with friends to take our calls! Understandable, as the cuisine that the chef prepares each day is amazing! We were able to experience and share those meals with her on our visits before the pandemic, and we look forward to getting back to that routine again soon. Until that time, we can rest assured that my mother is in good hands with the best nursing and memory care that we could have ever hoped for by an expert staff of professionals who genuinely care.

I was lucky enough to get into The Kensington Redondo Beach and was part of this marvelous community for almost 6 months while recovering hip surgery. During my stay I witnessed a caring and skilled staff carry out their duties with committment and guesto. The food was superb! I felt like I was on a cruise! I highly recommend the Kensington Redondo to anyone! You could not pick a prettier place to live!

I stayed at The Kensington for one month while I recovered from surgery. It was a big decision because initially I thought I could take care of myself. Being semi immobile and requiring regular bandage changes, my restrictions prevented me from preparing meals and other basic household duties. Choosing a respite stay at The Kensington was the right decision. They have a 24 hour nursing staff that changed my dressing, assuring me my wound was healing properly. The care staff made themselves available to assist me with bathing and dressing. Laundry service and healthy meals allowed me to focus on resting and regaining strength and mobility. I appreciate the full service offerings including transportation to and from my home, exercise class and the live entertainment. Thank you for your kindness.

Mom moved in late last year 2019 and The Kensington has been a blessing and a wonderful place for her to land. Physical, occupational, and speech therapy have helped Mom maintain a lifestyle that is comfortable. Of particular excellence is the speech therapy provided by Leah. Her knowledge in the field provided Mom with actual tools to improve her speech, something that was lacking at a previous residence, while a good place is far behind the Kensington. With a registered nurse on duty and an in house physician, quality care is not a premium, but an everyday happening. The varied activities provide needed stimulus to keep the mind and body moving in a positive direction, not to mention the attentive care. Happy hour daily provides socialization with other residents, staff, and the varied musical performers who round out an ambiance of fellowship and good cheer. Did I mention the dining room and bistro. Food worthy of a king and the brunch held on Sunday (prior to covid) was well attended and sold out every time. The menu is varied and residents can get a meal anytime from the kitchen, another perk not offered at other assisted livings many of which have specific hours for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. You want breakfast in the afternoon? No problem the staff is always happy to accommodate. As the slogan and mission statement of the Kensington states: "We promise to love and care for your family as we do our own." Truer words were never spoken.

My father moved into Kensington in March of 2020, just before the pandemic broke, and I have to say that the quality of care and service has been second to none. I rest easy knowing that my dad is in such good hands. During such an uncertain time, Kensington has provided my family a sense of security and assurance. The facility is absolutely beautiful and always immaculate. The staff are always responsive and thoughtful. I have visited several assisted living facilities and Kensington is simply the best.

Mom moved into Kensington about a week after they opened. It was the best thing I could have done for her. She has been suffering from Dementia for a few years and her previous facility although good was not even close to the same care she received at Kensington. The staff is what makes any facility special and she responded immediately to the extra care she received. Everyone treated mom with such great respect and kindness and it offered me great piece of mind. I lost mom in early April but I know she had the best care possible the 8 months she was with the Kensington family!!

The Kensington Redondo Beach is the best Assisted Living Community in the SouthBay area. The Leadership and Staff truly demonstrates professionalism and provides outstanding service. The teams attention to detail is reflected in the level of care provided during the pandemic. They go above and beyond to make sure my father is treated like family and is completely satisfied. They treat my father with kindness, respect and dignity. Their motto is you ask ” you receive! It is reassuring knowing my father is comfortable, safe, loved and is in a beautiful community.

I recently visited this facility looking for a place for my Dad. I was impressed by how tidy and inviting the lobby area is. The welcoming lady at the front desk was so nice, got some coffee for me and some juice and a cookie for my toddler, and chatted with me about the rich history of the building and grounds. I met with Michelle, who was very helpful and genuinely empathetic about the hardships my Dad and my family have been through recently. Michelle obviously believes in what she does, and where she works, as she was sincere and patient as I asked multiple questions, and as my toddler was restless. We looked at the model suites, which are stunning! After visiting a few competitors nearby, I have been disappointed in the worn look of the d©cor and also of the staff. This team is bright and energetic, and the facility really is stunning. There are many amenities here that I haven’t found anywhere else. And they advertise that they want my Dad to be able to age in place, meaning that as he ages, they will be able to meet his needs and care for him as necessary. I plan to discuss this with my Dad as a serious option, and will bring him and my sister for a visit very soon. Based on the people I met, and the research I did about the company, I am confident that this is the best place for my Dad.

They thought of absolutely everything! This place is beautiful! As someone who has searched long and hard for Assisted Living for my parents, I know what to look for from my folk's previous experiences with Assisted Living and Senior Care Living. For starters, everyone was sooo warm and friendly. From my first phone inquiry with Michelle to being so warmly welcomed into this beautiful place by Deborah. I talked with a friendly Brandi and eventually sat down with a great guy named Tyler who shared with me all about Kensington and what it has to offer seniors. These folks were great! Tyler shared with me the whole philosophy behind Kensington Assisted Living and answered every question I had and I had a lot! =) And he invited me to take a tour. Here are some things that really stood out for me about this place that are huge to me and should be huge to anyone looking for care for their folks or senior friends. Nursing Staff on Site 24/7. They have a Registered Nurse and 2 LVN Nurses on staff 24/7. They have a Physician on staff which can take care of any issues that might come up and if residents want to go to their own private physician, they provide the transportation to and from. If your folk's need some assistance, there are caregivers to help. They have better staff ratios than any place I have checked out. They provide graduated care so your folks can be cared for regardless of their increasing care needs. (At a place my Mom was in there was no nurse on staff 24/7 and their rations were terrible! And bad things happened and when my Mom started to have some issues, she had to move to another facility because she exceeded the level of care they could provide and it was a huge inconvenience and very unsettling for her. ) Kensington provides graduated care. So you don't have to worry about this. They provide the care you need. They have Physical Therapy, Occupation Therapy and Speech Therapy on site. There is on need for your folks to have to leave the facility to receive these services. Meals anytime they want. So if your folks are late risers, no problem. They can have their breakfast later! Family and friends visiting eat for free. Wonderful Social entertainment and programs planned for every day of the week and clubs offered with a variety of interests to keep them engaged. Fitness programs and spiritual programs. And they allow pets! A salon on site. Library, personal laundry provided, dry cleaning available. Graduated Alzheimer's Care in their Memory Care Section. This means if your parent is in the beginning stages of Alzheimer's, they stay in the same area with other residents that are in the same stage of dementia that they are. They don't have to be in the same area as late state Alzheimer's residents which could be very depressing. They have another area for Mid-Stage to Late-Stage Memory Care where residents that fit into this category stay. So this is wonderful. Not all Assisted Living / Memory Care Facilities offer this. So your parent might be in the beginning stages and have to be in an area where there are residents that are in the later stages of Alzheimer's or dementia and this can be so depressing and hard on them. It is designed to be so light and airy, beautifully decorated and cheerful, with wide hallways and beautiful courtyards. It's a beautiful place to live. Who wouldn't love to live a couple blocks from the beach with a beautiful ocean breeze year round ? There are so many great things about this place, I don't have room to mention it all but I am thoroughly impressed. It's truly beautiful and they have clearly thought of everything. I hope when I get to this point in life, if I need assistance and can't live in my own home or with family, that I would be so fortunate to live here. It's as good as it gets. A Beautiful place to make friends, be well taken care of, with good food, great programs, great care and you get to keep your pooch! How cool is that? Check this place out ! Ask for Tyler or Brandi to help you. I know you will be impressed!
