The Cottages at Palm Springs is truly an amazing place! I’ve had the pleasure of visiting twice, and each visit has left me even more impressed. The community is beautiful, peaceful, and exceptionally clean. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with kindness and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff genuinely cares about every resident and goes above and beyond to make them feel happy, safe, and valued. It’s clear they treat everyone with compassion and respect. I also love all the fun activities they offer, which keep residents engaged, active, and smiling. I toured this community for my Dad and the location and cottage style layout was nice and unique and seemed well maintained. The price seemed reasonable, especially compared to other places and the one thing that stood out the most was the activities. The calendar was completely full for the entire month and the current residents really like the activity director (I believe her name is Lydia). When I spoke with her, she was really knowledgeable and friendly and you could tell she genuinely cares about the people and her position and really good at what she does. Definitely a huge plus and might even be what pushes us to move my Dad in! The rest of the staff seemed very friendly and available, although we didn't go to the memory units, so I can't give any feedback for those.

I want to share my experience so other families can make informed decisions before placing a loved one in this facility. In our experience, the facility was not adequately equipped to handle some of the behavioral and emotional challenges that can come with aging and cognitive decline. If they were equipped, it did not feel like it from a families perspective. Simple communication requests from my loved one to speak with management were dismissed and ignored. My loved one frequently complained about staff saying they didn’t have time to talk or listen. If the staff doesn’t have time to listen to a lonely elderly person, they are either understaffed or in the wrong business. What was most concerning was the repeated lack of communication and follow-through. On multiple occasions, my loved one was sent to the ER and, after being discharged, was left waiting for hours before anyone from the facility came to bring them back. I even texted and called for a release and return plan and no call backs, texts or communication happened until days later. For an elderly person already dealing with confusion, stress, and health issues, being left alone in the ER for extended periods was unacceptable and deeply upsetting for our family. Communication with family members was consistently poor. Important updates were delayed or not shared at all, leaving us scrambling to find out what was happening and advocate for our loved one ourselves. Families should not have to chase down basic information about our loved one. While some staff members were kind, the overall level of coordination, responsiveness, and preparedness did not give us confidence that residents with more complex behavioral or medical needs were receiving appropriate support. Management team is less than impressive. I strongly encourage families to ask detailed questions about emergency procedures, transportation after hospital visits, staffing, and communication expectations before choosing this facility.

"I cannot express enough gratitude to the team at The Cottages on Baristo for their incredible responsiveness during an extremely stressful time for our chosen family. Our good friend, and chosen family, had very quickly and suddenly, begun displaying signs of incognitive behaviors. Then, after a devastating fall in a public arena, and sustaining a serious head injury and being diagnosed with onset dementia, it was obvious they were no longer safe at home, and we were desperate to find a secure environment immediately. They became an escape risk, insisting on leaving the hospital, and then a rehab facility. While most places told us the intake process could take days to if not weeks, the admissions team here including Tammy and Janet, recognized the urgency of our 'escape risk' situation. They expedited the assessment and paperwork, moving heaven and earth to get him admitted within 1 day. The Cottages administration team was even willing to stay way beyond normal business hours to receive him as a new resident. Since the move, the secured environment has given us such peace of mind. The staff is specially trained to handle exit-seeking behavior with patience and redirection rather than restriction. The buildings and grounds are immaculately clean, with a friendly, dedicated staff that offers a full complement of services with competitive pricing. The location is ideal for residents who are still capable of walking a couple blocks. The Mizel Senior Center and Palm Springs Public Library are next door and across the street you'll find shopping and restaurants.

He is a leading professional in the elder care space and introduced me to Gia and the team that lead The Cottages Palm Springs. The Cottages in Palm Springs is a Haven in the world of assisted living and memory care. A Haven in terms of physical spaces that create calm and peace. It is an inclusive community, warm and welcoming. The Cottages is a community dedicated the welfare of each resident. I am so grateful that I could work so effectively with Gia to arrange for my mom to move in to the cottages during the holiday week. I believe my mom will be happy and cared for in this calm and beautiful place. Hello, my name is John. I was a nurse for 30 years and I help people from my church for the last 20 years right now. I’m taking care of a woman for the last four years with Alzheimer’s. She is at the Cottages At Palm Springs for the last four years, the people are very sweet and helpful for her. I love that all the employees give special attention to everyone between hugs and holding hands and kisses, which they miss from their family. not being around it is a great place and people should not feel guilty because you have to put your parents or grandparents in a facility. I appreciate all the employees in the front office, the kitchen and the aids and Med techs they all do a great job and caring for the residence since I’ve been there, I’ve gotten to know some of the residents myself very grateful for my assistance when they need it and they make friendships there which they need. I recommend the Cottages At Palm Springs. thank you for your time

As a resident, I just can’t give enough praises. I have been accepted for myself for the first time in my life. No one has made a derogatory comment to me being gay which was not the case at other facilities. Also because I am Seventh-Day Adventist and vegetarian, the cooks did not bat an eyelash but instead have turned out wonderful, nutritious meals. I went there for a tour and was so impressed by the director of communications Mellissa Polendo. She gave me a Full Scale Grand tour of the whole Facility. The memory care unit at this facility does not have the staff or the training to deal with late stages dementia. Their idea of treatment and care is over drugging a resident to the point where they are bed ridden, can not eat or drink. The resident I knew was finally moved out of there to a well staffed and equipped facility where they never had to drug him once.

I walked in to Pacifica Senior Living in Palm Springs today and was greeted by the most friendly staff. Karla O. gave me a tour of the community. Her knowledge of the community was exceptional. The community is beautiful. I enjoyed seeing the positive interaction between the Residents and staff. The Executive Director Robert personally greeted me. He's one of the first Directors of a community that I have had take time to say hello and introduce themselves. Pacifica is hands down the best Community that I've toured.

My mom has lived here for 4 and a half years. I highly recommend this place, it's restful, rejuvenating, comforting with activities and beautiful landscaping. It's all one level which I and her really like, lots of green plants, sitting areas outside, with a community feel. The staff are caring helpful with her needs and my request. My mom is 92 yrs. Pacifica Senior Living in Palm Springs is one of the best communities in the area. As soon as you walk into the doors your transported into a cute cozy community. When I discovered my mom was not well I started to investigate places that had memory care facilities. I was lucky enough to talk to Sheila Fike on the phone. I was not ready to drive to look but she followed up with us in a very nice and attentive way every few months. So when it was time I never forgot her checking in with me and asking how are you guys doing? How is mom? She was the first person I called. It was how she was NOT pushy but was truly wanting to be there when we were ready. I won’t lie it was the hardest thing I have ever had to do! My mom is a rockstar and is my world! I was so scared! With that said the second I met Sheila, Judy and the staff and saw the place I was amazed right out the gate! The first day mom was already playing balloon volleyball and having fun! She really loves her room. I went out of my way to make it a fabulous room with everything she loves even a record player. She responded well to the place. I don’t know since she can’t tell me but I think she feels she’s at a five star resort! The staff I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with is: Shaun, Maggie, Yesenia, and Brittney. Also in Fir cabin: Christina & Grace have always done moms hair very nice with either curls or beautiful intricate braids. Lety’s beautiful singing voice to all the residence. Melissa is a wonderful help with running things there. We love everyone Olivia, Flower, Myrna, Patricia and Maggie. And of coarse Kari who runs the in-house salon is fabulous too! Pacifica Palm Springs has changed our family’s life in the most exceptional way Both of our folks are in Assisted Living / Memory Care, at Pacifica Palm Springs, and my sister Judi and I are so very grateful! It was a journey getting them there, but it was the greatest decision we’ve ever made as there are Alzheimer's and Dementia issues happening for them both. Change is hard, especially after living on their own for so many years, (they are both 87, and married for 64 years) so there was an adjustment period, but once they felt safe and loved by the incredible staff at Pacifica, all their fears have vanished, and safe and loved they are. Executive Director Cristina Miller, has an amazing staff, and Sales Directors, Sheila Fike and Judy Saliwan, made our family feel so welcome, and worked so hard to take care of us, find space for our folks, twice! (after one aborted attempt to move them) and truly helped my sister and I know this was all going to be okaythey were right they are amazing people. The rest of the staff humble us by sharing their goodness and commitment to making our folks, and all who are living at Pacifica feel at home! My sister and I have to mention so many people we are so thankful for.. Starting again, with Sheila and Judy we are so grateful to you both, sweet Brittney, Yesenia, and Carol up front are full of kindness, and welcome everyone so beautifully on the phone, and do so much more, as does John, who keeps people moving, all are full of smiles and goodness. Activity Director Kalyn has been wonderful with the folks, and tries to include them in all the terrific calendar events she plans, and new Memory Care Director Melissa is a Godsend! And although I know I’m forgetting many, (sorry)! my sister Judi and I have to thank from the bottom of our hearts, these Med-Tech’s and extraordinary caregivers Christian, Arnetta, Hero, Gilberto, Cristina, Grace, Erica, Letty, Amanda, Yvette, Shaquim, Chante, Mirna, Veronica, Anias, Summer, Maggie, Bing, RoseMarie, Flour, Alyssa, Maria, Janet, Olivia, Anna, Ariana, Stephanie, who are so kind, patient and giving ... My brother is a member of the Pacifica Senior Living, Palm Springs community. He was aware of the facility for a long time, as a friend lived there for 7 years before my brother joined. The grounds are beautiful and so well maintained. The individual cottages are homey and inviting. There is a choice of several different sizes of living spaces. Maintenance and upkeep is great, always immaculate, and decorating being done; new flooring being installed. The food is good, and all are willing to go the extra mile, even to serving coffee earlier than breakfast service in the mornings. It is the people who make this facility special. There are way too many to mention, and one fears leaving people out. John drives the van and takes people to doctor appointment, drives out on tours of the area, and to shopping centers on a weekly basis; but you might also see his smiling face delivering mail and packages. Joseph is on site in my brother's cottage and helps with a whole lot of things. No one seems to have the "this isn't my job" attitude. It seems to me that for the people at Pacifica it is more a vocation than a job caring for seniors. I recommend a tour to all thinking of senior living in this area. There is so much more than I could ever begin to tell you.

I love living here at Pacifica. I've lived here for 3 years and it's just gotten better each year. I really enjoy the cottage atmosphere that you won't find anywhere else. It feels like family living and each of our cottages have a family room with a huge TV and fireplace. I have good friendships with my neighbors here and with the care givers.

I have had to reach out to the MedTechs and Resident Care Director on numerous occasions. They always handle my concerns with professionalism and a sense of urgency.
