I come to the Brookdale South Bay Senior Community 5 days a week. One of the residents has a dog that I walk daily. My own parents happen to live at a Senior Independent facility in Florida, so I am very aware of what to expect from these Communities. I have been so impressed with Brookdale. Everyone is greeted with a smile and acknowledged by name-residents and visitors. I have only seen caring and compassionate interactions from the staff. I would definitely look into Brookdale South Bay as an option if my parents were here in California. Super staff, clean and always lots of activity!

My mother moved into Brookdale about 3 years ago when my father died. She has been very happy with the decision. Her room is large, bright and clean. She loves the food and has her grandkids join her often. She keeps busy with all of the activities and does her shopping with her friends. The other residents are very friendly. She always has friends to eat and chat with. They look out for each other. We all love the fact that the staff does not have turnover. Lynette does an amazing job overseeing all things. Sandra and Ted are always helpful and friendly. I feel a wise choice was made with Brookdale.

My mom moved into Brookdale Southbay six years ago and she couldn’t be happier. From the staff at the front of house to kitchen and housekeeping staff, all are caring, friendly and top notch. She has a lovely one bedroom apartment when she wants privacy but there’s often something going on to engage the residents. They have speakers and musicians come in to entertain, movie afternoons and evenings, games, puzzles, computer lessons, a beautiful library and days trips to museums, shopping, events or just to see the local scenery. Several religious groups have gatherings for prayer or study weekly. I and my family travel frequently but are always assured that my mom is safe and being looked after by the wonderful staff at Brookdale.

My mother has been at Brookdale in Torrance for over a year, and I can not recommend it highly enough. After living her entire life In Kentucky, she was worried about moving across the country. The staff welcomed her with open arms, and she is happier than I have seen her in many years. From the caring staff, to all the new friends she’s made, moving to Brookdale South Bay was a perfect decision.

My father is a resident at Brookdale and I could not be happier that he is there. His apartment is spacious, the food is delicious, and the staff is caring and considerate. He is safe and taken care of, but is still able to be independent. There are plenty of activities and fun things to do.

Brookdale's staff — from its director Lanette to the activity director to the cook staff to the reception staff — are so incredibly helpful to residents and visitors alike. There are so innovative in creating tons of activities for my mom to enjoy, and the staff keep an eye on her and encourage her to do things she's never done before. Throughout Covid, they have been extra careful and have been able to keep everyone safe. My mom has been there for years now, and I wouldn't think of moving her. She is healthy, happy and safe. Bravo, Brookdale!

I was so happy to call and hear how happy my aunt was. Not being able to visit her has been tough on me, but Im happy to know that she is being taken care of by such an incredible staff! I can sleep easy at night knowing that shes safe and well. Thank you Brookdale staff!

I called to find out more information on the best way to introduce the idea of moving to my parents, and Brookdale South Bay gave me great advice! Not only do they have information on their website on the best ways to get started on senior living, but they made me feel comfortable enough to actually take steps forward with my parents. I will definitely be recommending them to all my friends and family who are looking for a facility that genuinely cares about the well being of their residents. Friendly receptionists, great management team, very clear communication!

I will give Brookdale South Bay a 5 rating due to phenomenal residents like Connie Landis, Joe and Rose Zito, and many more to name and some of my former coworkers like my Mother Patricia McCutcheon and Alex Cardenas, I spent almost 5 years there and that is all I will say for now! If I can say anything to the wonderful residents that I have had the pleasure of having interaction with, I want them to know that I love them with all my heart!
