Not only is it an extremely difficult time for the aging resident realizing their limitations, but it is for the loved ones as well. The decisions are scary and you are always second guessing your decisions adding to the anxiety of it all. I would find myself on the verge of tears on a regular basis, but the staff and especially the leadership help put those fears to rest. They are always there to help whether it's a solution for a tangable issue or an emotional break. I cannot thank you all at Oakmont/Oxnard enough for the guidance through this journey.

As a visiting nurse who works in many assisted living and memory care communities, I can confidently say that Oakmont of Riverpark truly stands out. From the moment I arrive, I’m consistently greeted by staff who are professional, attentive, and genuinely compassionate toward their residents. I own a caregiving agency called Kristie Jo’s Love, Comfort, and Care, and I’ve worked in many assisted living communities with seniors over the past 25“30 years. Oakmont at River Park is truly one of the most exceptional communities I’ve ever experienced. The staff and caregivers are incredibly kind, professional, and genuine. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm smile from the receptionist, and it instantly feels like home. The sales team and executive director go above and beyond ” they’re compassionate, attentive, and truly dedicated to the well-being of every resident. The entire community has a warm, welcoming atmosphere that stands out among other assisted living communities I’ve worked in. I recently attended one of their luau events and was absolutely amazed by the food ” their five-star chef is outstanding. The meal and presentation were far beyond what I’ve seen in most senior communities. I also want to commend the wonderful staff for their professionalism and teamwork. Even though I own a caregiving agency, I occasionally provide one-on-one care when needed, and my experiences working alongside the Oakmont team have been excellent. What a wonderful community Oakmont has! My parents and I were impressed by the team--from the the manager, Kailey, to Queena and Lace in the sales department ,to the activities team of Jennifer, Gabby, and Miguel, to the care givers, med techs, and food servers--everyone is kind, patient, and focused on creating a supportive and peaceful environment for the residents. The facility is nice and the food varied. We are so grateful!

Oakmont riverpark is immaculately clean,well maintainerd, and chock full of activities for the older retired community. You will notice that virtually all of the staff is enthusiastic, presumably because the management treats them well. Speaking of management, particularly notable is Ricardo. My father had dealt with him before, and this morning's activity confirmed his track record. In a marginally complicated transaction, he was able to explain what additional information we would need, yet complete all the preliminary steps. His dedication is representative of just about everyone here.

Oakmont of Riverpark is a wonderful residence for my family. It is always a difficult process to reach a decision as personal and emotional as finding the right place for your family. The staff at Oakmont, especially on the Memory Care wing, has always been very professional, responsive and kind. Though the situation is difficult for our family, the Oakmont staff has eased the burden of the situation.

My husband has resided in Traditions since one month after the facility opened. Although there have been occasional minor problems, my overall opinion is that his care has been very good. He had advanced Alzheimer’s disease and has had a major stroke. He is not the easiest person to care for and can be difficult to handle at times. However, since Denise Wadkins has been the memory care director, his care has been exceptional. She is very responsive to requests and problems that arise and I feel much more confident that he is where he should be. His caregivers are also kind and sensitive to needs.

I come here a lot for home health visits, and even though it is a beautiful facility, I would not live here or send a loved one. There are buildings being built all around it, blocking the beautiful views of the mountains. The memory care unit is terrible. The residents sit all day and do nothing, they are not walked, etc which just causes more decline. The staff in this area specifically is lazy and rude to outside workers. I have also personally seen how the staff mistreats residents they do not like, constantly ignoring them, not giving them their meals, etc. Would I recommend this facility? No way.

My mother and stepfather both reside in memory care at Oakmont. They have been there for 3 years. I cannot tell you how much I have appreciated the care that has been given. My brother handles their care living close by. I am in Virginia. I love being able to go on FB and see all the activities and events happening. The staff is professional and kind. Our stepdad passed away a few days ago. They have been so wonderful during this time and so compassionate. I came down to spend several days with my mother. It warms my heart to see that my mother is happy. The staff goes out of their way to treat the residents with dignity and warmth. It’s difficult to place your loved ones out of their homes but this was by far the best decision we could have made.

My parents have been living at Oakmont of Riverpark for over 4 years. The special bonds they made with the other friendly and kind residents and staff (shout out to outstanding staff Gabby and Jennifer) made them feel so very happy that they moved to Oakmont. Tony is an amazing chef who creates delicious meals that based on the taste and presentation, you know he loves what he does. Waitstaff take the time to know each resident and their unique dining preferences. Just recently, my mother passed away. The plan was to move my dad (who requires quite a bit of care) to a place closer to me. However, I ended up choosing to keep him at Oakmont of Riverpark. I kept him there because of the attentive staff, and particularly because of Ian Gadea who has shown nothing but respect, care, and love for not just my dad, but our whole family. Ian is passionate about his job and wants to make sure everyone has the finest care possible by not just getting to know every resident's needs, but making sure his staff is aware, and that families are in on the whole process. He also recognizes and fights for what a resident requires for maximum comfort. The staff that work under him and help with Dad's care are attentive, professional, and friendly. I am truly thankful that Mom and Dad moved into Oakmont of Riverpark.

See the place at 6 pm on a Monday. Only one poor nurse on duty in Memory Care. Patients attacking visitors with their walkers! Who gets these patients to bed? Is that why my mom wears the same clothes every day? They can't even brush their teeth. They need at least six nurses at ALL TIMES! We are paying upwards of $10000 month for this!!!!

It’s been a long process finding an Assisted Living for my mom. Matthew has been more than helpful, attentive and kind, as well as generous with his time. After a few drive bys my mom asked to make an appointment to look at Oakmont. When she met Matthew she became relaxed and more comfortable as he encouraged her to be open to the possibilities. One room in particular called to her and with a little nudge she was excited to sign up and reserve her favorite room. She has called all her friends sending pictures of her room to be and even bragging about it. She has had many ups and downs since then but said she will not change her mind. I am very grateful to Matthew for his gentle expertise in leading my mom through a process that’s a bit intimidating to someone who has not moved in nearly 80 years. He gave her a gift of hope. She will be making the move in less than a week.

My visit at Oakmont Senior Living was delightful. The building is well maintained and very clean. While I was there all the residents were incredibly happy. All the staff was more than welcoming! Matthew Girardot was a fantastic point of contact for us very responsive and helpful. I would send my loved one to live here in a heart beat! I can’t say enough great things about this community. Even their lunch prepared by the kitchen looked delicious! All around I give Oakmont a 5 star, easily. It was an absolute pleasure to see nothing but happy well taken care of residents. If you’re in the market for an assisted living community don’t pass this one up!

We put my aunt into this absurdly expensive facility because we wanted the best for her and the building itself was beautiful, relatively new, and the people were very kind. However, the turnover on administrative staff has proved a serious issue. So far, we have been notified several times because they didn't turn in the paperwork for her insurance to pay, which has caused problems with the insurance company, she was almost taken off site by people and no one can tell us who, and the people who call us can't pronounce her name or even know who she is. These are just the major concerns. There are several other issues that we are not happy with as well. Moving her is an option, but it would cause extreme stress since she is in memory care. I do not recommend this facility.
