I have reached the point in my life where I have begun to consider independent retirement living and have started checking out possibilities in the Coachella Valley. I recently attended a Hawaiian Brunch at The Palms in La Quinta and left most impressed with my experience there. I don't think it could have been better in Hawaii. The buffet was both authentic and exquisite. Every dish was the best I've had anywhere. My compliments to the chef and to all those who helped in the preparation. And, the bussers and servers did a great job. They were friendly and happy, and obviously loved what they do. That certainly speaks well for The Palms. Then, there was the musician and the bar tender. They were both delightful. The music was authentic and the pina colada's were perfect. The bartender looked and acted like he had just flown in from Hawaii! And, last, but certainly not least---Robbie, Vicki, Dawn, and the rest of the staff who planned and executed this lovely event, Hawthorne Living is, indeed, fortunate to have all of you!

We recently moved my mother into The Palms Gracious Living to improve her opportunity for interaction, more independence, and to not have to take care of a larger home. The activity calendar surpasses any other Community we looked into, the staff is warm and attentive to both my mother and our family, and the process of obtaining a residence was smooth and transparent. It is a very welcoming environment and engaging to new residents. The staff is readily available at any time to answer questions, help with the move-in process, and help with daily needs for your loved one. The community as a whole is clean and well-maintained, and the residents who live there are friendly and welcoming. I posted a few pictures of my mother's one bedroom apartment. She has a large one bedroom of 560 square ft.We did some DIY in her apartment to give it an updated look - covering the wood cabinets with white peel and stick paper and added some battery operated lights. We also built an additional cabinet to create more storage. The size of the one bedroom is perfect for my mom, and she is really thriving after her first month there. She is actively engaged in the activities and she is seeing some improvement with her memory since moving in.

I've been living in my new home at the The Palms in La Quinta, CA since early February of 2024, coming from my family home of many years. It was a carefully considered move. I am still active and engaged in a number of interests and I wanted to do more of that and less in the way of home maintenance and household chores. With appointments, I visited about seven senior independent living facilities in the central part of the Coachella Valley, touring each facility and gathering information, usually over lunch to sample the quality if the food service. I visited one facility per week so that I had time to review info and thoughtfully reflect on each experience. At the end of this process, the choice was quite clear. While all of these independent living facilities were clean, attractive, appeared to be well managed, etc., I was left with one overriding impression: any would serve as a good place to grow older and die, The Palms would be the best place to go to LIVE, and to live a full and undiminished life! This is what I observed residents doing on my visits to The Palms. My residency here these past months has born out the accuracy of that impression. As an independent person who values privacy, this move to community living has allowed me to continue in that lifestyle, while at the same time taking advantage of the opportunity to establish new friendships,, devote more time to my interests, develop a more active social life, enjoy well planned and deliciously prepared meals, and to benefit from housekeeping services and even transportation services! This is exactly what I was looking for in a senior independent living facility… As my future needs change, so may the range of services I choose to access. Over time, I have become increasingly impressed by the support system provided to residents of The Palms. Observing it daily, and experiencing it firsthand, reinforces the assurance of the staff's commitment to the safety and well-being of all residents of The Palms, my wonderful new home!

What truly sets La Quinta Palms apart is the presence of two live-in on-site managers who consistently go above and beyond for their residents. I once encountered Vikki, one of these exceptional managers, at a local cardiology clinic. When I asked why she was there, she explained that she personally drove to the cardiologist to ensure a resident received their prescription. This level of dedication is truly unheard of in most independent living communities. The administrators at La Quinta Palms know each resident by name and genuinely care about their well-being. During my visits, I've seen the administration not just overseeing operations but actively engaging with residents during meal times, even serving food and ensuring everyone feels valued and supported. The community's activities are exceptional, thanks to Stephanie, the director of activities. Her creativity shines through in the diverse and engaging programs she offers, which cater to all interests and abilities. One of the most impressive aspects is the way she fosters intergenerational connections. Students from La Quinta High provide tech assistance, and middle schoolers from Sacred Heart come to bake and interact with the residents. These initiatives bring joy and purpose to everyone involved. Dawn, who handles marketing, has a unique ability to make everyone feel welcome from the moment they step through the doors. Her warmth and enthusiasm are infectious, creating an inviting atmosphere that puts potential residents and their families at ease. I recently had a client move to La Quinta Palms from another community, and he couldn't be happier. The residents went out of their way to welcome him, and he's now thriving in this supportive and inclusive environment. The caregiver who cares for my client also expressed what a higher level of service this community provides. And get this….the cost is less than where he was before. In my professional opinion, La Quinta Palms Independent Living Community is a top-tier choice for seniors seeking a place where they can live independently while still receiving the care, attention, and sense of community they deserve. I highly recommend it.

Allow me to divide this review into two parts. My husband and I made the decision to move to The Palms Independent/Assisted Living Community and now live here very comfortably and contentedly. First, we give this community a five star review because it more than meets all the needs that we sought after making the major life decision to change living lifestyles. We were aging and developing different needs. Here you will find friendly and caring staff everywhere. Effective and hands-on 24/7 available, professional and concerned management. Nutritious and delicious daily meals. Relief from everyday chores connected with managing a home and the maintenance and costs involved in owning a home. The Palms Independent/Assisted Living community meets the most important needs of all of us, to live in a beautifully appointed facility surrounded by caring people who truly and quickly become friends and feel like family. And, this Palms offers the ability to add care needs only as needed and only when needed. The club like amenities and varied activities available allow folks to participate as much as desired or as little. And, as The Palms Independent/Assisted Living folks like to say, "It's all included." Second, and most importantly, please make certain to visit and choose the RIGHT PALMS for your needs. There are two Palms La Quinta communities. One serving Independent/Assisted Living folks and one serving Assisted Living/Memory Care people. When we began our search for the proper next living place, after deciding things were getting a bit more than we could handle on our own. We put together a team of friends, 3 couples, to help us tour the many Coachella Valley sites and serve as advocates in our decision. One of those friends stopped on her way to our first group meeting to pick up a brochure at The Palms Independent/Assisted Living site. We were all impressed with the information contained there and eagerly awaited a tour date. We toured almost every facility in the area. We were invited to a lunch tour at what we thought was The Palms described in the aforementioned brochure. Disappointedly, the tour didn't offer any housing that would work for us. The meal, in a private room removed from the community dining room, was tasty, but when we began discussing the care levels involved, we realized what was offered began at care levels exceeding our needs and budget and not flexible at all to serve the Independent person's lifestyle. The sales/marketing associate told us to beware of The Palms facility "across the street" because when we needed care it would "cost much more" and we would end up moving over to their Memory Care facility after all. Stunned, to hear there was another Palms building across the street, we realized that location was the facility where the brochure that had impressed us so much earlier had come from. The difference here is INDEPENDENT Living and Assisted Living combined. One tour, viewing available floor plan choices including separate "cottages", a delicious meal in the dining room with the community, combined with the dynamic personality of the Marketing Director, Managers and staff, the decision to move in was a "no brainer". Remember street address 45190 Seeley Dr., NOT 45160, for Independent/Assisted Living, in a gracious retirement living environment indeed.

My parents transitioned from their home to The Palms earlier this year, and our experience was positive from the start. Dawn warmly welcomed us and guided us through the facility, patiently addressing my mother's concerns and ensuring she felt comfortable with the move. Throughout their stay, Vicki, Robbie, Dawn, and the entire staff provided excellent care and prompt assistance whenever needed. We found great reassurance in the on-site caregiver services, which further enhanced our peace of mind. My Dad has his new "Forever Home"! These past 18 months have been the most difficult time my family has ever experienced. After living in their home for 30+ years, being married for 70 years, my Mom was diagnosed with Alzheimers 2 years ago. This began a journey none of us could have prepared for. We had to move our Mom to a memory care faculity, once she became too ill for us to take care of her properly. Needless to say, my Dad has a broken heart and staying in their beautiful, and very large home (which Mom has created!) was paying the toll on him. We looked at many independent senior living places for Dad, once he decided to sell their home, and never had the feeling of "this is the place", until walking into The Palms. Dawn Keller has been our "Go To Girl" from the beginning! Robbie & Vikki Morris have been stellar and extremely patient in dealing with all of us. They all exude kindness and genuine concern in all aspects when dealing with the Parrish family. There is a sense of tranquility and kindness that just continues to grow! This Retirement Community & all the staff went way over & beyond to make the transition for our Mom into her new home seamless. Dawn specifically was very informative and helpful. The community of residents were very kind and welcoming to our Mom. I was very impressed with the quality of the food. It's actually homemade , the bread along with deserts are all made fresh daily. Thru-out all the tours of numerous facilities we saw everyone's calendar of events, here people are actually partaking & happily enjoying them. Our experience so far has been beyond exceptional. The team we interacted with always seemed to sincerely care & be committed to having a happy healthy environment for everyone. They also have a Medical Team available for hire, Diamond Home Team which are also very knowledgeable, kind, and overly accommodating. My Mom is very happy with her choice to be a resident. We feel very lucky to of found such a great community for her exciting new chapter of life.

The Palms at La Quinta continues to be such a place of comfort, learning, inclusion and positivity for my mother. My mother struggles with several difficult health issues. In the Palms independent living set up, I can care for her twice a day, once in the morning before my work, once in the evening after my work, and during the day she has her independent time to herself. It is a perfect balance so both of us get what we need as care receiver and care giver. What sets the Palms apart is its vivacious staff. Robbie and Vikki, the married, on-site management power house, are the perfect blend of practicality and sensitivity to each individual resident's situation and needs. Stephanie, the activities director, engages in many different kinds of action, from leading exercise classes, to managing TED talks and other study classes, weekly outings, organizing on-site events. Her positive, no nonsense attitude keeps everyone focused and at ease, even if they decide to do an unfamiliar activity and try something new. Esteban, head of maintenance, constantly ensures that everything works, or if it doesn't, he immediately knows about it and it's on his list. There's never a day that goes by when he's not smiling and greeting everyone as he passes by on his busy schedule. Martin, the executive chef, prepares 3 meals daily, a delectable combination of meats, pastas, veggies, fruits, desserts and beverages throughout each week, in a lovely dining room setting which often has one of the residents playing live piano. David, Aegis Therapies, the on-site physical therapist, provides cheerful, challenging and effective physical therapy visits for those in need. Most is covered by insurance. For those residents who need a little extra help, there is the on-site Diamonds Home Care that provides everything from extra physical assistance from time to time, to full time 24 hour live in care. The location is superb, close to the main shopping area of La Quinta with Eisenhower Urgent Care literally 3 minutes away. But the main highlight of the Palms are the residents themselves. They pack the days with activities, support and love. They watch out for each other. All make the world a better place because of who they are. I cannot think of a better place for my mother to live. I am so grateful and appreciative for everyone and everything at The Palms at La Quinta.

The Palms at La Quinta Gracious Retirement Living - A Review When the time arrives for persons of retirement age to consider changing from living in a home of their own to choosing an alternative, as my wife and I have, the Palms at La Quinta Gracious Retirement community is the choice we made. And after two months we’re glad we did. We are not ready for assisted living, but as things change and we should need help in the future we know that different degrees of help are available here. In the meantime we live independently, drive, have ties to family and friends in La Quinta, and live active lives both here and in our community. So why move to retirement independent living, and why The Palms? The readiness to move from our La Quinta Cove home of 45 years was arrived at after a gradual awareness that the neighborhood we enjoyed for so many years was changing. We were less comfortable there than we had been, and felt that the upkeep and maintenance of our home was becoming more challenging. Add a health issue or two, and we began to think that something else might suit us better. We didn’t know what would suit us better until we investigated The Palms right here in our own town. The Palms offers us an independent living situation with many services and amenities. Three quality meals served daily in a group dining room are a major plus. So too is weekly housekeeping in apartments ranging from studio to two bedrooms, and a few larger casitas. A wide variety of daily activities are offered. One may choose to be as actively engaged here as you wish. At The Palms we can focus on what we want to do rather than what we have to do. The gracious reception given us by the residents has been uniformly positive. The Palms is an independent living community, with an emphasis on community. We looked around and visited many places for my mother in law around the beginning of 2023 when she was in the hospital. We knew we wanted to move her closer to us. The Palms was the last place we visited as they say "Save the best for Last!" The moment we walked in you could feel the different energy here compared to the other places in the valley. Bob a resident was playing the piano it was so inviting. We were immediately greeted by Dawn who was and still is the sweetest, most professional, engaging, caring person I personally have ever met. She continues to help and be there for us and it been months. Her energy is contagious!! It took some time for my mother in law to get adjusted, a new area, a new home, new people, and all while she was recovering from almost 2 months in the hospital, 2 trips to ICU, nursing facility (Dawn even visited my mother in law while she was recovering at Manocare) we really didn't know where she should be placed in "retirement living" or "assisted living?" We did know she was healthy and able prior to her hospital visits. Dawn hooked us up with health care assistant and we paid for additional services that allowed my mother in law to just focus on recovery, this was a life saver! Eventually she was on her own and back to independent living!! My mother in law has adjusted to her new home at The Palms and is extremely happy!! She loves this place!! Her health is the best it's ever been!! The meals provided has help her diabetes extremely! The staff and Dawn make it a winner!!

My mom is a resident at the independent living section of the Palms La Quinta. Her previous retirement facility that she loved, closed down. Moving was daunting. The Palms staff made it easy. We moved her in and immediately the attentive staff, and the residents, gave her the support, confidence and independence she needed to discover her way around the active, cheerful and tranquil surroundings. Robbie and Vikki are a hands on management team who encourage and respond to any issues/feedback, supported by Lenny, whose calm, can-do demeanor makes her effective and proactive. Patrick's gregarious welcome and overview of the community familiarizes new residents with activities and facilitates meeting other residents. No one ever feels alone at The Palms. Stephanie, the activities director, provides a schedule of exercise, balance and fitness classes, along with numerous other activities like bingo, art once a month, movies in the Palms theatre, Sing Alongs and Talent Hours with visiting performers and with the resident performers. There's a putting green, card games, water aerobics in the pool, an outdoor walking club, and a weekly off site "Fun Bus" to various valley attractions. Most importantly, my mom's found some fantastic friends at the Palms. She's exercising more. Her attitude is positive. She looks forward to her schedule everyday, which relieves me of worry. She also looks forward to her meal times which are social times for her. The daily menus at the Palms are filled with culinary treats and lively conversation. The Palms location in La Quinta is convenient to me, and is near the Argyros Eisenhower Urgent Care and within a 15 minute drive either way to valley hospitals. Definitely check the Palms out for independent living. There's also an assisted living and memory care area on the campus as well, if that is needed. It's a positive, active, inclusionary atmosphere that highlights the best senior life has to offer. We're so appreciative that we're a part of it.

A few months ago my mother realized that living alone, eating alone, being alone was no longer for her. At 86, her vibrancy and joy for life had been replaced with anxiety and boredom. She made the decision to move closer to me to an independent living community. I spoke to several in the Palm Desert and La Quinta area and we selected two to visit. The Palms at La Quinta was just what she was looking for from the moment we walked through the door. The place was bright and alive with music from their resident piano player and everyone we passed was smiling and friendly. Before we arrived, Dawn took the time to learn about my mom and we were treated to a good meal joined by two lovely ladies with similar interests to mom. They made my mom feel welcome and it was obvious they enjoyed living at The Palms. Dawn put us in touch with movers who made the daunting process of moving simple and smooth. Since moving there, my mom is back to her positive self. She's sewing again. She enjoys the water aerobics, the games, movies, and the special events. The on-site managers Robbie and Vikki are very responsive, and most importantly she feels safe and at home. I'm so thankful we found The Palms. I see mom almost every day, but now I have to check her "schedule" she is so busy. It is so good to see the bounce back in her step. Teri W.

Grammy has been living here for a year and a half in the independent senior living. Every aspect of our experience with this place has been 5 stars so far... starting with the moving process. The movers were arranged by the Palms and they accommodated a very last minute weekend appointment with us. They took photos of everything on the night stand, etc and had the room set up with the pictures and knick knacks in the exact same spots! They spent time to advise what would fit and what had to stay behind. She has a balcony and her cat with her at the Palms. Theres a movie theater with popcorn! The staff, especially Barry and Janis are wonderful. The food is really wonderful and the vibe is comfortable and friendly. We live in the San Fransisco area and we are Grammys only family. We spent years worried about what Grammys next steps would be after she fell at home by herself. The staff, food, activities, and social life at the Palms have been great for her.
